The World Championship Series 2023 Regional Qualifiers was a competitive event in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel akin to the Duelist Cup events.
Unlike all other Events, it has no Loaners or deckbuilding restrictions. The Forbidden/Limited list follows the May 10 2023 Standard lists. The Duel time limit is set to 300 seconds.

Players all begin within Stage 1 that lasts for the whole duration of the event, and repeated wins allow them to increase their Duelist Level (DLv). Players who ended the previous Ranked season in higher ranks will start at a higher DLv. Those at DLv 4 or lower will still get to increase their DLv by completing a match without conceding, regardless of whether they won or lost. DLv will not decrease with losses until the player has reached DLv 15, and a player cannot de-rank below DLv 17 or 20 if they have reached that point.
+
It ran from 16 May 2023, 04:00 UTC through 29 May 2023, 03:59 UTC.

Those who have reached DLv 20 can take part in the Regional Qualifier round, starting from 26 May 2023, competing with other players who have come this far to increase their DP. At the end of the event, the top players from each region would then be invited to the World Championship Series 2023 Finals in Japan on 5 and 6 August 2023.

2nd Stage
 +
Event Details
 +
As in the 2nd Stage of the Duelist Cup, players will earn and lose Dueling Points (DP) through dueling other players.
 +
Some specifics regarding how much DP changes are shown below:
 +
* The greater the difference between opposing players, the greater the DP gain/loss will be for the winner/loser.
 +
* Victories provide at minimum 1000 DP to the winner with no theoretical upper limit.
 +
* Defeats take away at maximum 1200 DP from the loser.
 +
* Players with at most 9000 DP will lose less DP if they lose.
 +

 +
Throughout the event, players are evaluated on their DP on a leaderboard.
 +
After the event is finished, this final tally is considered along with each player's performance relative to those performing in the same defined area:
 +
* Area A: Japan
 +
* Area B: Asia
 +
* Area C: North America
 +
* Area D: Latin America
 +
* Area E: Europe/Middle East/Oceania/Africa
 +

 +
Of which, Areas A, C, and E have 2 representative players each (1st and 2nd) and Areas B and D have 1 representative each (1st) chosen for a total of 8 players.
 +

 +
These top 8 players must choose 2 other players from their home area to form a team of 3 and hence forth be invited to the WCS 2023 Finals at the Tokyo Big Sight on 5-6 August 2023.
 +
Rules regarding these other 2 players are as follows:
 +
* They also cannot be representatives themselves.
 +
* They (and any representative) cannot also be participating in the Duel Links or TCG finals.
 +
* They must be DLv. MAX.
 +

 +
After final calculations, in the circumstance that multiple players share the same DP, the criteria is identical to that of the Duelist Cup.

WCS 2023 Qualifiers

The World Championship Series 2023 Regional Qualifiers was a competitive event in Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel akin to the Duelist Cup events.

It ran from 16 May 2023, 04:00 UTC through 29 May 2023, 03:59 UTC.

1st Stage[edit]

Event Details[edit]

This event plays identical to that the Duelist Cup and has no Loaner Decks or specialized banlist. The Forbidden/Limited list follows the Standard at the time.

Players must all begin within Stage 1 which lasts for the whole duration of the event and repeated wins allow them to increase their Duelist Level (DLv.). Those at DLv. 3 or lower will increase their DLv. by completing a match without conceding, regardless of whether they won or lost. Players below DLv. 16 will not have their Level decrease with losses, and they cannot de-rank below DLv. 17 or MAX (20) if they have obtained them.[1]

Those who have reached DLv. MAX can take part in Stage 2, the Regional Qualifiers round, starting from 26 May 2023, 04:00 UTC.

Players begin at a higher starting DLv. and automatically earn all rewards from previous DLv. depending on the Rank that they ended the April 2023 season (Season 16) with:

 • Rookie/Bronze → DLv. 1
 • Silver → DLv. 3
 • Gold → DLv. 5
 • Platinum → DLv. 7
 • Diamond → DLv. 10

Rewards[edit]

Whenever Legacy Tickets would be earned through Duel Result, there is a chance that Special Reward Tickets will be awarded instead.[2]

2nd Stage[edit]

Event Details[edit]

As in the 2nd Stage of the Duelist Cup, players will earn and lose Dueling Points (DP) through dueling other players. Some specifics regarding how much DP changes are shown below:[4]

 • The greater the difference between opposing players, the greater the DP gain/loss will be for the winner/loser.
 • Victories provide at minimum 1000 DP to the winner with no theoretical upper limit.
 • Defeats take away at maximum 1200 DP from the loser.
 • Players with at most 9000 DP will lose less DP if they lose.

Throughout the event, players are evaluated on their DP on a leaderboard. After the event is finished, this final tally is considered along with each player's performance relative to those performing in the same defined area:

 • Area A: Japan
 • Area B: Asia
 • Area C: North America
 • Area D: Latin America
 • Area E: Europe/Middle East/Oceania/Africa

Of which, Areas A, C, and E have 2 representative players each (1st and 2nd) and Areas B and D have 1 representative each (1st) chosen for a total of 8 players.

These top 8 players must choose 2 other players from their home area to form a team of 3 and hence forth be invited to the WCS 2023 Finals at the Tokyo Big Sight on 5-6 August 2023. Rules regarding these other 2 players are as follows:[5]

 • They also cannot be representatives themselves.
 • They (and any representative) cannot also be participating in the Duel Links or TCG finals.
 • They must be DLv. MAX.

After final calculations, in the circumstance that multiple players share the same DP, the criteria is identical to that of the Duelist Cup.
