Zane has become too weak to duel, so Syrus decides to use his deck and duel Inotsume. When Syrus first uses it (before the duel), he finds dueling with it causes physical strain on the duelist using it. Jaden meets with Syrus and tells him that he should ask the deck what it wants, and Syrus eventually finds out. He then duels Inotsume. During the duel, Zane notices that Syrus had added his own cards to the deck, and Syrus also notes to himself that he was always trying to keep up with Zane. Eventually, Syrus defeats Inotsume, and Zane decides to let Syrus keep the deck and says he will create his own from scratch. Zane further notes that he will now be the one trying to keep up with Syrus.

Syrus Summons "Cyber Phoenix" (1200 ATK/1600 DEF) in Attack Position and Sets three cards.
Inotsume Summons "Jinzo - Returner" (600/0) and uses its effect to attack directly, but Syrus activates "Power Wall", discarding "Cyberdark Keel", "Cyberdark Edge", "Cyberdark Horn", "Kiteroid", "Steamroid" and "Drillroid" to reduce the damage to 0. Inotsume activates "Psychic Wave", discarding "Jinzo" from his Deck, to inflict 600 damage to Syrus, but Syrus activates Fusion Guard, discarding "Cyber End Dragon" from his Fusion Deck to the Graveyard to reduce the damage he takes to 0. Inotsume then activates "DNA Denial Magic" and chooses Dragon-Type for its effect.
