The Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal finally opens! Yuga, who comes to the venue to support the team of Luke, Gavin, and Romin, is urged by Luke to take Asana's place, who did not show up to the tournament. Then, a man comes out of a crowd and challenges Yuga to a Duel.

SummaryEdit

Yuga, Romin and Gavin notice someone in the crowd...

Prioria Sweetalina greets all the modern people sitting in front of their TVs, explaining that the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal will be held at Goha Stadium; this is a Rush Dueling tournament sponsored by Goha Enterprises, who will officially crown the winner the King of Duels; and she's so excited that she's getting fired up. As Goha Enterprises Drones and applicants alike swarm around Goha Stadium, Romin asks if all these people will be entering the tournament. Gavin notes that it seems so, and Luke spots Saburamen's team; him, Briscoe and Sushiko, Scoop's team, who are interviewing Janko Entant and his Student Council aides from Goha #6 Elementary, Diggs's team (with Tracker striding proudly in front of him and Trench, the Duelstronauts and the Post-Apocalyptic Trio...and Rush Duel Soft Serve and Grilled Rush, two desserts he eagerly begins chowing down on, much to Romin's exasperation as Yuga and Gavin smile nervously. But Romin is soon drawn in by mascots Kid Goha and Lil' Rush, and Gavin can only praise the marketing, admitting that a Goha-sponsored tournament is on an entirely different scale. As Yuga agrees, Luke tells him that he can always be a starting player for their team if he changes his mind about entering the tournament. Yuga reassures Luke that he's fine just cheering them on, but Luke tells him not to be shy; Gavin could step down and become the head of their cheering squad, or Romin could be a cheerleader. Neither Gavin or Romin are happy with that, but as Luke boasts about having a specialized cheering squad of seventy people, Yuga, Romnin and Gavin all notice a tall man in a cloak walking through the crowd, and they hurry off and leave Luke to his boasting.

Mimi asks Yuga if the tournament was his idea.

In Goha Stadium, Goha's secretary comments on the notion of using the popularity of Rush Duels to help Goha Enterprises given that they have grown too big to be destroyed and admits his amazement at the idea. The President Drone simply chuckles, and the secretary adds that Goha Enterprises can simply claim to have spontaneously created Rush Dueling, as the cries of an insect like Yuga Ohdo would be drowned out by the general public. The President Drone chuckles again, and Goha's secretary interprets it as a request for a Mitarashi Rush Duel take-out from the Food corner and heads off to fulfil Goha's request. As the secretary leaves, Mimi muses that the secretary thought the tournament was her idea and asks the President Drone if it has discovered who sent the notebook that contained the tournament proposal, and the President Drone admits that it hasn't, having been trying to discreetly probe the employees. Mimi wonders who sent it, but is shocked when Yuga sees her and immediately identifies her, though he, Romin and Gavin think that she's just cosplaying as Kid Goha. Gavin asks if she saw a suspicious-looking man come this way, Yuga adding that he might be trying to disrupt the tournament, but as Mimi tries to dispel their belief she's under the cloak and helmet she remembers the title of Yuga's notebook; "A Notebook of All the Secrets of Rush Duels", while the proposal was titled "My Best, Most Awesome Plan". Believing the titles to be too similar she rips off the President Drone and asks Yuga if the tournament was his idea. Yuga admits that it wasn't, but is surprised to learn that the tournament wasn't Goha Enterprises's idea, and a shocked Mimi jams the President Drone backwards on her head, sweating profusely. Fortunately for Mimi, Prioria announces that it's almost time for team registrations and she encourages everyone to sign up, and Luke finally finds his friends and urges them to come and sign up with him, leaving Mimi to sweatdrop under the President Drone.

Galian and Schubel are unable to enter Pidgetrap into the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal.

Luke, Gavin and Romin are registered as Team King Luke's Kings, and Luke cries that now they just have to win, though Romin is a bit confused by their team name. Then they hear Galian and Schubel voicing outrage that someone isn't allowed to participate in the tournament in an era where diversity and representation are so important - they're talking about Pidgetrap, who the tournament staff point out is an animal and bar from entering. Yuga, Luke, Romin and Gavin convene with Galian, Schubel and Pidgetrap, and Yuga asks why Asana isn't entering the tournament. Galian explains that she called them claiming to have developed a fever from her excitement, but encouraged them to enter without her as they had been looking forward to the tournament and suggested that Pidgetrap take her place so they could bring back the spoils of victory, though Schubel asks how they can show their faces now and hangs his head as Pidgetrap coos sadly. As Yuga and his friends look at them sadly, Luke finally brings himself to make a suggestion; Yuga can take Asana's place. Galian asks if they wouldn't rather have Yuga on their team, and Luke admits that he would, but the Luke inside him would never forgive him for letting his friends suffer while he climbed to the top, even if Luke himself did. Schubel and Galian are shocked by the prospect, though Yuga protests that he wasn't planning on entering anyway, but the overheard suggestion of Yuga teaming up with the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club as already drawn a crowd of onlookers, including children eager to Duel the creator of Rush Dueling. Poor Yuga can only protest that he's only spectating.

Otes reveals himself.

A voice asks if Yuga would Duel him instead, and the crowd parts to reveal the cloaked man standing down the path, and he throws off his cloak to reveal himself, holding his Duel Disk. Galian and Schubel recognize him from Yuga's Rush Duel in the Big Seven Arena that they watched while excavating in an abandoned school, and Luke cries that it's Otes. He tells everyone that there's no need to be shocked, as Otes is just a hologram, but Pidgetrap flies over and perches on Otes' mask, much to Luke's shock (Romin asking him who the most shocked is now despite his warning). Yuga asks Otes what he's doing here and Otes comments that a Rush Duel Tournament is a joyous occasion, so he thought about sending some flowers. Yuga asks if Otes is trying to manipulate him again, but Otes call the notion preposterous and claims that he thought Yuga would like to know something; the true meaning of this tournament. Yuga tries to ask what Otes means, but Otes tells him that he will have to see the Road beyond a Duel and straps on his Duel Disk. Yuga grins, commenting that he'll have to face this, and he straps on his own Duel Disk, claiming that he'll hear what Otes has to say after he wins this Duel. Otes proudly states that's how it should be for one who walks the Road to the King's throne, and they both insert their Decks into their Duel Disks and call "Rush Duel!" deploying the blades of their Duel Disks and the green holographic dome.

Otes declares that he will take the first turn, drawing and then examining his hand, containing "Archfiend's Revival", "Majinrai, the Striking Storm", two copies of "Feral Imp", and "Summoned Skull". He Summons "Feral Imp" and then immediately Tributes it, chanting "The one who drinks deep of Hell's darkness and gives birth to chaos. The apex to whom even Solomon looks upon with fear! Now is the time to dye all light with the colors of destruction! Come forth! I summon Summoned Skull!" The skeletal fiend appears with 2500 ATK, much to the shock of Yuga's friends and the wonder of the other onlookers. Otes tells them to behold this rare Fiend card that has dark powers for confusing the enemy, and Galian gasps that it has the highest known ATK of a Level 6 monster, while Luke notes that it doesn't have an effect, but its ferocity matches that of "Dragias", and he politely bows to Otes, calling him impressive as always from bringing out such a high-Level Fiend monster. Otes chuckles, and he sends the other "Feral Imp" from his hand to the Graveyard to activate a Spell Card that requires "Summoned Skull" on the field; "Majinrai, the Striking Storm". Yuga is shocked at the notion of a card that specifically requires "Summoned Skull", and Otes explains that it will deal him 1300 damage as "Summoned Skull" crushes the "Feral Imp" card in its claws and fires a dark twister at Yuga, blasting him off his feet and reducing him to 2700 LP. Romin is shocked that Yuga has already taken so much damage on the first turn, and Gavin notes that Otes is playing a relentless Duel as always. Otes Sets a card and ends his turn, and the watching children cheer his moves.

Yuga brings out "Sevens Road Magician" and "Sevens Road Witch".

Yuga gets to his feet with a grin, declares his turn, and draws, then examines his hand; containing "Fire Golem, "Kuribot", "Sevens Road Magician", "Sevens Road Witch", and "Mystic Dealer". He Summons "Mystic Dealer" and then activates its effect, sending a Spellcaster from his hand to the Graveyard to draw a card. Then he Tributes "Mystic Dealer" to Tribute Summon "Sevens Road Witch", whose appearance the crowd cheers. Yuga then sends "Kuribot" from his hand to the Graveyard to activate the "Magical Sevens Call" effect of "Sevens Road Witch", and his friends cry out in delight as they realize what Yuga is doing. Yuga chants "The walls, the mountains, and even the planets that block my way—! Cut open a road through them and press onward! Let's go! Sevens Road Magician!" "Sevens Road Witch" gains 400 ATK from her own effect, rising to 2000, and then Yuga activates the "Elemental Road" effect of "Sevens Road Magician". Schubel takes note of the Attributes of the monsters in Yuga's Graveyard; the WATER "Mystic Dealer", the FIRE "Fire Golem", DARK "Kuribot" and EARTH "Straynge Cat", which Galian declares will total a 1200 ATK increase, bringing "Sevens Road Magician" to 3300 ATK. Otes smiles as the other children call this Yuga's usual "King's Road" strategy, and Yuga Sets a card and declares his Battle Phase, attacking "Summoned Skull" with "Sevens Road Magician", who carves "Summoned Skull" in two and reduces Otes to 3200 LP.

"Summoned Skull" reincarnates.

Otes shields himself from the attack, but then he grins and activates a Trap Card, "Archfiend's Revival", which Gavin and Romin realize in shock can only be activated when "Summoned Skull" is destroyed. Otes smiles and he explains that it will allow him to reincarnate a Normal Monster from his Graveyard. "Summoned Skull" returns to the field, Gavin gasping that it has reincarnated. Yuga can only end his turn in frustration, returning the ATK of his two "Sevens Road" monsters to normal, and the watching children gasp that the Duel is neck and neck and they can't stop watching. Galian observes that Otes's reincarnation of "Summoned Skull" allowed him to block the follow-up attack of "Sevens Road Witch" and he wonders if Otes is a demon handler.

Otes prevents "Summoned Skull" from being destroyed by card effects for the turn.

Otes declares his turn and draws "Delight of the Mighty", "Maraimei, the Igniting Inferno", "Rogue of Archfiend", his third "Feral Imp", and "Masenkou, the Lashing Light". He activates another Spell that can only be used while he controls "Summoned Skull"; "Masenkou, the Lashing Light", much to Romin's surprise, and explains that it will destroy all Level 8 or lower monsters Yuga controls. "Sevens Road Witch" and "Sevens Rod Magician" shatter into yellows shards, much to the horror of Schubel, Galian, Luke, Romin and Gavin, but Yuga isn't worried, as he still has his best trump card; "Dark Revelation". But Otes smiles and he Summons "Rogue of Archfiend", before sending it to the Graveyard to activate its effect, a prospect that concerns Gavin. Otes explains that his Fiend monsters cannot be destroyed by card effects for the rest of this turn and Yuga gasps in fear as "Summoned Skull" is shrouded in darkness. Luke is shocked that Otes's monster sacrificed itself just to protect "Summoned Skull", while Romin asks if that was the only reason Otes Summoned it. Otes Sets two cards, before attacking Yuga directly with the reincarnated "Summoned Skull", which leaps into the air and attacks with "Lightning Strike", reducing Yuga to 200 LP. Romin gasps that Yuga managed to survive, though Gavin notes he's only hanging on by a thread and will be done for if he slips up. Then to their surprise the children in the crowd begin doubting Yuga's skills and that he created Rush Dueling, suggesting that Goha may have instead. Luke angrily asks if Yuga is just going to let them say that, but Yuga doesn't reply.

Otes notes that it's true that the world of Rush Dueling has become larger then when he last showed Yuga the Road to becoming the King of Duels, recalling his appearance at the Big Seven Arena, Yuga's first Maximum Summon, and "Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord" clashing with "Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco". But is that it, and does Yuga's Road really end here? He's just going to "watch" the tournament, is he? He comments that a bystander is someone who has stopped walking and warns Yuga that Rush Dueling may someday become as strict and rigid as Goha Dueling, and doesn't Yuga have a duty to make sure that it doesn't - a duty as the creator of Rush Dueling? Yuga grits his teeth, but then he smiles and he admits that when Otes puts it like that, he can't afford to just stand around.

He declares his turn and draws "Sevens Twin Burst", "Curtain of Sparks", "Whispering Fairy", "Sevens Road Warlock", and "Light Sorcerer", Summoning "Light Sorcerer" and then Tributing it to Tribute Summon. He chants "All of the closed doors, hearts, and even fates! I'll smash through it all with my road! Let's go! Sevens Road Warlock!" "Sevens Road Warlock" appears with 1100 ATK, and Romin, Gavin and Luke gasp in pleasant surprise as Luke cries that it's a new "Sevens Road". Yuga sends a Trap Card from his hand to the Graveyard to activate the "Sevens Reincarnation" effect of "Sevens Road Warlock", piquing Otes' interest as "Sevens Road Warlock" is surrounded by flames. Yuga explains that he can add a Level 7 or higher DARK Spellcaster monster from his Graveyard to his hand, and as he returns "Sevens Road Magician" to his hand, he notes that since he added "Sevens Road Magician" he can add an extra Level 6 or higher Spellcaster too, returning "Sevens Road Witch" to his hand as his friends all react in joy. Yuga Tributes "Sevens Road Warlock" to Tribute Summon "Sevens Road Witch", but since he Summoned a monster Otes activates the Fiend-supporting Trap "Delight of the Mighty", increasing the ATK and DEF of "Summoned Skull" by the Level of the Summoned monster x 100 until the end of the turn. Schubel notes that Yuga's "Sevens Road Witch" is Level 6, while Gavin observes that "Summoned Skull" will gain 600 ATK and DEF until the end of the turn as "Summoned Skull" powers up to 3100 ATK. Yuga remains calm, sending "Whispering Fairy" from his hand to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Sevens Road Witch" and Special Summon "Sevens Road Magician", then increase the ATK of "Sevens Road Witch" by 400, back to 2000. Schubel, Galian and Pidgetrap all celebrate, but Otes activates another Trap Card; "Maraimei, the Igniting Inferno", which inflicts 100 damage to him for every monster in Yuga's Graveyard. Yuga gasps in shock as Romin and Schubel note that there are seven monsters in Yuga's Graveyard ("Mystic Dealer", "Fire Golem", "Kuribot", "Straynge Cat", "Light Sorcerer", "Sevens Road Warlock", and "Whispering Fairy"). Otes is engulfed in purple light and falls to 2500 LP as Gavin asks why he would use a Trap that damages himself. But Schubel realizes why, and Otes confirms that all of the monsters in Yuga's Graveyard will be returned to his Deck. Galian realizes that this is what Otes was after, Romin lamenting Yuga's empty Graveyard and Gavin notes that now "Sevens Road Magician" can't use its effect. Galian, Schubel and Pidgetrap believe that it's all over, but Luke tells them it's not even close to being over, as Yuga wouldn't let something like this slow him down.

Yuga agrees; the potential for Rush Dueling isn't over yet, and it can go further and get bigger and bigger. Otes smiles proudly as Yuga activates the Spell Card "Sevens Twin Burst" since he has both "Sevens Road Magician" and "Sevens Road Witch" on his field. Romin, Luke and Gavin gasp that Yuga also has a specific-use card, and Yuga explain that it will increase the ATK of "Sevens Road Magician" by the ATK of "Sevens Road Witch", which Gavin and Romin realize will be a 2000 ATK increase. Luke laughs that Yuga really is an incredible guy, and Otes smiles as "Sevens Road Magician" is surrounded by flaming energy and rises to 4100 ATK. First Yuga orders "Sevens Road Magician" to destroy "Summoned Skull" with "Sevens Magic", and "Sevens Road Magician" summons its seven stars and blows "Summoned Skull" away with a blast of fiery energy, reducing Otes to 1500 ATK. Then he orders the direct attack of "Sevens Road Witch" to finish it; "Sevens Punish", surrounding Otes in rings. As Otes is blasted back, he thinks in satisfaction that Yuga's Road has taken off from the ground and into the sky, and one day it will even fly towards the stars. His LP falls to zero as the Solid Vision fades.

Otes is arrested.

A mysterious man searches the Mutsuba's mine for something.

As the other children leave, Gavin asks Otes what he meant about the true meaning of the tournament, but as Otes smiles, Luke comments that Yuga probably doesn't need the explanation. Yuga agrees, and he declares that he's done being a bystander; he'll win this tournament to discover its true meaning. Gavin, Romin and Luke all gasp in joy as they realize what Yuga intends to do, and Yuga asks Galian and Schubel if they mind him taking Asana's place in the tournament on the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club's team. Galian, Schubel and Pidgetrap promptly accept, and Yuga grins at Otes. But then four black Goha Enterprises Drones fly over, blaring alarms as tournament staff surround Otes, explaining that anyone who has ben disqualified from an official Goha-sponsored tournament may not enter a tournament venue and Otes will be confined according to the Code of Dueling's Chapter 666 Article 666. Luke says Otes' name sadly, but Otes simply proclaims that the role that Yuga should take will always be inside his heart, laughing as he is led away. As Galian and Schubel start up their Heavy Cavalry, Luke stands off to the side with Yuga, finally suggesting that they meet in the finals. Yuga agrees, and he holds out his hand, which Luke eventually clasps. Yuga then hops on the back of GG03 as they go to register (while confusing the poor staffer with their machinery) and Luke, Romin and Gavin watch them. Gavin and Romin suggest that they should go too, and Luke agrees.

Deep in the Mutsuba's mine, excavation Drones have a reading of 0.00 and request permission to strengthen their sensor output. A man in a suit and a mask emblazoned with a Goha-style 6 grants them their permission, and as the Drones begin to carry out their tasks, he declares that the 66 will now take over Goha - as Caterpillio Elephantis and a very much well Asana watch them from behind a ledge.

Featured Duel: Yuga Ohdo vs OtesEdit

The Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.

Turn 1: Otes
Otes's hand contains "Archfiend's Revival", "Majinrai, the Striking Storm", and two copies of "Feral Imp". Otes draws "Summoned Skull". Otes Normal Summons "Feral Imp" (1300/1400). Otis Tributes "Feral Imp" to Tribute Summon "Summoned Skull". As Otes controls a face-up "Summoned Skull" or Level 7 or higher Fiend Normal Monster, he activates the Spell "Majinrai, the Striking Storm", sending a Normal Monster from his hand to the Graveyard to inflict 1300 damage to Yuga. He sends the second copy of "Feral Imp" to the Graveyard (Yuga: 4000 → 2700 LP). Otes Sets a card.

Turn 2: Yuga
Yuga's hand contains "Fire Golem, "Kuribot", "Sevens Road Magician", "Sevens Road Witch", and "Mystic Dealer". Yuga Normal Summons "Mystic Dealer" (1000/0). Yuga activates the effect of "Mystic Dealer", sending a Spellcaster monster from his hand to the Graveyard to draw a card. He sends "Fire Golem" to the Graveyard and draws "Dark Revelation". Yuga Tributes "Mystic Dealer" to Tribute Summon "Sevens Road Witch" (1600/1000). Yuga activates the effect of "Sevens Road Witch", sending a card from his hand to the Graveyard to Special Summon a Level 7 or higher DARK Spellcaster monster from his hand, and if he Special Summons "Sevens Road Magician", then "Sevens Road Witch" gains 400 ATK until the end of the turn. Yuga sends "Kuribot" to the Graveyard and Special Summons "Sevens Road Magician" in Attack Position (2100/1500) ("Sevens Road Witch": 1600/1000 → 2000/1000). Yuga activates the effect of "Sevens Road Magician", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to have it gain 300 ATK for each monster with a different Attribute in his Graveyard. He sends "Straynge Cat" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard, so he has four monsters with different Attributes in his Graveyard ("Sevens Road Magician": 2100/1500 → 3300/1500). Yuga Sets a card. "Sevens Road Magician" attacks and destroys "Summoned Skull" (Otes: 4000 → 3200 LP). As a "Summoned Skull" or a Level 7 or higher Fiend Normal Monster Otes controls was destroyed by battle, he activates his Set Trap "Archfiend's Revival", Special Summoning a Normal Monster from his Graveyard. He Special Summons "Summoned Skull" in Attack Position (2500/1200).

Turn 3: Otes
Otes draws "Delight of the Mighty", "Maraimei, the Igniting Inferno", "Rogue of Archfiend", "Feral Imp", and "Masenkou, the Lashing Light". As he controls "Summoned Skull", Otes activates the Spell "Masenkou, the Lashing Light", sending a Fiend Normal Monster from his hand to the Graveyard to destroy all Level 8 or lower monsters Yuga controls, but only "Summoned Skull" can attack this turn. He sends "Feral Imp" to the Graveyard and destroys "Sevens Road Magician" and "Sevens Road Witch". Yuga's Set card is "Dark Revelation". Otes Normal Summons "Rogue of Archfiend" (1200/1100). Otes activates the effect of "Rogue of Archfiend", sending it to the Graveyard to choose up to two Fiend monsters he controls and prevent them from being destroyed by Yuga's card effects this turn. He chooses "Summoned Skull". Otes Sets two cards. "Summoned Skull" attacks Yuga directly (Yuga: 2700 → 200 LP).

Turn 4: Yuga
Yuga draws "Sevens Twin Burst", "Curtain of Sparks", "Whispering Fairy", "Sevens Road Warlock", and "Light Sorcerer". Yuga Normal Summons "Light Sorcerer" (1500/0). Yuga Tributes "Light Sorcerer" to Tribute Summon "Sevens Road Warlock" (1100/1700). Yuga activates the effect of "Sevens Road Warlock", sending a Trap from his hand to the Graveyard to choose a Level 7 or higher DARK Spellcaster monster in his Graveyard and add it to his hand, then if he added "Sevens Road Magician" to his hand with this effect, he can also add a Level 6 or higher Spellcaster monster from his Graveyard to his hand. He sends "Curtain of Sparks" to the Graveyard and adds "Sevens Road Magician" to his hand, so he also adds "Sevens Road Witch" to his hand. Yuga Tributes "Sevens Road Warlock" to Tribute Summon "Sevens Road Witch" (1600/1000). As Yuga Normal Summoned a monster, Otes activates his Set Trap "Delight of the Mighty", choosing a Normal Monster he controls and increasing its ATK and DEF by the Level of the Summoned monster x 100 until the end of the turn. He chooses "Summoned Skull" ("Summoned Skull": 2500/1200 → 3100/1800). Yuga sends "Whispering Fairy" to the Graveyard and Special Summons "Sevens Road Magician" in Attack Position (2100/1500) ("Sevens Road Witch": 1600/1000 → 2000/1000). As Otes controls "Summoned Skull" or a Level 7 or higher Fiend Normal Monster and Yuga Special Summoned a monster, he activates his Set Trap "Maraimei, the Igniting Inferno", taking 100 damage for every monster in Yuga's Graveyard, then returning those monsters to the Deck. There are seven monsters in Yuga's Graveyard ("Mystic Dealer", "Fire Golem", "Kuribot", "Straynge Cat", "Light Sorcerer", "Sevens Road Warlock" and "Whispering Fairy"), so Otes takes 700 damage (Otes: 3200 → 2500 LP), then those seven monsters are returned to Yuga's Deck. As the only monsters Yuga controls are one each of "Sevens Road Magician" and "Sevens Road Witch", he activates the Spell "Sevens Twin Burst", increasing the ATK of "Sevens Road Magician" by the ATK of "Sevens Road Witch" until the end of the turn ("Sevens Road Magician": 2100/1500 → 4100/1500). "Sevens Road Magician" attacks and destroys "Summoned Skull" (Otes: 2500 → 1500 LP). "Sevens Road Witch" attacks Otes directly (Otes: 1500 → 0 LP)
