Rise of Yubel -The Ultimate Nightmare- is an event that occurred in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. It allows the player to unlock Yubel as a playable character.

Event details[edit]

During this event, the player earns Shattered Hearts by Dueling in Duel World (except at the Gate or against The Vagrant) or Ranked Duels. The first two times the player earns Shattered Hearts from a Duel per day, they receive 10 bonus Shattered Hearts (20 bonus Shattered Hearts starting September 19, 2018). At the conclusion of the event, any remaining Shattered Hearts are converted to Gold at the rate of 3 Gold per Shattered Heart.

This event has several challenges. The player progresses through the event by completing the challenges.

Challenge 1 Unlocked by collecting 20 or more Shattered Hearts.
Challenge 2 Unlocked by completing Challenge 1 and collecting 50 or more Shattered Hearts.
Challenge 3 Unlocked by completing Challenge 2 and collecting 80 or more Shattered Hearts.
Challenge 4 Unlocked after 18 Sep by completing Challenge 3 and collecting 200,000 or more Event Points.

Upon collecting a total of 20 Shattered Hearts, a Duel Ghoul appears in Duel World (GX) with a Level 10 Deck. Defeating this Duel Ghoul completes Challenge 1.

Upon collecting a total of 50 Shattered Hearts and completing Challenge 1, a stack of three Duel Ghouls appear in Duel World (GX) with a Level 20 Deck. Despite appearing as three Duel Ghouls, the player can only Duel one of them. Defeating this Duel Ghoul for the first time completes Challenge 2. After completing Challenge 3, Yubel can be Dueled at the Gate with her Level 10 Deck, with each higher level Deck (up to Level 40, in steps of 10 levels) being unlocked once the player defeats her previous level Deck. In addition, after completing Challenge 3 Yubel will also start to occasionally appear in Duel World (GX) using a Deck whose level does not exceed the level at which she can be Dueled at the Gate, where she can be Dueled without spending Shattered Hearts; this appearance is time-based.

The player can Duel Yubel at the Gate by spending Shattered Hearts at following rates:

After September 15, 2018, if the player has completed Challenge 3, Yubel is unlocked for them as a playable character.

After September 18, 2018, if the player has completed Challenge 3 and collected 200,000 or more Event Points, Yubel will appear in Duel World (GX) with her Level 50 Deck. Defeating her with this Deck for the first time completes Challenge 4 and earns the player "Yubel - Terror Incarnate". After completing Challenge 4, Yubel occasionally appears in Duel World (GX) with her Level 50 Deck; this appearance is time-based.

After September 21, 2018, if the player has completed Challenge 4 and collected 1,000,000 or more Event Points, Yubel will appear in Duel World (GX) with her Level 60 Deck. Defeating her with this Deck for the first time completes Challenge 5 and earns the player "Yubel - The Ultimate Nightmare". After completing Challenge 5, Yubel occasionally appears in Duel World (GX) with her Level 60 Deck; this appearance is time-based.

Event Points[edit]

In this event, the player earns Event Points exclusively by Dueling Yubel (either at the Gate or in Duel World). The player earns a number of Event Points equal to their Duel Result, multiplied by the Point Multiplier for that Deck level. The point multipliers are as follows:

Card Trader EX[edit]

The Card Trader EX appears during this event and remained open until one week after its conclusion (October 1, 2018). The player can trade their EX Jewels for cards, Booster Items, and Gold. Each card and Booster Item can only be obtained once from the Card Trader EX during this event, but the Gold can be obtained any number of times.

Duel Rewards[edit]

When Dueling against Yubel Level 40 or higher, these are the only cards that can drop; at lower levels, cards from the standard pool for Legendary Duelists may also drop. Duel Ghouls do not drop cards as Duel Rewards.
