Lector's Turn

Seto Kaiba's Turn

• Summons "Spear Dragon" (1900 ATK / 0 DEF) in Attack Position and uses it to attack Lector's face-down monster.
• Thanks to "Spear Dragon's" special ability, it inflicts damage to Lector despite his Defense Position monster (Lector: 4000 → 2600 Life Points).
• Lector's face down monster is destroyed: it was "Hiro's Shadow Scout" (650 ATK / 500 DEF), whose Flip Effect forces Seto to draw three cards and discard the two Spell Cards he's drawn.
• "Spear Dragon's" secondary effect switches it to Defense Position after an attack.
• Sets a card.
• Lector activates Trap Card "Solemn Wishes", allowing him to gain 500 Life Points every time he draws a card.

• Lector activates Trap Card "Mask of Perplexity", re-directing the attack to "Giant Germ". (NOTE: the real-life equivalent of this card is "Magical Arm Shield").
• Seto attempts to activate his "Crush Card Virus" but Lector's Deck Master ability kicks in: "Jinzo" negates all of Seto's traps while Lector's traps remain unaffected. (Seto: 4000 → 3100 Life Points).
• Seto's "Giant Germ" is destroyed, activating its special effect: "Giant Germ" inflicts 500 points of damage to Lector (Lector: 3100 → 2600 Life Points) and allows Seto to summon another one (1000 ATK / 100 DEF) in Attack Position.

• Thanks to "Spear Dragon's" special ability, it inflicts damage to Lector despite his Defense Position monster (Lector: 3100 → 1700 Life Points). (NOTE: the math doesn't add up here; in the anime, Lector loses 1400 Life Points when he should have only lost 1000, i.e. 1900 - 900 = 1000 due to "Spear Dragon's" special ability).
• Lector's face-down monster is revealed & destroyed: it was "Cyber Jar" (900 ATK / 900 DEF), whose Flip Effect destroys all monsters on the field and allows both players to draw five cards, Special Summoning any 4-Star (or less) monsters they draw. Seto draws and special summons "Vorse Raider" (1900 ATK / 1200 DEF) in Attack Position and "Twin-Headed Behemoth" (1500 ATK / 1200 DEF) in Defense Position; Lector draws and special summons "Injection Fairy Lily" (400 ATK / 1500 DEF) in Attack Position.

• Activates "Injection Fairy Lily's" effect, paying 2000 LP (Lector: 2200 → 200 Life Points) to increase his monster's ATK by 3000 ("Injection Fairy Lily": 400 → 3400 ATK / 1500 DEF).
• Uses "Injection Fairy Lily" to attack and destroy Seto's "Vorse Raider" (Seto: 3100 → 1200 Life Points).
