[[Gansley]] activates "[[A Legendary Ocean]]". As long as this card is on the field, all WATER monsters on the field and in both players' hands have their levels reduced by one and in addition all WATER monsters gain 200 ATK and DEF. • Noah gives them their opportunity, and as their final chance for escape, the Big Five challenge Yugi, each taking turns speaking through Tristan's body.

Deck Masters

Featured Duel: Yami Yugi + Joey Wheeler vs. The Big Five, Part 1

Turn 1: The Big Five (Gansley)
Gansley activates "A Legendary Ocean". As long as this card is on the field, all WATER monsters on the field and in both players' hands have their levels reduced by one and in addition all WATER monsters gain 200 ATK and DEF. Then, he Normal Summons "The Legendary Fisherman" in Attack Position (1850/1600) without a Tribute due to "A Legendary Ocean's" effect decreases its Level by 1. As the name of "A Legendary Ocean" is treated as "Umi", "The Legendary Fisherman" cannot be attacked and is unaffected by Spell Cards (because of this it does not get the increase from "A Legendary Ocean").

Turn 2: Joey
Joey Normal Summons "Alligator's Sword" in Defense Position (1500/1200).

Turn 3: Yami
Yami Normal Summons "Gazelle the King of Mythical Beasts" in Defense Position (1500/1200).

Turn 4: The Big Five (Crump)
Because of "Nightmare Penguin" the ATK of "The Legendary Fisherman" rises (2050 → 2250). "The Legendary Fisherman" attacks and destroys "Gazelle". Then, Crump Normal Summons "Catapult Turtle" in Defense Position (1000 → 1400/2000 → 2200).

Turn 5: Joey
Joey Sets a card. Then, he Normal Summons "Cyber Harpie Lady" in Attack Position (1800/1300). Then, he switches "Alligator's Sword" to Attack Position.

Turn 6: Yami
Yami Normal Summons "Mystical Elf" in Defense Position (800/2000).

Turn 7: The Big Five (Crump)
"The Legendary Fisherman" attacks "Mystical Elf". Joey activates "Kunai with Chain", switching "The Legendary Fisherman" to Defense Position and adding 500 ATK to "Cyber Harpie Lady" ("Cyber Harpie Lady": 1800 → 2300). Crump Sets a monster.

Turn 8: Joey
Joey activates "Harpie's Feather Duster" to destroy "A Legendary Ocean". ("Catapult Turtle" 1400 → 1200/2200 → 2000). "Cyber Harpie Lady" attacks and destroys "The Legendary Fisherman". "Alligator's Sword" attacks and destroys The Big Five's face-down monster: "Magician of Faith" (300/400). Its effect lets Crump select 1 Magic Card from his Graveyard and add it to his hand. He selects "A Legendary Ocean". (He plans on using it and the "Monster Reborn" in his hand to rebuild their previous combo.)

Turn 9: Yami
Yami Normal Summons in Defense Position "Kuriboh" (300/200). Then, he activates "Card Destruction". Each player discards their hand and draws the same amount of cards they discarded. Crump is thus forced to discard "A Legendary Ocean" along with his other cards.

Duel continues next episode.

Differences In Adaptations

  • Cut from the English version is a shot of Robot Monkey Honda, moved to tears by Jounouchi's insistence on fighting for him.
  • Another sequence with Robot Monkey Honda and the gang is cut from the English version. First, Honda tearfully urges Yugi and Jounouchi on. Anzu tells him not to worry, and Otogi says he'll soon have his body back. He thanks them, and Shizuka, who encourages her brother. Honda melts rather goopily in her arms.
  • Brainwashed Mokuba has red-eyes in the dub.

Errors

  • When Joey recalls Mai getting sent to the Shadow Realm, Yami Marik has the original Marik's voice by mistake.
