"New Event" is the forty-eighth chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! OCG Structures manga. It was first published May 19, 2023, in the V Jump magazine.
Summary[edit]
A new event begins, and Shoma meets a Duelist named Leon. A heated Duel begins!
Featured Duel: Shoma Yusa vs Leon[edit]
Turn 1: Shoma
Shoma Normal Summons "Infernoble Knight Oliver". Next, he activates the effect of "Courageous Crimson Chevalier Bradamante" from his hand, discarding it to equip ""Infernoble Arms - Durendal"" from his Deck to "Oliver". Shoma activates the effect of "Durendal", allowing him to add a Level 5 or lower FIRE Warrior monster from his Deck to his hand, while "Durendal" destroys itself. Shoma adds "Fire Flint Lady" and subsequently Special Summons it from his hand via its own effect, since he controls a Warrior monster. He proceeds to tune "Fire Flint Lady" and "Oliver" to Synchro Summon "Angelica, Princess of Noble Arms" in Defense Position. Upon its Special Summon, "Angelica" allows Shoma to add "The Noble Arms Museum" from his Deck to his hand, which he activates. The 2nd effect of "The Noble Arms Museum" allows Shoma to pay 1200 LP (Shoma's LP: 8000 → 6800) to add ""Infernoble Arms - Almace"" from his Deck to his hand.
At this point, some steps of Shoma's turn are skipped. Shoma now controls "Angelica, Princess of Noble Arms (OS)|Angelica, Princess of Noble Arms" in Defense Position and "Charlemagne" in Attack Position (ATK: 4500), the latter equipped with "Infernoble Knight Emperor Charles", "Infernoble Knight Ogier" and ""Infernoble Arms - Almace"", as well as the Field Spell Card "The Noble Arms Museum".
Turn 2: Leon
Leon attempts to activate "Rescue-ACE HQ", but Shoma chains with the effect of "Charlemagne", sending the "Emperor Charles" equipped to it to the GY ("Charlemagne": ATK 4500 → 4000) to negate the activation of Leon's Spell Card and destroy it. Next, he Normal Summons "Rescue-ACE Impulse". Shoma responds by activating the Quick Effect of "Infernoble Knight Captain Roland" in his GY to equip itself to "Charlemagne", but Leon chains with the effect of "Rescue-ACE Fire Engine" in his hand, Special Summoning itself. "Roland" then resolves, equipping itself to "Charlemagne", whose effect activates. Leon chains with the effect of "Impulse", Tributing itself to Special Summon "Rescue-ACE Hydrant" from his Deck in Defense Position. The effect of "Charlemagne" resolves, and Shoma destroys "Hydrant". Leon banishes "Hydrant" from his GY to Special Summon "Rescue-ACE Preventer" from his hand via its own effect, and since he did, he also activates the effect of "Rescue-ACE Fire Attacker" to Special Summon itself from his hand. He proceeds to use "Preventer" and "Fire Attacker" as materials to Link Summon "Flametongue the Blazing Magical Blade". Since "Preventer" was sent to the GY, its 3rd effect activates, allowing Leon to Special Summon back his banished "Hydrant" in Defense Position - and he activates its effect, adding "Rescue-ACE Turbulence" from his Deck to his hand. Leon banishes "Preventer" and "Impulse" from his GY to Special Summon "Turbulence" from his hand. He proceeds to activate its effect to Set up to 4 "Rescue-ACE" Quick-Play Spell Cards or Trap Cards directly from his Deck - "EMERGENCY!", "REINFORCE!", "CONTAIN!" and "RESCUE!".
