The Dark Signers are a mysterious group of duelists, whose serve as antagonists to the Signers and primary antagonists for the second arc of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's. Their signature cards are "Dark Synchro Monsters". They have been battling 5,000 years against the Signers repeatdly.
They are the gatekeepers to the door that leads to the underworld, and that door resides within Satellite where the first Enerdy generator was built. When a dark signer performs a Dark Synchro summon, they immediately chant "When dark overlaps with dark the doors of the underworld will open. To a world without light! Dark Synchro!" Then the Dark Synchro monster's name.
