Hi DrakeyC, looking through some stuff on the Final Fantasy wiki, it appears you're right about your account being renamed. However, as TTF said, the rename functionality should have automatically moved your userpages on all wikis as well, and left an entry in the user rename log. This means there's something going on behind the scenes, which is something Wikia staff should look into, since if it's happened for you there's a good chance it could happen for others requesting renames. I'm copying the anime lores from the original pages, but if there's none, I copy the OCG/TCG lores. But I get it, I'm not going to use the PSCT for old cards.

We don't know for sure that "facility" referred to the commons. Regardless, I have no issues with the removal of that part, the fact that he was an orphan is enough.

Are you using Monosubs? Because I know the guy who subs for Mono and I'm fairly certain he agrees with me on the AU bit.

I could be remembering wrong and may need to rewatch earlier episodes for the other places, But they never said anything that implies it can't be the same universes as the other shows. How so? Jack's backstory contradicts his backstory in 5D's. In 5D's, Jack was from Satellite, but no one knew that. In fact, it was a problem when that fact was exposed. Here, he was from Commons, and its public knowledge and isn't a problem for him. This being after 5D's also makes little sense considering that. Plus, this isn't Neo Domino City. It was never once called that. Its just "City" (yes, they could start calling it Neo Domino in future episodes, but at this point they have not. When the new Mayor brought back the class system, he could have wiped everyone's memory and the commons could be the new version of the satellite. Yes, the current management enforces a competitive system, but it seems Jack is also likely an anomaly in that he manged to climb the ranks. Regardless "everyone could have had their memories modified" isn't something we can use here. If we went by that, then nothing could ever be 100% confirmed. scripted duels

Hi there, UltimateKuriboh directed me to you.

So, I don't know if you're aware, but I'm the person who created the pages for each of the WCQ and YCS "scripted duels" where the dub VAs come out and act out a duel.

To that end, I also take a note of every card used in that duel and update each character's deck profile and the individual card appearances.

Card Replacements in the Dub

In Yami Yugi's section - episode 138, it states that there is an unknown Spell Card in the original anime, and in the dub, it is replaced with "Dark Wall of Wind"; however, I don't think that it's a replacement. Problem User

Hi Cheesedude. On this page, the user ToonPegasus is reverting my reply to him over and over, after he admitted to using online translators to create a Japanese name for the page. I offered him some advice, which was reverted. I assumed it was an edit conflict and he reverted it by accident, but then he continued to revert the edit even after I told him to stop. Thank you for understanding and noticing what I was trying to tell you. I have been updating the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's episodes in order to keep them in line to the current format. The Speed World and Speed World 2 effect activation sentence has been done since episode 1 (around 2014) and I have been continuously maintaining it this way to the current timing without any problems and I wish to keep these sentences inside which has also by done since 2014 to the current timing (but I will remove other redundancies that are not necessary).Cardsknower (talk • contribs) 05:22, June 2, 2015 (UTC)

Gaodrake vs. Leodrake

Are you sure that "Gaodrake" is the correct name? The episode article where this card debuted clarifies that "Gaodrake" is a dub mistake. -- The Talk Goblin 07:04, June 7, 2015 (UTC)

If that's what the dub called, that's what we should call it. Now, if was only called that once as a mistake and the rest of the episode used "Leodrake", then we'd be using "Leodrake". That's not the implication I got from the episode article, but I also didn't watch the dubbed episode. And if it was consistently called "Gaodrake", then its not a dub mistake, its the dub choosing (accidentally or otherwise) to "change" (or in this case not change) the name. Reply to question

Don't mention Levels when there a Synchro Summon sequence is stated (The new levels add through the monster template makes this redundant in a way). That part you did with the explanation of "Speed Spell - Sonic Buster" is something similar I did previously before UltimateKuriboh told me to shorten the redundant explanation on card effects since it made Featured Duels look way too long. Unless the explanation is for a Continuous Spell or Trap Card or Equip Cards, such explanations are not used and are considered unnecessary.Aside from those, everything seems to be okay in a way for your revision.Cardsknower (talk • contribs) 01:42, June 8, 2015 (UTC)

I'm not sure if a D Team template would be needed, since it uses cards exactly how they are in the OCG. However, in DY's case... considering monsters have no effect, just ATK and DEF (and Pendulum Scales in some cases), a "naked" monster template for them would be acceptable. Hi , I 'm a big fan of the wiki and ADM of Portuguese wiki. I recently had an idea, which was create a wikia and / or pages on social networks , where all yugioh communities in all countries and languages, with all variants (per example the wiki decks and the wiki yugioh questions) for wikis can communicate more easily with each other , for projects together , to help each other .... etc .

This project would have the name given in the title and would only serve to communicate , not as an encyclopedia of yugioh

Issue with Moving Subpages of Cards

After I move the Card Trivia, tips, and gallery for a card, the page has a notice saying that the page should be moved back to the old title and then null-edited. Arc V duel disk

I just want to clarify things about the new duel disk. Okay here goes. How did the duel disk has a pendulum zone in the first place if yuya first introduced pendulum summoning on the spot with his battle with strong ishi? I mean how did all the duelist have the pendulum zone? And where is the spell trap card zone on the duel disk? Its like the boomerang or the sword are just for pendulum and monster card zones. Decklists

You split Yuya's Decklists up, but should we do that between Maiami Championship and Different Dimensions arc for some of the other Lancers, like Dennis and Gong? The only real qualifiers for splitting are "decklist is too long" and "there is an explicit change that the show makes clear", ala the rules changing in DM or Judai getting an entirely new deck. Dennis and Gong obviously didn't have Pendulums before, but I don't think that qualifies them for splitting. Yo. So, this time, rather than a doubt, it's more like something I'd like to discuss with you. With the ARC-V manga being published in English a few days after the Japanese release, I'd really, really like to wait for the English releases before creating all articles and stuff here, to avoid a load of unnecessary work renaming all articles/replacing the names in the chapter-character articles/renaming the files/etc, like it's happening in this 2nd chapter. But. You must be as aware as me that the majority of Wikia contributors are usually desperate to add any little info that is leaked ASAP here, so while I wanted to avoid adding the articles here before the English release, several other editors did that instead so it was no use in the end (and heck, we got the English release two days after the JP one this time). Do you think there's anything we could do to avoid this? I know it's a long shot, but it really bothers me, and I thought it wouldn't hurt to exchange one or two words about it. Short of salting (locking an article before its creation so that that title can't be used as a title until unlocked) all likely articles names, that's not really feasible. And well, as we know, there could be multiple entirely valid translations, so it would be borderline impossible to salt all of them.

Actually, literally all info the contributors base themselves on is from NAC. I keep track of a few asian sources for news, and even one of them usually lists info from NAC (like, copy-pasted from our posts, lol). The moment Kahun suggested "Frost of the Monarchs" as the translation for a card in NAC, an editor created the article here with the name "Frost of the Monarchs". So it's quite easy to foresee the names they'll use - the ones we say on NAC.

I think it's more probable that the Japanese lore does mean "you can't grab 2 cards at once" than that it'd be mistaken like that. No, it alright. I being thinking and I want to change it back, just need to translate it better. After all, it going to be wrong if I stated that over 50 Action Fields have the lore incorrect when it is correct and it is a chore to place the lore with this note when it is incorrect. From what I understand if the phrase しか with できない is pair up, then the phrase "You only can x" will appear. Example "Aquarium Lighting" with "You can only control 1 "x"", "Qlimate Change" with "You can only activate "x"", and "Gather Your Mind" with "You can only use "x"". Basically substitute activate (発動) or control (自分フィールド/表側表示で存在) with add "x" to your hand (手札に加える). You get the following "You can only add 1 Action Card to your hand". This is unique as Action Fields are the only one that stated "You can only add "x" to your hand". Beside the term "You can only have" is usually reserved for card that reduce a LP in a fixed amount like "Backs to the Wall", "Number S39: Utopia Prime" and "The Winged Dragon of Ra". Yes, "shika" is used with a negative verb to say something "that's the only way to do it". For example, you may have heard "iku shika nai" in anime already; that means "I have to go" (iku = to go, nai = negative). It's like "there's no option but for me to go". The thing is that, like I said, Japanese is very, very contextual. It often isn't precise like English. It's more about "getting the idea of what it's trying to say" sometimes. The only change I think should be is to remove ", but", since normally the "you" is always capital. So, the text should be "You can use Action Card. You can only add 1 Action Card to your hand". Continuous, Unclassified, not Condition, since like the effect is similar to Control only one. Particularly the part right here "prohibits you from having another card with its name on your side of the field." I just using how the TCG adapt the term. I don't mind a loose translation as the only condition I would like to include is somewhere in the text to state it "add to your hand". To me, Action Duel state how many card can be in your hand while Action Field state how many card you can add to your hand. If both Action Duel/Action Field state how many card in your hand, then where is the part of how to add the card to your hand. I rewatch some ARC-V episodes, nowhere does it mention of how you can add the card to your hand, only the part where it mention the amount of card can be in your hand. Otherwise, the effect of "Cosmo Arrow" would not work, if Action Field state the "have in your hand", not "add to your hand". In the first episode, Nico state the match will be played by the official Action Duel rules. During this episode, when Yuya activate "Wonder Balloons", get an Action Card to used the effect. The Sledgehammer remark "You can't have more than one Action Card in your hand at any given time". This statement is used as a reference toward the hand limitation for both the Action Duel and Action Card page. This statement is ambiguous and can be interpret as being of part of "Action Duel rule" or "Action Card rule", as Nico mention the match being by played the official rule. Sadly the first episode doesn't go in-depth with the "Action Duel rule". The term "Action Field" debut in episode 3 and the term "Action Card" debut in episode 1. So, the "Action Card rule" should be part of the "Action Duel rule". From episode 62, Action Duel is a "A duel that unfolds upon an Action Field, and makes use of Action Cards that scattered upon on the field". The order is a Action Field → Action Duel → Action Card. I have to apologize since the "Action Card rule" explain that you can pick up the card instead of adding the card from episode 56, Sylvio mention "When a duel begins they're scattered everywhere. Those are Action Cards. You can pick them up and use them to further your strategy". For now, I will go with your idea of "You can only add 1 Action Card to your hand at each time", then when the next Yu-Gi-Oh! games appears and feature "Action Field", the lore will change to that lore, unless the lore is different. Well, we do need to move the Monarch (series) page since its not a series anymore. The regular navbox will be retained, we'll add the manga archetype navbox to the page as well and add it to Category:Anime and manga only archetypes. Strictly for the manga pages, all of the cards in Monarch (archetype) group will also be in this one. But not for the TCG/OCG, because there is no support.

The lingering question is what the hell to call the page though. We don't want another separate page (we can redirect "Emperor" to it though.

Sorry for meddling, I just wanted to add one thing. The Japanese name of Hip Hippo contains a pun. "Discover" is pronounced as "Disukaba" - and "kaba" means "hippo" in Japanese. All Japanese names either are portmanteaus or involve puns like that, and not all puns can be kept in English. I can give the list a more appropriate look once you post it to see if there's anything else you're missing (though to be honest, there are a few members which I still can't figure what's up with their names, like "Big Bite Turtle" xD). Possible Missing Effect for "Nightmare's Chains"

Hey Cheesedude,

I believe that more information should be added to the lore of this card based on what happened in this episode. The reconstructed lore on "Nightmare's Chains" only lists the effect about the negation of opponent's Trap Cards, but it doesn't mention how the card also has the effect of selecting an opponent's monster and preventing it from attacking and changing its battle position (based on what happened to Yami's "Dark Magician"). Anime/OCG Split Question?

Does the explicit mention of card on a OCG/TCG card warrant the move before the card itself is revealed? (E.g. Moon-Light Panther Dancer being mentioned on Moon-Light Lio Dancer)

Help with "SVFD" name

With the name of Yuri's Fusion Dragon revealed in the anime, as you may have noticed we have a new confusion regarding its name.

The Katakana being used in its name is "Sutāvu (スターヴ)", which is the part for the confusion. Initially i thought it was "Stave", then changed it to "Stab" (which is being presently used), upon someone else suggestion (thinking that i may have been wrong, since i used Google Translations help with it). Now, again its being said that the name could be "Stave". But some are suggesting that it maybe "Starve". Even "NeoArkadia" on NAC is confused about it, but he is going in favour of "Starve" more (because he feels that Konami may not want to use the name "Stave" as it may not be appropriate for a kids show).

I'm pretty sure its not "Stab". I would go with "Starve" for now. Ark supports it, as do several other Org members. We can always change it again if need-be, but I think "Starve" is our best bet. "Stave" I don't think is wrong, but it doesn't make sense in context, while "Starve" does.

Medium::TCG

Hello, Cheesedude! I noticed you've been changing the occurrences of Class 1::Official to Medium::TCG. Is it ok if I start using it in Card Tips articles as well?

Also, it seems like it only displays cards released in the TCG (Tuner's High stops displaying the "D/D" Tuner monsters if I change to Medium::TCG, and Banishes from your opponent's field doesn't show "Aether, the Wicked Empowering Dragon" or "White Spirit Dragon"). Please don't; Cheesedude's use of it was a mistake and I already asked him not to. Medium::TCG is meant to only list TCG cards; the fact that OCG cards aren't listed isn't, therefore, a mistake. It could be switched instead to Medium::OCG||TCG (and many older queries used this or the equivalent Medium::TCG||OCG), but the current Class 1::Official will remain working for the present (at least until the replacement for {{CardTable2}} has finally been written and is deployed, and after that there will almost certainly be a method for listing both OCG and TCG cards with a single "Medium" value). 「ディノ奴千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 21:54, December 20, 2015 (UTC)

Pendulum Scale

Hi! I dont know who to talk about this, but since you're an admin (you're an admin, right?), I think you may help: In the page of any monster, we can click on the number that is right beside the stars and then we are redirected to a page named "Level x Monster Cards", so that we can see all monsters with that Level. But the same can't be done about the Pendulum Scales... I mean, in the page of any Pendulum Monster, it would be nice to click on the number of the Pendulum Scale and then be redirected to a page named with all monsters with that PS... I would like to add this feature, but I dont know how...

Please don't, unless you use the Monobook skin and can check that it's not actually needed. The reason it's normally used in card pages is because the card's Japanese name or lore uses {{Ruby}}, and the way the name/lore is shown in the SMW factbox at the bottom of the page causes the page to render broken in Monobook. This doesn't happen for most cards, though (in fact, it probably only affects a small number of them overall), and there are a few cases where it's used when it's not needed ("Kuribabylon" was one such page, though I'm not sure if you were aware of that when you used it as an example), in which case it can be safely removed.

For pages which use {{Hide Factbox}} and need it for proper display in Monobook, you can view the information by using Special:Browse; for example, for "Kuribabylon" you would visit Special:Browse/Kuribabylon. 「ディノ奴千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 15:58, December 26, 2015 (UTC)

SP15 Unlimited

Hi Cheesedude! I left a message here, it probably went unnoticed, hence why I decided to bother you with this. I would like to know if SP15 has indeed an Unlimited Edition.
I've been adding some galleries and there are no pics for the Unlimited Edition, but I have been adding their respective galleries, because it appears as existing on SP15 page (despite the page haven't been created yet). However, cards like Big Benkei already had the Galleries completed except for the SP15 Unlimited, which got me wondering if, in fact, they really exist or if someone just, by mistake added them on the SP15 page. Also, I haven't been able to find any SP15 Unlimited on the internet (I just qucikly searched on some major sites). And I searched through the SP15 history to see if there was some source to SP15 Unlimited (I didn't find any).

Untranscripted lores

So, as you saw, yesterday I checked Card Breaker's anime article and noticed a notification saying that its lore hadn't been transcripted. Do we have a filter or something to find all cards that still need one? I'm still in vacation from uni for a couple of weeks so I could transcribe some while I have some time. A Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V Wiki

As seen here there is a wiki that covers Yu-Gi-Oh! Arc-V. I checked through some of its pages and the text and images used is the same or at least similar to it. Considering that this wiki already covers Arc-V, should something be done about this wiki? Spectertvx (talk • contribs) 23:10, February 3, 2016 (UTC)

We had a similiar issue with ZEXAL. There is nothing inherently wrong with it, anyone is free to create a wiki about anything. And for some franchises, it makes sense. Some wikis don't want to cover everything about their franchise and split themselves into smaller wikis instead. We obviously have not done that, but if other users want an ARC-V specific wiki, that's fine. In fact, they are even free to take our content to use - IF they attribute the content to this wiki in their edit summaries. If they have not done that, then that is indeed an issue and will need to be dealt with via Wikia staff. Cheesedude (talk • contribs) 23:15, February 3, 2016 (UTC)

Technically speaking, they're legally obligated to attribute us if they copy our article content, hence why staff have to get involved if they refuse to do so. Attribution can also be done with a link to the source on the copied page (e.g. via an attribution template such as {{Wikipedia}}), but I would be kind of surprised if they preferred that to just linking in edit summaries.

Images don't have to be attributed to us, since we don't hold the rights to them anyways, unless the image in question was actually created by an editor here and doesn't contain anyone else's intellectual property (given our focus, though, it's a fairly safe bet that that case won't apply to a random image). You can make them yourself. There's no strict rules aside from not only coming to the wiki to edit your subpages. Also, images shouldn't be stored in userspace, but there's some leeway for that with subpages, since the expectation is that if you have images in your subpage, they'll eventually be used in the mainspace. Card Picture

Before I make this for the trivia page, I wanted to ask if the card Sergey used in 93 of Arc with the Nazca picture, had the Hummingbird Nazca line in the sky in the picture. When I look at the picture in the episode (with a clearer shot of it in the sky in the picture), it does look like it. If it is, I can probably say it's an easter egg. Also is there anything wrong in saying that the Field Spell Sergey uses was a reference to how a Duel in 5D's is with a Dark Signer (the Dark flames burning up around them during the Duel)? I mean, Arc V does make plenty of references to past series wether it be an alternate universe counter-part, or little easter eggs like ones you would spot in the Synchro Dimension. Several stuff

Hi there, Cheesedude! I have several questions:
When adding card lores, is it imperative to link the terms to their pages? Or is it only necessary in the English lore? Because I haven't been doing that, I've only been adding the text. There are some languages I can't figure out all the terms to link. But some, I'm able to find them.
Other thing is, the German database uses some weird " (Example: „Magiebuch“ instead of "Magiebuch"). Is there a preference to use " , or should I keep the „ “ ? Because I believe I've seen both being used.

Not really. Its important in English, yeah. Feel free to add them to the other languages when you can, but its not a requirement in any way.

I'm not sure about the quote style, we always use ", but the other languages may differ. I would suggest you ask Dinoguy.

There is not set system aside from requesting them and our granting it, which is done if you've been around long enough and are trusted. We do have a tendency to miss out on some requests.
