Challenge Duelists around the world!

Ranked Duel is the main player-vs-player game mode in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel.

Overview[edit]

In-game Rank overview

Players begin their journey in the lowest rank, Rookie Tier 2. The game will match players with those of similar Rank to ensure a fair match where possible. By winning Duels repeatedly, they can ascend the ranks, capping out at Master Tier 1. Ascending to new tiers or ranks for the first time each season yields Gems.

Advancing in Rookie Rank is simple, as the player can proceed regardless of whether they win or lose.

Within Bronze to Gold Rank, the player only needs two to three wins to be able to advance to the next tier. At Platinum rank, losing Duels will count against making progress; they will need a net of three wins (e.g. 4 wins 1 loss) to advance to the next tier, but taking too many net losses will cause them to downgrade to the previous tier. The net wins to advance increases at higher ranks.

While losing too many times can cause a player to go down a tier, they will never drop to the previous rank, i.e. if you're in Gold 5/Platinum 5/Diamond 5, you have no penalty for losing too much. If you've hit the maximum rank of Master 1, you will not downgrade when you lose until the monthly rank reset.

At the start of each month, all players are downgraded to the lowest tier of the next lowest Rank from where they ended the previous month at, i.e. all players in Diamond Rank (Tier 1 to Tier 5) will start the next month at Platinum 5, all players in Platinum will start from Gold 5, and so on, to the minimum of Rookie 2. This means a player can downgrade multiple ranks if they do not climb for several consecutive months.

Duel Assessment[edit]

After completing a Duel without surrendering, the player is taken to the Results screen which calculates Duel Assessment Points based on what they accomplished during their game. Every 1000 points awards them either Legacy Pack tickets, a small number of Gems, or one of the cards from the Duel Result set.

The game calculates your score by taking the top 6 actions you have performed from the following list, with priority in descending order:
