Sartyr (Tag Force)

Sartyr, known in Japan as Kabayama (かばやま, Kabayama) is a character in Yu-Gi-Oh! GX Tag Force. This is a video game depiction of Sartyr from the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime.

Biography[edit]

Sartyr can be found at the Ra Yellow dormitory. If the player tries to duel against him, he will point out he does not duel at all, and then state he sees many similarities between himself and Bastion Misawa.

Appearances[edit]

Sartyr offers the player the chance to obtain alternative artworks for specific cards through a lottery. After obtaining a card from him, its artwork can be changed by using the L and R buttons when checking the card in the Deck Edit or Card Album menus.

For cards with multiple alternative artworks, obtaining that card from Sartyr will unlock all of its artworks.

Sartyr will not tell the player whether they can still obtain any new cards from any Lottery, and he also will not tell them if they have obtained all alternative artworks he gives out.

Tag Force[edit]

When Sartyr is first talked to during Part 3, he will give the player their first alternative artwork, "Gaia The Fierce Knight", for free. For subsequent ones, the player has to give Sartyr 11 Genex Medallions, and he will then give the player a choice between 4 lottery groups. Each of these groups has a total of 9 cards to obtain, and if the player would obtain a card they already have, the player gets nothing instead.

Tag Force 2[edit]

Sartyr accepts 100 DP as payment for the variant card lottery, and the player can now obtain alternative artworks from the beginning of the game.

The alternative artworks for "Polymerization" and "Acid Trap Hole" were removed from Lottery D. Those two cards, as well as "Gaia The Fierce Knight", are now randomly obtained when first talking to Sartyr after beginning a new storyline.

Alternative artworks for "Cyber Dragon" and "Cyber End Dragon" were introduced, both in Lottery D.

Tag Force 3[edit]

The variant card lottery is largely the same as in Tag Force 2, with one difference - "Big Shield Gardna" was removed from Lottery C. The card now uses its second artwork by default, and its first artwork is no longer available. No card was added to Lottery C to replace it.

"Gaia The Fierce Knight", "Polymerization" and "Acid Trap Hole" can be randomly obtained the first time Sartyr is talked to during a new storyline.
