"Twisted Utopia" is the one-hundredth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! VRAINS anime. It first aired in Japan on May 1, 2019.

Playmaker is completely helpless before Bohman, who uses the consciousness of the people trapped in LINK VRAINS to create a Data Storm, and summons forth a powerful "Hydradrive" monster. Seeing this, the three Knights of Hanoi decide to take action.

Featured Duel: Playmaker vs. Bohman

Duel continues from the previous episode.

Playmaker has 4000 LP and controls "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" (2500/2000) in the Extra Monster Zone in Attack Position. Bohman has 4000 LP and controls "Chimera Hydradrive Dragrid" (4000/←↙↓↘→) (with 1 Hydradrive Counter) in the Extra Monster Zone.

Turn 2: Playmaker
Bohman has just activated his Skill, "Master Storm Access", accessing the Neural Link once per turn and adding a random Cyberse monster to his Extra Deck.

Bohman activates the effect of "Chimera Hydradrive Dragrid", removing 1 "Hydradrive Counter" ("Dragrid" Hydradrive Counters: 1 → 0) from it to roll a die, then return "Dragrid" to his Extra Deck and Special Summon 1 "Draghead" monster from his Extra Deck, whose Attribute corresponds to the die roll (● 1: EARTH ● 2: WATER ● 3: FIRE ● 4: WIND ● 5: LIGHT ● 6: DARK). He rolls a 2 (WATER), so he returns "Dragrid" to the Extra Deck and Special Summons "Chimera Hydradrive Draghead - Aqua" (4000/↙←↖↑↗) to the Extra Monster Zone. Since it was Special Summoned, Bohman activates the effect of "Draghead - Aqua", negating the effects of all other monsters that "Drafhead - Aqua" does not point to. The effects of "Cyberse Quantum Dragon" are negated. Playmaker Sets a card. During the End Phase, the effect of "Draghead - Aqua" activates, returning itself to Bohman's Extra Deck and Special Summons "Dragrid" (4000/←↙↓↘→) from his Extra Deck to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Dragrid" was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, Bohman activates its effect, placing 1 "Hydradrive Counter" on it ("Dragrid" Hydradrive Counters: 0 → 1).

Turn 3: Bohman
Bohman activates his Skill, "Master Storm Access", accessing the Neural Link once per turn and adding a random Cyberse monster to his Extra Deck.

Bohman activates the effect of "Dragrid", removing 1 Hydradrive Counter from it ("Dragrid" Hydradrive Counters: 1 → 0) to rolls a dice, then return "Dragrid" to his Extra Deck and Special Summon 1 "Draghead" monster from his Extra Deck, whose Attribute corresponds to the die roll. He rolls a 3 (FIRE), so he returns "Dragrid" to the Extra Deck, and Special Summons "Chimera Hydradrive Draghead - Flame" (4000/↖↑↗→↘). Since it was Special Summoned, Bohman activates its effect, destroying all other monsters on the field that "Draghead - Flame" does not point to. Playmaker activates the effect of "Cyberse Synchron" in his GY: if a monster he controls in the Extra Monster Zone would be destroyed, he can banish "Cyberse Synchron" from his GY instead. Due to the effect of "Cyberse Synchron", "Quantum Dragon" isn't destroyed.

Bohman attacks and destroys "Quantum Dragon" with "Draghead - Flame" (Playmaker: 4000 → 2500 LP). During the End Phase, the effect of "Draghead - Flame" activates, returning itself to Bohman's Extra Deck and Special Summoning "Dragrid" from his Extra Deck to the Extra Monster Zone. As "Dragrid" was Special Summoned from the Extra Deck, Bohman activates its effect, placing 1 "Hydradrive Counter" on it ("Dragrid" Hydradrive Counters: 0 → 1).

Turn 4: Playmaker
Playmaker Normal Summons "Clock Wyvern" (1800/1000), and activates its effect: if "Clock Wyvern" is Normal or Special Summoned, Playmaker can halve its ATK to Special Summon a "Clock Token". He halves its ATK ("Clock Wyvern": 1800 → 900 ATK) and Special Summons 1 "Clock Token" (0/0) in Defense Position. He sets 1 "Clock Token" (1 Normal Monster) in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Link Spider" (1000/↓) to the Extra Monster Zone. Playmaker activates the effect of "Link Spider", letting him Special Summon 1 Level 4 or below Normal Monster from his hand to the Monster Zone "Link Spider" points to. He Special Summons "Protron" (100/100) from his hand in Defense Position. Playmaker sets "Clock Wyvern" and "Link Spider" (2 Cyberse monsters) in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Clock Spartoi" (800/↓↘) to the Extra Monster Zone. Playmaker activates the effect of "Clock Spartoi": since it was Link Summoned, he can add 1 "Cynet Fusion" from his Deck to his hand. Playmaker sets "Protron" (1 Level 1 monster) in the Link Arrows to Link Summon "Linkuriboh" (300/↓) to one of the Main Monster Zones "Clock Spartoi" points to. Since a monster was Special Summoned to a Monster Zone it points to, Playmaker activates the effect of "Clock Spartoi", letting him target 1 Level 4 or below Cyberse monster in his GY and Special Summon it to a Monster Zone it points to, but its effects are negated and he cannot Special Summon monsters from his Extra Deck for the rest of the turn, except Fusion Monsters. He Special Summons "Clock Wyvern" in Attack Position.

Playmaker activates "Cynet Fusion", allowing him to Fusion Summon 1 Cyberse Fusion Monster, using monsters from his hand and/or field as Fusion Material. He fuses "Clock Wyvern", "Linkuriboh", and "Clock Spartoi" to Fusion Summon "Cyberse Clock Dragon" (2500/2000) to the Extra Monster Zone in Attack Position. As it was Fusion Summoned, Playmaker activates the effect of "Cyberse Clock Dragon", sending cards from the top of his Deck to the GY equal to the combined Link Rating of the Link Monsters used to Fusion Summon it, then gaining 1000 ATK for each card sent. The combined Link Rating of "Clock Spartoi" and "Linkuriboh" is three, so Playmaker sends the top three cards of his deck to the GY, increasing the ATK of "Clock Dragon" by 3000 ("Cyberse Clock Dragon": 2500 → 5500 ATK).

Duel continues in the next episode.
