Psychic Duelist

A Psychic Duelist is an individual who displays certain powers. The exact details or full extent of such power has yet to be explained. The concept appears in Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's.

Powers

The know abilities of Psychic Duelists includes materializing Duel Monsters using cards and causing Life Points damage inflicted on the opponent to become real pain, even outside of a duel. Akiza Izinski and Sayer have displayed such abilities. Causing Life Points damage to become real pain, is involuntary on Akiza's behalf and is fueled by her hatred and violent nature.

Thus because of their powers to inflict real damage in duel, is that it their dueling has been classified into a different kind. It is known that whenever a Psychic duelist is fighting, they called it a Psychic Duel.

Luna is believed to be a psychic duelist. She is capable of communicating with Duel Monster spirits. This power is at its hype while she duels. As a result, she tires easily after dueling. Playing Duel Monsters has caused her to be transported to the Duel Monster Spirits World on two occasions.

Earlier Mentions

In the first series of Yugioh there was a group of triplets called the Kageyama Sisterswho claimed to be witches, and could influence their opponents physical being. Although they are never called physic duelists they do go to Black Rose Academy and favor a card called the Violet Hecate, both black roses and violet magicians are signatures ofAkiza.

Influence

Society has been known to reject Psychic Duelists. Akiza Izinski, was even neglected by her own parents, due to the nature of her powers, which had been causing legitimate injury. Akiza caused many accidents, while dueling, easily turning society against her. As a result she took on the Persona of the Black Rose.

Sayer founded the Arcadia Movement. He explained his motive as creating a refuge for Psychic Duelists to protect them from the world and use their powers to get revenge on everyone for neglecting them. Although he is believed to abuse the socially neglected. The Arcadia Movement is rumored to conduct suspicious unconventional experiments, which Akiza painfully discovers that she is among the list of experimented subjects after Divine's supposed death and her second duel with Yusei.
