Free Duel (Master Duel)
Free Duel comprises of 3 different modes in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel. No progress to a player's Rank, Level, Duel Result, or Duel Pass will be made.
Team Battle[edit]
A player can either create or join a team.
There are 5 settings in all:
- Players in Match
- 3 vs 3 Match
- 5 vs 5 Match
- Forbidden/Limited List (Combination)
- A-3/A-5
- B-3/B-5
Format A only allows the Standard banlist to be chosen when starting matches, while Format B-5 allows for the Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, Link, and Standard banlists. Format B-3 only has the choice of the former 3.
- Preferred Forbidden/Limited List
This option only appears if a player is joining an existing team. One can limit their searches to rooms that only use a specific banlist.
- Team Name
This option only appears if a player is creating an existing team. The team creator has to choose any single card in the game to be their Team Name.
- Select Deck
When joining a team, a player will have to choose their Deck prior to searching publicly (bottom-right) or privately (top-right). A private search requires a team leader to share their Team ID, a unique 8-digit pseudo-random number.
When creating a team, a player will choose their Deck on the main team screen.
- Team Battle Screen
The Format chosen earlier by the team leader will be in permanent effect when the team is created. Each team can designate 1 Deck from an individual player to be their representative for a particular order (1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th) and after selecting a valid opponent via Select an Opponent, those of each team's specific order will Duel (ex. 5th vs. 5th) for each valid pair.
Team Information is where team members can view the Team ID to share with others who are interested. Invite Friends allows for all mutual followers (players that have followed the host and the host follows them back) to be notified to automatically join when in-game. Lastly, Recruit a Teammate makes your team public to search for people who are willing to fit your Format's orders (those who have chosen their Preferred List mentioned above).
Duel Room[edit]
A player can create or enter rooms as participants, or spectate them as observers.
Create a Room[edit]
The creator can enable the following:
- Room Comment
Default: None. A brief subtitle for people browsing to know what is expected in your room.
Room Comments | ||||
---|---|---|---|---|
None | All Welcome | Beginners Welcome | This is a Private Room | Using Fun Decks |
Practice for Tournaments | Serious Matches Only | Trying out a Deck I'm building | Duel with a Hobby Deck | Limited Gaming device |
- Room Max Occupancy
Default: 6, range 2-50 participants. Does not include spectators.
- Forbidden/Limited
Default: Standard. Choose between Standard, Unlimited, Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, or Link.
- Duel Time
Default: Normal: 300 seconds. This matches a competitive Event/Ranked Duel.
Custom Times | |||
---|---|---|---|
Short: 150 seconds | Normal: 300 seconds | Long: 600 seconds | Very long: 900 seconds |
- Life Points
Default: 8000. Choose 4000 or 8000.
- Room List Permissions
- Spectator Permissions
- Spectate List Permissions
- View Replay Permissions
Default: ON. ON/OFF.
Assuming that ON is affirmative to the following; in order, these privacy settings allow the creator to control...
- ...if other players can enter your room without the Room ID.
- ...if spectators are allowed. OFF forces Spectate List Permissions to be OFF too.
- ...if spectators can join without the Spectator ID.
- ...if other players/spectators can view replays made from matches held in the room.
The Room ID and Spectator ID are pseudo-random 6-digit numbers different to any current room. When the room is created, the Room Name is automatically the host's name. Room Details is where room players can see the settings, Room ID, and Spectator ID. Finally, Invite Friends sends a notice to all mutual followers to automatically join when in-game. Rooms automatically disband exactly 24 hours after they are created.
Enter a Room[edit]
Participants can either scroll and find public rooms to join in, input the Room ID given by room members, or be invited to join by the creator.
Spectate[edit]
Spectators follow the same guidelines as entrants except with the Spectator ID. All non-playing participants in the room can also spectate other matches if allowed.
Casual Match[edit]
A player is matched with anyone else regardless of existing Rank. The Standard banlist is normally enforced, but during Events, that event's banlist may replace it. Otherwise, the rules are the same as in a Ranked Duel.
