"Destined Meeting!!" is a special chapter of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL manga which was printed in Weekly Shonen Jump rather than V Jump, where the series is usually printed. It was later reprinted in the volume 1 of Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL.

This chapter is non-canon to the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL manga series, which means the events that happen here do not actually happen in the series.

Summary

A Numbers Hunter, Kite Tenjo, steals a person's soul after defeating him in a Duel. However, he gets frustrated seen he has no "Numbers".

Meanwhile, Yuma Tsukumo sees a demoniac door in a dream, and wakes up. In the next day, he meets Tori Meadows and Bronk Stone at school. Later, Yuma and Bronk Duel, but apparently Bronk defeats Yuma with ease.

At night, Bronk searches Yuma, as he forgot his pendant, which calls Kite's attention, who was nearby.

When Yuma and Tori finds them, Bronk is down in the ground, soulless, and Kite is standing in front of him. In order to retrieve Bronk's soul, Yuma is forced to Duel Kite.

Kite quickly Summons a high-Level monster and makes Yuma defenseless, but when Yuma is able to Summon his "Number", which even was able to destabilize Kite's D-Pad, Kite cancels the Duel and flees, giving Bronk's soul back.

Yuma has nothing on his field, while Bronk controls "Tinplate Archduke" (2200/1200) in Attack Position.

"Tinplate Archduke" attacks directly (Yuma 0).

Yuma Tsukumo vs. Kite Tenjo

Turn 1: Yuma
Yuma Sets "Ganbara Knight".

Turn 2: Kite
Kite activates "Photon Sanctuary", letting him to Special Summon two "Photon Tokens". He then Tributes the tokens to Summon "Photon Wyvern" (2500/2000) in Attack Position, activating its effect which destroys Yuma's Set monster. "Photon Wyvern" attacks directly (Yuma 4000 → 1500).

Turn 3: Yuma
Yuma activates "Monster Reborn", letting him to Special Summon "Ganbara Knight" from his Graveyard. He then Normal Summons another Level 4 monster, and overlays his two monsters to Xyz Summon "Number 39: Utopia" (2500/2000) in Attack Position. But before Yuma can make another move, Kite cancels the Duel and escapes.
