Kellenbocker, Mackendrick |
McKendrick Kellenbocker, known as Makoto Kimishima (君島マコト Kimishima Makoto) in the Japanese version, is a character appearing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime. He is a childhood friend of George Gore and a hacker, causing him to be targeted by Dr. Genome during the Hanoi Incident.
Appearance[edit]
McKendrick has black hair, and black eyes. He wears the Den City High School uniform. In LINK VRAINS, he has the same hairstyle, but in blond. His outfit is yellow, green and black, somewhat similar to the colors of Playmaker's outfit.
Biography[edit]
History[edit]
McKendrick and George Gore grew up together in an orphanage. Gore protected McKendrick from bullies, while McKendrick taught Gore to see the beauty in the world. They remained in contact in their teenage years despite differing occupations; Gore becoming a Celebrity Duelist and McKendrick developing hacking and Dueling skills from Gore's teachings. He learned to stand up for himself through Dueling.[1]
Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS[edit]
Due to his Dueling and hacking skills and his old model of Duel Disk, McKendrick was targeted by Dr. Genome of the Knights of Hanoi, who was searching for Playmaker. He was forcibly logged into LINK VRAINS and interrogated by Genome, who believed that he might be Playmaker and asked about an Ignis in his Duel Disk. Genome Deleted McKendrick, causing his Avatar to fall off a cliff, but he was saved by Gore. In the real world, Yusaku Fujiki had gone to look for McKendrick knowing that he would be targeted, and he quickly called paramedics to take him to the hospital.[1]
