Velgearian

Velgearians are a race of artificial extraterrestrial lifeforms in Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!!. They were created by The Creator and by their progenitor, Kuaidul Velgear as "Kartumata", autonomous pawns, or in Kuaidul' words, cards that could think. They came to dwell in the Velgear Star Cluster, and became embroiled in seemingly endless war with another race that devastated the system.

Design

Appearance and physiology

Velgearians resemble humans, but have crescent-shaped highlights in their eyes. Some Velgearians also have red marks beneath their eyes of varying shapes. This form is described as their "Galaxy Form".

Velgearian soldiers generally dress uniformly in ash-white coats, sand-blue pants and grey armored boots. They prominently wear ash-white helmets that peak in the shape of cat ears with dark visors that conceal their eyes and leave their mouths exposed. Officers wear orange instead of blue, while Zuwijo zir Velgear's troops wear black versions of the standard uniform. Higher-ranking Velgearians wear custom outfits. All Velgearian soldiers are armed with energy swords that are holstered at their hips at dagger length, but can extend during combat, and with Gavil Chargers, which are more elaborate among higher-ranking Velgearians.

Etymology

All named Velgearians have the surname "Velgear". The name appears to be derived from Bevel gear.

Abilities

Velgearians have several superhuman abilities. They can shapeshift into a human form and outfit for disguise on Earth, and are considerably stronger and more resilient than humans. They can withstand both extreme heat and cold; Yudias Velgear has withstood temperatures he claimed to be -800 degrees and would later express concern that the Velgearians aboard Valvelgear would only be troubled by the ship being dropped into an incinerator. Both Yudias and Muda Velgear also demonstrate their own individual abilities; it is unclear if these powers are unique to them, or whether other or even all Velgearians can use them.

Under extreme circumstances, Velgearians transform into a form that resembles a shirt. In this state they are inert until restored: only The Relic at the Go Rush Yu and exposure to the Earthdamar are known to be capable of restoring them. Yudias was forced into this state after dragging himself through the immense gravity of the Alien Residential Area and succumbing to exhaustion, while Zuwijo zir Velgear has experienced this state twice: the first time after being killed in action and the second time after seemingly being erased by The☆Lugh's Negative Energy powers.
