This article is about the ability. For the song, see: Clear Mind (song).

Clear Mind is the "ability" to control Ener-D with ones own heart.[1] Clear Mind is required in order to perform an Accel Synchro Summon.[2] and to perform a Top Clear Mind.[3] Finally to exceed Over Top Clear Mind.[4] In a sense, Clear Mind can be a state in which a person frees him/herself of all the negativity in their minds and hearts.

Requirements

Yusei and Antinomy stated that one of the three requirements for Clear Mind is achieved through speed. (Primo was able to block this requirement once by ordering his Diablo minions to surround his opponent, preventing acceleration.)

The second requirement for Clear Mind is that the mind must be clear, psychologically speaking. Which basically means one must focus on the battle at hand and nothing else. This is shown when Yusei fails to Accel Synchro Summon the first time due to Primo's taunting. Even with that condition said, Yusei has been able to achieve Clear Mind even when his mind wasn't totally clear by the bonds he holds with his friends, recurring to Crimson Dragon's power instead.

Z-one stated that the last requirement is a card that has the ability to Accel Synchro Summon.

Top Clear Mind

The enhanced stance in exceeding limits, Top Clear Mind is an evolved form of the Clear Mind first introduced by Antinomy during his second duel with Yusei. It is necessary in order to perform a Delta Accel Synchro. Its power greatly exceeds the one of Clear Mind, proved when Antinomy performed a Delta Accel Synchro in his duel with Yusei, which caused the star nearby where they were fighting to collapse and turn into a Black Hole. To achieve this, the user must strongly believe in their own potential to exceed their limits.

Over Top Clear Mind

The ultimate stance in exceeding limits, Over Top Clear Mind is an evolved form of Top Clear Mind and Clear Mind. It is introduced by Yusei during his duel against Z-one in Episode 150. It is necessary in order to perform a Limit Over Accel Synchro Summon. It's power is so great (greatly exceeding Top Clear Mind) that it turned Yusei himself, Yusei's Duel Runner, and the Synchro Rings gold-colored while in this state, possibly implying its god-like powers. To achieve this, the user, just like Top Clear Mind, must strongly believe in their potential to exceed their limits, however they must do so believing with the bonds of those closest to them such as friends or supporters.
