The New Rivals is the one-hundredth and eighteenth episode of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.
Yliaster's Three Emperors, using their powers to falsify history have entered the WRGP as the DuelistsTeam New World. Because this was not according to their expectations, Yusei and co. have to train even harder and realise they must win, no matter what it costs.
On a whim, Leo gets to know the team called Team Taiyo. Apparently they had come from the countryside of Japan to fight in the WRGP, this pooling what little money they had.
Though Team Taiyo had already been declared winners of their Preliminary Block and are to participate in the Tournament Finals, embarrassingly they have been left with only 1 functional Duel Runner due to the attack of the Diablo, which caused the others to breakdown.
And though Leo asks Yusei to repair their Duel Runners, Team Taiyo seems hesitant to become indebted to their rivals. Eventually Yusei is able to work on their machine, upgrading its power and speed by an impressive extent.
The demonic dragon and the northern god clash, causing the sky to darken and the arena to tremble with the force of an earthquake. Hastily, Lazar interrupts the duel to avoid more damage.
Jack's turn Jack uses the effect of "Vice Dragon" which lets him Special Summon it from his hand (ATK: 1000), then Normal Summons "Dark Resonator" (ATK: 1300). He uses both monsters to Synchro Summon "Red Dragon Archfiend" (ATK: 3000). Jack attack Polar Star Beast Tanngrisnir with his Red Dragon Archfiend. (Dragan: 2200 Life Points). The effect of Polar Star Beast Tanngrisnir Special Summon 2 Polar Star Beast Tokens (DEF: 0). Jack places 1 card face-down in his Spell & Trap Card Zone and ends his turn.
