Yu-Gi-Oh!

Notes

  • This card is one of Joey Wheeler's signature cards.
  • This card is a Level 7 monster in the manga while it is a Level 6 monster in the anime.
  • This card's attack in the Japanese version is known as Cyber Energy Shock; Psychic Wave while its effect is known as Trap Search and Trap Crush.

Battle City

  • When a Rare Hunter looks at each duelist's rarest card, this card is registered as the rarest one in Espa Roba's Deck.
  • When Rex Raptor Duels Espa Roba, this card makes its first appearance. Espa used "Mesmeric Control" to stop Rex's "Serpent Night Dragon" from attacking this card and reduce its ATK by 800. This card then destroys Rex's "Serpent Night Dragon", winning Roba the duel.
  • When Joey Wheeler Duels Espa Roba, Espa summons this monster by tributing Joey's "Swordsman of Landstar" (which Espa controlled thanks to "Mind Control"). This monster then destroys Joey's "Chasm of Spikes" with its own effect. Espa then equips this monster with "Amplifier", increasing its ATK by 500. This monster then destroys Joey's "Alligator's Sword". Joey then attempts to use his "Baby Dragon" and "Time Wizard" combo to weaken this monster, but it was unaffected by the effect of "Time Wizard" much to Joey's surprise. Espa then explains that the reason why it didn't work is because this card's armor is made of a special alloy that is guaranteed not to age or corrode for 10,000 years. Joey's "Thousand Dragon" attacks this card, but the attack then backfires since this monster was stronger at the timing, destroying Joey's "Thousand Dragon" instead. After Joey plays "Scapegoat" to create four Sheep Tokens, this card gains 300 ATK via "Amplifier". This monster then destroys one Sheep Token while Espa's "Reflect Bounder" destroys another Sheep Token. Joey then targets this monster with "Roulette Spider" to spin it around like a roulette until Espa orders it to stop. When it stops, it points at his "Reflect Bounder". This monster is then forced to attack "Reflect Bounder" as per the second effect of "Roulette Spider". "Reflect Bounder" is then destroyed by the attack and this in turn activates its effect which destroys this monster too. Because of the Battle Damage difference between Espa's monsters, Joey won the duel. Joey then won this card from Roba as per the Battle City Rules.
  • In episode 59, this card appeared on the screen of the laptop Tristan was using when he was trying to let Serenity Wheeler know how the Duel between Joey and Espa was going.
  • When Joey Wheeler Duels Weevil Underwood, Joey first summons this card by sacrificing his "Swordsman of Landstar". He then uses this card to destroy Weevil's "Flying Kamakiri #2". On the next turn, this card attacks Weevil's set "Kiseitai", but this activates the effect of "Kiseitai", equipping itself to this card. On Joey's next turn, the second effect of "Kiseitai" increases Weevil's Life Points equal to half of this card's ATK. Joey then uses this card to destroy Weevil's "Skull-Mark Ladybug" which activates its effect, increasing Weevil's Life Points by 500. On Joey's next turn, Weevil's Life Points increase again by half of this card's ATK thanks to the effect of "Kiseitai". Joey then sacrifices this card (with "Kiseitai" still attached to it) so that his "Panther Warrior" can attack.
  • In episode 74, this card appears within a series of flashbacks that show all of Joey's Duels in Battle City.
  • In episode 87, this card appears in a series of flashbacks that Joey has when he notes to Odion that he has met many people on his way to the Battle City Finals and he kept fighting all the way no matter how grim the situation was.
  • When Joey Wheeler Duels Odion Ishtar, Joey uses this card. When Odion's "Embodiment of Apophis" (one of his three copies) attacks Joey's "Swordsman of Landstar", Joey uses "Foolish Burial" to discard this card to Odion's Graveyard. He then uses "Graverobber" to snatch this card from Odion's Graveyard and summon it to his side of the field. Joey then uses this card's effect to destroy Odion's three copies of "Embodiment of Apophis". Joey then attacks Odion directly with this card, "Battle Warrior" and "Swordsman of Landstar". When Odion plays "Swords of Revealing Light", Joey switches this card to Defense Position and summons "The Legendary Fisherman" then summons out "Insect Queen". Later, this card is the first of Joey's monsters to be destroyed and absorbed by Odion's "Mystical Beast Serket".
  • In episode 89, this card appears in a series of flashbacks Odion has when he explains that this card counts as three Tributes due to it absorbing three of Joey's monsters which was why he could Tribute this card to summon "The Winged Dragon of Ra".

Virtual World

  • In episode 99, this card appears when Yami Yugi was building his Virtual World Deck before his Duel with Gansley.
  • In a couple of duels in this arc, this card's Deck Master ability is shown to destroy only the opposing side's Trap cards.
  • When Seto Kaiba Duels Leichter, Leichter uses this monster as his Deck Master and took on its form as well. Leichter reveals this fact to Kaiba when Leichter negates and destroys Kaiba's "Crush Card Virus" when Kaiba activates it.
  • In episode 108, this card can be seen when Seto Kaiba was building his Deck for his Duel against Leichter.
    • This card also appears in a flashback explained by Leichter when he reminds Seto that his birthday gift from Gozaburo Kaiba was where all the mistakes made by Seto himself began. This card is the Seto flips face-up during the flashback.
  • In episode 109, this card appears in a flashback Leichter has when he explains to Seto that his treachery began when Gozaburo gave him a large amount of dollars to test Seto's business skills.
  • The four remaining Big Five members later tried to take the bodies of Yugi's friends by force as defeating them in Duels proved to be useless. Joey quickly summoned five monster to stall for time while he and his friends tried to get away on the truck. Leichter, as this monster, destroys "Battle Warrior" and "Baby Dragon". After defeating the monsters, the Big Five went after the truck, but the gang are able to get the truck started and escape. Eventually the gang end up in a desert and later crash. Before the Big Five can take the bodies of Yugi's friends, Noah captures them for questioning on their actions.
  • When Yugi Muto and Joey Wheeler Duel The Big Five (using Tristan Taylor's body), three copies of this card are seen. The first one is seen when Yugi is selecting his cards though Yugi doesn't select it. Later, the second one is Leichter's Deck Master once more. Leichter used his Deck Master's Ability to destroy Joey's "Drop Off" when he tried to use it to make Leichter discard the card he drew on his Draw Phase. On the next turn, Joey summons the third one after sacrificing his "Panther Warrior". Joey then used his copy's effect to destroy Leichter's "Gravity Bind" since Leichter's copy only destroys opposing Traps. After Joey uses "Block Attack" to force Leichter's "Injection Fairy Lily" into Defense Mode, Joey's copy destroys Leichter's "Injection Fairy Lily". Later, the second and third copies were destroyed when the Big Five uses "Dragon Revival Ritual" to tribute Leichter's copy, Gansley's "Deepsea Warrior", Crump's "Nightmare Penguin", Johnson's "Judge Man" and Nezbitt's "Robotic Knight" to Ritual Summon "Five-Headed Dragon" while Joey's copy and Yugi's "Dark Magician Girl" are destroyed by the effect of the Big Five's "Five-Headed Dragon".

Battle City Finals

  • During the four way Duel between Joey Wheeler, Yami Yugi, Seto Kaiba and Yami Marik, this card is shown in Joey's hand.
  • In episode 126, this card appears in a flashback Joey has when he remembers obtaining this card from Espa Roba during Battle City.
  • In episode 135, this card is seen in a series of flashbacks Yugi has when he remembers the previous Duels that Joey went through in Battle City.
  • When Téa Gardner and Serenity go through a park, they see this card under the control of a kid Dueling another kid. The former kid summons this card by tributing "Rocket Warrior". When this card was summoned out, its effect activates, destroying the latter kid's "Solemn Wishes". What happened next is unknown as the scene goes back to Téa and Serenity.

Waking the Dragons

  • When Joey Wheeler Duels Valon, Joey summons this card after sacrificing "Battle Warrior". This card then attacks Valon's "Psychic Armor Head" but Valon uses the effect of his Armor Monsters to redirect the attack to his "Buster Knuckle", destroying it instead. Valon's "Burning Knuckle" (powered up by its own effect and "The Seal of Orichalcos") then attacks this card, causing it to be destroyed by the counterattack but this activates the effect of "Burning Knuckle", decreasing this card's ATK by the ATK of "Burning Knuckle"(which was 1700, so this card's ATK got decreased to 700). Joey later attacks Valon's "Jet Gauntlet" with this card, but this activates the effect of Jet Gauntlet" destroying both battling monsters at the start of the Damage Step without Damage Calculation being applied.
  • In episode 182, Joey Summons this card to aide in the battle against The Great Leviathan. Yami, Joey, and Kaiba, after bringing out three monsters each, then summoned their Legendary Dragons. Yami then used "Legend of Heart" to transform the Dragons into the three Legendary Knights. All the monsters summoned by Yami, Joey, and Kaiba then attack The Great Leviathan, but it doesn't work. When the Great Leviathan counterattacks, Yami quickly has Timaeus absorb the power of "Big Shield Gardna" to protect everyone from the attack. While this saves the chosen Duelists and the Legendary Knights, it doesn't save the other monsters summoned by the Chosen Duelists as they were destroyed by the attack.

Grand Championship

  • The KC DuelTek 760 used this card when Yugi dueled against it. This card was summoned by tributing "Berserk Gorilla". The DuelTek's "Robbin' Goblin" was then destroyed because of this card's effect. This card then destroyed "The Dragon Dwelling in the Cave". Next turn this card destroyed "Baby Dragon", allowing the DuelTek's "Sinister Serpent" to attack Yugi directly. Yugi then used "Heart of the Underdog" to draw out seven Dragons, one of which was "Spirit Ryu". Yugi then summoned "Spirit Ryu" and then used it to attack this card. Yugi then activated the effect of "Spirit Ryu" during the Damage Step, discarding the six Dragon-type Normal Monsters he has in his hand to have "Spirit Ryu" gain 1000 ATK for each Dragon discarded. This makes the ATK of "Spirit Ryu" 7000. This card was then destroyed by "Spirit Ryu", winning Yugi the duel.
  • When Joey Wheeler Duels Apdnarg Otum, this card is shown in Joey's hand.
  • When Joey Wheeler Duels Zigfried von Schroeder, Joey summons this card one final time by sacrificing "Brigadier of Landstar". It then destroys Zigfried's set "Wotan's Judgment" with its own effect. Joey then attacks Zigfried directly afterwards with this card. Later, this card is destroyed by the effect of Zigfried's "Valkyrie Zwei" (one of his copies). Zigfried then used the effect of his "Valkyrie Erste" to remove this card from play so that way the Attack points of "Valkyrie Erste" would become the same as this card's until the End Phase.

Yu-Gi-Oh! GX

  • This card first appeared as a duel monster spirit who three Obelisk Blue students summoned into the real world. It drained the life force of two of the students, needing only one more to become solid material, and engaged in a duel with Jaden Yuki. During the duel, it summoned a copy of itself onto the field by sacrificing Malice Doll of Demise. The copy then destroyed Jaden's Elemental Hero Rampart Blaster with the former's effect forbidding Jaden from activating his set "Draining Shield". Next turn the copy destroyed Wroughtweiler which then activated the latter's effect, allowing Jaden to add "Elemental HERO Clayman" and "Polymerization". The spirit then equipped the copy of itself with "Amplifier", allowing him to use Trap Cards. On its next turn, the spirit had the copy of itself attack "Elemental HERO Bubbleman", but Jaden destroyed Bubble Blaster to prevent his monster's destruction and reduce the Battle Damage he would take from the attack 0. The spirit was later destroyed when Jaden used Clay Wrap to destroy "Amplifier", destroying the card as well. The spirit then attempted to resurrect itself with Call of the Haunted, but Jaden activates Solemn Judgment to negate the effect of "Call of the Haunted" and destroy it.
  • In episode 17, this card appears in a flashback Damon has when he explains how his written exams were the best, but his draws in Duels were the worst. This card is shown in a flashback duel that Damon had against an unknown student. This card was used by the unknown student. The result is not shown, but Damon lost since he drew "Fake Trap" which would be useless in helping him turn the duel in his favor.
  • It makes another appearance in a duel between a Slifer Red student and Syrus Truesdale. It was summoned by Tributing "Berserk Gorilla". Due to this card's effect, Syrus was unable to activate the "Magic Cylinder" in his hand, allowing the Slifer Red student to destroy Syrus' Jetroid with this card. This card is then destroyed by Syrus' "Super Vehicroid - Stealth Union", winning Syrus the duel.
  • In episode 111, this card briefly appears in one of the battles during the tournament hosted by Adrian Gecko. It was shown being used by a Ra Yellow Student during his Duel with another Ra Yellow Student.
  • Makoto Inotsume's deck revolves around this card. During Makoto's duel against Zane Truesdale, he sends this card from his Deck to the Graveyard to activate "Psychic Wave".
  • During Makoto's duel with Syrus Truesdale (who had taken over for Zane Truesdale after the latter collapsed due to his heart problems), he sends this card from his deck to the Graveyard to activate "Psychic Wave" to deliver 600 Direct Damage to Syrus, but that was foiled by Syrus's Fusion Guard. Makoto later used Jinzo - Returner's effect to Special Summon this card to the field from his Graveyard. This card's effect then negated the effects of Syrus' Rebirth Judgment. This card was then Tributed to summon Jinzo - Lord.
