Summary

Wrath of Blue-Eyes White Dragon

  • Aknadin has just sent the white-haired girl to battle with the other Shadow Monsters, in order to unleash the true power of her Ka.
    • However, the girl seems to be too terrorized to fight back.
      • Eventually, Priest Seto has had enough: he Summons "Duos" and steps into the arena to defend the girl (NOTE: in the original Japanese, Seto asks the girl's name and we finally identify her as Kisara).
  • Seto orders "Duos" to unleash its Aura Sword attack, thus cutting the chains suspending the arena platforms. The two criminals who are battling fall to their doom, while Seto & the girl just barely hang on to a chain.
    • However, one of the criminals has been saved by the webs spun by his creature ("Spider"). And he is about to deliver the final blow to Seto & the girl!
      • Then, the girl's eyes start glowing and she emanates a very bright aura: she is calling on the power of the White Dragon.
        • White Lightning Attack destroys the criminal & his monster.

Seto, Aknadin, and the Throne of Egypt

  • "Do you have any idea what we now hold in our hands?" says Aknadin. "That girl wields a beast with enough power to annhilate Bakura's "Diabound" with one blast. Of course we would need to take it from her, which would mean sealing her soul away in stone".
    • "Have you lost your mind?" replies Seto.
    • Aknadin: "Don't let your emotions cloud your reason Seto. That girl is your key to the throne".
    • Seto: "We already have a Pharaoh, and I intend to find him. Not replace him!"
    • Aknadin: "Don't waste your time! Rumor has it he lost his spirit in the Pit of Shadows. And Egypt cannot survive without a King. Do what's right for your country and take the throne."
    • Seto: "That is enough! I refuse to listen to another word of this. You have disgraced the name of the Pharaoh, and I won't be a part of it. My place is beside the throne, not upon the throne. And when I locate the Pharaoh that is where I shall stand. Now if you'll excuse me."
    • Aknadin: "Seto wait... Ah (to himself) If you will not seize your destiny, then I have no choice but to seize it for you... my son."

The Eighth Key

  • Meanwhile back at Kul Elna, Thief King Bakura is placing the Millennium Puzzle and Millennium Key into the Millennium Tablet.
    • Bakura: "As soon as all the 7 Millennium Items are returned to their final resting place, the doorway between this realm and the world beyond will be unlocked. Only then can Zorc the Dark One be released. The very being who created the Shadow Realm eons ago will return to envelop the world in darkness."
      • At this point, the hand of Zorc appears out of the tablet and seizes Bakura, ordering him to "Find the Eighth Key". Puzzled, Bakura starts to reflect on what this eigth key could be, and has a flashback of the Tablet of Lost Memories (the stone tablet brought to Domino City's museum by Ishizu Ishtar).
        • That's it!! Bakura seems to have found the identity of the eighth key. A brief shot of the cartouche section of the tablet is shown: could the eighth key simply be the Pharaoh's real name?

The Search for the Pharaoh continues

  • Meanwhile, Yugi & his friends are still busy looking for the Pharaoh. They arrive at the river Nile, and come across Mana practicing her magic (she's having a bit of trouble with a fish-immobilization spell)
    • It seems as if Mana can actually see Yugi & his friends too! She recognizes Yugi as the Pharaoh, but is puzzled as to why he shrunk so much and is dressed in strange clothes.
      • Meanwhile, Bobasa found the Pharaoh's blue cap floating in the Nile. That means he must be nearby!
  • At this point, the dark rider servants of Thief King Bakura arrive and charge!
    • However after some introductions and establishing that Yugi & his friends are indeed friends with the Pharaoh, Mana casts a giant wave spell and sweeps the riders away. They can then all resume their search for the Pharaoh.
      • Meanwhile Shada's men have picked up the trail of Bakura, all the while Isis's "Spiria" is still looking for the Pharaoh (NOTE: In the original Japanese and cut from the English dub, is also a scene featuring Karim and his men searching the river Nile).

The Truth about King Aknamkanon

  • The Pharaoh wakes up inside a cave, and thinks about Bakura said before about his father King Aknamkanon. Could he really be evil as Bakura described him?
    • The Pharaoh has a vision of his childhood years, his birth, growing up with his father, and how he taught him that when you fall down, there is no point in crying and you must get back up on your feet. "Everyone falls once in a while, that is what makes us stronger".
      • The flashback extends to a dark cave, a shrine in tribute of all past Egyptian Pharaohs. The Pharaoh's father has gone there to take responsibility for his sins.
        • Aknamkanon: "Egyptian Gods, hear me! I have committed a crime beyond atonement, for this I am truly sorry. By bringing the 7 Millennium Items into this world I have destroyed the lives of thousand. I bear full responsibility for these actions. Please, spare my son. Do not punish him for the misdeeds of his father." Bolts of energy start hitting the ground around the Pharaoh and his father.
          • The Pharaoh remembers now: his father surrendered his own safety in order to ensure his son's.
  • Then, a myterious figure with a golden mask appears to the Pharaoh. His name is Hassan he says, and he has come to warn the Pharaoh of an impending danger. "Zorc the Dark One", the embodiment of pure darkness, will soon be resurrected. When the time is right, the Pharaoh will know how to stop him.
    • Meanwhile, Yugi and Mana are having a chat as they continue their search, and Yugi is just telling Mana how much she reminds him of "Dark Magician Girl". He adds that if Mana continues practicing her spells, he's sure she can become as powerful as her.
      • Téa asks Mana what her name is, who then replies she might consider changing it to... "Dark Magician Girl"! (NOTE: in the original Japanese, Mana just thinks the name "Dark Magician Girl" is cool and pledges to work hard to become as strong as her).
        • It is then the group finally stumbles across the Pharaoh.
