"Dark Meister" is the one hundred and ninth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. It first aired in Japan on May 19, 2024.

Someone has awakened in the dark vortex filled with dark matter. The man ends up in the Dark Matter Empire somehow... He is then brought to the castle, where he receives a Duel Disk and a Deck from the Dark Meister, the ruler of the empire. The two then have a conversation through a Rush Duel.

Summary

Zuwijo awakens in space.

Zuwijo zir Velgear opens his eyes to find himself drifting through a magenta and purple nebula, and he asks in shock where he is. Then a feeling strikes him, and he remembers his thought to be final moments, Special Summoning "Voidvelgr Requiem" with the aid of Mitsuko and the disappearing Dinois, while remembering Muda. Zuwijo remembers "Requiem" destroying "Galactica Oblivion" and defeating Yudias before disintegrating into light, and he asks why he has been revived. Tapping his Gavil Charger, he finds it isn't working and wonders what this space is as he spots a light in the distance, before a tornado of darkness erupts below him and engulfs him with a scream, blasting him towards the light. The source of the light is the Dark Meister's castle, illuminated from behind, and within the black Darkman with the pink markings and bow senses something. The Dark Meister emerges from her chamber, having also sensed something and as the Darkman rubs against the Dark Meister's robes, the Dark Meister reaches down and pats Kuyamuya, observing that she felt it too.

The Valvelgear crew discuss Damamu.

Aboard Valvelgear, Damamu is floating around giggling as Epoch observes that there's only one Damamu now and Yuhi recalls there had been so many before. Manabu recaps that first there had been one, one became two, two became three, three had become four, and after four had become five, Yudias finishes that there had been eight Damamu as they remember seeing Damamu multiply after Manabu's Rush Duel with Fukamura, before then combining back into one, as Yudias recalls. Nyandestar lightly comments that Damamu is just as confusing as usual, and Manabu agrees they'll have to thoroughly investigate why there's only one Damamu again. Damamu then pops upside down beside Manabu, claiming flying around has made him really hungry and suggesting they eat some curry bread. The rest of the crew are alarmed at the suggestion, but acquiesce once they see Damamu is insistent on it and settle down to eat, though only Damamu really enjoys it.

Zuwijo captures Fukamura.

Zuwijo is walking along purple stone when he spots the Dark Meister's castle, but then a shadow emerges from it and Fukamura emerges from the shadow in his sphere form, with Zuwijo only having time to gasp "What?!" before Fukamura transforms into his panther form, crackling with red sparks, and engulfs Zuwijo, then returns to the castle. In the main hall, three spears of purple stone sprout from the walls and Sabyuas, Bruyea and Zeyet emerge from them in their humanoid forms, Sabyuas noting an outside has been captured and Bruyea wondering if it's his new mama, while Zeyet nervously whispers in affirmation. A fourth spear of rock extends from the entrance way with a black shadow on it, and Fukamura retreats from Zuwijo's body and stands in his humanoid form. Sabyuas observes the intruder, Bruyea commenting in disappointment that it isn't a mama, and Zeyet anxiously observing that he's alive; Fukamura confirms that the Dark Meister wanted the intruder captured alive. Zuwijo's eyes flicker open and he repeats the Dark Meister's name, and Fukamura enters his sphere form and then opens it to talk to Zuwijo, reaching out, but Zuwijo springs to his feet and easily puts Fukamura in a hold, ordering them to tell him who the Dark Meister is, much to the shock of the other Darkmen. Sayuas sounds an intruder alert, and six more spears of rock surround them, six more Darkmen emerging from them in their panther forms snarling at Zuwijo. Fukamura growls that it's it for Zuwijo, though Zuwijo wonders about that.

The Dark Meister makes her entrance.

Zuwijo's Deck is returned to him.

But the Dark Meister's voice tells them to stop, as that's enough, and she emerges from her illuminated chamber with Kuyamuya by her side on her own spear of rock. The Darkmen gasp her name and Zuwijo stands and tosses Fukamura aside, sending him bouncing at the Dark Meister's feet. Zuwijo observes that the Dark Meister is the ruler of the castle and the Dark Meister introduces herself as the leader of the Dark Matter Empire, Zuwijo likewise introducing himself, prompting a meow from Kuyamuya as she crackles with red sparks. The Dark Meister welcomes Zuwijo to their castle, and Zuwijo notes that since the Dark Meister seems to know, he wants her to tell him why he was revived. The Dark Meister smiles and says Kuyamuya's name; Kuyamuya sinks into her shadow form and slinks across the stone spears, depositing Zuwijo's Deck and Duel Disk at his feet before retreating back to the Dark Meister. Zuwijo kneels and picks up the Deck box, which ejects five cards: "Voidvelgr Requiem", "Voidvelgr Peltast", "Voidvelgr Kataphraktos", "Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir" and "Void Dust Fusion", and he gasps his ace monster's name and asks if this is his Deck. He asks why the Dark Meister has his Deck and what she wants, but the Dark Meister claims the answer lies beyond a Rush Duel. Zuwijo is confused why what the Dark Meister means by "beyond a Rush Duel", but the Darkmen are all excited at the notion of seeing the Dark Meister Rush Duel. The Dark Meister's spear is retracted to put some distance between them, and Zuwijo introduces himself as Zuwijo zir Velgear, while the Dark Meister introduces herself as the Empress of the Dark Matter Empire, the Dark Meister, and they insert their Decks into their Duel Disks with a declaration of "Go Rush!!" to deploy the blades and the green holographic dome.

Zuwijo Summons two high-Level monsters on his first turn.

Zuwijo takes the first turn and draws, his hand containing "Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir", "Voidvelgr Kataphraktos", "Voidvelgr Peltast", "Voidvelgr Hoplites" and "Voidvelgr Pale Rider". He Summons two monsters, "Peltast" and "Kataphraktos", then activates the effect of "Kataphraktos", sending the top card of his Deck - "Voidvelgr Requiem" - to the Graveyard, and then adding the sent "Voidvelgr Requiem" to his hand. He Tributes both his monsters to Tribute Summon, chanting "From the expanse of empty sky, I call forth a wandering warrior's regrets. But this is not a mass for the dead! Voidvelgr Requiem!" He sends the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Requiem", increasing its ATK by 300, to 2800, then Summons two more monsters, "Hoplites" and "Pale Rider", and Tributes them to Tribute Summon, chanting "From the expanse of empty sky, I awaken an army of clouds. Reveal yourself! Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir!" Zeyet yelps anxiously and Bruyea gasps that Zuwijo Summoned two high-Level monsters on his first turn. Zuwijo changes "Hecatoncheir" to Defense Position to activate its effect, inflicting 500 damage to the Dark Meister. Lightning strikes the Dark Meister and reduces her to 3500 LP, much to the alarm of the Darkmen, Sabyuas gasping his master's name and Fukamura expressing shock that Zuwijo damaged her on the first turn. But the Dark Meister is unfazed, smiling as Kuyamuya crackles with magenta and black lightning, and Zuwijo ends his turn, returning the ATK of "Requiem" to normal.

"Dark Matter Dragon" attacks Zuwijo directly, harming him with real damage.

The Dark Meister declares her turn and draws, her hand containing "Fusion", "Dark Matter Dragon", "Dark Matter Cold Drake" and two "Dark Matter Power Lizards". She Sets one of the "Power Lizards" in shadow, catching Zuwijo's attention, and then Summons "Dark Matter Cold Drake", activating its effect since she controls a shadowed monster, sending cards from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard equal to the number of monsters she controls - "Dark Matter Parallel Pod" and a third "Dark Matter Power Lizard" - and then Special Summoning the sent "Power Lizard" in face-up Defense Position. She Tributes her two face-up monsters to Tribute Summon, chanting "Darkness will purify the light, as it glimmers more brilliantly. O dragon bathed in darkness, cry out! Spread your jet-black wings and descend upon us! Dark Matter Dragon." The serpentine dragon appears with 2500 ATK and Zuwijo gasps as the Darkmen chant "Darkness! Darkness!" The Dark Meister Sets another monster in shadow, then Sets a card and sends the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard ("Dark Matter Reactive Cylinder") to activate the effect of "Dark Matter Dragon", destroying Level 8 or lower monsters Zuwijo controls equal to the number of shadowed monsters she controls. She declares "Darkness Explosion" and "Requiem" and "Hecatoncheir" both explode into purple shards as the Darkmen cheer, while Zuwijo simply nods in acceptance. The Dark Meister orders "Dark Matter Dragon" to attack with "Darkness Wing Resolution", and it breathes a torrent of blue flames from its maw, engulfing Zuwijo and blasting him off his feet, reducing him to 1500 LP. Bruyea cheers for his mama, Zeyet leading her cheer routine and Fukamura encouraging glory to the Dark Meister. Zuwijo rights himself, wondering what was up with the direct attack, as it felt wrong somehow. He asks what the meaning of this is, and the Dark Meister asks if he really wants to know, before asking him to allow her to enlighten him; intruders who Rush Duel within the borders of their Empire shall suffer the harshest damage. Zuwijo grits his teeth, while this revelation seems to be news to Zeyet, and Bruyea cheers his mama on, while Sabyuas tells Zuwijo to witness this, though Fukamura is simply stunned speechless. The Dark Meister ends her turn.

Zuwijo Fusion Summons "Voidvelgr Gehennamagia".

Zuwijo declares his turn and draws five cards; "Void Corridor", "Eclipse", "Void Reactive Nova", "Void Dust Fusion" and "Voidvelgr Universtella". He Summons "Voidvelgr Universtella", then returns three monsters from his Graveyard to his Deck ("Pale Rider", "Peltast" and "Kataphraktos") to activate the effect of "Universtella", destroying a Spell or Trap Card the Dark Meister controls. The lone Set card on the Dark Meister's field explodes, and she reveals the card to Zuwijo - "Fusion". Zuwijo murmurs the card's name in surprise, while Bruyea worries over his mama's card getting destroyed, and Sabyuas notes that it was "Fusion" that was destroyed. Zuwijo then sends "Universtella" to the Graveyard to add "Universtorm" from his Graveyard to his hand, and then returns the "Hoplites" from his Graveyard to his Deck to activate "Void Dust Fusion", returning "Voidvelgr Requiem" and "Hecatoncheir" from his Graveyard to his Deck to Fusion Summon using them as materials. He chants "From the expanse of emptiness, of which my life is bound, I am reborn. Again, and again. Fusion Summon! Voidvelgr Gehennamagia!"

Zuwijo seals Spell Cards to prevent the Dark Meister from using "Fusion".

"Gehennamagia" appears with 3400 ATK and Fukamura and Zeyet gasp, Fukamura shocked at the notion of fusing monsters in the Graveyard. Zuwijo then sends two cards from his hand to the Graveyard ("Void Corridor" and "Eclipse") to activate the effect of "Gehennamagia", returning two Set cards the Dark Meister controls to her hand. The Dark Meister retrieves her cards as Bruyea calls out to her and Zeyet stresses, and Zuwijo adds that since he sent two Normal Spell Cards to the Graveyard, neither of them can use Spell Cards until the end of the next turn, declaring "Dark Sealing Tenacity". Kuyamuya crackles with magenta and black lightning as Zuwijo declares he knows the Dark Meister wants to use "Fusion", and now he has sealed that goal away, though the Dark Meister does not respond. Setting two cards, Zuwijo orders "Voidvelgr Gehennamagia" to attack "Dark Matter Dragon" with "Last Velgearddon", and "Gehennamagia" ignites its wings and gathers energy spheres in its auxiliary arms, then blasts them at "Dark Matter Dragon" to imprison it, before cutting it down with its double-bladed sword, destroying it and reducing the Dark Meister to 2600 LP - though while the Dark Meister doesn't react, Kuyamuya snarls in pain as lightning continues to crackle around her. Bruyea gasps, Zeyet stressing as Sabyuas calls the Dark Meister's name, and Kuyamuya growls as Zuwijo ends his turn.

The Dark Meister tells Zuwijo he must sink into darkness to know its truth.

Bruyea calls out to his mama, but the Dark Meister simply declares her turn and draws, her hand now containing "Contact Dark Matter Wyvern", two more "Cold Drake", and the two "Power Lizards" that Zuwijo returned to her hand. She Sets one of the "Power Lizards" in shadow, then Tributes it to Tribute Summon "Contact Dark Matter Wyvern", and Zuwijo reacts in shock at the monster's appearance, Kuyamuya cocking her head at it. The Dark Meister explains that she can activate the effect of "Contact Dark Matte Wyvern" due to Tributing a shadowed monster to Summon it, sending a monster (her other "Power Lizard") to the Graveyard to revive "Dark Matter Dragon", and Zuwijo gasps "What?!" as the Dark Meister again chants "Darkness will purify the light, as it glimmers more brilliantly. O dragon bathed in darkness, cry out! Spread your jet-black wings and descend upon us! Dark Matter Dragon." Zuwijo points out that the effect of "Dark Matter Dragon" can't destroy the Level 9 "Gehennamagia", but the Dark Meister wonders about that. Zuwijo vows to dig up all that is around the Dark Meister no matter what she's up to, but the amused Dark Meister claims that if Zuwijo seeks the truth in darkness, he must first sink into darkness himself. Zuwijo asks "Darkness?" in surprise, and the Dark Meister claims that the truth will never reveal itself to Zuwijo if he doesn't know how far the abyss goes. Magenta and black lightning suddenly begins crackling around her, soon filling the hall to the shock of the Darkmen and even surrounding the castle. Zuwijo sees himself drifting in a shadowy space, thinking of power, wrath, fear, solitude, grief, determination and resolve. He returns to himself and says the Dark Meister's name, and she smiles.

The Dark Meister Summons "Dark Matter Emperor Dragon" with Contact Fusion.

She returns "Dark Matter Dragon" and "Contact Dark Matter Wyvern" to her Deck and declares a Contact Fusion. Zuwijo gasps "What?!" is shock as "Contact Dark Matter Wyvern" and "Dark Matter Dragon" glow with orange and blue energy respectively and swirl together into a purple vortex, the Dark Meister chanting "Dragon of darkness. Emperor of the ever-expanding world of darkness, take flight! Dark Matter Emperor Dragon!" The Fusion Monster emerges from the purple vortex with 3000 ATK, Zuwijo gasping the name of the Summon and Fukamura observing that it was Summoned without using a Spell Card. Sabyuas declares his heart is stirring as he repeats the name of the Summon and Bruyea cheers that that's his mama, while Zeyet calls it wonderful. The Dark Meister Sets two more monsters in shadow, then activates the effect of "Dark Matter Emperor Dragon" since she has two shadowed monsters, allowing her to destroy two Set cards Zuwijo controls. Zuwijo's Set "Universtorm" and "Void Reactive Nova" explode into purple shards as Zuwijo gasps, and the Dark Meister adds that "Dark Matter Emperor Dragon" gains 2000 ATK, rising to 5000. Zuwijo can only gasp "What?" and grit his teeth, and the Dark Meister smiles, then orders "Dark Matter Emperor Dragon" to attack with "The Majestic Ultimate Weapon". The particles with the orbs of "Dark Matte Emperor Dragon" turn gold, and it blasts a purple and black orb engulfed in blue flames from its maw at "Gehennamagia", destroying it and wiping out Zuwijo's LP.

Zuwijo pledges himself to the Dark Matter Empire.

Zuwijo is blasted face-down, and the Darkmen all cheer the Dark Meister's defeat of the intruder, Kuyamuya meowing. Zuwijo struggles back to his feet, much to the shock of Fukamura and Bruyea, and then his spear of rock is brought closer to the Dark Meister. Zuwijo steps across to the Dark Meister's and glances down at the still crackling Kuyamuya, gasping in shock. He looks the Dark Meister in the eyes and then closes his own and kneels before her, much to the shock of the Darkmen. Zuwijo declares that Zuwijo zir Velgear will from now on serve the Dark Matter Empire's Empress, the Dark Meister, and the Darkmen gasp in surprise. The Dark Meister begins to say "Dark" in English, but Zuwijo says "Darkness" in Japanese, and the other Darkmen nod approvingly as the Dark Meister smiles slightly.

Featured Duel: Zuwijo zir Velgear vs. the Dark Meister

The Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.

Turn 1: Zuwijo
Zuwijo's hand contains "Voidvelgr Hecatoncheir", "Voidvelgr Kataphraktos", "Voidvelgr Peltast", "Voidvelgr Hoplites" and "Voidvelgr Pale Rider". Zuwijo Normal Summons "Kataphraktos" (1000/1000) and "Peltast" (0/1500). As "Kataphraktos" was Normal Summoned this turn and Zuwijo has a face-up DARK Attribute monster other than it on his field, he activates its effect to send the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard, then if he sent a monster to the Graveyard this way, he can add a Level 8 Galaxy Type monster from his Graveyard to his hand. Zuwijo sends "Voidvelgr Requiem" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard, then adds "Requiem" from his Graveyard to his hand. Zuwijo Tributes "Kataphraktos" and "Peltast" to Tribute Summon "Requiem" (2500/2000). Zuwijo activates the effect of "Requiem", sending the top card of his Deck to the Graveyard to increase its ATK by the number of face-up DARK Attribute monsters on his field x 300 until the end of this turn, then it gains additional 600 ATK until the end of this turn if the Dark Meister has a face-up LIGHT Attribute monster on her field. Zuwijo sends "Universtorm" from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard ("Requiem": 2500/2000 → 2800/2000). Zuwijo Normal Summons "Pale Rider" (1600/0) and "Hoplites" (1500/100). Zuwijo Tributes "Pale Rider" and "Hoplites" to Tribute Summon "Hecatoncheir" (2000/2600). Zuwijo activates the effect of "Hecatoncheir", changing it from Attack Position to face-up Defense Position to inflict 500 damage to the Dark Meister, then if Zuwijo has a face-up Level 8 monster on his field, he can change the battle position of a face-up Galaxy Type monster on his field. Zuwijo changes "Hecatoncheir" to Defense Position (Dark Meister: 4000 → 3500 LP). As Zuwijo ends his turn, the ATK of "Requiem" returns to normal ("Requiem": 2800/2000 → 2500/2000).

Turn 2: Dark Meister
The Dark Meister's hand contains "Fusion", "Dark Matter Dragon", "Dark Matter Cold Drake" and two copies of "Dark Matter Power Lizard". The Dark Meister Sets "Power Lizard". The Dark Meister Normal Summons "Cold Drake" (1000/1300). As "Cold Drake" was Normal Summoned this turn and the Dark Meister has a face-down monster on her field, she activates its effect to send cards from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard equal to the number of monsters on Zuwijo's field, then the Dark Meister can Special Summon a DARK Attribute Galaxy Type monster with 1300 DEF from among the cards sent to her field in face-up Defense Position or face-down Defense Position. The Dark Meister sends "Dark Matter Parallel Pod" and "Power Lizard" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard, then Special Summons "Power Lizard" (1300/1300) from her Graveyard in Defense Position. The Dark Meister Tributes "Cold Drake" and "Power Lizard" to Tribute Summon "Dragon" (2500/1300). The Dark Meister Sets "Power Lizard". The Dark Meister Sets "Fusion" in her Spell & Trap Zone. As "Dragon" was Normal Summoned or Special Summoned during this Main Phase, the Dark Meister activates its effect, sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard to destroy face-up Level 8 or lower monsters on Zuwijo's field up to the number of face-down monsters on the Dark Meister's field. The Dark Meister sends "Dark Matter Reactive Cylinder" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard and destroys "Hecatoncheir" and "Requiem". "Dragon" attacks Zuwijo directly (Zuwijo: 4000 → 1500 LP).

Turn 3: Zuwijo
Zuwijo draws "Void Corridor", "Eclipse", "Void Reactive Nova", "Void Dust Fusion" and "Voidvelgr Universtella". Zuwijo Normal Summons "Universtella" (100/100). Zuwijo activates the effect of "Universtella", shuffling three DARK Attribute Galaxy Type monsters from his Graveyard into the Deck, including a Normal Monster, to destroy a Spell/Trap Card on the Dark Meister's field and send it from Zuwijo's field to the Graveyard, then if he destroyed a Spell Card this way, he can add a "Universtorm" from his Graveyard to his hand. Zuwijo shuffles "Pale Rider", "Peltast" and "Kataphraktos" from his Graveyard into the Deck, destroys the Dark Meister's face-down "Fusion" and sends "Universtella" from his field to the Graveyard, then adds "Universtorm" from his Graveyard to his hand. Zuwijo activates the Spell Card "Void Dust Fusion", shuffling a DARK Attribute Galaxy Type Normal Monster from his Graveyard into the Deck to Fusion Summon a DARK Attribute Galaxy Type monster by shuffling DARK Attribute Galaxy Type monsters from his Graveyard into the Deck as material, but this turn he can only attack with the monster Special Summoned this way. Zuwijo shuffles "Hoplites" from his Graveyard into the Deck, shuffles "Requiem" and "Hecatoncheir" from his Graveyard into the Deck and Fusion Summons "Voidvelgr Gehennamagia" (3400/2500) in Attack Position. Zuwijo activates the effect of "Gehennamagia", sending up to two cards from his hand to the Graveyard to return face-down cards from the Dark Meister's field to the owner's hand equal to the number of cards sent to the Graveyard this way, then if Zuwijo sent two Normal Spell Cards to the Graveyard this way, neither player can activate Spell Cards until the end of the Dark Meister's next turn. Zuwijo sends "Void Corridor" and "Eclipse" from his hand to the Graveyard and returns the Dark Meister's both face-down copies of "Power Lizard" from her field to her hand. Zuwijo Sets "Void Reactive Nova" and "Universtorm" in his Spell & Trap Zones. "Gehennamagia" attacks and destroys "Dragon" (Dark Meister: 3500 → 2600 LP).

Turn 4: Dark Meister
The Dark Meister draws "Contact Dark Matter Wyvern" and two copies of "Cold Drake". The Dark Meister Sets "Power Lizard". The Dark Meister Tributes her face-down "Power Lizard" to Tribute Summon "Wyvern" (1500/1300). As "Wyvern" was Normal Summoned this turn by Tributing a face-down monster, the Dark Meister activates its effect to send a card from her hand to the Graveyard, then she can Special Summon a "Dragon" from her Graveyard face-up to her field. The Dark Meister sends "Power Lizard" from her hand to the Graveyard, then Special Summons "Dragon" (2500/1300) from her Graveyard in Attack Position. The Dark Meister shuffles "Dragon" and "Wyvern" from her field into her Deck to Contact Fusion "Dark Matter Emperor Dragon" (3000/2500) in Attack Position. The Dark Meister Sets two copies of "Cold Drake". As the Dark Meister has a face-down monster on her field, she activates the effect of "Emperor Dragon" to destroy two face-down cards on the field, and she increases its ATK by 2000 this turn. The Dark Meister destroys Zuwijo's face-down "Void Reactive Nova" and his face-down "Universtorm" ("Emperor Dragon": 3000/2500 → 5000/2500). "Emperor Dragon" attacks and destroys "Gehennamagia" (Zuwijo: 1500 → 0 LP).
