"Good Luck ⇔ Bad Luck" is the fiftieth chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Structures manga. It was first published July 21, 2023, in the V Jump magazine.
Summary[edit]
The heated Duel between Shoma and Leon comes to a conclusion affected by a strike of (bad) luck!
Featured Duel: Shoma Yusa vs Leon[edit]

Turn 4: Leon
Leon draws "Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker". He activates "Pot of Desires", banishing the top 10 cards of his Deck face-down to draw 2 cards - he draws "Rescue-ACE Turbulence" and "Harpie's Feather Duster". Leon activates "Harpie's Feather Duster" to destroy all of Shoma's Spell and Trap Cards, but before it resolves, Shoma chains with his face-down "Horn of Olifant", banishing the "Rescue-ACE Preventer" treated as an Equip Card on his field to destroy Leon's "Rescue-ACE HQ". Leon's "Duster" resolves, destroying the remainder of Shoma's Spell/Trap Cards and returning their ATKs to their base values. Leon proceeds to Special Summon another copy of "Preventer" from his hand, by banishing "Rescue-ACE Hydrant" from his GY. In response to the Summon of "Preventer", Leon activates the effect of "Fire Attacker" in his hand, to Special Summon itself; however, Shoma chains with the effect of "Infernoble Knight Captain Roland" in his GY, equipping itself to "Immortal Phoenix Gearfried" as an Equip Card that gives it 500 ATK ("Immortal Phoenix Gearfried": ATK 3500). The effect of "Fire Attacker" resolves, Special Summoning itself. Since an Equip Card was equipped to "Gearfried", Shoma activates the effect of "Infernoble Knight Emperor Charles", to which Leon chains with the effect of "Preventer", targeting Shoma's "Gearfried" in an attempt to switch it to face-down Defense Position; Shoma responds by further chaining with the latter's effect. The effect of "Gearfried" allows Shoma to send his equipped "Roland" to the GY ("Immortal Phoenix Gearfried": ATK 3000) in order to negate the effect of "Preventer" and destroy it. The effect of "Charles" resolves, allowing Shoma to destroy Leon's "Fire Attacker" as well. Since "Preventer" was sent to the GY, its 3rd effect activates, allowing Leon to Special Summon his banished "Hydrant" in Defense Position. He subsequently activates its effect, adding "Rescue-ACE Fire Engine" from his Deck to his hand. Next, he activates the effect of "EMERGENCY!" in his GY, banishing itself to Set "CONTAIN!" from his GY on his field. Leon banishes 2 "Rescue-ACE" cards from his GY to Special Summon "Rescue-ACE Turbulence" from his hand, and activates its effect, which would allow him to Set up to 4 "Rescue-ACE" Spell/Trap Cards from his Deck directly to his field. However, upon examining his Deck, Leon learns that there isn't a single available target left in his Deck - all remaining "Rescue-ACE" Spell/Trap Cards he had were banished by the effect of "Pot of Desires". Leon proceeds with his turn, Normal Summoning "Rescue-ACE Impulse", and then Special Summoning "Rescue-ACE Fire Engine" from his hand via its own effect. He uses "Impulse" and "Hydrant" as materials to Link Summon "Hiita the Fire Charmer, Ablaze", and uses its effect to Special Summon "Infernoble Knight Emperor Charles" from Shoma's GY. Leon enters his Battle Phase. "Hiita" attacks and destroys Shoma's face-down "Therion "Bull" Ain". "Fire Engine" attacks and destroys Shoma's "Infernoble Knight Captain Oliver" (Shoma's LP: 5100 → 4600). Next, Leon double KOs his "Charles" into Shoma's "Charles", destroying both monsters. Finally, he does the same with "Turbulence" into "Gearfried", destroying both monsters.
Turn 5: Shoma
Shoma's turn is skipped. He controls "Immortal Phoenix Gearfried" equipped with "Rescue-ACE Monitor" and "Infernoble Knight Oliver", "Therion "Bull" Ain" equipped with "Infernoble Knight - Roland", "Infernoble Knight Emperor Charles" and "Infernoble Knight - Renaud". At this point, he reduces Leon's LP to zero.
