Notes
In this episode, Kaiba first reveals an effect shared by the three Egyptian God Cards: If this card is Special Summoned in Defense Position when your opponent has attacked with a monster, you may switch the attack target to this card. However, the English dub not only doesn't explain this effect, but also shows mistakenly the card of Obelisk the Tormentor vertically placed in a shot of Kaiba's Duel Disk, while the Japanese version shows it horizontally, since it is in Defense Position.
- The Japanese Opening and Ending changes from WILD DRIVE and Paradise to WARRIORS and These Overflowing Feelings Don't Stop.
Featured Duel: Yami Yugi vs. Seto Kaiba
Duel continues from previous episode.
Turn 14: Kaiba
- As "Obelisk the Tormentor" and "Slifer the Sky Dragon" collide for mutual destruction, a beam of light erupts from the tower, causing Yugi and Seto to see a vision from the Ancient Egyptian past.
- "Obelisk the Tormentor" and "Slifer the Sky Dragon" are destroyed as a result of battle due to their equal ATK.
- Seto sets a card("Cloning").
- Seto's hand contains two "Blue-Eyes White Dragons", "Final Attack Orders", "Polymerization", and An unknown card. (NOTE:Due to a mistake, this card could either be "Magical Trick Mirror" or "Card of Demise".)
Turn 15: Yami Yugi
- Draws "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts" and subsequently Normal Summons it (1500 ATK / 1200 DEF) in Defense Position.
- Seto activates Trap Card "Cloning", summoning a "Clone Token" with the same stats as Yugi's "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts" (1500 ATK / 1200 DEF) in Defense Position.
- Sets a card.
Turn 16: Kaiba
- Draws Spell Card "Cost Down" and subsequently activates it, lowering the Level of one of the monsters in his hand or field by two (NOTE: In the real game, to activate "Cost Down" you must discard a card from your hand and it lowers the Level of *all* your monsters, not just one). He chooses to have "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to be the target for the effect of "Cost Down".
- Tributes his "Clone Token" to summon "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (3000 ATK / 2500 DEF) in Attack Position.
- Attacks and destroys "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts" with "Blue-Eyes White Dragon".
Turn 17: Yami Yugi
- Draws Spell Card "Monster Reborn" and subsequently activates it to Special Summon "Dark Magician" (2500 ATK / 2100 DEF) in Attack Position back from his Graveyard (he discarded it previously due to Seto's "Life Shaver" effect). (NOTE: Yugi could have instead Special Summoned "Slifer the Sky Dragon"; it would have 5000 ATK because he would have 5 cards in his hand, so he could then attack "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and win the Duel.)
- Sets a card.
Turn 18: Kaiba
- Kaiba draws.
- Sets a card.
- Activates Spell Card "Card of Demise", drawing until he has five cards in his hand. Five turns after "Card of Demise's" activation, Seto must discard his entire hand.
- Summons "Lord of D." (1200 ATK / 1100 DEF) in Attack Position. Due to "Lord of D.'s" special ability, Seto can now protect all his Dragon-Type monsters from Card Effects that target monsters.
Turn 19: Yami Yugi
- Draws "Beta The Magnet Warrior" and subsequently Normal Summons it (1700 ATK / 1600 DEF) in Defense Position.
- Attacks Seto's "Lord of D." with "Dark Magician".
- Seto activates Trap Card "Magical Trick Mirror", targeting "Monster Reborn" in Yugi's Graveyard: this allows Seto to Special Summon "Obelisk the Tormentor" (4000 ATK / 4000 DEF) in Defense Position.
- Activates "Obelisk the Tormentor's" special effect: since it was Special Summoned in Defense Position after Yugi attacked, Kaiba is able to block "Dark Magician's" attack with Obelisk (Yugi: 3000 → 1500 Life Points).
Difference in adaptations
- Cut from the flashback in the dub are shots of Kaiba and Yami upside down and Kaiba staring at the Pharoah while Yami stares at Kaiba.
- Also cut are scenes of Kaiba gasping from the flashbacks
- Card of Demise is redesigned in the dub
Mistakes
- After Kaiba set "Cloning", his hand is shown to have 5 cards. At Turn 16, when Kaiba start, he is shown to have 5 cards when he suppose to have 6 cards.
