"Building Philosophy" is the thirty-seventh chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Structures manga. It was first published June 21, 2022, in the V Jump magazine.

Summary

Shoma is amazed to realize Motokariya uses different methods to build a Deck than him. This is the beginning of a new friendship!

Duel continues from the previous chapter.

Turn 3: Motokariya
Motokariya activates "Sky Striker Mecha - Hornet Drones", Special Summoning a "Sky Striker Ace Token", and uses it as material to Link Summon "Sky Striker Ace - Hayate". Since she Special Summoned a "Sky Striker Ace" monster, Motokariya Special Summons "Sky Striker Ace - Roze" from her hand via her own effect. At this point, her hand currently contains "Sky Striker Mobilize - Linkage!". Motokariya enters her Battle Phase and attacks Shoma directly with her 3 "Sky Striker Ace" monsters (Shoma's LP: 7100 → 2600). After damage calculation, the effect of "Hayate" activates, allowing Motokariya to send "Sky Striker Airspace - Area Zero" from her Deck to the GY. She Sets 1 card. Motokariya uses "Hayate" as material to Link Summon her 2nd "Sky Striker Ace - Shizuku", whose effect activates during the End Phase, allowing Motokariya to add "Sky Striker Mecha Modules - Multirole" from her Deck to her hand. Since her GY containts 9 Spell Cards, the effect of "Shizuku" will reduce the ATK/DEF of Shoma's monsters by 900.

Turn 4: Shoma
Shoma draws and activates "Therion Charge", sending "Therion Irregular" from his hand to the GY to draw 2 cards. His hand now contains "Therion "Bull" Ain", "Therion "Duke" Yul", "Ukiyoe-P.U.N.K. Sharakusai" and "Therion "King" Regulus". Shoma activates the effect of ""King" Regulus" in his hand, Special Summoning itself in Attack Position (ATK 2800 → 1900) and equipping "Therion Irregular" from his GY to it. Next, he activates the effect of ""Bull" Ain", Special Summoning itself in Attack Position (ATK 2100 → 1200) and equipping "Noh-P.U.N.K. Deer Note" from his GY to it. Finally, he Normal Summons "Sharakusai" (ATK 1200 → 300). Shoma tunes ""Bull" Ain" with "Sharakusai" to Synchro Summon "Baronne de Fleur" in Attack Position (ATK 3000 → 2100). Since "Deer Note" was sent from the field to the GY, its effect activates, allowing Shoma to Special Summon "P.U.N.K. JAM Dragon Drive" from his GY in Attack Position (ATK 2700 → 1800). He activates the effect of "Dragon Drive", paying 600 LP (Shoma's LP: 2600 → 2000) to add "Joruri-P.U.N.K. Madame Spider" from his Deck to his hand. Next, Shoma activates the effect of "Baronne de Fleur", destroying Motokariya's "Shizuku". Thus, the ATKs of his monsters return to their normal values. Since her "Sky Striker Ace" Link Monster was destroyed, Motokariya activates the effect of "Sky Striker Ace - Raye" in her GY, attempting to Special Summon her, but Shoma chains with the effect of "Baronne de Fleur", negating the activation. Shoma activates the effect of ""Duke" Yul" from his hand, Special Summoning itself and equipping ""Bull" Ain" from the GY to itself, while boosting its ATK by 700 (ATK 2100 → 2800). He also activates the inherited effect of ""Bull" Ain", destroying the "Irregular" equipped to ""King" Regulus" and Motokariya's "Sky Striker Ace - Zeke". Shoma enters his Battle Phase. "Baronne de Fleur" attacks and destroys "Roze", while ""King" Regulus" and ""Duke" Yul" attack Motokariya directly (Motokariya's LP: 6400 → 0).
