The start of the next Duel of the Battle City Finals is about to begin. Joey Wheeler is selected to face against Odion Ishtar, who has tricked everyone into thinking that he is in fact Marik Ishtar. For the purposes of the duel, Marik has placed a copy of the "Winged Dragon of Ra" card into Odion's deck.

Featured Duel: Joey Wheeler vs. Odion Ishtar - Part 1

Turn 1: Joey

Turn 2: Odion

Sets 2 cards.

Turn 3: Joey

(NOTE: In the real game Tiny Guardian is called Little-Winguard).

Turn 4: Odion

Turn 5: Joey

(NOTE: The real "Judgment of Anubis" would only destroy one of Joey's monsters, and inflict the full ATK to his Life Points as well as only activate against the Spell Card that would destroy the owner's card.)

Turn 6: Odion

Turn 7: Joey

Turn 8: Odion

Turn 9: Joey

Turn 10: Odion

Turn 11: Joey

(NOTE: In the real game Fairy Box is a Trap Card and it lets you toss a coin, if you guess right the attacking monster's ATK points become 0 but if you are wrong then the battle continues. Also as long as Fairy Box remains face-up on the Field, you can choose to pay 500 Life Points to keep it on the Field or destroy it without paying any Life Points).

Duel continues next episode.

Changes to the English Version

  • In the US version, Giant Trunade is shown traveling across the screen in front of Odion's face as he explains what happened.
  • Right after Mai's close-up, a shot of Odion looking fierce in the US version replaces a shot of Yugi, Mai and Tea's backs. Note that the shot of Odion is reversed—his tattoo's on the wrong side of his face.
  • A shot of Joey getting all wound up is cut from the US version.
  • A shot of the gang reacting to Jounouchi's boasts is cut from the US version.
  • The words "To Be Continued" are added at the end of the dub episode.
