"Pendulum of the Soul" is the one hundred and fortieth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime. It first aired in Japan on January 29, 2017.
The fierce battle against Zarc continues. Things hit a crisis when even Leo's secret plan, the tactics that defeated Zarc before, fail a second time around, but Declan finally Duels at last! As the Duel starts, Ray appears before Riley once again and tells him that there is a "soul" residing inside Zarc. The Duelists who have challenged Zarc also feel the same. Declan takes a stand in a moment of absolute despair, and Yuya's greatest and strongest rival shows his evolved power! A showdown between Declan and Zarc then begins. Will everyone's emotions toward Yuya be able to create a miracle in this battle?

Zarc has 6000 LP and controls "Supreme King Dragon Zarc" (4000/4000) and "Supreme King Servant Dragon Odd-Eyes" (2500/2000), and 1 card is Set on his field. He also has "Supreme King Gate Zero" (
0) and "Supreme King Gate Infinity" (
13) in his Pendulum Zones. Declan Akaba has 5 cards in his hand and 2000 LP. "Crossover" is active on the field.
Turn 16: Declan
Declan draws "D/D Savant Schrödinger" and subsequently activates it ( 2) and "D/D Savant Dirac" ( 8) in his Pendulum Zones. He Pendulum Summons "D/D Night Howling" (600/300), "D/D Vice Depos" (2300/???), and 2 "D/D Savant Nikola" (2000/2000). Declan overlays his two Level 6 "Nikola" to Xyz Summon "D/D/D Wave High King Executive Caesar" (2800/1800). He then tunes his Level 7 "Vice Depos" with his Level 3 "Night Howling" to Synchro Summon "D/D/D Gust High King Executive Alexander" (3000/2500). The effect of "Vice Depos" activates as it was sent to the Graveyard by banishing itself along with "Night Howling" to Fusion Summon "D/D/D Flame High King Executive Genghis" (2800/2400). The effect of "Alexander" double its own ATK there are 2 or more "D/D" monster on the field other than itself ("Alexander" 3000 → 6000).
Declan activates the effect of "Genghis" by targeting Spell/Trap Cards his opponent controls up to the number of other "D/D" monster he controls, Declan Negates their effects until his next Standby Phase. Declan targets "Supreme King Gate Zero" and "Supreme King Gate Infnity". Zarc activates the effect of "Supreme King Servant Dragon Odd-Eyes" by adding itself to his Extra Deck, face-up, and Special Summons 2 other "Supreme King Servant Dragon" Pendulum Monsters from his Extra Deck. Declan chains by activating the effect of "Caesar" as an effect that would Summon a Monster is activated by detaching 1 of its Xyz Material. He negates the effect, and adds the ATK of 1 of those monster that would be summoned to its ATK, until the End Phase. Declan chooses 1 copy "Supreme King Servant Dragon Darkwurm" ("Caesar" 2800 → 4600 / ORU 2 → 1). He then activates the effect of "Caesar" as its ATK increased by its effect by detaching 1 Xyz Material and targets a monster he controls, Declan give ATK equal to the amount of ATK "Caesar" gained to to his target's ATK, until the End Phase. He targets "Genghis". ("Genghis" 2800 → 4600 / "Caesar" 's ORU 2 → 1).
"Genghis", "Caesar" and "Alexander" attacks "Supreme King Dragon Zarc". As there are Fusion, Synchro and Xyz Monster Banished or in any Graveyard. "Zarc" cannot be destroyed and is unaffected by any effect that would make it leaves the field. The battle damage is inflicted (Zarc 6000 → 5400 → 4800 → 2800). During Declan's End Phase, as Zarc took 2000 or more Battle Damage from 1 attack while he controls "Zarc", Zarc activates "Supreme King's Wrath". Zarc destroy all monster he controls, except "Zarc". He then Special Summons "Supreme King Servant Dragon Odd-Eyes", "Supreme King Servant Dragon Dark Rebellion", "Supreme King Servant Dragon Clear Wing" and "Supreme King Servant Dragon Starving Venom", Ignoring their Summon conditions, and attach 2 "Supreme King Servant Dragon Darkwurm" from his Extra Deck or Graveyard to "Dark Rebellion" as its Xyz Material. The ATK of "Caesar" and "Genghis" returns to their respective original ATK ("Genghis" and "Caesar" 4600 → 2800).
Turn 17: Zarc
"Clear Wing" attacks "Alexander". As "Clear Wing" is battling, Zarc activates its effect to negate the attack, destroy the opponent's batting monster, and inflict damage to Declan equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster. Declan activates the Pendulum Effect of "Dilac" as he would take Effect Damage, he Special Summons it in Defense Position and reduce that Damage to 0. "Dark Rebellion" attacks "Caesar". During Damage Calculation, Zarc activates the effect of "Dark Rebellion" as it battle by detaching 1 Xyz Material from it to reduce the ATK of the monster it battles to 0 and add the lost ATK to "Dark Rebellion" ("Dark Rebellion" 2500 → 5300 / "Caesar" 2800 → 0). Declan activates the Pendulum Effect of "Schrödinger" as he would take Battle Damage, he Special Summons it in Defense Position and reduce that Damage to 0.
Zarc activates the effect of "Starving Venom" by targeting 1 monster in his opponent's Graveyard. He replace this effect of "Starving Venom" with that monster's effect. Zarc targets "Alexander". The effect of "Starving Venom" gained from "Alexander" double its own ATK there are 2 or more "D/D" monster on the field other than itself ("Starving Venom" 2800 → 5600). It then attacks "Genghis". Declan activates the Effect of "Schrödinger" as he would take Battle Damage, once per turn, he reduces that Damage to 0. "Odd-Eyes" attacks "Dilac". The effect of "Starving Venom" grants other monsters he controls an ability to inflict Piercing Damage. The effect of "Odd-Eyes" double any battle damage his opponent takes from battle involving Pendulum monster Zarc controls. (Declan 2000 → 200). "Zarc" attacks "Schrödinger".
At this point, Riley/Ray enters the duel and takes the intrusion Penalty. (Ray: 4000 → 2000)
With the effect of both "Starving Venom" and "Odd-Eyes" granted to "Zarc", "Zarc" inflicts double piercing damage (Declan 200 → 0).
Turn 18: Ray (Riley)
Ray activates "Transmigrating Life Force" by sending all cards in her hand to the graveyard ("C/C Critical Eye", "Film Magician", "Montage Fusion", "Nightmare Critical Loop" and "Photo Frame"). She targets "En Birds", "En Flowers", "En Moon" and "En Winds" in any Graveyards, and set them to her side of the field. Ray activates her set "En Flowers". As there are 3 or more Xyz Monster in any's banished or graveyard while she controls "En Flower", Ray activates her set "En Birds". The effect of "En Birds" treats all Xyz Monster in any player's banished or graveyard, or on the field, into Normal Monster, and negate their effects. As there are 3 or more Synchro Monster in any's banished or graveyard while she controls "En Birds", Ray activates her set "En Winds". The effect of "En Birds" treats all Synchro Monster in any player's banished or graveyard, or on the field, into Normal Monster, and negate their effects.
As there are 3 or more Fusion Monster in any's banished or graveyard while she controls "En Winds", Ray activates her set "En Moon". The effect of "En Moon" treats all Fusion Monster in any player's banished or graveyard, or on the field, into Normal Monster, and negate their effects. Ray activates the effect of "En Flowers" as she controls "En Birds", "En Moon"and "En Winds" to negate the effect of all monsters on the field, destroy them, and inflict 600 damage to their controller for each monster sent to graveyard. There are 3 on Zarc's field (Zarc 2800→ 1000) ("Zarc" and "Odd-Eyes" goes to the Extra Deck).
At this point. Yuya suppressed Zarc and continue the duel in his place and using his cards.
Turn 19: Yuya (Zarc)
Yuya draws and activate the Quick-Play Spell Card "Smile Universe". Yuya Special Summons as many Pendulum Monsters from his Extra Deck with their effects negated, they are treated as Normal Monster, and his opponent gains Life Point equal to their ATK . Yuya Special Summons "Supreme King Dragon Zarc" and "Supreme King Servant Dragon Odd-Eyes".
Turn 20: Ray
Ray activates the effect of "En Flowers" as she controls "En Birds", "En Moon"and "En Winds" to negate the effect of all monsters on the field, destroy them, and inflict 600 damage to their controller for each monster sent to graveyard. (Yuya 1000→ 0)
