The Undying Grudge! known as Spirit of Grudge!! in the Japanese version, is the 146th chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist manga and the 205 chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! in the Japanese version. Dark Yugi and Dark Bakura continue their duel in the first round of Battle City's Finals. Bakura had allured Yugi to destroy his 3 Fiend monsters so he can summon Dark Necrofear, Yugi now had no idea about Dark Necrofear's abilities.

Dark Bakura's Turn
He set 1 Magic\Trap card Face-down.
Dark Yugi's Turn
He Sacrifice Berfomet to summon Dark Magician Girl (ATK 2000) then he activate his Face-down Magic Card Magic Formula and equip it to Dark Magician Girl to increase her ATK by 500 points to become 2500, then Dark Magician Girl attacked Dark Necrofear and destroy it. (Bakura LP 450). After Dark Necrofear disappeared, only the face of the baby it hold had remained then a dark soul come from it and posses one of Yugi monster, then Yugi order Gamma to attack Bakura's Life Points but the dark soul appeared from within Gamma and scream at Yugi, result in negating the attack and result Yugi to lose life points equal to Gamma's ATK (Yugi LP 3250) while Bakura will get that amount of life points (Bakura LP 1200).
Dark Bakura's Turn
He Activate his Face-Down Destiny Board which write the letter D and at the end of each of Yugi's turns the board will write another letter of the word Death and when the word complete Bakura will win the duel, then he activate The Dark Door to limit the attacks to 1 each turn then he summon Earthbound Spirit (ATK 2000) in Defense Position.
Dark Yugi's Turn
He Summon Kuriboh in Defense Position. then he use Dark Magician Girl to attack Bakura, but the dark spirit had possessed her so again Yugi lose 2000 life points (Yugi LP 2000) while Bakura get that points (Bakura LP 2450), then at the end of his turn the board spell another letter it's the letter E.
Production history
The Undying Grudge! is the 146th chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist. In the Japanese manga it is the 205th chapter of Yu-Gi-Oh!. It was first printed in Japanese in the V Jump magazine. It was reprinted in volume 23 of the Japanese graphic novels and volume 16 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist graphic novels in English.
Anime adaption
This Chapter was redone in the end of episode 82 and few at the start of episode 83 of the Yu-Gi-Oh! second series anime. a number of changed were made include:
- In the anime, Yugi summoned Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts instead of Berfomet.
- During the Duel, Bakura was still wearing his jacket.
- In the Manga, Dark Magician Girl's cleavage was shown her breasts more compare to the anime also in the anime the hexagram she wearing was changed to a pentagram. (in fact, those two changes in Dark Magician Girl always happened during the whole series).
- In the manga, Bakura didn't played Dark Sanctuary, all the effects of Dark Sanctuary was in fact the effects of Dark Necrofear which activate when it sent to the Graveyard.
- In the manga, when Bakura played Destiny Board a hologram of Dark Necrofear with the ouija board appeared above Bakura, it write the letters of the word Death at each end of Yugi's turns.
- In the manga, Bakura wasn't forced to Sacrifice monster to keep the dark spirit so he didn't sacrificed Earthbound Spirit and it remains for long time in the duel.
