0X[edit]
8300: Effect Monster > Blackwing - Elphin the Raven
- The effect targets one of your opponent's monsters.
8301: Effect Monster > Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow
- The effect does not target.
- Sending "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow" from the hand to the Graveyard is a cost to activate its effect.
8302: Effect Monster > Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame
8303: Effect Monster > Blackwing - Blizzard the Far North
- The text "This card cannot be Special Summoned." is not treated as an effect.
- The effect which Special Summons a "Blackwing" monster from your Graveyard targets one "Blackwing" monster in your Graveyard.
8304: Effect Monster > Evil Thorn
8305: Effect Monster > Hedge Guard
- The effect does not target.
- Sending this card from the hand to the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect.
8306: Effect Monster > Rose Tentacles
- This monster is a Normal Summon Monster.
- The text "This card cannot be Special Summoned." is not treated as an effect.
- The effect which inflicts 300 damage is a Trigger Effect that activates at the end of the Damage Step.
8307: Effect Monster > Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis
- "Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis" is a Normal Summon Monster.
- The text "This card cannot be Special Summoned except by the effect of "Phoenixian Seed" or by its own effect." of "Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis" is not treated as an effect.
- Removing from play one Plant-Type monster is a cost to activate this card's effect which Special Summons itself.
8308: Effect Monster > Phoenixian Seed
- This is an Ignition Effect.
- Sending this card from the field to the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect.
8309: Effect Monster > Dark Verger
- This card's effect is a Trigger Effect that activates when a Plant-Type Tuner Monster is Normal Summoned.
1X[edit]
8310: Effect Monster > Strong Wind Dragon
8311: Effect Monster > Level Warrior
8312: Effect Monster > Rockstone Warrior
- When this card is destroyed by battle and sent to the Graveyard, if there are not two open Monster Card Zones, then the effect which Special Summons two "Rockstone Token"s does not activate.
8313: When "Fake Feather" targets "Metalmorph", will it be equipped?
- If you activate "Fake Feather" and target "Blast with Chain" or "Metalmorph", then the effect will resolve, but "Fake Feather" will not remain on the field.
8314: At what time does the ATK of "Blackwing Armed Wing" increase?
- When "Blackwing Armed Wing" attacks a Defense Position monster, it gains ATK from the beginning of the Damage Step until the end of the Damage Step.
- If "Fake Feather" targets a Normal Trap Card that targets, then "Fake Feather" targets both the Normal Trap Card in your opponent's Graveyard and the card that the Normal Trap Card would normally target.
- Example: "Fake Feather" is activated and targets both "Reinforcements" and "Spirit Reaper". "Spirit Reaper" will destroy itself because it was targeted by "Fake Feather".
- If "D.D. Crow" is chained to the effect of "Against the Wind" so that the targeted "Blackwing" monster is not in the Graveyard when resolving the effect of "Against the Wind", then you do not return the "Blackwing" monster to your hand, and you do not take damage.
8317: Is the effect of "Against the Wind" applied when the effect of "Des Wombat" makes the damage 0?
- While "Des Wombat" is on the field, you can activate "Against the Wind". You will take no damage and you will not return the "Blackwing" monster to your hand.
- The "inflict damage" and "add the monster to your hand" effects of "Against the Wind" are considered to resolve simultaneously. You can activate the effect of "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" when you take damage from "Against the Wind".
- While you control "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu"/"Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu"/etc, you can activate the effect of "Phantom of Chaos"/"Neo-Spacian Dark Panther"/etc and target a "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu". After the effect of "Phantom of Chaos"/etc resolves, it is destroyed.
2X[edit]
- When "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu" destroys a monster by battle while the effect of "Grave Protector" is being applied, "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu" will still inflict damage to your opponent equal to the monster's ATK, even though the monster was shuffled into the Deck.
- If "Enemy Controller" is chained to the activation of the effect of "Black Whirlwind" so that the opponent controls the "Blackwing" monster when resolving the effect of "Black Whirlwind", then the effect of "Black Whirlwind" still resolves and you can still add a "Blackwing" monster from your Deck to your hand.
- If an effect is chained to "Delta Crow - Anti Reverse" so that you no longer control any "Blackwing" monsters when resolving the effect, then the effect of "Delta Crow - Anti Reverse" still resolves properly and destroys all of your opponent's Set cards. The same applies when you control three "Blackwing" monsters and activate "Delta Crow - Anti Reverse" from your hand.
- "Delta Crow - Anti Reverse" and "Reckoned Power" only destroy face-down Spell/Trap cards. If you activate "Delta Crow - Anti Reverse" or "Reckoned Power" and your opponent chains a face-down Spell/Trap Card, then the chained card is face-up when resolving the effect of "Delta Crow - Anti Reverse" etc, so it is not destroyed.
- When "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu" destroys a monster by battle, the damage inflicted is equal to the monster's Original ATK while it is in the Graveyard. If the monster is destroyed by battle and removed from play, the damage inflicted is equal to the monster's Original ATK while it is removed from play.
- When a face-down "Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu" is attacked and destroyed by battle, then it is not destroyed and sent to the Graveyard by its own effect after Damage Calculation. Instead, it is sent to the Graveyard at the end of the Damage Step.
- When a face-down "Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu" is destroyed by battle, its effect which destroys monsters and inflicts damage activates.
- When "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" Special Summons a monster, if "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" is later destroyed, then the Special Summoned monster's effect will remain negated.
- When "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" Special Summons a monster, if the Special Summoned monster is flipped face-down by "Book of Moon"/etc, then the Special Summoned monster's effect is no longer negated.
- If "Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu" is face-down on the field, and is removed from the field while it is face-down, then its effect to destroy monsters and inflict damage does not activate.
- Old translation; possible reversal?
If "Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu" is sent to the Graveyard or destroyed while face-down, then its effect to destroy monsters and inflict damage does not activate.
- Old translation; possible reversal?
- When "Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu" is removed from the field and returned to the Deck, its effect to destroy monsters and inflict damage does not activate.
3X[edit]
- "Delta Crow - Anti Reverse" can only be activated from your hand when you control exactly three "Blackwing" monsters. You cannot activate it from your hand when you control four or more "Blackwing" monsters.
- You can target an opponent's face-down Defense Position monster with the effect of "Blackwing - Elphin the Raven". If the monster has a Flip Effect, then the Flip Effect activates after resolving the effect of "Blackwing - Elphin the Raven".
- When resolving the effect of "Black Whirlwind", you add a "Blackwing" monster to your hand with less ATK than the ATK of the Normal Summoned monster while the Normal Summoned monster is on the field.
- Example: "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" (1800 ATK) is Normal Summoned while "Mystic Plasma Zone" (+500 ATK) is on the field. If you activate the effect of "Black Whirlwind", then you add a monster with less than 2300 ATK from your Deck to your hand.
8333: Can "Delta Crow - Anti Reverse" be activated from the hand during the opponent's turn?
- If you control three "Blackwing" monsters, then you can activate "Delta Crow - Anti Reverse" from your hand during your opponent's turn.
- "Black Whirlwind" can only add to your hand a monster with less ATK than the ATK of the Normal Summoned monster. It cannot add a monster with equal ATK. When you Normal Summon "Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind" and you do not have a monster with less than 1300 ATK in your Deck, then you cannot activate the effect of "Black Whirlwind".
- While you control "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu"/"Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu"/etc and a Field Spell Card, if you activate a new Field Spell Card, then the old Field Spell Card must be destroyed. "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu"/etc is also destroyed at the same time that the old Field Spell Card is destroyed.
- While you control "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu"/"Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu"/etc and a Field Spell Card, if your opponent activates a new Field Spell Card, then there is always an active Field Spell Card, so "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu"/etc is not destroyed.
- When "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" destroys a monster by battle, if "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" is not face-up on the field when the destroyed monster is sent to the Graveyard, then the effect of "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" does not activate. If "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" battles with a monster with the same ATK and both are destroyed by battle, then the effect of "Blackwing - Shura the Blue Flame" does not activate.
- If you control multiple copies of "Black Whirlwind", then you can activate all copies as a chain when a "Blackwing" monster is Normal Summoned.
- Example: If you control two copies of "Black Whirlwind", then you can add two monsters to your hand when you Normal Summon a "Blackwing" monster.
8338: Please explain the effect of "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow".
- Sending "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow" from the hand to the Graveyard is a cost to activate its effect.
- When a "Blackwing" monster you control battles, you can activate the effect of "Blackwing - Kalut the Moon Shadow" from the start of the Damage Step to the start of Damage Calculation. You can activate the effect during Damage Calculation, such as in chain to the effect of "Injection Fairy Lily".
- If an effect like "Trap Hole" is chained to the effect of "Black Whirlwind" so that the Normal Summoned "Blackwing" monster is not face-up on the field when resolving the effect of "Black Whirlwind", then the effect of "Black Whirlwind" is not applied and you do not add a "Blackwing" monster from your Deck to your hand.
4X[edit]
- The effect of "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu"/"Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu"/etc prevents your opponent's monsters from selecting it as an attack target. Thus, when the only monster you control is "Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu"/etc, your opponent can neither attack your monster nor attack directly. However, your opponent can still attack you directly with monsters like "Jinzo #7" which can attack directly.
- The "destroy that monster" and "inflict damage to your opponent" effects of "Exploder Dragonwing" are considered to resolve simultaneously. If "Peten the Dark Clown" is destroyed by this effect, then the effect of "Peten the Dark Clown" can be activated.
- The effect of "Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon" will not activate if a monster is not Level 3 or lower while in the Graveyard, even if the monster is Level 3 or lower monster before being sent to the Graveyard.
- Example: "A Legendary Ocean" turns "Mother Grizzly" into a Level 3 monster. When it is sent to the Graveyard, the effect of "Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon" will not activate and its ATK will not become 3000 because "Mother Grizzly" is Level 4 while in the Graveyard.
- If the ATK/DEF of "Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon" are halved by "Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind" and then the effect of "Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon" activates, then the ATK of "Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon" becomes 3000. During the End Phase, its ATK will return to 2300. However, its DEF will remain at the value set by "Blackwing - Gale the Whirlwind".
- The negating effect of "Double Tool C&D" is still applied throughout the Battle Phase. If the equipped monster attacks "Gladiator Beast Alexander" and "Gladiator Beast Alexander" activates its effect and returns itself to the Deck, then its effect is negated and you do not Special Summon another "Gladiator Beast" monster from your Deck.
- When resolving the "Defense Position:" effect of "Morphtronic Remoten", if "Macro Cosmos" is active, then the "Morphtronic" monster from your hand is removed from play and you do not return a "Morphtronic" monster from your Graveyard to your hand.
8346: Does the player choose whether or not to apply the effect of "Exploder Dragonwing"?
- The effect of "Exploder Dragonwing" which destroys the monster and inflicts damage is optional. The player may choose to not activate the effect. Also, when you activate the effect, you must apply both the "destroy that monster" and "inflict damage to your opponent" parts. You cannot choose to only apply one.
- The effect of "Power Tool Dragon" cannot be activated if the effect of "Thunder King Rai-Oh" is preventing cards from being added from the Deck to the hand. If an effect is chained to the effect of "Power Tool Dragon" so that "Thunder King Rai-Oh" is on the field when resolving the effect of "Power Tool Dragon", then the Equip Spell Card which is randomly selected is instead sent to the Graveyard.
- If "Power Tool Dragon" would be destroyed while "Macro Cosmos" is active, then you can still apply the effect of "Power Tool Dragon". The Equip Spell Card to be sent to the Graveyard will be removed from play instead.
- The "Defense Position:" effect of "Morphtronic Remoten" has no cost. "Send 1 "Morphtronic" monster from your hand to the Graveyard" is done at resolution. The "Morphtronic" monster to be returned to the hand is also chosen at resolution.
5X[edit]
- After the effect of "Trident Dragion" resolves and it gains the ability to attack multiple times, if "Skill Drain" is activated, then the effect has already resolved so "Trident Dragion" can still attack multiple times.
8351: What type of effect is the effect of "Trident Dragion" which allows it to attack multiple times?
- The text "in addition to its normal attack, this card can attack a number of times equal to the number of cards destroyed by this effect." of "Trident Dragion" is part of the effect which activates when "Trident Dragion" is successfully Synchro Summon and destroys a card on your field. This effect is a Trigger Effect.
- If a monster equipped with "Double Tool C&D" attacks a "Beast King Barbaros" with 1900 ATK, then the effect of "Beast King Barbaros" is negated and it will have 3000 ATK. After the Battle Phase ends, "Beast King Barbaros" will remain at 3000 ATK.
- "Double Tool C&D" can only be equipped to a monster you control. If your opponent takes control of the equipped monster, then "Double Tool C&D" is destroyed.
- The damage inflicted by "Exploder Dragonwing" is equal to the destroyed monster's ATK while it is on the field. If the monster's ATK was changed by a Field/Equip Spell Card, then the damage inflicted is based on the changed value.
- When the effect of "Trident Dragion" activates and targets two cards, if an effect is chained so that one of the two cards is not on the field at resolution, then the remaining card on the field is still destroyed. Furthermore, "Trident Dragion" can only attack one additional time.
8356: Konami FAQ: How does the ATK of "Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon" change when its effect activates while it is affected by another card?
- If "Sea Dragon Lord Gishilnodon" has its ATK changed by a Field Spell Card/Equip Spell Card/etc and then its effect activates, then its ATK will be 3000. If its effect activates and then it has its ATK changed by an Equip Spell Card/etc, then its ATK will be increased/decreased from 3000.
- When "Power Tool Dragon" is equipped with an opponent's Equip Spell Card, if "Power Tool Dragon" would be destroyed, then you can send an opponent's Equip Spell Card to the Graveyard instead.
8358: Does the effect of "Double Tool C&D" which destroys an opponent's monster start a Chain?
- The effect of "Double Tool C&D" which, at the end of the Damage Step, destroys an opponent's monster which battled starts a Chain.
8359: Does it start a Chain when the monster Special Summoned by "Morphtronic Scopen" is destroyed?
- For the "Attack Position:" effect of "Morphtronic Scopen", destroying the monster during the End Phase does not start a Chain. If the Special Summoned monster is flipped face-down with "Book of Moon" or removed from play temporarily with "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", then the monster is not destroyed during the End Phase.
6X[edit]
- When a monster equipped with "Double Tool C&D" attacks a monster and that monster is not destroyed by battle, the effect remains and the monster's effects are negated for the remainder of the Battle Phase.
- When a monster equipped with "Double Tool C&D" attacks a monster and a replay occurs, if the equipped monster attacks a different monster, then the originaly attack target's effect remains negated during the Battle Phase.
- When a monster equipped with "Double Tool C&D" attacks a monster and "Gravity Bind" is activated, the attack stops, but the attack target's effect remains negated during the Battle Phase.
- During your opponent's turn, when the monster equipped with "Double Tool C&D" is attacked and destroyed by battle, "Double Tool C&D" is also destroyed and is not on the field at the end of the Damage Step, so the opponent's monster is not destroyed.
8362: Konami FAQ: Can "Morphtronic Repair Unit" Special Summon a "Morphtronic" monster sent to the Graveyard as its cost?
- If you send a "Morphtronic" monster to the Graveyard as a cost to activate "Morphtronic Repair Unit", then you can Special Summon it. However, you cannot activate "Morphtronic Repair Unit" if there are no "Morphtronic" monsters in your Graveyard that you can Special Summon.
- During your opponent's turn, when a "Power Tool Dragon" equipped with "Double Tool C&D" is attacked and destroyed by battle, if you can send "Double Tool C&D" to the Graveyard instead of destroying "Power Tool Dragon", then "Double Tool C&D" is not face-up on the field at the end of the Damage Step so the effect which destroys the opponent's monster does not activate.
8364: Konami FAQ: When the opponent's monster's ATK is higher when resolving the effect of "Exploder Dragonwing", is the opponent's monster destroyed?
- If an effect is chained to the effect of "Exploder Dragonwing" so that the other monster has higher ATK than "Exploder Dragonwing", then the effect of "Exploder Dragonwing" resolves without effect. No monster is destroyed, and no damage is inflicted. Afterwards, you still perform Damage Calculation.
8365: Konami FAQ: When resolving the effect of "Morphtronic Repair Unit", what happens when the targeted monster is not in the Graveyard?
- If an effect like "Disappear" or "D.D. Crow" is chained to the activation of "Morphtronic Repair Unit", then at resolution "Morphtronic Repair Unit" cannot equip itself to a monster, so is destroyed.
8366: Can the effect of "Double Tool C&D" negate an effect if the monster is not face-up on the field?
- The effect of "Double Tool C&D" will only negate effects which activate on the field, or Continuous Effects which are applied for as long as the monster remains on the field. It cannot negate effects which activate in the Graveyard, like the effect of "Sangan". If "Winged Kuriboh LV10"/"Cyber Valley"/etc is attacked, then its effect can be activated, but the effect is negated because it was activated on the field.
8367: Can the effect of "Explode Wing Dragon" destroy a face-down monster?
- The effect of "Exploder Dragonwing" activates at the beginning of the Damage Step, before flipping the monster face-up. When "EExploder Dragonwing" attacks a face-down monster, the monster's ATK is unknown, so the effect to destroy the monster and inflict damage does not activate. When "Exploder Dragonwing" is face-down and attacked by a monster with lower ATK, "Exploder Dragonwing" is face-down when its effect would activate, so the effect to destroy the monster and inflict damage does not activate.
- When resolving the effect of "Power Tool Dragon", you must show the three Equip Spell Cards to your opponent. However, you do not have to show your opponent which of the three is to be added to your hand.
- When "Final Destiny"/"Demise, King of Armageddon"/etc would destroy "Power Tool Dragon" and an Equip Spell Card simultaneously, you cannot apply the effect of "Power Tool Dragon" and send the Equip Spell Card to the Graveyard instead.
- When "Power Tool Dragon" would be destroyed by the effect of "Blast Sphere", you cannot send "Blast Sphere" to the Graveyard instead. However, you can send a different Equip Spell Card to the Graveyard instead of destroying "Power Tool Dragon". "Blast Sphere" will be destroyed, and no damage will be inflicted.
7X[edit]
- If you activate the effect of "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" instead of drawing and your opponent chains "Disappear"/"D.D. Crow"/etc to remove from play "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru", then "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" will not be returned to the hand and you will not draw. This is because you activated the effect of "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" instead of drawing.
8371: Can "Magical Hats" be activated while "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" is on the field?
- While the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" is active, cards without Attributes can still be Special Summoned, like the Spell/Trap Card Special Summoned by "Magical Hats".
- While the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" is active, only LIGHT and DARK Attribute monsters cannot be Special Summoned. The effect of "Giant Rat" can be activated because it Special Summons an EARTH Attribute monster. The effect of "Mystic Tomato" cannot be activated because it Special Summons a DARK Attribute monster.
- The effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Ice" can destroy a monster which has been Special Summoned in face-down Defense Position.
- If "Automatic Laser" is activated when multiple monsters are Special Summoned simultaneously by an effect like "Dimension Fusion", then all Special Summoned monsters with 1000+ ATK are destroyed. Special Summoned monsters with less than 1000 ATK are not destroyed.
8375: Can "Automatic Laser" be activated if "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" is already revealed?
- You cannot activate "Automatic Laser" if the "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" in your hand is already revealed by the effect of "Ceremonial Bell" or "Respect Play".
- If the effect of "Cyber Jar" activates while "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" is on the field, then "Cyber Jar" will first destroy "Koa'ki Meiru Drago". Then, "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" is not on the field, so its effect is not applied, so the monster will be Special Summoned normally. However, if "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" is not destroyed by the effect of "Cyber Jar", then LIGHT/DARK monsters to be Special Summoned by the effect of "Cyber Jar" will be sent to the Graveyard instead.
- The effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" prevents monsters from being Special Summoned if the monster's Attribute is LIGHT or DARK while it is in the hand/Deck/etc. If "DNA Transplant" is active and declaring LIGHT or DARK, then monsters that are neither LIGHT nor DARK can still be Special Summoned.
- While your hand is revealed by the effect of "Respect Play"/"Ceremonial Bell"/etc, you cannot perform "reveal 1 Normal Trap Card from your hand." as a Maintenance Cost for "Koa'ki Meiru Powerhand". You must either perform either "send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" to the Graveyard" or "destroy this card".
- You can activate cards like "Sakuretsu Armor" or "Raigeki Break" and target "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar". However, at resolution, "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar" will not be destroyed.
8X[edit]
- If a monster like "Jinzo #7" attacks directly and "Forbidden Chalice" is activated during the Damage Step, then no replay occurs and you perform Damage Calculation normally.
- If you have zero cards in your Deck, then during your Draw Phase you cannot draw, so you cannot activate the effect of "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru". You cannot draw, so you will lose the Duel.
8382: Can "Automatic Laser" be activated when a monster is Special Summoned face-down?
- You cannot activate "Automatic Laser" when a monster with 1000+ ATK is Special Summoned face-down by an effect like "Spear Cretin".
8383: Do the effects which adds a "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" from the Graveyard to the hand start Chains?
- While "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" is in your Graveyard during the Draw Phase, both the effect of adding it to you hand instead of drawing and the effect of adding it to your hand by sending a "Koa'ki Meiru" monster to the Graveyard both start Chains.
8384: Can the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Doom" negate Continuous Effects?
- The effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Doom" only negates effects which activate and start a Chain. It does not negate Continuous Effects, like that of "Jinzo".
8385: Can "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar" be Tribute Summoned by Tributing one face-down "Koa'ki Meiru" monster?
- You can Tribute Summon "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar" by Tributing one face-down "Koa'ki Meiru" monster.
- While "Macro Cosmos" is activate, you cannot perform "send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" to the Graveyard" as a Maintenance Cost for "Koa'ki Meiru Doom". You must either perform either "reveal 1 Fiend-Type monster from your hand." or "destroy this card".
- While the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" is active, LIGHT and DARK monster cannot be Special Summoned in face-down Defense Position by effects like "The Shallow Grave" or "Spear Cretin".
- While "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" is on the field, "Future Fusion"/"Instant Fusion"/etc can still be activated, and the effect of "Cyber-Stein" can still be activated. However, when resolving the effect, you can choose neither a LIGHT nor a DARK Fusion Monster to Special Summon. If you only have LIGHT and DARK Fusion Monsters in your Extra Deck, then you cannot activate "Future Fusion"/the effect of "Cyber-Stein"/etc.
- If "Future Fusion" is activated and chooses a LIGHT or DARK monster and later the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Drago" is applied, then during your second Standby Phase no monster is Special Summoned and "Future Fusion" remains on the field meaninglessly.
- The effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Doom" will negate all effects of LIGHT and DARK monsters that activate during the Main Phase, even if the effect is not activated on the field. It will negate effects that activate in the hand and Graveyard, and it will negate effects that activate when the monster is removed from play.
9X[edit]
- The effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Powerhand" will only negate effects which activate on the field, or Continuous Effects which are applied for as long as the monster remains on the field. It cannot negate effects which activate in the Graveyard, like the effect of "Sangan".
- If "Koa'ki Meiru Powerhand" battles with "Winged Kuriboh LV10" and "Winged Kuriboh LV10" activates its effect, then the effect will still be negated because it activated on the field, even though "Winged Kuriboh LV10" is no longer face-up on the field.
- If "Koa'ki Meiru Powerhand" is destroyed by battle, then from Damage Calculation - when "Koa'ki Meiru Powerhand" is considered destroyed by battle - onward, it can no longer negate effects.
8391: During the End Phase, how long is the effect of "Forbidden Chalice" applied?
- During the End Phase, the player chooses when to have the effect of "Forbidden Chalice" stop applying.
- Example: When a Spirit Monster is affected by "Forbidden Chalice", you can choose to activate the effect of the Spirit Monster to return to the hand before you stop applying the effect of "Forbidden Chalice". The Spirit Monster's effect will be negated.
- You can activate the effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Guardian" during the Damage Step when the effect of an Effect Monster is activated.
- The effect of "Koa'ki Meiru Guardian" does not target.
- During the Draw Phase, if you have multiple copies of "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" in your Graveyard, then you can activates the effects of all copies instead of drawing. However, only the effect of the copy placed highest on the Chain will resolve and all other copies will resolve without effect, because you already added a card to your hand instead of drawing. In total, you will only add one copy of "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" to your hand.
8394: When "Forbidden Chalice" negates the effect of "Beast King Barbaros", what does its ATK become?
- When a "Beast King Barbaros" with 1900 ATK is affected by "Forbidden Chalice", the effect of "Beast King Barbaros" will be negated and it will have 3400 ATK: the listed 3000 plus 400 because of the effect of "Forbidden Chalice". When you stop applying the effect of "Forbidden Chalice" during the End Phase, the ATK of "Beast King Barbaros" will become 3000.
- While "Light and Darkness Dragon" has 800 ATK and 400 DEF, if "Forbidden Chalice" is activated and targets "Light and Darkness Dragon", then "Light and Darkness Dragon" cannot lower its DEF by 500 so its effect will not negate "Forbidden Chalice". When "Forbidden Chalice" resolves, the effect of "Light and Darkness Dragon" is negated and it returns to 2800 ATK and 2400 DEF, and then the effect of "Forbidden Chalice" adds +400 ATK. When you stop applying the effect of "Forbidden Chalice" during the End Phase, "Light and Darkness Dragon" will have 2800 ATK and 2400 DEF.
8396: Can the effect of "Skill Drain" negate the Maintenance Cost of "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar" etc?
- The text "During each of your Standby Phases [sic], destroy this card unless you send 1 "Iron Core of Koa'ki Meiru" from your hand to the Graveyard." of "Koa'ki Meiru Valafar" is a Maintenance Cost. It cannot be negated by the effect of "Skill Drain", so you must still pay the Maintenance Cost during your Standby Phases [sic].
8397: [Damage Step] Can "Forbidden Chalice" be activated during the Damage Step?
- "Forbidden Chalice" can be activated during the Damage Step, but not during Damage Calculation or later.
8398: Can the effect of "Forbidden Chalice" negate the effect of a monster which is not on the field?
- The effect of "Forbidden Chalice" will only negate effects which activate on the field, or Continuous Effects which are applied for as long as the monster remains on the field. It cannot negate effects which activate in the Graveyard, like the effect of "Sangan".
- If "Forbidden Chalice" affects "Exiled Force"/"Cyber Valley"/etc, then "Exiled Force"/etc can still activate its effect and remove itself from the field. However, the effect was activated on the field, so it will be negated by the effect of "Forbidden Chalice", even though "Exiled Force"/etc is not face-up on the field.
- The ATK-increasing effect of "Strong Wind Dragon" activates even when you Tribute a monster whose Type is changed to "Dragon" by the effect of "DNA Surgery".
