My name is Sanokal, admin on this site, fanfiction author of Yu-Gi-Oh! Dissidia, part-time deviant, and the only New Zealander on the Internet, and that is all that you need to know. Oh fine, I'll put out a bit more.

G.O.D card appearances

Each "G.O.D." card references one or more of the Egyptian Gods:

  • "G.O.D.-Eyes" is a dragon with a saurian posture, referencing "The Winged Dragon of Ra", is the only one to possess a fixed original ATK score, referencing "Obelisk the Tormentor", and has an effect triggered by a specific action and can both raise its ATK by multiple of 1000 and reduce the ATK of an opponent's monster (in the manga), referencing "Slifer the Sky Dragon".
  • "Genesis Omega Dragon" is a serpentine dragon with an effect that increases its ATK by 1000 and one that is triggered by a specific action, referencing "Slifer the Sky Dragon", can destroy cards on the field instantly and is said to be the strongest of the series, referencing "The Winged Dragon of Ra", and its head is surrounded by spikes and crests, resembling those on the head of "Obelisk the Tormentor".

Card text (Toon monster fix)

All Toon monsters can attack the opponent directly while "Toon World" is on the field and the opponent controls no Toon monsters, and all Toon monsters except "Toon Dark Magician Girl" cannot attack during the turn they are Summoned. The first Toon monsters were Special Summon-only monsters with severe restrictions; while they could be Special Summoned rather than Normal Summoned, they required "Toon World" to be on the field for their initial Special Summon, were destroyed if "Toon World" was destroyed, had to attack Toon monsters if the opponent controlled them, and required an LP cost to attack. Later Toon monsters could be Normal Summoned and had relaxed restrictions, removing the LP cost for their attacks, the necessity to have "Toon World" on the field to be Summoned, and the requirement to attack opposing Toon monsters but they were still destroyed when "Toon World" was destroyed.

Toons received a fresh wave of support in Dragons of Legend 2 that provided several powerful support cards, including "Toon Kingdom", which could protect Toon monsters in a similar manner to their anime counterparts and was treated as "Toon World". Subsequent Toon monsters were released in Booster Packs with more relaxed restrictions than previously, removing their self-destruction effect when "Toon World" was destroyed.

There are four ways in which a Toon monster's text is written.

OCG/TCG

Toon monsters released in 2000

Card text: Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing x monsters, while you control "Toon World". Cannot attack the turn it is Special Summoned. You must pay 500 LP to declare an attack with this monster. If "Toon World" on the field is destroyed, destroy this card. Can attack your opponent directly, unless they control a Toon monster, in which case this card must target a Toon monster for its attacks.

Includes "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon", "Toon Summoned Skull", "Manga Ryu-Ran", and "Toon Mermaid". Only "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" has the current update of PSCT for this text; the other three all use an older text that implies that they cannot be Special Summoned, except by their own effects.

Toon monsters released in 2001

Card text: Cannot be Normal Summoned/Set. Must first be Special Summoned (from your hand) by Tributing x monsters, while you control "Toon World". If "Toon World" on the field is destroyed, destroy this card. Can attack your opponent directly, unless they control a Toon monster, in which case this card must target a Toon monster for its attacks.

Only 1 Toon monster uses this text: "Toon Dark Magician Girl"

Toon monsters released in 2002

Card text: Cannot attack the turn it is Summoned. If "Toon World" on the field is destroyed, destroy this card. While you control "Toon World" and your opponent controls no Toon monsters, this card can attack your opponent directly.

Includes "Toon Cannon Soldier", "Toon Gemini Elf", "Toon Goblin Attack Force", "Toon Masked Sorcerer". Only "Toon Masked Sorcerer" and "Toon Gemini Elf" have the current update of PSCT for this text; the other two all use older text.

Card text: Cannot attack the turn it is Summoned. While you control "Toon World" and your opponent controls no Toon monsters, this card can attack your opponent directly.

I like to consider myself an authority on R, considering I novelized it. Thus I'll attempt to clean up the related pages and add in summaries. Note this useful link as well, very difficult to find on the internet from my experience (thanks Deltaneos) and very valuable for potential DM, R, GX, and 5D's summaries that might need them in the future. You will be sorely missed, janime.

ARC-V

Okay, it seems like I'm the primary source of adding post-air information onto this wiki. So that's a thing. My memory might be a bit hazy though, so feel free to correct the info. One thing that I can't really do is upload images. I can move images from around the wiki, but what I'll do for when I don't have images is that I'll put down hidden notes for picture prompts.

Manga

I have easy access to most manga in English, except the recently released.

Current Priorities

  • With the end of VRAINS Season 1 comes an end to my perspective experiment. Thus I will be catching up on VRAINS and getting our content up to date.
  • Once my reserved books come in, write summaries for the English chapters of the manga that might need them. When I have time, assist properly in the cleanup of the manga summaries of Duelist.
  • TOP PRIORITY, as they take a long time to write, help update the overarching ARC-V summaries, correct the grammar in the character biographies, and severely shorten the history sections for pages like Lancers and Duel Academy (ARC-V). Summaries on the to-do list are 85, 135-140, 144-147, and then every other summary in order.
  • Doing the same for VRAINS. Summaries on the to-do-list are 30-37, and 39-46 in Season 1, and tentatively for Season 2; 47-49, 51-58, 69, 70, 72-102.
  • Possibly assist with the restructuring of the second series anime pages and 5D's if numbers are needed.
  • Assisting with creating Rulings pages.

Grinding

01. Find the place that spawns Chansey. 02. False Swipe said Chansey. 03. Keep False Swiping until you've determined whether that Chansey has fling. This is critical to the infinite SOS chain for farming Chansey/Blissey for EXP. 04. Once you've completed step 4, switch out to either Execute line or Phantump line that has Harvest as their ability and has the move Skill Swap. Skill Swap with your target Chansey. 05. Then give it a Leppa Berry via Trick/Switcheroo/Bestow from a Pokémon that can learn the move. 06. And there you have it! Your infinite SOS chain for EXP farming is complete! As long as you don't knock out the Chansey of course.

Tip: - Use Decidueye. Chansey & Blissey that you encounter only has Egg Bomb and Fling. Poor attacl means literally no damage, lol.

Oh, a few more things.

Because Chansey knows Fling, it'll fling the Leppa Berry to your Pokémon, therefore restoring the PP of whichever move that's the lowest.

Harvest ensures it can do that infinitely while also keeping it's own PP topped up.

ARC-V Episode 80 Summary (started by Denversapple)

After his victorious Duel with Shinji, Sam met Yuya as he left on his Duel Runner. The Topsiders thanked Yuya as he "stopped" Shinji's drivel about the revolution, while the Commons and Crow expressed their hatred for Shinji's defeat. Yuya later realized that he put the victory over his entertainment Duel so he could reach Jack and that made him deepen the commotion between him and the Commons. Shinji returned and at the same time, Jean-Michel_Roger approached Yuya as he was impressed by the Duel, especially when Yuya Pendulum-Synchro Summoned. Because of this, the Commons suspected to have a connection from the Tops and the Security such as being chosen as Jack's opponent earlier though he is not known in the City. Roger defended Yuya saying that he just believed in his potential, by Yuya having the Pendulum Summon.

Roger also said that it was best for Yuya to test the Pendulum Summon with his battle with Jack, where Roger expected Jack's victory. Because of this, the High Council suspected that Roger might be trying to win Yuya by his side but Declan said that he's not that foolish. Sam also started to distrust Yuya and Roger sent Shinji to the Underground Labor Facility. After the incidents, Yuya left to his Duel Runner, claiming that she found Zuzu but a Security officer blocked him. Roger told the officer to let him go. Yuya escaped the Duel Palace and started to call Sora in the Tops' area and later in the slums, not knowing that he was being followed by an officer. Sora found Yuya and the two of them hid. The officer tossed a tracking device and left.

Sora explained that Zuzu was alive and he kept her in a safe place. He also explained his objectives since the Battle Royal and why he was in the Synchro Dimension: to save Zuzu. After Sora teleported away the end of his Duel with Yuya in the Battle Royal, he immediately came to Duel Academy to search for her, but she was not there. Sora also learned that Leo also wanted Zuzu and Celina, so he returned to Standard Dimension only to learn that Declan formed the Lancers, so he came to the Synchro Dimension. After hearing Dennis' connection in Lulu's disappearance, he sent Dennis back to Duel Academy to protect Zuzu. Yuya told him that because he sent Dennis back, the Academy would know that Zuzu and Selena were in the Synchro Dimension, but Sora interrupted that the Academy would know anyway since Obelisk Force may come in the Synchro Dimension soon. Because of Sora's loyalty to the Academy's goal to bring Celina back to the Fusion Dimension, he made a proposal to Yuy| A = Yuya must bring Celina to Sora while he handed over Zuzu to Yuya and she will be sent back to Standard Dimension. Yuya disagreed because he could not abandon Selena.

Roger eavesdropped on the conversation the whole time via the tracking device. Now knowing that Dennis returned to the Academy, he became afraid that Leo would send Yuri into the dimension. Hesitantly, he went to secure Yuya and Sora to forcefully tell him about Zuzu's location. Yuya swore to defeat Academy and hoped that Sora would open his eyes soon. Yuya saw an officer from a rooftop who shot a net aiming to trap Sora. Yuya pushed Sora out of the way and got caught instead. Yuya told Sora to protect Zuzu; as Sora left, Yuya wished him luck.

VRAINS Episode 11 section

Varis declares his turn and draws. During the Standby Phase, the effect of "Beltlink Wall Dragon" causes it to gain a Wall Counter, and the fourth red light on its head lights up. Then he activates the effect of "Triple Burst Dragon", Tributing it to Special Summon a Link Monster from his Graveyard and then a Dragon monster from his hand. He Special Summons "Twin Triangle Dragon" from his Graveyard, then "Sniffer Dragon" from his hand. The effect of "Sniffer Dragon" activates since it was Normal or Special Summoned, allowing Varis to add another copy from his Deck to his hand, which he immediately Summons. He declares, "Appear, the future circuit that lights up my path!" and he and his four monsters pass through a Circuit to enter a green world. Authorizing the arrowheads, Varis explains that the Summoning conditions are at least three Effect Monsters, and he Sets the Link-2 "Twin Triangle Dragon" and his two "Sniffer Dragons" in the Link Arrows to combine the circuit. He chants, "My new wind that pierces through the closed world! Link Summon! Appear, Link-4! Borreload Dragon!"

"Borreload Dragon" lets out a deep metallic roar as it appears with 3000 ATK, and Playmaker recognizes the dragon from when he saw it as Yusaku, realizing that this is Varis's ace monster. Varis reminds Playmaker that the effect of "Fire Prison" has caused his Cyberse monsters to vanish, and he orders "Borreload Dragon" to attack Playmaker directly. "Borreload Dragon's" cylinder begins spinning as it crackles with pink electricity and Varis announces, "Charging energy...Borreload Charge! Target...locked on!" as "Borreload Dragon" opens its mouth and a cannon barrel extends from its maw, and it targets Playmaker in its HUD. Varis activates his anti-glare protection, and declares "Final safety removed!" as the wing bars of "Borreload Dragon" slam down, cutting off the flow of its hardlight wings and fire begins building at the end of its cannon. Telling Playmaker to take this, Varis orders the "Borrel Cannon of Lightning" attack of "Borreload Dragon", and "Borreload Dragon" blasts a cannon-blast of flame from its maw that slams into Playmaker and blasts him across the ledge, reducing his LP to 600. The impact causes the Data Storm surrounding them to intensify, and the watching Kolter cries Yusaku's name, while Ghost Gal whispers Playmaker's name. The dust clears to reveal Playmaker crumpled on the ground, and Varis's anti-glare protection retracts as he ends his turn. Akira whispers Playmaker's name in shock as Varis comments that it seems as though their match has ended before Playmaker could run out of LP.

Playmaker thinks that if he doesn't do something this turn, he'll definitely lose, but what can he do? He looks at Varis's two Dragons, and then suddenly he sees the Extra Deck chamber of his Duel Disk glowing blue. The outline of "Firewall Dragon" flashes over it, and he realizes that the new pulse of the Cyberse in his Deck hasn't vanished yet. (missing text where he contacts Ai) He tells them that he knows they're there, and asks them to lend him their strength, asking the Cyberse to respond. He declares his turn and draws, then activates the Field Spell Card, "Cynet Universe", which will increase the ATK of Link Monsters he controls by 300. Varis smirks, commenting that whatever Playmaker tries is pointless; the Cyberse are already gone. The images of "Decode Talker" and "Encode Talker" flash before Playmaker, and he tells Varis that he's wrong; the Cyberse are still here, and he can hear their pulses. Varis recoils in shock, and Playmaker declares, "Appear, the circuit that leads to the future!" As he and his two "code Talkers" leap into the air, Varis asks what he's going to do. Entering an amber world, Playmaker authorizes the arrowheads, explaining that the Summoning conditions are at least two monsters. He Sets the Link-3 "Decode Talker" and "Encode Talker" in the Link Arrow to combine the circuit, and Varis is shocked that Playmaker is using his two ace monsters as Link Material. Playmaker declares that this is the Cyberse's new potential, as he Link Summons the Link-4 "Firewall Dragon", which appears with 2500 ATK. Varis gasps that this is the monster that Playmaker got from the Data Storm, and his "Fire Prison" card suddenly disintegrates, much to the watching Dr. Kogami's surprise. The "Fire Prison" dissolves into embers, and Varis angrily admits that when the Cyberse monsters that "Fire Prison" sealed have all left the field, "Fire Prison" is destroyed. Playmaker's Duel Disk shines with a purple column of light, and Ai's eye reappears on the surface.

VRAINS Episode 42 sections

In the Kogami family's house overlooking the bay, Varis stands at the window at night, the light of a bioluminescent section of water reflected in his eyes. He vows to his father that he will fulfill his wishes.

Within the fourth ring of the Tower of Hanoi, the Data Storm roils more violently than ever. Varis tells Playmaker that this is the final blow, and orders "Blast Powder Dragon" to attack Playmaker directly. "Blast Powder Dragon" breathes a spurt of flames at Playmaker, and Pigeon cries that Playmaker is going to lose. Frog protests that this is bad; if Playmaker loses the network will be destroyed. Pigeon screams, asking what's going to happen, and Kolter asks in frustration if Yusaku can't do anything. Ai screams in fear, telling Playmaker that it'll be over if he gets hit by this. Playmaker activates a Quick-Play Spell Card, "Spool Code", which generates a blue shield around itself that blocks the flames, much to Varis's surprise. Playmaker explains that since he has at least three Cyberse monsters in his Graveyard, Varis's direct attack is negated, and then he can Special Summon three "Spool Tokens" in Defense Position. Ai wipes his brow, relieved that they're safe, and Varis mutters that Playmaker dodged it, but he activates the effect of "Flash Charge Dragon"; once per turn when a monster is Normal or Special Summoned to a zone it points to, he can destroy that monster and then inflict 500 damage to Playmaker. "Flash Charge Dragon" fires a blast from its tail cannon, destroying the "Spool Token" directly opposite it and blasting Playmaker back, reducing him to 400 LP. Varis ends his turn, and the effect of "Blast Powder Dragon" ends, returning the ATK of "Flash Charge Dragon" to normal.

Playmaker states that he isn't giving up yet and he declares his turn and draws. He immediately chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" He explains that the Summoning condition is one Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster, so he sets a "Spool Token" in the Link Arrow, Link Summoning the Link-1 "Link Disciple". Next he Normal Summons "Swap Cleric", then chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" again, and Ai cheers for the consecutive Link Summons. This time, the Summoning conditions are two monsters (punctuated by both Playmaker and Ai holding up two fingers and declaring this) so Playmaker sets the last "Spool Token" and "Swap Cleric" in the Link Arrows, Link Summoning the Link-2 "Security Dragon". He explains that since "Swap Cleric" was used to Link Summon, "Security Dragon" will lose 500 ATK, falling to 600, and then he can draw a card. Next he activates the effect of "Security Dragon"; once per turn since it is co-linked, he can target one monster Varis controls and return it to his hand. He chooses "Flash Charge Dragon", which begins to fizzle, and Ai admits that he didn't expect that move. Varis smirks, commenting that Playmaker believes that this will allow him to make a comeback, but it's too bad. Playmaker gasps in shock, and Varis activates the effect of "Flash Charge Dragon" since it was targeted by an effect, Tributing a monster he controls to negate that effect. He Tributes "Blast Powder Dragon", negating the effect of "Security Dragon", and "Flash Charge Dragon" settles and snarls. Ai laments that the effect of "Security Dragon" was negated, and Playmaker only has 400 LP...400?!

Playmaker looks to the side and he heads towards the Data Storm whirling in the center of the ring. Ai asks in shock if Playmaker is going to use his Skill in there, and a small piece of debris scars Playmaker's cheek, leaving a magenta wound of data. Playmaker asks if Ai can't feel it, and Ai lowers his arms and looks at the Data Storm. Playmaker explains that there's a high-density Data Storm over there. Another piece of debris nicks his hip, and he winces. Ai protests that if Playmaker goes in there, he'll be putting himself at risk and not just Ai. Playmaker suffers another wound, losing a chip off his shoulder, and he states that there's no other way to defeat Varis. Ai wilts, and Playmaker swerves through the debris as he approaches the Data Storm. Varis asks if Playmaker is going to destroy himself, and Playmaker comes to a stop in front of the Data Storm with a fresh wound in his other shoulder, watching the depths of the Storm crackle with electricity. Playmaker declares "Storm Access!" and he reaches into the Data Storm. He screams in pain as his hand passes into it, and Ai begs him not to do it. But Playmaker pushes further, and the card begins to coalesce before his eyes... And then a current in the Data Storm violently whips him to the side. His Avatar's arm is severed below the wrist, magenta data spurting from the wound, and he falls from his Duel Board, wondering if he's done for.

Ai calls Playmaker's name. He looks up in shock as someone grabs his unharmed arm - Ai, at human size and riding his Duel Board. Playmaker whispers Ai's name, and a small worm resembling Ai creeps across his body, healing his wounds and restoring his hand. Ai vocally grins, commenting that he saved his secret move until the end. He declares that Playmaker's right arm has been regenerated, and tells him to get on the Board. With that, Ai pulls Playmaker up and back onto his Duel Board, while vanishing back into his Duel Disk. As Playmaker dodges debris, he asks how Ai is able to do that. Ai declares that if his partner is going overboard, so will he. He emerges from Playmaker's Duel Disk again in his monster form, declaring that he will steer the Duel Board. He disappears into the Board, changing it to high-speed mode, and the side portions of the Duel Board tilt down and bright purple energy spurts from the back as the Duel Board accelerates forwards. He adds that he'll shield Playmaker as well, but only for 30 seconds, so he'd better do it by then. Playmaker protests at what will happen if Ai does this, and Ai tells him to shut up, emerging from the Duel Board to shield Playmaker and declaring that this is how he atones. They surge into the Data Storm, and a piece of debris punctures Ai's shield. Ai admits that there are weak spots, and Playmaker agrees, then he activates his Skill, "Storm Access". He yells as energy roils ahead of him and he struggles to keep his hand steady, closing his eye as he dodges another piece of debris. Then he sees Ai's hand reach out with his, and Ai tells him to seize the wind. The card appears in front of him, and he emerges from the Data Storm. Ai's image appears before Playmaker, bidding him goodbye. The shield dissipates, and Playmaker calls Ai's name, looking at his Duel Disk, but the Ignis's eye isn't present on the surface. Playmaker closes his eyes and turns away from his Duel Disk, then he opens his eyes and glares at Varis, telling him that he's coming. Varis is shocked that Playmaker was able to accomplish "Storm Access".

Playmaker chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" Authorizing the Link Arrows, he explains that the Summoning conditions are at least two Effect Monsters, and he sets "Link Disciple" and the Link-2 "Security Dragon" in the Link Arrows to link the Circuit, Link Summoning the Link-3 "Transcode Talker". The newest "Code Talker" appears with 2300 ATK, and Varis scoffs, asking if this is the new power that Playmaker acquired. Playmaker activates the effect of "Transcode Talker", allowing him to Special Summon a "Code Talker" Link Monster from his Graveyard to a zone that it points to. He orders "Decode Talker" to resurrect, and reminds Varis that its "Power Integration" effect will increase its ATK by 500 for each monster it points to as it increases to 2800 ATK. Then the effect of "Transcode Talker" increases both its and the ATK of "Decode Talker" by a further 500 since they are co-linked, increasing to 2800 and 3300 ATK respectively. Then Playmaker activates a Field Spell Card, "Cynet Storm", increasing the ATK and DEF of linked monsters by 500. "Transcode Talker" and "Decode Talker" increase to 3300 ATK and 3800 ATK respectively. Playmaker declares battle, first attacking "Flash Charge Dragon" with "Decode Talker". "Decode Talker" attacks and destroys "Flash Charge Dragon" with "Decode Destruction", blasting Varis away and reducing him to 2500 LP. Playmaker declares that now Varis has no monsters, and this next attack will end Varis. "Transcode Talker" attacks Varis directly, unfolding its massive cannon from its back. Playmaker declares the finishing blow, "Transcode Finish", and "Transcode Talker" fires a blast of energy at Varis.

But Varis Special Summons "Chobham Armor Dragon" from his hand, much to Playmaker's shock. Varis explains that he can Special Summon it from his hand when he is attacked directly. Playmaker protests that it has zero ATK, but Varis explains that the effect of "Chobham Armor Dragon" cannot be destroyed by battle during the turn it was Special Summoned by its own effect, and the damage he takes is halved. The attack envelops "Chobham Armor Dragon", destroying its green outer shell and revealing the thinner pink-armored form beneath, and Varis grunts as his Avatar fizzles and his LP falls to 850. Playmaker grits his teeth; Varis stopped him. Varis warns Playmaker not to underestimate him, and Playmaker ends his turn.

Varis comments that he's up, and he declares his turn and draws. An exhausted, but far smaller Ai emerges from Playmaker's Duel Disk, admitting that he thought that he was going to die. Playmaker is surprised by Ai's appearance and he asks if he shrunk. Ai explains that it was because he repaired his program quickly and tells Playmaker not to worry about it. Anyway, Varis is pretty tough, but against two "Code Talkers" it's only a matter of time. Varis snorts, reminding the Ignis that he has the same Skill they do, and Playmaker gasps in shock, realizing that his last attack left Varis with less than 1000 LP. Varis looks at his hand, thinking that he should be able to control the Data Storm with his father's data material control program no matter how strong the winds are. A purple glow appears around his hand, and then his Duel Board extends fins from the side and jets forwards. Playmaker gasps Varis's name as he approaches the Data Storm, and the green lines on his suit glow as he reaches into it, but his hand is forced back. Varis gasps that the Data Storm's density is too high, but if Playmaker can do it, so can he.

He draws his arm back and plunges it into the Data Storm. For a moment it seems as though he's succeeded, but then he's ripped from his Duel Board and flung into the debris of the ring, missing his right arm above the elbow. Playmaker calls Varis's name and Ai boasts that Varis can't do it because he doesn't have him. Having managed to land back on his Duel Board, Varis grips the stump of his arm, growling that he can't afford to lose, and he jets forwards again towards the Data Storm. Playmaker is shocked that Varis is trying again, and Ai comments that Varis wants to succeed no matter the cost. With a wild cry, Varis hurtles forwards towards the Data Storm...

And then time seems to stand still. Varis comes to a stop, as does the turmoiling data of the ring around him, and he asks what's going on. Playmaker and Ai have been frozen too, and Playmaker is shocked that everything seems to have stopped. Ai asks what is happening. Outside the Data Storm however, Pigeon and Frog are still moving normally and Frog cries that it stopped, while Pigeon asks what's going on. Frog asks if the camera is still filming normally, and Pigeon confirms that it is. Kolter asks in shock if it's a bug.

Then a voice calls Varis's name. Varis recognizes the voice, and Dr. Kogami's image emerges from the Data Storm, many times its usual size and glowing with a bright light. Playmaker and Kolter recognize Dr. Kogami, shocked to learn that he's alive. Varis asks his father why he's here. Kogami calls him "Ryoken", telling him that he never did a single fatherly thing for him, he only made him suffer. But Ryoken didn't complain even once, and he was a great son. Believe him, he never wanted to involve Ryoken in this, but without him, the world can't be saved from destruction. Varis replies that he knows and Playmaker wonders what they are talking about, and Ai asks what's going on. Kogami tells Varis that he can't lose here, so he shall give him his final strength. Varis repeats the term and then he protests that if he does that... Kogami states that he doesn't care, urging Varis to protect humanity's future in his place; he is his final and only hope. With that said, his image turns into golden energy and enters Varis's Avatar, regenerating his arm. Varis looks at the replaced appendage in shock, and then he looks up and gasps as he beholds a path of blue radiance in front of him that leads straight into the Data Storm. Ryoken simultaneously remembers seeing it in the real world with his father as well from their house; the Stardust Road. "Father..." he whispers. Playmaker asks what's going on, and Ai gasps that a path is forming in front of Varis.

And then time restarts, the winds of the Data Storm beginning to whirl again. Ai yelps that it's back to how it was as he and Playmaker are buffeted by the winds, and Varis, still glowing with the energy of his father, briefly falters and then he begins to make his way forwards down the path. He surfs straight into the Data Storm and activates his Skill, chanting "Reside in my hand! Storm Access!" The new monster briefly flits across Varis's field of view before the card abruptly forms in his hand and he grasps it - "Topologic Gumblar Dragon". He emerges from the Data Storm, the path disintegrating behind him as he returns along it. The golden glow fades as Varis takes his place within the debris of the ring beside "Chobham Armor Dragon", and he looks at his Duel Disk, which displays an emergency call depicting a heart rate fluctuating at 30-38 bpm declaring "DANGER". Ai gasps that Varis did it, and Varis lowers his Duel Disk and declares that the Stardust Road led him to it. Playmaker is surprised to hear Varis mention the term.

Varis activates the Spell Card "Link Recovery", Special Summoning a Link Monster from his Graveyard. He resurrects "Flash Charge Dragon", and he explains that if Playmaker controls fewer monsters than the resurrected monster's Link Rating, he can draw cards equal to the difference; Playmaker controls two monsters and "Flash Charge Dragon" is Link-3, so Playmaker draws one card. Varis adds that he is also prevented from attacking this turn, but regardless chants "Manifest! The future circuit that lights up my path!" Authorizing the Link Arrows, he explains that the Summoning conditions are at least two Effect Monsters, and he sets "Chobham Armor Dragon" and the Link-3 "Flash Charge Dragon" in the Link Arrows. Ai observes that Varis has a new Link-4 monster (in the dub, he yelps that Varis will be bringing out the new monster he just obtained). Varis Link Summons the Link-4 "Topologic Gumblar Dragon", which produces fierce winds in the Data Storm upon its summoning as it appears behind Varis with 3000 ATK. Ai screams that Varis summoned something terrifying.

Varis looks at his Duel Disk again; the heart rate is still at 30bpm He grits his teeth and explains that when "Chobham Armor Dragon" is used to Link Summon, they each return a monster in the Graveyards to their hands. He selects "Spin-Headed Behemoth", while Playmaker takes back "Backup Secretary". The readout on Varis's Duel Disk then drops to zero bpm, and Varis apologizes to Playmaker - he can't continue this Duel (in the dub, he admits that he never thought there'd be something more important to attend to than the Duel). Playmaker asks "What?" and Varis Special Summons "Drop Draco" from his hand in Defense Position. This activates the effect of "Topologic Gumblar Dragon" since a monster was Special Summoned to a zone that a Link Monster points to, destroying both of their hands. "Topologic Gumblar Dragon" blasts out purple energy behind it in the shape of an infinity symbol as Varis declares "Infinite Destruction", blasting out a surge of dark red gas that consumes the cards in their hands.

Then Varis activates the effect of "Drop Draco" since cards were sent from the hand to the Graveyard, inflicting 300 damage to both of them for each card. Three cards ("Spin-Headed Behemoth", "Backup Secretary" and "Three Strikes Barrier") were sent to the Graveyard, so they both take 900 damage. "Drop Draco" releases its bombs, and Ai protests "No way!" Playmaker begins to cry that they'll both lose if this happens (in the dub he completes his sentence) and the bombs detonate, flinging them off their Duel Boards and reducing their LP to zero. Kolter gets up and protests that now the Tower of Hanoi will absorb Yusaku. As both Playmaker and Varis hurl through the debris field, Varis sadly whispers "Father..."

VRAINS Episode 44 section

Playmaker declares his turn and draws, then he immediately chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" As the Circuit appears above them, Ai protests that Link Summoning is a bad matchup against "Mirror Force". Playmaker ignores him, authorizing the Link Arrows and setting "Rescue Interlacer" and the Link-2 "Restoration Point Guard" in the Link Arrows to link the Circuit, Link Summoning the Link-3 "Transcode Talker". He activates its effect, Special Summoning a "Code Talker" monster from his Graveyard to a zone that it points to, resurrecting "Excode Talker". Ai protests that Playmaker is reviving a monster to a zone "Transcode Talker" points to while Varis has "Topologic Bomber Dragon" out, but then he realizes what monster Playmaker revived. Playmaker reminds Varis that monsters that "Excode Talker" points to gain 500 ATK and can't be destroyed by Varis' card effects. "Transcode Talker" increases to 2800 ATK, but Ai protests that "Excode Talker" will be destroyed. Varis agrees, activating the "Full Overlap" effect of "Topologic Bomber", and "Topologic Bomber Dragon" blasts out its energy wings.

Playmaker activates a Trap Card, "Shield Handler", since an effect that would destroy a monster was activated, negating the effects of a Link Monster on the field. "Topologic Bomber's" energy wings fade as it becomes cloaked in a ghostly light, and Varis is surprised, but then smiles, musing on the fact that a card has sealed the effects of "Topologic Bomber" (in the dub, he comments that Playmaker is full of surprises). Playmaker replies that it's not all; after "Shield Handler" activates it becomes an Equip Card that prevents the equipped monster from being destroyed by card effects, and he equips it to "Excode Talker". Then he adds that the effect of "Transcode Talker" also increases the ATK of "Transcode" and "Excode", who increase to 3300 and 2800 ATK respectively. Ai celebrates that "Transcode" and "Excode" can't be destroyed, and that "Transcode" now has more ATK than "Topologic Bomber Dragon". Varis admits that Playmaker's move was impressive, and that he greatly sealed his offense. Ai punches the air, claiming that Varis won't be talking so big anymore, and he begins to order the attack of "Transcode Talker", but Playmaker tells him that he's not attacking yet. Ai is caught off guard, but he asks if Playmaker will be doing something else. Playmaker states that he'll end this now, and he returns "ROM Cloudia" from his Graveyard to his hand to Special Summon "SIMM Tablir", explaining that he can Special Summon it to a zone a Link Monster points to. Then he Normal Summons "ROM Cloudia", reminding Varis that when it's Summoned, he can add a Cyberse monster from his Graveyard to his hand. He chooses "Latency", and "ROM Cloudia" glows purple and bleats as it activates its effect. Playmaker adds that he can Special Summon "Latency" once per turn when it's added to his hand from his Graveyard, and "Latency" appears on the field. Playmaker chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" again, declaring that the Summoning conditions are three monsters, and he sets "SIMM Tablir", "ROM Cloudia" and "Latency" in the Link Arrows to link the Circuit, Link Summoning the Link-3 "Powercode Talker". Then he activates the effect of "Latency" since it was Special Summoned via its own effect and used to Link Summon, drawing a card. "Excode Talker's" effect then increases the ATK of "Powercode Talker" to 2800 and prevents it from being destroyed by card effects. Ai celebrates that they have three Link Monsters out, all of whom cannot be destroyed by effects, so they have nothing to fear.

Varis tells Playmaker that he's the one who fell for his strategy. He declares his turn and draws, then immediately activates the Quick-Play Spell Card "Squib Draw" from his hand, destroying a "Rokket" monster he controls to draw two cards. Destroying "Autorokket Dragon", he draws and then activates the effect of the Field Spell Card "Boot Sector Launch", since Playmaker controls more monsters than him, Varis can Special Summon "Rokket" monsters from his Graveyard in Defense Position equal to the difference. Playmaker controls two more monsters, so Varis revives "Shelrokket" and "Metalrokket Dragon", whose DEF increase to 2300 and 1700 respectively due to the effect of "Boot Sector Launch". Varis chants "Appear! The future circuit that lights up my path!" and authorizes the Link Arrows, declaring that the Summoning conditions are two "Rokket" monsters, and he sets "Shelrokket" and "Metalrokket" in the Link Arows, Link Summoning the Link-2 "Miniborrel Dragon". Then he Summons "Gateway Dragon" and activates its effect, Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower DARK Dragon monster from his hand. He Special Summons "Sniffer Dragon", which emerges from "Gateway Dragon's" portal. Ai notes that this means that it's coming, and Varis chants "Appear! The future circuit that lights up my path!" He declares that the Summoning conditions are at least three Effect Monsters, and he sets "Gateway", "Sniffer" and the Link-2 "Miniborrel" in the Link Arrows to link the circuit. He declares that this is the bullet that will decide their destiny, as he Link Summons the Link-4 "Borreload Dragon".

Ai gasps that Varis's incredible dragon appeared, but he crows that they have the higher ATK. Playmaker notes that for an A.I. he can't remember anything; he's forgotten the effect of "Borreload Dragon". Ai asks what it was again, and Varis crows that he'll tell them. He tells them to learn overwhelming despair and activates the effect of "Borreload Dragon", reducing the ATK and DEF of a monster by 500, an effect that cannot be responded to. "Borreload" blasts a red beam from its mouth, reducing "Powercode Talker" back to 2300 ATK, then Varis orders it to attack "Transcode Talker". "Borreload" opens its mouth and fires a blue bullet from its cannon, much to Ai's shock, as the 3000 ATK "Borreload" is attacking the 3300 ATK "Transcode". Varis activates the effect of "Borreload" since it attacked a monster, taking control of it in a zone that "Borreload" points to. He declares "Strange Trigger" and the bullet glows magenta and then slams into "Trasncode Talker", causing it to begin to glitch as the effect takes hold before vanishing. Ai cries in horror that he remembers the effect now.

"Transcode Talker" reappears on Varis's field in a burst of lightning, and Varis states that since it is on his field now, "Excode Talker" loses the 500 ATK that it gained, falling back to 2300 ATK. Then the effect of "Transcode Talker" re-activates since it is now co-linked with "Topologic Bomber Dragon", increasing their ATK by 500, to 2800 and 3500 respectively. Varis orders "Topologic Bomber Dragon" to attack "Excode Talker" with "Malicious Mayhem", and "Topologic Bomber" blasts its magenta beam at "Excode Talker", destroying it and reducing Playmaker to 1800 LP. Since "Excode Talker" left the field, its effect ends and "Powercode Talker" loses another 500 ATK, falling to 1800. Next, "Transcode Talker" attacks "Powercode Talker", destroying it with one swift blast from its cannon, sending Playmaker skidding backwards with a cry as his LP falls to 800. He falls to one knee, and Kolter cries Yusaku's name. Pigeon cries Playmaker's name, and Frog admits that Varis is strong. As Playmaker gets to his feet, Ai can't believe that all of their monsters were destroyed. Varis calls Playmaker's name, telling him that there's no new path left for them; they are prisoners of destiny, chained by the past of a decade ago. Therefore, he will server everything now.

VRAINS Episode 45 section

Varis explains that by removing two Rokket Counters from "Link Turrent", he can Special Summon "Metalrokket Dragon" and "Shelrokket Dragon". Two of the triangular prisms glow with yellow light and point towards Varis's Main Monster Zones, releasing burst of light that transform into the two "rokkets". As the light explodes from the counters, Varis reminds Playmaker that the effect of the Field Spell Card "Boot Sector Launch" will increase the ATK and DEF of "rokket" monsters by 300, and "Metalrokket" and "Shelrokket" rise to 1700 and 2300 DEF respectively. Varis chants "Appear! The future circuit that lights up my path!" and Playmaker gasps that he's summoning another Link Monster. Authorizing the Link Arrows, Varis explains that the summoning conditions are at least three Effect Monsters, so he sets "Shelrokket", "Metalrokket", and "Miniborrel Dragon" in the Link Arrows to link the Circuit. Playmaker observes that it's a Link-4 monster, and Varis explains that the monster Special Summoned by "Link Turret" will be banished when it leaves the field, before Link Summoning the Link-4 "Borrelguard Dragon", also with 3000 ATK. Ai gasps that they've never seen this monster before; it's the incredible dragon's friend. Playmaker states that it's Varis's new "Borrel" monster.

Varis activates the effect of "Borrelguard Dragon"; by sending a Spell or Trap Card on his field to the Graveyard, he can Special Summon one monster that was destroyed by battle this turn with its effects negated. "Borrelguard" glows purple as Varis sends "Mirror Force Launcher" to his Graveyard to revive "Powercode Talker", declaring "Rewind Phase". Ai is shocked that Varis revived a monster from their Graveyard, but it doesn't stay on the field long; Varis Tributes it to revive "Miniborrel Dragon" once again. Then Varis activates the effect of "Link Turret" again, removing two rokket Counters to Special Summon "Magnarokket Dragon" and "Shelrokket Dragon". As before, the two counters explode into yellow light, forming into the two "rokket" monsters as their DEF increases by 300. Varis orders the future circuit that lights up his path to appear, declaring that the Summoning conditions are at least three Effect Monsters. He sets "Magnarokket", "Shelrokket", and the Link-2 "Miniborrel Dragon" in the Link Arrows to link the circuit and Link Summon the Link-4 "Borrelsword Dragon". Ai gasps that Varis has four Link-4 Dragons, and Frog and Pigeon both watch in awe, Pigeon calling it incredible and claiming to be so excited that his heart has been stolen despite being a pigeon (a Japanese play on words). Frog orders him to stop saying silly things and keep filming, otherwise they won't be able to go home, even though he's a frog (another play on words in Japanese). Meanwhile in a cafe, Shima watches the Duel in awe on his tablet, likewise shocked that Varis has four Link-4 monsters, which by simple math would have required sixteen monsters to be summoned.

Varis laughs, thanking Playmaker. Had he not negated the effect of "Topologic Bomber Dragon", this situation wouldn't have been possible. Playmaker grits his teeth, and Varis activates the effect of "Borrelguard Dragon" again, sending "Mirror Force" to his Graveyard to revive "Excode Talker". He declares "Rewind Phase" as "Excode Talker" appears on his field, and Ai is confused, protesting that "Mirror Force" was supposed to be his trump card. Playmaker replies that this means that "Mirror Force" is no longer Varis's trump card, and he wonders if Varis has a trump card more powerful than "Mirror Force". Then he realizes what Varis plans to do, and Varis confirms it. He activates the effect of "Link Turret" again, removing a rokket Counter to Special Summon "Anesthrokket Dragon", whose DEF increases due to "Boot Sector Launch". Then Varis orders the future circuit that lights up his path to appear, and as the Circuit materializes, Playmaker gasps that Varis is Link Summoning for a fifth time, while Ai wonders what will show up. Varis chants that the arrowheads are authorized; the summoning conditions are at least two Effect Monsters. He Sets "Anesthrokket Dragon" and the Link-3 "Excode Talker" in the Link Arrows, combining the circuit and causing massive twisters to tear through the area around them. Ai screams, asking what the light is.

Varis explains that normally a player is only allowed to use one of the Extra Monster Zones, but when the two Extra Monster Zones are co-linked, a monster can be Special Summoned in the other Extra Monster Zone (in the dub, this is when Varis first names an Extra Link). The winds intensify as Playmaker gasps, "What?!" and Varis tells him that this is the Duel in the extreme domain. He tells his monster to manifest as the stream of energy emerging from the Circuit twists into an infinity symbol and then into the form of his monster, and he Link Summons the Link-4 "Topologic Gumblar Dragon". Varis declares an Extra Link as the five 3000 ATK Link-4 dragons rise in formation over Playmaker and Ai.

Ai gasps in shock, and Kolter asks what's up with this. Frog is crying, and Pigeon asks if he's feeling sick. Frog sobs, asking what's with Varis; he's crazy. He screams that he's going home, he wants to go home. Shima is also floored, asking if this is for real. He doesn't want to see Playmaker lose, so he shuts off his tablet.

VRAINS Episode 48 sections

, he can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from his Graveyard. "Cyberse Witch" glows purple and raises her staff; the orb in the top glowing as Playmaker Special Summons "Cyberse Wizard" from his Graveyard. Ai giggles, wearing a witch's hat and stirring a cauldron as he chants "Du-Du-Duel!"

Then Playmaker activates the Ritual Spell Card, "Cynet Ritual" from his hand, and the lines on his suit glow blue. Haru is shocked to see a Ritual Spell, and Playmaker explains that he will Tribute monsters from his hand and field whose total Level equals or surpasses the Level of the Cyberse Ritual Monster that he's Ritual Summoning from his hand. As he Tributes the Level 4 "Cyberse Wizard" and the Level 3 "Defcon Bird", a magic circle forms, lit with seven blue flames. The two monsters disintegrate and flow into the circle, and Playmaker chants "The contract has been made. The sage who wields dark power inherits these two souls! Ritual Summon! Descend, Cyberse Magician!" Haru is shocked to see a Cyberse Ritual Monster, protesting that it wasn't in the data. Playmaker Sets a card, then attacks "Flow Hydradrive" with "Cyberse Magician". As "Cyberse Magician" lunges forwards, Playmaker explains that it will gain 1000 ATK when it battles a Link Monster, and its staff slightly extends and glows as it rises to 3500 ATK.

VRAINS Episode 49 sections

Bit tells them that they're resisting in vain, and Boot asks them what they can do with a single card. Soulburner's eyes blaze as he tells them that they'll show them. He raises his hand and declares that this is Link Summoning's new potential. "Heatleo" becomes engulfed in flames, and he chants "Surging flame, awaken Heatleo's true strength with the power of purification!" The stream of fire enters a glowing pink portal above him, and then it blasts a surge of fire from the portal. Soulburner declares a Reincarnation Link Summon, and chants "Resurrect, the king of beasts that runs through the fire prairie! Salamangreat Heatleo!" as "Heatleo" emerges from the flames, now with more intense flames surging from its body. Bit and Boot gasp, and Frog and Pigeon call it awesome. Pigeon asks what happened, but Frog finds himself unable to answer. Zaizen notes that "Heatleo's" summoning conditions are at least two FIRE Effect Monsters, and Blue Angel is also watching the Duel on her Duel Disk, repeating the Summoning name in confusion.

VRAINS Episode 54 sections

Playmaker declares his turn, and Blood Shepherd snaps his fingers as Playmaker draws. He activates the Spell Card "Cyberse Bridge" from his hand, by sending a Cyberse monster from his hand to the Graveyard, he can move a monster from the Extra Monster Zone to his Main Monster Zone. He sends his "Cyberse Wizard" to the Graveyard, then moves "Shootingcode Talker" from the right Extra Monster Zone to the Main Monster Zone below the other Extra Monster Zone. Then he can draw a card, and if it's a monster, he can Special Summon a Cyberse monster with the same Level from his Graveyard, but if he doesn't draw a monster it will be sent to the Graveyard. Blood Shepherd watches as Playmaker draws the Level 4 "Bitrooper", so he Special Summons "Clock Wyvern" from his Graveyard. Then he activates the effect of "Clock Wyvern", halving its ATK to Special Summon a "Clock Token". He chants, "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" and sets "Clock Wyvern" and the "Clock Token" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon the Link-2 "Cyberse Witch". Next he activates the effect of "Bitrooper" from his hand, discarding the Level 1 "Trash Hacker" to Special Summon "Bitrooper". Blood Shepherd warns Playmaker that it's pointless for him to Link Summon again; as long has "Capture Drone" is on the field, Link Monsters can't attack. Playmaker activates the effect of "Cyberse Witch" since a monster was Special Summoned to a zone it points to, and as "Cyberse Witch" glows with a purple aura, he explains that by banishing a Spell from his Graveyard, he can add a Cyberse Ritual Monster and "Cynet Ritual" from his Deck to his hand. He banishes "Cyberse Bridge", and holds up "Cyberse Magician" and "Cynet Ritual", then adds that he can Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from his Graveyard. "Cyberse Witch" holds up her staff, and the orb in the top glows as Playmaker revives "Cyberse Wizard". Then Playmaker activates the Ritual Spell Card "Cynet Ritual" from his hand, and the lines on his suit glow blue. He Tributes monsters from his hand and field whose total Levels equal or exceed the Level of the Cyberse Ritual Monster he's Ritual Summoning. He Tributes the Level 4 "Cyberse Wizard" and "Bitrooper" and chants "The contract has been made. The sage who wields dark power inherits these two souls! Ritual Summon! Descend, Cyberse Magician!" Ai cheekily comments that "Capture Drone" doesn't affect Ritual Monsters, and Blood Shepherd grunts as Playmaker Sets a card.

Ai comments that the general looks incredible, and Blood Shepherd activates the effect of "Battledrone General"; once per turn he can Special Summon a "Drone" monster from his Graveyard to a zone that it points to. He revives "Drone Pawn", and explains that while he controls it, "General" can't attack due to being equipped with "Assemble Drone". Ai wipes his brow, relieved that "General" isn't acting yet, but Playmaker notes that due to the effect of "General", "Drone Pawn" will be able to attack them directly. Blood Shepherd Sets a card, then attacks Playmaker directly with "Drone Pawn", enabled by the effect of "General", which wheels and flies towards Playmaker. Playmaker replies that the effect of "Cyberse Magician" will halve the damage, and "Cyberse Magician" blasts a red beam from his visor, briefly knocking "Drone Pawn" back before it opens fire, reducing Playmaker to 300 LP. Then Blood Shepherd activates the effect of "General", Tributing "Drone Pawn" since it attacked to inflict its ATK as damage to Playmaker. "Drone Pawn" transforms into a green energy ball, and Playmaker declares the "Cyberse Architect" effect of "Cyberse Magician" again, who blasts the red beam from his visor, shrinking the ball to half its size. The energy ball strikes Playmaker, reducing him to 1700 LP, and then Blood Shepherd activates the effect of "Sergeant", since a "Drone" monster inflicted damage via a direct attack, "Sergeant" can also attack directly. "Sergeant" wheels around and fires two missiles at them, and Ai reminds him that due to the effect of "Cyberse Magician", the damage is halved. "Cyberse Magician" blasts the missiles, which strike and reduce Playmaker to 1300 LP. Once again, Blood Shepherd activates the effect of "General", Tributing "Sergeant" to inflict its ATK to Playmaker, and "Sergeant" also transforms into a green energy ball. Likewise, "Cyberse Magician" blasts it with an energy beam, halving its size before it strikes and reduces Playmaker to 900 LP.

Blood Shepherd declares that this is the end. He activates his Skill, "Drone Craft Force"; once per Duel, Playmaker's monster will lose 200 ATK for every "Drone" card in his Graveyard. Ai panics and struggles to count them, and Blood Shepherd finishes that it's five ("", "", "Drone Pawn" and two "Sergeant"). Ai gasps in horror as he realizes that "Cyberse Magician" will lose 1000 ATK, and "Cyberse Magician" falls to 1500 ATK. "General" then gains that lost ATK, rising to 3900 ATK. He reminds them that now that he's Tributed "Drone Pawn", "General" is allowed to attack, and orders it to attack "Cyberse Magician". Playmaker activates the effect of "Cyberse Magician" in response since it is battling a Link Monster, allowing it to gain 1000 ATK, restoring it to 2500 ATK. Blood Shepherd declares that it's not enough and orders "Cyberse Magician" to perish. "Battledrone General" fires four missiles, and Ai declares the "Cyberse Architect" effect of "Cyberse Magician" again. "Cyberse Magician" blasts the missiles with its laser before they strike and destroy it, reducing them to 200 LP. Ai gasps that they barely survived, but Blood Shepherd isn't done, attacking "Cyberse Witch" with "Medicdrone Dock". Ai screams that they'll have zero LP if this attack hits, and Playmaker activates a Trap Card, "Excess Lesser Linker" since a Link-2 or lower monster is battling, making its ATK equal to the ATK of the monster it is battling. "Cyberse Witch" increases to 1000 ATK and she charges forwards to meet "Medicdrone Dock" as they destroy one another. Ai gasps that they destroyed each other, and Blood Shepherd admits that Playmaker is the first to have ever escaped his count during a Duel, and he tells Playmaker that he should feel proud. Then he declares that the effect of "Medicdrone Dock" will activate since it was destroyed, increasing their LP by 1000. He tells Playmaker to regain his LP, and Ai frantically protests that there's no need, it's far too kind, he shouldn't worry about them - and their LP increases to 1200. Ai laments that Blood Shepherd stopped them from using their Skill. Blood Shepherd tells Playmaker to give up and hand over the Ignis, and Ai tells him to stop joking around; he and Playmaker are tied together by a strong trust and bond. The notion of a bond with an A.I. infuriates Blood Shepherd.

Playmaker declares his turn and thinks that this draw will decide everything. He draws, and as he looks at the card, Blood Shepherd comments that he's in a hopeless situation. Playmaker asks if he's sure, much to Blood Shepherd's surprise. He activates the Continuous Spell Card "Dimension Link". He pays half his LP to banish a Link Monster he controls, and his LP falls from 1200 to 600. Blood Shepherd gasps as Ai declares that their Link Monster will be "Shootingcode Talker". "Shootingcode Talker" explodes into blue particles, and Blood Shepherd admits that since "Capture Drone's" target was banished, it will be destroyed. Ai cheers that now their Link Monsters' chains are gone, and they can activate their Skill. But Blood Shepherd activates a Continuous Trap, "Drone Cordon", preventing Playmaker's card effects from targeting his "Drones" and his Link Monsters from attacking. Ai gasps, shocked that they still can't attack, but Playmaker reminds them that he still has his Skill. He accelerates forwards, and Ai calls forth a Data Storm. Ai tells Playmaker to seize the wind, and Playmaker activates his Skill, "Storm Access". He reaches forwards as the Data Storm surges past him and a card begins materializing. He grasps the card in his fingers and emerges from the Data Storm.

Playmaker activates the effect of the Ritual Spell "Cynet Ritual" from his Graveyard since he controls no monsters, banishing it and a Ritual Monster from his Graveyard to Special Summon two "Cynet Tokens". He chants, "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" and states that the Summoning conditions are two Cyberse monsters, and he sets the two "Cynet Tokens" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon the Link-2 "Clock Spartoi". He explains that when it's Link Summoned, he can add "Cynet Fusion" from his Deck to his hand. The he activates the effect of "Dimension Link", sending it to the Graveyard to Special Summon the banished "Shootingcode Talker" to a zone "Clock Spartoi" points to with its effects negated and its ATK increased by 600. "Shootingcode Talker" reappears, increasing to 2900 ATK, and Ai cheers that now it has the same ATK as "Battledrone General". Blood Shepherd reminds them that due to the effect of "Drone Cordon" they can't attack. Playmaker just activates the effect of "Clock Spartoi", allowing him to Special Summon a Level 4 or lower Cyberse monster from his Graveyard with its effects negated to a zone "Clock Spartoi" points to. He revives "Clock Wyvern", and then he holds up "Cynet Fusion", declaring that he'll finish off Blood Shepherd with this. Blood Shepherd recognizes what kind of card it is, and Playmaker activates the Spell Card "Cynet Fusion", sending Fusion Materials from his hand and field to the Graveyard to summon a Fusion Monster as the lines on his suit glow purple. He fuses "Clock Wyvern", "Shootingcode Talker" and "Clock Spartoi". Blood Shepherd gasps "Fusion?!" and Ai cries "You! Go!" (a play on the Japanese pronunciation of "Fusion"). As Playmaker begins to chant, the three monsters dissolve into streams of colored particles. He chants "The strong ones gather before its grand wings! Become a new legend!" The particle streams twist together as he declares "Fusion Summon!" Colored tornadoes twist together into a single purple one as Playmaker chants "Come forth! Cyberse Clock Dragon!"

Blood Shepherd gasps in shock, and Playmaker declares the effect of "Cyberse Clock Dragon"; when it's Fusion Summoned, he sends a card from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard for every Fusion Material Link Monster's Link Arrow. Ai notes that "Shootingcode Talker" was Link-3, and "Clock Spartoi" Link-2, so that's a total of five Link Arrows. Playmaker thus sends five cards from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard (RAM Clouder", "Cyberse Gadget", "Dual Assembwurm", "Bitron" and "Linkslayer"), and for every card sent to the Graveyard, it gains 1000 ATK. Ai states that it's a 5000 ATK increase, as "Cyberse Clock Dragon" powers up to 7500 ATK, and Blood Shepherd repeats the value in shock. Playmaker declares his Battle Phase, and "Cyberse Clock Dragon" attacks "Battledrone General". Ai notes that since "Cyberse Clock Dragon" isn't a Link Monster, "Drone Cordon" can't affect it. "Cyberse Clock Dragon" flies towards "Battledrone General", drawing in purple energy from over its body and into its maw, blasting a purple column of energy that engulfs "Battledrone General". As the light approaches Blood Shepherd, he's horrified to realize that he lost against an A.I.'s ally, and his LP falls to zero.

Episode 57 sections

Bohman declares that he'll go first, and he Special Summons "Hydradrive Booster" from his hand in Attack Position. He explains that he can Special Summon it when neither of them control any monsters in the Main Monster Zones. He chants "Appear! The circuit that connects the truth!" and declares that the Summoning condition is one "Hydradrive" monster, setting "Hydradrive Booster" in the Link Arrow to Link Summon the Link-1 "Burn Hydradrive". He explains that "Burn Hydradrive" can attack Playmaker directly when he controls a FIRE monster, and Ai notes that there it is; this time Bohman has Summoned a fire one. Playmaker agrees, recalling from their last Duel that Bohman's "Hydradrive" monsters can attack them directly when their monsters share Attributes. He asks in surprise if it's the same Deck as before, and Ai states that of course it is. Playmaker explains that he thought Bohman would be using a different Deck since he chose to go first. Ai asks why, and then he realizes; you can't attack if you go first, so it's better to go second and see what they do so that Bohman could match their Attribute. Playmaker notes that Bohman knows this already, and Ai comments that this means that Bohman has a plan. Playmaker wonders what Bohman is planning, and Bohman challenges him to figure out his strategy before Summoning another "Hydradrive Booster". He chants "Appear again! The circuit that connects the truth!" and sets "Hydradrive Booster" in the Link Arrow to Link Summon the Link-1 Coolant Hydradrive". Bohman declares that this field will become a place to judge and expose Playmaker's crimes as he holds up a card, and Playmkaer asks "My crimes?" in confusion.

Bohman then activates the Link Spell Card "Judgment Arrows" from his hand, and Playmaker declares that it's his Link Spell. Bohman explains that when a Link Monster that "Judgment Arrows" points to battles, its ATK will be doubled. Playmaker notes that Bohman played that card after all, and Ai comments that his monsters' ATK are essentially 2000. Bohman declares that the main event is coming, and he chants "Appear! The circuit that connects the truth!" again. This time the Summoning conditions are two "Hydradrive" Link Monsters, so he sets "Burn" and "Coolant Hydradrive" in the Link Arrows, Link Summoning the Link-2 "Twin Hydradrive Knight". Playmaker notes in surprise that it's a Link-2 monster, and Ai cries that he's never seen this one before. Bohman explains that when "Twin Hydradrive Knight" is Link Summoned, its Attribute can become the same as its Link Materials. He chants "Let the two powers reside in your sword!" as a blue energy snake twists down the sword in "Twin Hydradrive Knight's" right hand and a red one down the left-hand sword, causing the bladesto glow those respective colors as "Twin Hydradrive Knight" becomes FIRE and WATER Attribute. Playmaker muses on the nature of a monster with two Attributes, and Bohman Sets two cards, declaring that he will let Playmaker know this; these two Set cards will decide the outcome of this Duel, but Playmaker can't defeat him, because Bohman knows his thoughts like they're his own. Bohman ends his turn and he tells Playmaker to bring it.

VRAINS Episode 58 sections

Playmaker declares his turn and draws. He Summons "Cyberse Gadget" from his hand and activates its effect, Special Summoning "Catche Eve L2" from his Graveyard. He chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" and explains that the Summoning condition is one Normal Monster, so he sets the "Ration Token" in the Link Arrow to Link Summon the Link-1 "Link Spider". He activates the effect of "Link Spider", Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower Normal Monster from his hand to a zone it points to, and he Special Summons "Protron". He Link Summons again; this time the Summoning conditions are two Cyberse monsters, and he sets "Cyberse Gadget" and "Link Spider" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon the Link-2 "Flame Administrator". He begins to activate the effect of "Flame Administrator", but Bohman snaps that he won't let him, reminding him that the effect of "Hydradrive Lord" will negate the effects of FIRE monsters. Playmaker then activates the effect of "Cyberse Gadget" as it was used to Link Summon, Special Summoning a "Gadget Token". He Link Summons for a third time; the Summoning condition is a Level 4 or lower Cyberse, and he sets the "Gadget Token" to Link Summon the Link-1 "Link Disciple". He chants "The circuit that leads to the future!" again, and sets "Catche Eve L2" and "Flame Administrator" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon the Link-2 "Clock Spartoi". Haru is surprised that Playmaker summoned a new Link-2 monster instead of a Link-3, and Bohman asks what he's planning. Playmaker activates the effect of "Clock Spartoi" as it was Link Summoned, adding "Cynet Fusion" from his Deck to his hand. Haru gasps in shock, and Bohman notes that it's a Fusion card, can it be? Then Playmaker activates the effect of "Linkuriboh" from his Graveyard, Tributing a Level 1 monster to Special Summon it. Next he activates the effect of "Clock Spartoi" since a monster was Special Summoned to a zone it pointed to, Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower monster from his Graveyard with its effects negated to a zone that it points to. He revives "Clock Wyvern", and Haru asks in shock when that monster went to the Graveyard. Bohman wonders if it was back then in the second turn when Playmaker sent it to the Graveyard; he's expected this all from the start. Playmaker retorts that a fake like him can't anticipate his plans, and the lines on his suit glow purple as he activates the Spell Card "Cynet Fusion", fusing "Clock Wyvern", "Link Disciple" and "Clock Spartoi". He chants "The strong ones gather before its grand wings! Become a new legend! Fusion Summon! Come forth! Cyberse Clock Dragon!"

Playmaker activates the effect of "Cyberse Clock Dragon"; for every Link Material's Link Arrow, he sends a card from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard to give it 1000 ATK. He sends three card from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard, and Ai announces that "Cyberse Clock Dragon" gains 3000 ATK, bringing it up to 5500. Bohman repeats the ATK value in shock, and Haru gasps that this is bad; Bohmam can't survive this attack. Ai tells Playmaker to destroy Bohman and his "Hydradrive Lord", but Bohman retorts that he won't let Playmaker, activating the effect of the Continuous Trap Card "Hydradrive Cycle", paying 400 LP to Special Summon a FIRE "Hydradrive Token" to Playmaker's field in Defense Position. His LP falls to 250, and the glowing red Token materializes in front of Playmaker. Playmaker gasps and Ai wonders why the Token was summoned to their field (with a visible question mark). Bohman then activates the effect of "Hydradrive Lord"; until the end of the turn, all their monsters become the same Attribute as the targeted monster. He targets the "Hydradrive Token", and Haru comments that he sees; if he uses that Token to change "Clock Dragon" to FIRE Attribute... Ai yelps that due to the effect of "Hydradrive Lord", the effects of FIRE monsters are negated, so the ATK of "Clock Dragon" will return to 2500. Bohman grins in satisfaction, claiming that he told Playmaker that he knows everything about his Dueling. Playmaker asks if he's sure, and he declares the other effect of "Clock Dragon"; while he controls a Link Monster, Bohman can only target "Clock Dragon" for attacks or with card effects. Ai is shocked, asking if Playmaker has a Link Monster, and as he looks around he spots "Linkuriboh" happily jumping on the field, and Ai cries that they do. Playmaker states that "Hyrdradrive Lord" can only select the DARK Attribute "Clock Dragon", and he can't negate that effect. Bohman grits his teeth, and Playmaker declares his Battle Phase, attacking "Trident Hydradrive Lord" with "Cyberse Clock Dragon". Bohman declares that the effect of "Judgment Arrows" will double the ATK of "Hydradrive Lord", to 4600, but Playmaker snaps that it's pointless, and declares the "Pulse Pressure" attack of "Clock Dragon". Purple energy flows across its body into its maw and it releases the energy column, destroying "Trident Hydradrive Lord" and blasting Bohman backwards, reducing his LP to zero.

Ai cheers that Playmaker did it and that he's won. He claims that he knew Playmaker would win from the start. Bohman asks himself if he lost, and he remembers the figure in the light telling him that it was all right that he lost, since he learned of Playmaker's indomitable fighting spirit. The stone statues that they're standing on crumble, and Playmaker leaps off his and onto his Duel Board. Haru declares that his brother will return, and tells him to stay tuned. As the statues fall below the clouds, Soulburner asks if Playmaker is okay. Flame declares that the whole Wind World is destabilizing, and Ai observes that the World is vanishing. Flame states that they'll be in trouble if they stay here, and Soulburner suggests that they use the escape program to log out, before doing so and vanishing. Ai urges Playmaker that they should do so too, but Playmaker is wondering who Bohman is, and who controls him. He thinks that he swears he'll find out who, and he wheels his Duel Board around before logging out.

VRAINS Episode 70 section

Then Varis Normal Summons "Rokket Synchron", and as the monster appears, Playmaker realizes what it is, and Windy is taken aback as well. "Rokket Synchron" glows purple as Varis activates its effect, when it's summoned he can Special Summon a Level 5 or higher DARK Dragon monster from his Graveyard in Defense Position with its effects negated. He revives "Speedburst", and explains that the Special Summoned monster will be destroyed at the end of the turn.

Windy protests that Varis can't be, and Varis snaps that he can be. Green thunder strikes behind him, and then his three monsters dissolve into particles. Varis declares that the Level 1 "Rokket Synchron" is tuning the Level 1 "Anesthrokket Dragon" and the Level 6 "Speedburst Dragon" and each monster reforms into rings of light numbered with their Level (one aquamarine, and two yellow) , which then glow blue and merge into one, which flickers and bursts into particles, then reforms surrounded by green rectangles, and then separates into a eight blue rings in a column. A blue display reading "LEVEL" appears, slotting in from the back of the rings and bearing the Levels of the three monsters on it, which quickly meld into the letter "8" with a red flash. Lightning mutters "Tuning...Synchro... As light flashes down the rings, Varis chants "Heroic dragon! Fire by transforming your ferocious fangs into bullets! Synchro Summon! Come forth, Level 8!" The new Synchro Monster forms out of a blue outline - Borreload Savage Dragon", with 3000 ATK. Playmaker, Soulburner, Ai and Flame all watch in shock, and Soulburner asks, "Synchro?" while Playmaker observes that it's Level 8, and he wonders if that's Varis's new ace monster. Windy growls angrily as Varis activates the effect of "Borreload Savage Dragon".

VRAINS Episode 73 section

Playmaker activates the effect of the Ritual Spell Card "Cynet Ritual" from his Graveyard since he controls no monsters, banishing it and a Ritual Monster from his Graveyard to Special Summon two "Cynet Tokens". Bohman begins to respond, but then lowers his hand, deciding that he should observe their new possibility. Playmaker chants "Appear! The circuit that leads to the future!" and sets the two "Cynet Tokens" in the Link Arrows to Link Summon the Link-2 "Cyberse Wicckid". Then Playmaker Special Summons "Backup Secretary" from his hand since he controls a Cyberse monster, and activates the effect of "Cyberse Wicckid" since he Special Summoned a monster to a zone it points to, allowing him to add "Cyberse Synchron" from his Deck to his hand, which he then Summons. Then he activates the effect of "Cyberse Synchron", allowing him to increase the Level of a Level 4 or lower by its original value. Bohman muses that he sees, deducing what new monster Playmaker instinctively drew, but he'll go no further. He activates the "Judgment Dice" effect of "Rousing Hydradrive Monarch", and Playmaker and Ai are shocked to learn that Bohman can use the effect during their turn. Bohman generates a dice between his hands, and it lands on the DARK Attribute. Ai protests that it can't be DARK again, and Bohmam reminds them that all of their DARK monsters will be sent to the Graveyard and they will take 500 damage for each one. Playmaker controls two DARK monsters, "Cyberse Wicckid" and "Cyberse Synchron", so he'll take 1000 damage and Bohman will win.

Playmaker states that won't happen, and Bohman asks, "What?" Playmaker explains that since it was Link Summoned the effect of "Cyberse Wicckid" prevents Bohman's effects from affecting both "Cyberse Wicckid" and the Cyberse that it points to. "Cyberse Wicckid" generates an energy shield with its staff around both itself and "Cyberse Synchron", and Ai cheers, asking if Bohman sees the power of their bond. Haru scoffs, calling it an annoying effect, and Playmaker continues with the effect of "Cyberse Synchron", whose ports glow blue, increasing the Level of "Backup Secretary" from 3 to 6. Then Playmaker tunes the Level 1 "Cyberse Synchron" with the Level 6 "Backup Secretary" and as the lines on his suit glow light green he chants "Flash of lightning! The unknown power transforms into a soaring dragon! Synchro Summon! Descend! Cyberse Quantum Dragon!" Bohman observes that this is the power created by their instincts, but notes that "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" only has 2500 ATK; can he defeat Bohman's monarch with that?

VRAINS Episode 74 section

Gore declares his turn and draws, then he activates the effect of "Capaptera" since Earth controls more monsters than he does, allowing him to send one monsters Earth controls to the Graveyard. He chooses "Invalid Dolmen", but Earth replies that it's pointless; Gore's monsters can't affect his own while "Ivalid Dolmen" and "Crystal Heart" are co-linked. In that case, Gore Special Summons "Dinowrestler Pankratops" from his hand. Ai is shocked by the Level 7 monster, and Gore explains that he can Special Summon it when Earth controls more monsters than he does. Next he Normal Summons "Dinowrestler Eskrimamenchi", explaining that he can do so without Tribute when he controls a "Dinowrestler" monster. He chants, "Appear! The circuit to victory!" and he sets "Capaptera", "Eskrimamenchi" and "Pankratops" in the Link Arrows to link the Circuit and Link Summon the Link-3 "Dinowrestler King T Wrextle". Playmaker observes that it's The Gore's ace monster.

Gore comments that Earth is quite skilled, so he'll show him his new power. He declares "Expanding thought capabilities! Brain Hack!" and he begins screaming as electricity crackles over his body, much to Playmaker, Ai, and Earth's shock. Gore sees himself in a clustered plantspace, and Playmaker asks what Gore did. Gore's pupils and the edges of his irises glow yellow, and he activates the effect of "Dinowrestler Eskrimamenchi" from his Graveyard since Earth Special Summoned a monster during Gore's turn, adding it to his hand and then Special Summoning a Level 4 or lower "Dinowrestler" monster from his Graveyard. He Special Summons "Capaptera", and then he activates the Quick-Play Spell Card, "Tyrant Dino Fusion", allowing him to Fusion Summon by sending the required Fusion Materials from his field to the Graveyard. He fuses "Dinowrestler King T Wrextle" and "Capaptera", chanting "I feel the power rising. Awaken, T Wrextle! Become the tyrant that devours everything! Appear! Dinowrestler Chimera T Wrextle!" "Chimera T Wrextle" appears with 3500 ATK, and Gore explains that the effect of "Tyrant Dino Fusion" will prevent its destruction by battle or card effects once. "Chimera T Wrextle" roars, buffeting Earth, and Gore declares that he'll show them what he was yearning for; the power that surpasses humanity's domain.

VRAINS Episode 75 section

Gore comments that he sealed away Earth's Skill, but does he still intend to continue this Duel? Earth replies that of course he does; Gore might have sealed away his Skill, but he's lost his ace monster and has few LP left. He'll protect "Crystal Heart" and defeat Gore. Gore comments that Earth's style is like looking at his past self, and he warns him that he'll show him the difference in their powers. He declares his turn and draws, then he Special Summons "Dinowrestler Coelasilat" - a Tuner monster - from his hand since he controls no monsters. Next since he controls a "Dinowrestler" monster, he Normal Summons "Dinowrestler Eskrimamenchi" without Tribute. Orange energy erupts behind him as Gore tunes the Level 2 "Coelasilat" with the Level 6 "Eskrimamenchi". He chants "The muscular ancient king, kick all your enemies! Synchro Summon! Appear, Level 8! Dinowrestler Giga Spinosavate!" Earth frowns and he whispers "Synchro Summon..." Playmaker notes that Gore first used Fusion Summoning, and has now used Synchro Summoning. Blue Girl comments that The Gore has evolved. Ai protests that Earth still has a monster with 4400 ATK.

VRAINS Episode 82 sections

Playmaker declares that he is overlaying the Level 4 "Firewall Guardian" and "Grid Sweeper", and the lines on his suit glow dark blue and lightning crackles from his Duel Disk as a blue X-shaped cybernetic array with four small red circles between the spokes materializes behind him. Soulburner asks what it is, and Blue Maiden asks if it isn't a Link Summon. Playmaker uses his two monsters to build the Overlay Network, and they disperse into colored particles and enter the red circles, causing a red circle to spin behind the portal, and datastream-like energy flows from the tips and forms a light blue galaxy-style portal in front of Playmaker. Playmaker chants "The wall of power that annihilates everything! Manifest as the dragon's fang! Xyz Summon! Appear, Rank 4! Firewall eXceed Dragon!" The new Xyz Monster appears with its twin Overlay Units rotating behind it in circles, with 2500 ATK.

Gore is shocked to see an Xyz Summon, and Playmaker activates the effect of "eXceed Dragon", detaching two Overlay Units to Special Summon a Link-4 Cyberse Link Monster from his Graveyard so that it is linked to "eXceed Dragon". He revives "Firewall Dragon", and adds that "eXceed Dragon" will also gain 500 ATK for each Link Arrow that the monsters linked to it have. Ai states that "Firewall" is Link-4, and "Clock Lizard" is Link-2, and Playmaker finishes that "eXceed Dragon" will gain 3000 ATK, bringing it to 5500. Then Playmaker activates the "Emergency Escape" effect of "Firewall Dragon", and its head begins to crackle with electricity. Ai announces that they'll return "King T Wrextle" to Gore's hand. But Gore activates the effect of "Dino Domain", by returning a "Dinowrestler" to his hand, his monsters will be unaffected by the effects of Playmaker's monsters until the end of the turn. He returns "Valeonyx", who explodes into red particles, but Playmaker then activates the effect of "Grid Sweeper" from his Graveyard, banishing both it and "Clock Lizard" from his field to destroy a card Gore controls. As "eXceed Dragon" drops to 4500 ATK, Gore points out that his monsters aren't affected by the effects of Playmaker's monsters.

But Playmaker reveals that his target is "World Dino Wrestling", and the Field Spell explodes, allowing Playmaker to attack with more than one monster. He declares his Battle Phase, and Gore activates the effect of "King T Wrextle", forcing "Firewall Dragon" to attack first. It only has 2500 ATK in comparison to the 4200 ATK of "King T Wrextle", so if it attacks, Playmaker will lose all his LP, so he can't attack. Ai curses that it's happened again, but Playmaker attacks anyway, much to Gore's shock, and as "Firewall Dragon" turns red, Ai screams in shock. Soulburner asks Playmaker if he wants to self-destruct, but Playmaker activates the effect of "Firewall Guardian" from his Graveyard since he declared an attack, banishing it from the Graveyard to negate "Firewall Dragon's" attack and causing it to fade back to blue. Then, Gore's monster can only be affected by its own effects until the end of this turn and its ATK becomes zero. Gore gasps "zero ATK?!" as his eyes swell into balls resembling Earth, and Ai comments that even God or Ai couldn't have anticipated this. Playmaker attacks "King T Wrextle" with "Firewall eXceed Dragon", who spreads its blue hardlight wings and attacks with "Rising Crypt Limit", blasting "King T Wrextle" away.

Varis chants "Appear! The future circuit that lights up my path!" and declares that the Summoning conditions are at least three Effect Monsters, setting "Gateway Dragon", "Autorokket" and the Link-2 "Booster Dragon" in the Link Arrows, then chanting "My gate that slices open the closed world!" (as he chants, his monster is loaded from a hangar containing his other "Borrel" monsters) "Link Summon! Appear! Link-4 Borreload Dragon!" As his ace monster roars, Varis slams his fist into his palm, telling Lightning to prepare himself; this noble monster will discipline him

VRAINS Episode 97 section

Varis declares his turn and draws, then he activates the effect of his Field Spell "Boot Sector Launch" since his opponent controls more monsters than him, allowing him to Special Summon "Rokket" monsters from his Graveyard in Defense Position equal to the difference. He revives "Magnarokket Dragon" and then Normal Summons "Estrangement Dragon" from his hand. Lightning asks if this is what Varis is doing; Summoning a weakling? He points out that since he has "Judgment Arrows", Varis will have to Summon a monster with at least 5000 ATK to defeat him. Varis retorts that he'll show Lightning the moment where humanity's Dueling surpasses his expectations, and he activates the effect of "Estrangement Dragon" since it was Summoned, allowing him to Special Summon another copy from his Deck to Lightning's side of the field in Attack Position. Lightning is shocked that Varis Summoned it to his field, and Varis explains that "Estrangement Dragon" can't be attacked if its controller controls another monster, and since it was Special Summoned by an effect, it will be sent to the Graveyard at the end of this turn. Ai wonders what Varis is planning to do, but Playmaker notes that Varis has two Level 4 monsters, and he asks if it can be?

Varis overlays the Level 4 "Estrangement Dragon" and "Magnarokket Dragon" to build the Overlay Network, chanting "When two soaring, heroic roars merge into thunder, it opens the eternal door and shows its power! Xyz Summon! Appear, Rank 4 Borreload eXcharge Dragon!" The new "Borreload" appears with 3000 ATK, and Playmaker notes that Varis had a new trump card ready. Ai comments that Varis does the unexpected as usual, calling a Rank 4 with 3000 ATK crazy. Lightning chuckles at the sight of an Xyz Monster, but claims that it's not enough to defeat him. Varis retorts that the fact that the LIGHT Ignis thinks so highly of himself proves that he's shallow. He activates the "Anti Enemy eXcharge" effect of "Borreload eXcharge Dragon", detaching an Overlay Unit to reduce the ATK of a monster by 600. He chooses "Magnus Dux", reducing it to 1900 ATK, and also allowing him to Special Summon a "Borrel" monster from his Graveyard. He revives "Borreload Dragon", and tells the LIGHT Ignis that he's coming. "Borreload eXcharge Dragon" attacks "Magnus Dux", and then Varis activates the "Anti Enemy Rokket" effect of "Borreload Dragon" to further reduce the ATK of "Magnus Dux" by 500, to 1400. Ai cheers that the ATK of "Magnus Dux" decreased again, and Lightning declares the effect of "Judgment Arrows", doubling the ATK of "Magnus Dux" to 2800. Varis states that it's still lower than the ATK of "eXcharge Dragon", and "eXcharge Dragon" attacks with "Borrel Cannon of Thunder", building up blue energy in its wing, body, and maw cannons and blasting it in a surge of light that obliterates "Magnus Dux" and reduces Lightning to 1500 LP. Ai celebrates Varis destroying "Magnus Dux", and Lightning growls in frustration.
