"The Forked Paths of Destiny! Yuma Throws Away Dueling!" is the forty-fourth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime. It first aired in Japan on February 20, 2012.
Yuma finds himself in conflict about the "Number" cards, knowing that both Kite and Astral have their reasons for obtaining them. However upon learning that his father is still alive, Yuma tries to leave in search for him. Roku appears to help Yuma with his situation.
Featured Duel: Yuma Tsukumo vs. Roku
Duel is shown from an unspecified turn. Yuma has 3800 Life Points and controls "Gogogo Giant" (2000/0), "Gogogo Golem" (1800/1500), "Zubaba Knight" (1600/900) and "Gagaga Magician" (1500/1000), all in Attack Position. Roku has 500 Life Points, one Set monster and one Set card.

Yuma draws and Normal Summons "Gagaga Girl" (1000/800). "Gagaga Girl" attacks the Set monster, but Roku activates his face-down "Mirror Force", destroying all of Yuma's monsters.
Roku's turn
Roku Flip Summons "Queen's Knight" (1500/1600) and Normal Summons "King's Knight" (1600/1400). As he controls a "Queen's Knight", the effect of "King's Knight" activates and he Special Summons "Jack's Knight" (1900/1000) from his Deck in Attack Position. Roku plays "Polymerization", fusing his three monsters to Fusion Summon "Arcana Knight Joker" (3800/2500) in Attack Position. "Arcana Knight Joker" attacks directly (Yuma 3800 → 0).
Error
- When Kite kneels in front of his brother, part of his hair that is usually green is yellow instead.
- The backs of Yuma's cards were shown with the card design used at the beginning of series.
