Lancers and Allies' Duel against Z-ARC is a battle in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ARC-V anime, between Z-ARC and the Lancers and their allies. As Z-ARC only focused on two opponents at a time, the Duel will be explained in separate parts.

Prior Events[edit]

After Yuya, who had absorbed the soul of Yuto, defeated Yuri, who had absorbed the soul of Yugo moments beforehand, Z-ARC took control of Yuya and used "Astrograph Sorcerer" to unite his counterparts and their dragons back into one, and started his rampage. Aster and Sora then stood against him first.

The Duel[edit]

Part 1: Aster Phoenix and Sora Perse[edit]

Turn 1: Z-ARC

Z-ARC sets his Pendulum Scale.

Z-ARC activates "Supreme King Gate Zero" (Right Pendulum Scale.png 0) and "Supreme King Gate Infinity" (Left Pendulum Scale.png 13) in his Pendulum Zones. He Pendulum Summons two copies of "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm" (1800/1200), both in Attack Position.

Turn 2: Aster
Aster activates "Polymerization", using "Destiny HERO - Drilldark" and "Destiny HERO - Decider" in his hand as Fusion Materials to Fusion Summon "Destiny HERO - Dystopia" (2800/2400) in Attack Position. As it was Fusion Summoned, the effect of "Dystopia" activates to inflict damage to Z-ARC equal to the ATK of one of its Fusion Materials. Aster targets "Decider", but the Pendulum Effect of "Zero" reduces any damage Z-ARC would take to 0. The Pendulum Effect of "Infinity" increases Z-ARC's LP by the amount he would have taken without the Pendulum Effect of "Zero" (Z-ARC: 4000 → 5600 LP).

Aster using "D-Soul Burst".

"Dystopia" attacks a "Darkwurm", but Z-ARC activates the effect of "Darkwurm", letting him negate an attack once per turn as he controls another "Supreme King" monster. Aster activates "D-Soul Burst", halving the ATK of a "Destiny HERO" monster he controls and inflicting the lost ATK as damage to all players. He targets "Dystopia" ("Dystopia": 2800 → 1400). The Pendulum Effects of "Zero" and "Infinity" reduce the damage Z-ARC takes to 0 and increase his LP by the same amount (Z-ARC: 5600 → 7000 LP, Aster: 4000 → 2600 LP). As its ATK or DEF was changed, Aster activates the effect of "Dystopia", letting him destroy a card on the field. He destroys a "Darkwurm". Aster Sets a card.

Turn 3: Sora

Sora activates "Frightfur Sanctuary" by sending a card from his hand and two "Frightfur" monsters from his Extra Deck to the Graveyard. He sends "Edge Imp Frightfuloid" in his hand and "Frightfur Bear" and "Frightfur Tiger" in his Extra Deck to the Graveyard. "Sanctuary" treats all Fusion Monsters Sora controls as "Frightfur" monsters. He then activates "Frightfur Fusion" to Fusion Summon a "Frightfur" monster by banishing its Fusion Materials from his field or Graveyard. He banishes "Frightfuloid" (which treats itself as a "Frightfur" monster), "Bear", and "Tiger" from his Graveyard to Fusion Summon "Frightfur Chimera" (2800/2000) in Attack Position. "Chimera" attacks and destroys "Darkwurm". The Pendulum Effects of "Zero" and "Infinity" reduce the damage to 0 and increase Z-ARC's LP by the same amount (Z-ARC: 7000 → 8000 LP). Sora Sets a card.

Turn 4: Z-ARC

Aster using "D-Hyper Nova".

Z-ARC Pendulum Summons the two copies of "Darkwurm" (1800/1200) from his Extra Deck in Attack Position. As a monster was Special Summoned while Aster controls a "Destiny HERO" monster, Aster activates his Set "D-Hyper Nova", destroying all monsters that were Special Summoned this turn. As a card or effect that would destroy an opponent's monster was activated while he controls a face-up "Frightfur" monster, Sora activates his Set "Frightfur Parade", destroying all cards Z-ARC controls and inflicting 500 damage to him for each monster destroyed (Z-ARC: 8000 → 6000 LP).

"Astrograph Sorcerer", forerunner of the "Supreme King".

As his cards were destroyed, Z-ARC activates the effect of "Astrograph Sorcerer" in his hand by targeting all those destroyed cards, Special Summoning it (2500/2000) in Attack Position, then placing all cards targeted back in their previous positions. Z-ARC activates the third effect of "Astrograph Sorcerer" by tributing it to banish "Dark Rebellion Xyz Dragon", "Clear Wing Synchro Dragon", "Starving Venom Fusion Dragon", and "Odd-Eyes Pendulum Dragon" from his Deck, Extra Deck, field, and Graveyard to Unity Summon "Supreme King Z-ARC" from his Extra Deck (4000/4000) in Attack Position.

At this point, Shay Obsidian and Kite Tenjo join the Duel, taking the intrusion penalty (Shay & Kite: 4000 → 2000 LP). With Shay joining the Duel, the Field Spell Card "Crossover" is activated, as per the rules of an Action Duel. It will allow the players to use Action Cards, but they may only have one in their hand at a time.

As long as Z-ARC controls any monsters, the Pendulum Effect of "Supreme King Gate Zero" will prevent him from Pendulum Summoning. "Supreme King Z-ARC" is always treated as Fusion, Synchro, Xyz, and Pendulum Monster all at the same time.

As "Z-ARC" was Summoned, its effect activates. Z-ARC destroys all monsters his opponent controls and inflicts damage to all players who controlled any of those destroyed monsters, equal to the total ATK of all monsters destroyed. However, "Z-ARC" cannot attack the turn this effect was activated. "Dystopia" and "Chimera" are destroyed, and their ATK sum is 4200 (Aster: 2600 → 0 LP, Sora: 4000 → 0 LP).

Aster defeated
Sora defeated

Part 2: Shay Obsidian and Kite Tenjo[edit]

At this point, Z-ARC has 6000 LP, controls "Supreme King Z-ARC" (4000/4000) and two copies of "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm" (1800/1200). He also has "Supreme King Gate Zero" (Right Pendulum Scale.png 0) and "Supreme King Gate Infinity" (Left Pendulum Scale.png 13) in his Pendulum Zones, and 1 card in his hand. Shay Obsidian and Kite Tenjo both have 5 cards in their hand and 2000 LP. "Crossover" is active on the field.

Turn 5: Shay

"Supreme King Dragon Dark Rebellion" appears out of the blue in response to Xyz Summon.

Shay Normal Summons "Raidraptor - King Lanius" (1300/???). He activates its effect, which lets him Special Summon a Level 4 or lower "Raidraptor" monster from his hand once per turn. Shay Special Summons "Raidraptor - Vanishing Lanius" (1300/1600). As he controls "Vanishing Lanius", Shay Special Summons "Raidraptor - Fuzzy Lanius" (500/1500) from his hand in Attack Position via its own effect. Shay overlays his three Level 4 Winged Beast-Type monsters to Xyz Summon "Raidraptor - Rise Falcon" (100/2000) in Attack Position. As his opponent Xyz Summoned while he controlled "Supreme King Z-ARC", Z-ARC activates the effect of "Supreme King Dragon Dark Rebellion" in his Extra Deck, overlaying his two copies of "Darkwurm" to Xyz Summon it (2500/2000) in Attack Position.

Shay activates the effect of "Rise Falcon", detaching an Overlay Unit to increase its ATK by the combined ATK of all Special Summoned monsters his opponent controls ("Rise Falcon": 100 → 6600). "Rise Falcon" tries to attack "Z-ARC", but the effect of "Dark Rebellion" prevents the opponent from attacking other Xyz Monsters Z-ARC controls, and "Z-ARC" is also an Xyz Monster. "Rise Falcon" attacks "Dark Rebellion" instead, but Z-ARC activates the effect of "Dark Rebellion", detaching an Overlay Unit to reduce the ATK of the monster it battles to 0 and add the lost ATK to "Dark Rebellion" ("Rise Falcon": 6600 → 0, "Dark Rebellion": 2500 → 9100). As "Rise Falcon" would be destroyed by battle, Shay activates "Overlay Burst Armor" from his hand, detaching all Overlay Units from "Rise Falcon" to prevent it from being destroyed by that battle and reducing the battle damage to 0. Shay Sets two cards.

Turn 6: Kite

Kite preparing to take on "Dark Rebellion".

Kite Normal Summons "Cipher Wing" (1400/1200). As he controls a "Cipher Wing", Kite activates the effect of the other "Cipher Wing" in his hand, Special Summoning (1400/1200) in Attack Position. Kite activates the Continuous Spell Card "Double Exposure". He uses its effect, letting him double the Levels of two Level 6 or lower monsters with the same name he controls. He targets both "Cipher Wings" (Levels: 4 → 8). Kite overlays his two Level 8 monsters to Xyz Summon "Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" (3000/2500) in Attack Position.

Z-ARC declares that his monsters are unaffected by the effects of Fusion, Synchro, and Xyz Monsters.

Kite activates the effect of "Cipher Dragon", detaching an Overlay Unit to take control of a monster his opponent controls until the End Phase, but it will have its effects negated and cannot attack directly, also its name and ATK will become the same as that of "Cipher Dragon". He tries to take control of "Dark Rebellion", but the effect of "Z-ARC" makes Z-ARC's monsters unaffected by the effects of Fusion, Synchro, or Xyz Monsters his opponents control. Kite Sets three cards.

Turn 7: Z-ARC

"Dark Rebellion" attacks "Cipher Dragon". Z-ARC activates its effect, detaching an Overlay Unit to reduce the ATK of the monster it battles to 0 and adding the lost ATK to "Dark Rebellion". ("Cipher Dragon": 3000 → 0, "Dark Rebellion" 2500 → 5500). As an opponent's monster attacked, Shay activates his face-down "Rank-Up-Magic Devotion Force", allowing him to Rank-Up an Xyz Monster he controls and Xyz Summon another Xyz Monster 1 Rank higher by using the first monster as the Overlay Unit. Shay performs a Rank-Up Xyz Evolution, Ranking Up "Rise Falcon" to Xyz Summon "Raidraptor - Blaze Falcon" (1000/2000) in Attack Position.

As his opponent Special Summoned a monster with the effect of "Rank-Up-Magic" card, Kite activates "Rank-Up-Magic Limit Over Force" by paying half of his LP (Kite: 2000 → 1000), and using "Cipher Dragon" as an Overlay Unit for the Xyz Summon of an Xyz Monster 1 Rank higher than it. Kite Ranks Up "Cipher Dragon" into "Neo Galaxy-Eyes Cipher Dragon" (4500/3000) in Attack Position. "Limit Over Force" then multiplies the ATK of the Summoned monster by the number of "Rank-Up-Magic" cards activated this Duel up to then, which is 2 (4500 → 9000). As his opponent Special Summoned a monster with the effect of "Rank-Up-Magic" card, Shay activates his own "Rank-Up-Magic Limit Over Force" by paying half of his LP (Shay: 2000 → 1000) to Rank Up "Blaze Falcon" into "Raidraptor - Revolution Falcon" in Attack Position and multiply its ATK by 3 (2000 → 6000).

Kite using "Rank-Up Gravity" against Z-ARC.

Kite activates his Set "Rank-Up Gravity", which forces Z-ARC to only attack monsters Special Summoned by "Rank-Up-Magic" cards. At the end of the Battle Phase, Kite can banish all of Z-ARC's monsters that did not attack. Z-ARC activates the effect of "Dark Rebellion", returning it to his Extra Deck to Special Summon two "Supreme King Dragon" monsters from his Graveyard and make the ATK of all Xyz Monsters his opponents controls become 0. Z-ARC Special Summons the two copies of "Darkwurm" ("Neo Cipher Dragon": 9000 → 0, "Revolution Falcon": 6000 → 0).

Z-ARC destroying the Action Cards.

Both copies of "Darkwurm" attack "Neo Cipher Dragon" and "Revolution Falcon", but Shay and Kite find and try to activate the Action Cards "Miracle" and "Evasion", respectively, the former to prevent Shay's monster from being destroyed by that battle and halving the battle damage, and the latter to negate the attack toward Kite's monster altogether. As card(s) were added to his opponent's hands outside of the Draw Phase, Z-ARC activates the effect of "Z-ARC" to destroy those cards.

At this point, Gong Strong and Jack Atlas join the Duel, taking the intrusion penalty (Gong & Jack: 4000 → 2000 LP).

The attacks of both copies of "Darkwurm" continue and destroy "Neo Cipher Dragon" and "Revolution Falcon" (Shay: 1000 → 0 LP, Kite: 1000 → 0 LP).

Shay and Kite defeated.

Part 3: Gong Strong and Jack Atlas[edit]

Jack Atlas and Gong Strong, against Z-ARC and the "Supreme King".

At this point, Z-ARC has 6000 LP and controls "Supreme King Z-ARC" (4000/4000) and two copies of "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm" (1800/1200). He also has "Supreme King Gate Zero" (Right Pendulum Scale.png 0) and "Supreme King Gate Infinity" (Left Pendulum Scale.png 13) in his Pendulum Zones, and 2 cards in his hand. Gong Strong and Jack Atlas both have 5 cards in their hand and 2000 LP. "Crossover" is active on the field.

Turn 8: Jack

Jack draws "Dark Resonator". As he controls no monsters, he Special Summons "Red Gargoyle" (1200/???) from his hand via its own effect. He then Normal Summons "Red Resonator" (600/200). Jack activates the effect of "Gargoyle", allowing him to double the Level of a monster he controls. He doubles the Level of "Resonator" (Level: 2 → 4). Jack tunes the Level 4 "Gargoyle" with the Level 4 Tuner "Red Resonator" to Synchro Summon "Scarlight Red Dragon Archfiend" (3000/2000) in Attack Position. As his opponent Synchro Summoned while he controlled "Z-ARC", Z-ARC activates the effect of "Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing" in his Extra Deck, Tributing two "Supreme King Dragon" monsters he controls ("Darkwurm") to Synchro Summon it (2500/2000) in Attack Position.

As "Clear Wing" was Synchro Summoned, Z-ARC activates its effect to negate the effects of all monsters his opponent controls and then destroy them. Jack activates the effect of "Brutal Red" in his hand, sending it to the Graveyard as a "Red" monster would be destroyed. This turn, that "Red" monster cannot be destroyed and will gain 1000 ATK. Jack targets "Scarlight" (3000 → 4000). "Scarlight" attacks "Clear Wing". As "Clear Wing" is battling, Z-ARC activates its effect to negate the attack, destroy the opponent's batting monster, and inflict damage to Jack equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster. "Scarlight" is not destroyed due to the effect of "Brutal Red". Jack Sets a card.

Turn 9: Gong

Gong Normal Summons "Superheavy Samurai Battleball" (100/800). He Special Summons "Superheavy Samurai Hexagon" (600/???) from its hand by its effect. Gong tunes the Level 6 "Hexagon" with the Level 2 Tuner "Battleball" to Synchro Summon "Superheavy Samurai Swordsmith" (0/2400) in Defense Position. As "Swordsmith" was Special Summoned, Gong activates its effect to Special Summon as many "Superheavy Samurai" monster from his hand as possible. He Special Summons "Blue Brawler" (0/2000), "Swordsman" (1000/1800), and "Big Benkei" (1000/3500), all in Defense Position.

Turn 10: Z-ARC

"Clear Wing" empowered by "Supreme Presence" prepares to bring destruction.

Z-ARC equips "Clear Wing" with "Supreme Presence". Any effect of the monster equipped with "Supreme Presence" that targets only one of his opponent's monsters is changed to affect all monsters the opponent controls instead. "Clear Wing" attacks "Benkei", with Z-ARC activating the former's effect to destroy "Benkei" and inflict its ATK as damage, with "Supreme Presence" changing it to affect all opposing monsters.

"Superheavy Samurai Warchief Heavystrong" appears to save the day.

As an effect would destroy cards on the field during the Battle Phase, Gong activates the effect of "Superheavy Samurai Warchief Heavystrong" in his hand by targeting "Scarlight", and Tributing a "Superheavy Samurai" monster he controls, to Special Summon it from his hand. Gong Tributes "Swordsman" to Special Summon "Warchief Heavystrong" (1000/3000) in Defense Position. The targeted monster and "Warchief Heavystrong" cannot be destroyed this turn, and the Battle Phase is ended. The effect of "Clear Wing" still continues and "Benkei", "Blue Brawler", and "Swordsmith" are destroyed. The sum of their ATK is 1000 (Gong & Jack: 2000 → 1000 LP).

Turn 11: Jack

Jack activates the Trap Card "Vision Synchro", allowing him to Synchro Summon a monster using monsters from his hand, but the Summoned monster will return to the Extra Deck during the End Phase. Jack double tunes the Level 4 "Red Sprinter" with the Level 3 Tuners "Dark Resonator" and "Net Resonator" from his hand to Synchro Summon "Tyrant Red Dragon Archfiend" in Attack Position (3500/3000). As "Net Resonator" was used for a Synchro Summon, its effect prevents Jack from taking effect damage while he controls the Summoned monster. Gong activates the effect of "Warchief Heavystrong" to prevent "Scarlight" and "Tyrant" from being destroyed this turn. "Scarlight" attacks "Clear Wing", but Z-ARC activates the effect of "Clear Wing" to negate the attack, destroy "Scarlight", and inflict its ATK as damage. "Scarlight" is not destroyed, due to the effect of "Warchief Heavystrong". The effect of "Supreme Presence" makes the effect of "Clear Wing" affect all opposing monsters instead. "Warchief Heavystrong" is destroyed (Gong: 1000 → 0 LP).

Gong defeated.

"Tyrant" attacks "Clear Wing" and destroys it. The Pendulum Effect of "Supreme King Gate Zero" prevents Z-ARC from taking damage, while the Pendulum Effect of "Supreme King Gate Infinity" increases his LP by the damage he would have taken (Z-ARC: 6000 → 7000 LP). Due to the effect of "Vision Synchro", "Tyrant" returns to Jack's Extra Deck during his End Phase.

Turn 12: Z-ARC
At this point, Sylvio Sawatari and Crow Hogan join the Duel, taking the intrusion penalty (Sylvio & Crow: 4000 → 2000 LP).

"Z-ARC" attacks and destroys "Scarlight" (Jack: 1000 → 0 LP). As "Supreme King Z-ARC" destroyed an opponent's monster by battle, Z-ARC Special Summons two "Supreme King Dragon" monsters in his Extra Deck in Defense Position. Z-ARC Special Summons two copies of "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm" (1800/1200). Z-ARC Sets three cards.

Jack defeated.

Part 4: Sylvio Sawatari and Crow Hogan[edit]

Crow Hogan and Sylvio Sawatari up against Z-ARC and the "Supreme King".

At this point, Z-ARC has 7000 LP and controls "Supreme King Z-ARC" (4000/4000) and two copies of "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm" (1800/1200). He also has "Supreme King Gate Zero" (Right Pendulum Scale.png 0) and "Supreme King Gate Infinity" (Left Pendulum Scale.png 13) in his Pendulum Zones, no cards in his hand, and 3 Set cards in his Spell & Trap Zone. Sylvio Sawatari and Crow Hogan both have 5 cards in their hand and 2000 LP. "Crossover" is active on the field.

Turn 13: Crow

Crow prepares to take on the "Supreme King".

Crow Normal Summons "Blackwing - Kochi the Daybreak" (700/1500). As the only monster he controls is a "Blackwing" monster, Crow Special Summons "Blackwing - Gladius the Midnight Sun" (800/1500) from his hand via its own effect. Crow tunes his Level 3 "Gladius" with his Level 4 "Kochi" to Synchro Summon "Assault Blackwing - Raikiri the Rain Shower" (2600/2000) in Attack Position. As his opponent Synchro Summoned while he controlled "Supreme King Z-ARC", Z-ARC activates the effect of "Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing" in his Graveyard by Tributing two "Supreme King Dragon" monsters he controls to Synchro Summon it again in Attack Position (2500/2000). As "Clear Wing" was Synchro Summoned, Z-ARC activates its effect, negating the effects of all monsters his opponent controls and destroying them. "Raikiri" is destroyed, but Crow activates "Black Feather Illusion" from his hand as a "Blackwing" Synchro Monster was destroyed. He Special Summons "Raikiri" from the Graveyard with its effects negated.

"Raikiri" attacks "Clear Wing". As "Clear Wing" is battling, Z-ARC activates its effect to negate the attack, destroy the opponent's batting monster, and inflict damage to Crow equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster. "Raikiri" is destroyed, but Crow activates "Black Feather Reversal" as he would take damage during a battle involving "Blackwing" monster. The battle damage is reduced to 0 and Crow can Special Summon a "Blackwing" monster from his Extra Deck with ATK equal to the damage he would have taken, which is 2600. Crow Special Summons "Assault Blackwing - Chidori the Rain Sprinkling" (2600/2000) in Attack Position. "Chidori" gains 300 ATK for each "Blackwing" monster in his Graveyard ("Chidori" 2600 → 3500). "Chidori" attacks and destroys "Clear Wing". Crow activates the effect of "Black Feather Illusion" in his Graveyard, banishing it to negate a Spell effect during a battle involving "Blackwing" monster. The effect of "Supreme King Gate Zero" is negated (Z-ARC: 7000 → 6000).

Crow and "Raikiri" against the "Supreme King".

Z-ARC activates his Set "Supreme Faceoff", forcing "Chidori" to attack once again. "Chidori" attacks "Z-ARC" and is destroyed (Crow: 2000 → 1500 LP). As "Z-ARC" destroyed an opponent's monster by battle, Z-ARC Special Summons two copies "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm" from his Extra Deck (1800/1200). As "Chidori" was destroyed, Crow can Special Summon a Winged Beast-Type Synchro Monster from his Graveyard. Crow Special Summons "Raikiri" (2600/2000) in Attack Position. Crow activates the effect of "Raikiri" to target and destroy cards on the field equal to the number of "Blackwing" monsters he controls. He targets "Supreme Faceoff", but Z-ARC activates its effect to prevent it from being destroyed by a card effect once per turn.

Turn 14: Sylvio

Sylvio activates "Abyss Actor - Evil Heel" (Right Pendulum Scale.png 1) and "Abyss Actor - Funky Comedian" (Left Pendulum Scale.png 8) in his Pendulum Zones. He then Pendulum Summons "Abyss Actor - Superstar" (2500/1800), "Abyss Actor - Wild Hope" (1600/1200), and "Abyss Actor - Leading Lady" (1500/1000), all in Attack Position. As his opponent Pendulum Summoned Pendulum Monsters while he had "Supreme King Dragon Odd-Eyes" is his hand, deck, or Extra Deck and he controlled "Supreme King Z-ARC", Z-ARC activates its effect by Tributing two "Supreme King Dragon" monsters to Special Summon it. He Tributes the two "Darkwurms" and Special Summon it (2500/2000) in Attack Position from the Deck. Sylvio activates the effect of "Superstar", which once per turn adds an "Abyss Script" Spell Card from his Deck to his hand. He adds "Abyss Script - Rise of the Abyss King". As a card was added to his opponent's hand outside of the Draw Phase, Z-ARC activates the effect of "Z-ARC" to destroy that card.

Sylvio managed to exploit the effect of "Supreme King Z-ARC".

Sylvio activates the Continuous Spell Card "Abyss Script - Abysstainment" and then its effect, Tributing an "Abyss Actor" monster to Set an "Abyss Script" card from his Graveyard to his field. Sylvio tributes "Leading Lady" to Set "Rise of the Abyss King". Sylvio then activates "Rise of the Abyss King" to target and destroy cards on the field up to the number of "Abyss Actor" monsters he controls, with Z-ARC being unable to activate cards and effects in response as Sylvio controls a Level 7 or higher "Abyss Actor" monster. Sylvio targets "Z-ARC" and "Odd-Eyes", but the effect of "Odd-Eyes" prevents Pendulum Monster Card(s) on the field from being destroyed once each turn. Sylvio activates the effect of "Abyss Entertainment" again by Tributing "Wild Hope", to Set "Rise of the Abyss King" again, and subsequently activates it, targeting "Z-ARC". As there are Fusion, Synchro, and/or Xyz Monsters in the Graveyards and/or banished, "Z-ARC" cannot be destroyed, and is unaffected by any effect that would make it leave the field, so the effect still fails.

The forced destruction of "Supreme Faceoff".

At this point, Leo Akaba joins the Duel, taking the intrusion penalty (Leo: 4000 → 2000 LP).

"Supreme King Dragon Odd-Eyes" with its effect.

Z-ARC activates the last effect of "Supreme Faceoff", sending it to the Graveyard to force "Raikiri" and "Superstar" to attack "Z-ARC".[Notes 1] "Z-ARC" destroys both monsters, while the effect of "Odd-Eyes" doubles all battle damage Z-ARC's opponents take from battles involving a Pendulum Monster he controls (For dramatic effect, Crow and Sylvio take the normal amount of battle damage. Then, after some dialogue, Z-ARC reveals "Odd-Eyes"' effect, and it inflicts the doubled damage.) (Crow: 1500 → 100 → 0 LP, Sylvio: 2000 → 500 → 0 LP).

Crow and Sylvio defeated.

Part 5: Leo Akaba[edit]

Leo Akaba, against Z-ARC and the "Supreme King".

At this point, Z-ARC has 6000 LP and controls "Supreme King Z-ARC" (4000/4000) and "Supreme King Dragon Odd-Eyes" (2500/2000). He also has "Supreme King Gate Zero" (Right Pendulum Scale.png 0) and "Supreme King Gate Infinity" (Left Pendulum Scale.png 13) in his Pendulum Zones, no cards in his hand, and 2 Set cards in his Spell & Trap Zone. Leo Akaba has 5 cards in his hand and 2000 LP. "Crossover" is active on the field.

Turn 15: Leo
Leo activates "Spirit Collapse", paying 1000 LP (Leo: 2000 → 1000 LP) to send a Fusion Monster from his Extra Deck to the Graveyard. He sends "Master Spirit Tech Force - Pendulum Ruler".

At this point Declan Akaba joins the Duel, taking the intrusion penalty (Declan: 4000 → 2000 LP).

Z-ARC activates his Set "Supreme Disdain" to look at Leo's hand and send a number of cards in it to the Graveyard, equal to the number of "Supreme King" cards he controls (4) and inflict 300 damage to Leo for each card sent. Z-ARC chooses to send "En Birds", "En Flowers", "En Moon", and "En Winds" to the Graveyard (Leo: 1000 → 0 LP).

Leo defeated.

Part 6: Declan Akaba[edit]

At this point, Z-ARC has 6000 LP and controls "Supreme King Z-ARC" (4000/4000) and two copies of "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm" (1800/1200). He also has "Supreme King Gate Zero" (Right Pendulum Scale.png 0) and "Supreme King Gate Infinity" (Left Pendulum Scale.png 13) in his Pendulum Zones, no cards in his hand, and 1 Set card in his Spell & Trap Zone. Declan Akaba has 5 cards in his hand and 2000 LP. "Crossover" is active on the field.

Turn 16: Declan

"D/D Savant Dirac" and "D/D Savant Schrödinger", preparing the chain of Summons.

Declan draws "D/D Savant Schrödinger" and subsequently activates it (Right Pendulum Scale.png 2) and "D/D Savant Dirac" (Left Pendulum Scale.png 8) in his Pendulum Zones. He Pendulum Summons "D/D Nighthowl" (600/300), "D/D Vice Typhon" (2300/2800), and two copies of "D/D Savant Nikola" (2000/2000), all in Attack Position. Declan overlays his two Level 6 "Nikola" to Xyz Summon "D/D/D Wave High King Caesar" (2800/1800) in Attack Position. He then tunes his Level 7 "Vice Typhon" with his Level 3 Tuner "Nighthowl" to Synchro Summon "D/D/D Gust High King Alexander" (3000/2500) in Attack Position. Declan activates the effect of "Vice Typhon" as it was sent to the Graveyard this turn, Fusion Summoning a "D/D/D" Fusion Monster by banishing itself and other materials from his Graveyard. He banishes "Typhon" and "Nighthowl" to Fusion Summon "D/D/D Flame High King Genghis" (2800/2400) in Attack Position. As there are two or more other "D/D" monsters on the field, the effect of "Alexander" doubles its own ATK ("Alexander": 3000 → 6000).

Declan activates the effect of "Genghis", allowing him to target Spell/Trap Cards Z-ARC controls up to the number of other "D/D" monsters he controls, and negate their effects until the next Standby Phase. Declan negates the effects of "Supreme King Gate Zero" and "Supreme King Gate Infinity". Z-ARC activates the effect of "Supreme King Dragon Odd-Eyes" by adding itself to his Extra Deck face-up, and Special Summoning two other "Supreme King Dragon" Pendulum Monsters from his Extra Deck. As an effect that would Summon a monster(s) was activated, Declan activates the effect of "Caesar", detaching an Overlay Unit to negate that effect and add the ATK of one of those monsters that would have been Summoned to its own ATK until the End Phase. Declan chooses a copy "Darkwurm" ("Caesar": 2800 → 4600 / ORU 2 → 1). He then activates the effect of "Caesar" as its ATK increased by its own effect, detaching another Overlay Unit to give the same increase of ATK to another "D/D" monster the controls, until the End Phase. He targets "Genghis" ("Genghis": 2800 → 4600, "Caesar": ORU 1 → 0).

Beating up Supreme King Z-ARC, are...
"Executive Genghis"
"Executive Caesar"
"Executive Alexander"

"Genghis", "Caesar", and "Alexander" attack "Supreme King Z-ARC". As there are Fusion, Synchro, and/or Xyz Monsters banished and/or in the Graveyards, "Z-ARC" cannot be destroyed by battle (Z-ARC: 6000 → 5400 → 4800 → 2800 LP).

During Declan's End Phase, as Z-ARC took 2000 or more battle damage from one attack while he controlled "Z-ARC", Z-ARC activates "Supreme Rage" to destroy as many monsters he controls as possible, except "Z-ARC", and Special Summon "Supreme King Dragon Odd-Eyes", "Supreme King Dragon Dark Rebellion", "Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing" (2500/2000 each), and "Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom" (2800/2000) from his Extra Deck and/or Graveyard, ignoring their Summon conditions, and then attach two copies of "Supreme King Dragon Darkwurm" from his Extra Deck or Graveyard to "Dark Rebellion" as Xyz Materials.

At this point the effect of "Caesar" ends, and its own ATK, as well as that of "Genghis", return to normal ("Caesar" & "Genghis": 4600 → 2800)

Turn 17: Z-ARC

"Supreme King Z-ARC" and his servants, ready to punish Declan for triggering "Supreme Rage".

"Clear Wing" attacks "Alexander". As "Clear Wing" is battling, Z-ARC activates its effect to negate the attack, destroy the opponent's batting monster, and inflict damage to Declan equal to the ATK of the destroyed monster. "Alexander" is destroyed, but as Declan would take effect damage, he activates the Pendulum Effect of "Dirac", Special Summoning it from his Pendulum Zone (800/1600) in Defense Position. As "Dirac" was Special Summoned, its monster effect reduces that damage to 0. "Dark Rebellion" attacks "Caesar", with Z-ARC activating the effect of "Dark Rebellion" during damage calculation, detaching an Overlay Unit to reduce the ATK of the monster it battles to 0 and add the lost ATK to its own ("Caesar": 2800 → 0, "Dark Rebellion": 2500 → 5300). As Declan would take battle damage, he activates the Pendulum Effect of "Schrödinger", reducing the battle damage to 0 and Special Summoning it from his Pendulum Zone (600/2400) in Defense Position. The attack continues and "Caesar" is destroyed.

Z-ARC activates the effect of "Starving Venom", allowing it to negate the effects of a monster on the field or in the Graveyard and take them. Z-ARC negates the effects of "Alexander" in Declan's Graveyard. The effect of "Starving Venom" gained from "Alexander" doubles its own ATK there are two or more "D/D" monsters on the field other than itself ("Starving Venom": 2800 → 5600). "Starving Venom" attacks and destroys "Genghis", but Declan activates the effect of "Schrödinger", as he would take battle damage, reducing that damage to 0. "Odd-Eyes" attacks and destroys "Dirac". The effect of "Starving Venom" grants monsters he controls the ability to inflict piercing damage. The effect of "Odd-Eyes" doubles any battle damage his opponent takes from battles involving Pendulum Monsters Z-ARC controls (Declan: 2000 → 200 LP). "Z-ARC" attacks "Schrödinger".

At this point, Riley/Ray enters the Duel and takes the intrusion penalty (Riley/Ray: 4000 → 2000 LP).

"Schrödinger" is destroyed. With the effect of "Starving Venom" and "Odd-Eyes" combined, "Z-ARC" inflicts doubled piercing damage (Declan: 200 → 0 LP).

Declan defeated.

Part 7: Riley and Ray Akaba[edit]

At this point, Z-ARC has 2800 LP and controls "Supreme King Z-ARC" (4000/4000), "Supreme King Dragon Odd-Eyes", "Supreme King Dragon Dark Rebellion", "Supreme King Dragon Clear Wing" (2500/2000 each), and "Supreme King Dragon Starving Venom" (2800/2000), all in Attack Position. He also has "Supreme King Gate Zero" (Right Pendulum Scale.png 0) and "Supreme King Gate Infinity" (Left Pendulum Scale.png 13) in his Pendulum Zones with their effects negated, and no cards in his hand and Spell & Trap Zone. Riley and Ray Akaba have 5 cards in their hand and 2000 LP. "Crossover" is active on the field.

Turn 18: Ray (Riley)

Riley/Ray prepares to defeat Z-ARC and the "Supreme King".

Riley and Ray activate "Life Transformation", sending all cards in their hand to the Graveyard ("C/C Critical Eye", "Film Magician", "Montage Fusion", "Nightmare Critical Loop", and "Photo Frame") to Set four Spell Cards from any Graveyard to her field. They target and Set "En Birds", "En Flowers", "En Moon", and "En Winds" from Leo's Graveyard. Riley and Ray activate their Set "En Flowers".

Riley and Ray activate the Four Nature Cards.
"En Birds" neutralizing Xyz Monsters.

As there are three or more Xyz Monster in any Graveyard and/or that banished while they control "En Flowers", Riley and Ray activate their Set "En Birds", which treats all Xyz Monsters in any Graveyard, that are banished, and on the field as Normal Monsters, and negates their effects. "Z-ARC" and "Dark Rebellion" lose their effects.

"En Winds" neutralizing Synchro Monsters.

As there are three or more Synchro Monsters in any Graveyard and/or that banished while they control "En Birds", Riley and Ray activate their Set "En Winds", which treats all Synchro Monsters in any Graveyard, that are banished, and on the field as Normal Monsters, and negates their effects. "Z-ARC" and "Clear Wing" lose their effects.

"En Moon" neutralizing Fusion Monsters.

As there are three or more Fusion Monsters in any Graveyard and/or that banished while they control "En Winds", Riley and Ray activate their Set "En Moon", which treats all Fusion Monsters in any Graveyard, that are banished, and on the field as Normal Monsters, and negates their effects. "Z-ARC" and "Starving Venom" lose their effects.

The "Supreme King" is finally defeated.

Riely and Ray activate the effect of "En Flowers" as they controls "En Birds", "En Moon", and "En Winds"; negating the effects of all monsters on the field again, destroy them, and inflicting 600 damage to their controllers for each of them sent to the Graveyard. As "Z-ARC" and "Odd-Eyes" are Pendulum Monsters, they are placed in the Extra Deck instead, so only "Dark Rebellion", "Clear Wing", and "Starving Venom" are counted for the damage (Z-ARC: 2800 → 1000 LP).

At this point. Yuya suppresses Z-ARC and continues the Duel in his place while using his cards.

Turn 19: Yuya (Z-ARC)

Returning from Z-ARC's influence, are..

Yuya draws and activates the Quick-Play Spell Card "Smile Universe", which Special Summons as many Pendulum Monsters from his Extra Deck as possible, but their effects are negated, they are treated as Normal Monsters, his opponent gains LP equal to the sum of their ATK, and neither player can Normal or Special Summon, nor attack, this turn. Yuya Special Summons "Supreme King Z-ARC" (4000/4000) and "Supreme King Dragon Odd-Eyes" (2500/2000) (Riley/Ray: 2000 → 8500 LP).[Notes 2]

Turn 20: Ray (Riley)
Riley and Ray activate the effect of "En Flowers" as they controls "En Birds", "En Moon", and "En Winds" to negate the effects of all monsters on the field, destroy them, and inflict 600 damage to their controllers for each monster sent to the Graveyard. "Z-ARC" and "Odd-Eyes" are destroyed (Yuya: 1000 → 0 LP).[Notes 3]

Aftermath[edit]

After the Duel, as Z-ARC was defeated by the effect of Four Nature Cards, Earth was about to tear itself again into four dimensions, with the possibility of history repeating itself and Z-ARC trying to return once more in the same way. However, Riley sacrificed herself by expelling Ray's soul and sealing Z-ARC's one within her body. This caused the souls of Zuzu and her counterparts to turn unstable and remain trapped in the ARC-V Reactor. On the other hand, Yuya returned as his normal self, except with his counterpart and their dragons stealthy residing with him, as well as briefly losing his memories of Zuzu and all events related to Z-ARC and the war. The Four Nature Cards also did not reform into the Four Dimension Bracelets.

Trivia[edit]

  • This Duel is implied to last quite some time in-universe, as it starts in fully-lit day and ends a bit after sunset. This matches with the 5-episode span, which would put it at least an hour and a half in length.

Notes[edit]

  1. The written lore of "Supreme Faceoff" only allows this effect to be activated during the Battle Phase. As Sylvio showed no intention of entering the Battle Phase, this should not have been possible.
  2. The written Japanese lore of "Supreme King Z-ARC" states that it can only be Special Summoned by the effect of "Astrograph Sorcerer".
  3. It is not explained how Yuya takes damage this way, as both destroyed monsters are Pendulum Monsters that should have went to the Extra Deck like the previous time.
