The Hero's Triumphant Return! Carrying On a Friend's Will!! is the one-hundred and twenty-third episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime. It first aired in Japan on September 29, 2013.
As the human and Barian Worlds begin to merge, Kite's body begins to suffer the full burden of the Barian's Field. Due to a Barian trap, each hit Kite takes is a hundred times worse than before, causing him to ultimately collapse.... But just as he falls, Yuma returns, with Astral alive and well by his side! Mr. Heartland finds himself unable to contain his shock and dismay. Yuma relieves Kite, and takes over the Duel with Astral by his side, and challenges Mr. Heartland to one last decisive battle...!

Kite is unable to continue the Duel, so Yuma takes his place and continues the Duel with Kite's remaining 1750 Life Points.
Yuma Tsukumo vs. Mr. Heartland
Turn 3: Mr. Heartland
Via the effect of "Prevent Draw" which Kite activated earlier, Yuma draws a card which turns out to be "Rainbow Kuriboh". Mr. Heartland declares the direct attack of "Number 1: Infection Baal Zebul" (3000/2500) on Yuma. Yuma activates the effect of "Rainbow Kuriboh" from his hand as an opponent's Xyz Monster declared an attack. He can equip "Rainbow Kuriboh" to the attacking monsters and prevent it from attacking. Mr. Heartland Sets a card.
Turn 4: Yuma
Yuma draws "Gagaga Caesar" (1800/600) and Normal Summons it in Attack Position. Next he Special Summons "Gagaga Clerk" (400/800) from his hand via its own effect as he controls another "Gagaga" monster. Yuma activates the effect of "Gagaga Caesar", banishing a Level 4 or lower monster from his Graveyard to change the Level of all face-up "Gagaga" monsters he controls to that of the banished monster. He banishes "Paladin of Photon Dragon", so the Levels of "Gagaga Caesar" and "Gagaga Clerk" become 4. Yuma overlays his two Level 4 monsters to Xyz Summon "Number 39: Utopia" (2500/2000) in Attack Position. Yuma declares the attack of "Utopia" on "Infection Baal Zebul", but Mr.Heartland activates his face-down card "Overlay Hunt", whose effect allows him to negate the effect of his opponents Xyz Monster, then take all Xyz Materials that monster and attach it to his Xyz Monster as Xyz Material, whenever his opponent's Xyz Monster attacks his Xyz Monster. Via this effect "Utopia" loses its 2 Xyz Materials and its effect is negated. Yuma in return activates the Quick-Play Spell Card "Stop Hammer" from his hand. Via its effect, when any player's monster declares an attack, he can negate the attack, and the attacking monster loses 500 ATK. Via, this effect the attack of "Utopia" is negated and it loses 500 ATK (2500 → 2000). Now, Yuma activates "Double or Nothing!", doubling the ATK of "Utopia" and allowing it to attack again as an attack was negated (2000 → 4000). "Utopia" attacks and destroys "Infection Baal Zebul" (Mr. Heartland 4000 → 3000). At the end of the Battle Phase, "Utopia" attack returns to normal (4000 → 2000). Mr. Heartland activates his face-down "Infection Medium", when a Fiend-Type Xyz Monster he controlled was destroyed (either by battle or by card effect), he Special Summon five "Infection Bug Token" (300/300). Yuma Sets a card.
Turn 5: Mr. Heartland
Mr. Heartland declares the attack of a "Infection Bug Token" on "Utopia". "Infection Bug Token" gets destroyed and its effect activates. When this card is destroyed, he takes no battle damage and can destroy 1 monster his opponent controls, and then inflict 300 damage to his opponent. Via this effect, "Utopia" is destroyed and Yuma receives the effect damage (Yuma 1750 → 1450). Mr. Heartland then declares a direct attack of "Infection Bug Token". Yuma activates the effect of the "Rainbow Kuriboh" in his Graveyard, Special Summoning it in Defense Position. A replay occurs and "Infection Bug Token" attacks and destroys "Rainbow Kuriboh". Next, Mr. Heartland then declares the direct attack of the remaining 3 "Infection Bug Token" (Yuma 1450 → 550). Next he activates "Infection Extension", which can only be activated during a turn in which he did not Normal Summon a monster. He can Special Summon 1 "Infection Bug Token" (300/300) and his opponent can only Normal or Special Summon monsters in face-up Attack Position. When this card is destroyed, he can destroy 1 monster his opponent controls, and if he does, inflict 300 damage to his opponent. Yuma activates "Light Back", whose effect allows him to Special Summon 1 LIGHT monster from his Graveyard and equip it with this card. The equipped monster loses 1000 ATK. When this card leaves the field, destroy the equipped monster. Via this effect, Yuma Special Summons "Galaxy-Eyes Photon Dragon" (3000/2500) and it loses 1000 ATK (3000 → 2000).
Turn 6: Yuma
