Summary
This summary is currently incomplete. |
Jaden Yuki reaches the top of Yubel's tower, accompanied by Syrus Truesdale, Ojama Yellow, Dr. Crowler and Winged Kuriboh. Yubel is waiting for him and is still possessing Jesse Anderson. Having just absorbed the darkness of heart inside Adrian Gecko and recovered her strength, Yubel laughs when questioned about Adrian's Duel Disk, still on the ground after his defeat. Jaden demands that Yubel release Jesse, but she refuses. This worries Jaden, as if he wins, there's a possibility Jesse would die, but not Yubel. Jaden receives encouragement from the spirits of his monsters, and the Duel begins, with Syrus commenting that Jaden has no chance if he still can't use "Polymerization".
Jaden draws "Polymerization" on his first turn, and finally brings himself to activate it. When he does, memories of all those he's lost in this conflict come flooding back, but these memories only spurn him onwards and he resolves once more to save Jesse. He Summons "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman", and attacks, and uses the opportunity to attempt to mentally reach out to Jesse, trying to pierce the darkness around his heart. Unable to find him, he concludes that Jesse's soul was removed from his body, and believes that since Jesse's soul was so powerful, the "Rainbow Dragon" card would be the most likely place for Yubel to have placed it. When Yubel finally Summons "Rainbow Dark Dragon", Jaden is proven correct, as after a direct attack, he is able to hear Jesse's voice calling him from within it. Jaden promises to save him, but is left with only 300 life-points and no monsters out to do so.
Featured Duel
Turn 1: Jesse/Yubel
- Activates "Advanced Dark": Any "Advanced Crystal Beast" monsters can be switched with original "Crystal Beast" monsters, provided those monsters have the same name, and Jesse can reduce Battle Damage to 0 if that battle involves an "Advanced Crystal Beast" that he controls by sending another "Advanced Crystal Beast" from his Deck to the Graveyard. If "Advanced Dark" is destroyed, then all "Advanced Crystal Beast" monsters that Jesse controls will also be destroyed.[Notes 1]
- Summons "Advanced Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle" (1400/800) in Attack Position.
Turn 2: Jaden
- Activates "Polymerization", fusing "Elemental Hero Avian" and "Elemental Hero Burstinatrix" to Fusion Summon "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman" (2100/1200) in Attack Position.
- "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman" attacks "Advanced Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle".
- Jesse uses "Advanced Dark's" effect, sending "Advanced Crystal Beast Emerald Tortoise" from his Deck to the Graveyard, so that he takes no Battle Damage.
- After being destroyed, "Advanced Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle" is placed in the Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card. As the monster did not go to the Graveyard, the effect of "Flame Wingman", which would have inflicted damage to Jesse equal to the ATK of "Advanced Crystal Beast Cobalt Eagle", does not activate.
- Sets a card.
Turn 3: Jesse/Yubel
- Summons "Advanced Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus" (1800/1200) in Attack Position.
- When summoned, "Advanced Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus" allows Jesse to place 1 "Advanced Crystal Beast" or original "Crystal Beast" monster in his Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card. He targets "Advanced Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle".
- Since it is in the Spell & Trap Card Zone, "Advanced Crystal Beast Ruby Carbuncle" Special Summons itself to a Monster Card Zone (300/300). This activates its effect, which Special Summons all "Crystal Beast" and "Advanced Crystal Beast" monsters from the Spell & Trap Card Zone. As such, "Cobalt Eagle" is also summoned back as a monster (1400/800).
- Equips "Crystal Release" to "Sapphire Pegasus": It gains 800 ATK (2600/1200). Also, if "Crystal Release" is sent to the Graveyard from the field, Jesse can place a "Crystal Beast" (or "Advanced Crystal Beast") monster from his Deck into his Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card.
- "Sapphire Pegasus" attacks and destroys "Flame Wingman" (Jaden: 4000 → 3500).
- "Cobalt Eagle" and "Ruby Carbuncle" attacks Jaden directly (Jaden: 3500 → 2100 → 1800).
Turn 4: Jaden
- Summons "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole" (900/300) in Attack Position.
- Activates his face-down "Common Sacrifice", allowing him to send his opponent's two weakest monsters to the Graveyard ("Cobalt Eagle" and "Ruby Carbuncle") to Special Summon "Elemental Hero Neos" (2500/2000) in Attack Position.
- "Neo-Spacian Grand Mole" attacks "Advanced Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus", with its effect returning both monsters to the owners' hands without applying damage calculation.
- "Crystal Release" activates upon being sent from the field to the Graveyard (since "Sapphire Pegasus" was removed from the field): Jesse places "Advanced Crystal Beast Amber Mammoth" in his Spell & Trap Card Zone, as a Continuous Spell Card.
- "Elemental Hero Neos" attacks Jesse directly (Jesse: 4000 → 1500).
- Sets a card.
Turn 5: Jesse/Yubel
- Summons "Advanced Crystal Beast Sapphire Pegasus" (1800/1200) in Attack Position.
- Uses "Sapphire Pegasus'" effect again, enabling him to target "Advanced Crystal Beast Amethyst Cat" and place it in the Spell & Trap Card Zone as a Continuous Spell Card.
- Activates "Crystal Beacon": Since 2 "Crystal Beast" monsters are in his Spell & Trap Card Zone, Jesse is allowed to Special Summon an "Advanced Crystal Beast" monster from his Deck. He targets "Advanced Crystal Beast Topaz Tiger" (1600/1000). Also, since "Crystal Beacon" has successfully resolved, Jaden draws 1 card.[Notes 2]
- With 7 differently named "Advanced Crystal Beast" monsters now either on the field or in the Graveyard, Jesse Special Summons "Rainbow Dark Dragon" (4000/0) from his hand. With "Advanced Dark" in play, "Rainbow Dark Dragon" can negate the effects of any monster it attacks, while its own effect prevents itself from being destroyed if Jesse sends an "Advanced Crystal Beast" monster from the Spell & Trap Card Zone to the Graveyard.[Notes 3]
- "Rainbow Dark Dragon" attacks and destroys "Neos" (Jaden: 1800 → 300).
Duel continues in the next episode.

Notes
- ↑ In the OCG/TCG, "Advanced Dark" would not destroy "Crystal Beast" monsters if destroyed itself; also, the card allows the attribute of "Crystal Beast" monsters on the field or in the Graveyard to be treated as DARK, and enables the user to take no Battle Damage from a battle involving a "Crystal Beast" monster by sending another "Crystal Beast" monster from their Deck to the Graveyard.
- ↑ In the TCG/OCG, "Crystal Beacon" does not allow your opponent to draw cards after resolving.
- ↑ In the TCG/OCG, "Rainbow Dark Dragon" cannot be Special Summoned unless 7 differently named DARK monsters are removed from play from your Graveyard, and it does not have effects that prevent it from being destroyed.
