"Good Manya-rning from TV Land" is the eighth episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. It first aired in Japan on May 22, 2022.
Manya Atachi, a talented child actress, will be starring in the only show that is popular on Mutsuba Cable TV: "Learning the Fun Way - Ultimate Go Rush!" Yuamu, her childhood friend, was asked to Duel her. The two haven't seen each other for five years, and Yuamu can't help but feel bewildered after seeing how Manya has changed...

On TV, the blue-haired girl is presenting an infomercial that is selling a massage chair for 88% off and offering a second one free. Yudias think it's a fantastic bargain and that he must call them immediately, but Yuamu looks up from her cards and tells him they don't need it, and Yudias tears up and curses "Jo jon du" in disappointment.
Outside the Mutsuba Cable Studio a girl in a white dress exits a limousine, and a magenta-haired boy thanks her for coming all this way as he pushes her luggage. As they reach the doors, the girl looks at the park across the road to see two boys playfighting in costumes and comments that this town reeks of the boonies as usual. Inside, the MC tells the audience to prepare to be shocked; child actress Manya Atachi who has recently made her international debut is coming to her hometown of Mutsuba Town to appear on their one and only Mutsuba Cable TV, and on their only popular program: "Learning the Fun Way - Ultimate Go Rush!". He holds out the microphone to the audience, asking how they're feeling after such big news.
In the MCV lobby, Yuamu tells Yuhi that it's been five years since they've seen Manya, but Yuhi doesn't remember her and has to be reminded Yuamu and Manya were in preschool together, though Yuamu realizes that Yuhi was always off with the boys and so he never saw the girls, while Yudias remarks he heard Manya's voice on the CD the day before. The MC approaches them, Yuamu politely greeting him and the MC telling her he hopes she'll be a good opponent today, remarking on the coincidence of the UTS president they're indebted to being a classmate of Manya's in preschool. He asks who Yudias is, but Yudias can barely begin to answer before the MC deduces he's the new UTS employee and asks them to come for a pre-show brief.
Outside, Manabu and Nyandestar are leading several MIK agents, Manabu noting the report was definitely from here and Nyandestar stating she can sense a faint trace of the alien's residual energy, her eyes glowing to show the alien's trail into the MCV building.
As Yudias, Yuhi and Yuamu wait with the MC in the briefing room (Yuhi scarfing down chips) someone declares Manya Atachi has arrived and the door opens to reveal Manya and the magenta-haired boy, the latter of whom asks the "normies" what's up. Manya tells the boy, Kirishima, to bring her the goods in a trendy manner, and he leaves to comply, while the country-born Yuhi wonders if that was a code and Yudias muses that it resembles the language of the Maygor Star Cluster. Yuamu looks at Manya in concern and she gets up and walks over to her, commenting that it's been a while, but to her shock Manya doesn't recognize her and Yuamu admits it has been five years, reminding her she's Yuamu Ohdo from preschool. But to her shock Manya claims it doesn't ring a bell and yawns at the notion of having to return to a place in the stick for some dingy cable channel for a special about her hometown. She notes that Yuamu should get it; her magazine is issued two days late, the shopping center closes at 7pm, there's no discos or trendy cafés, and Mutsuba Refresher is a total no-name brand of a drink. Her description of Mutsuba Town as a place for the boonies worries Yuamu, who thinks back to Manya telling her she wanted to be an actress as she was moving to the city, claiming she'd join an agency and become a big-time actress when she did. Yuamu had told Manya that though it would be lonely without her she believed Manya could become the world's, no, the universe's greatest actress, much to Manya's joy, and Manya asked Yuamu to watch her movies, Yuamu pinky-promising that she would. Yuamu sadly notes that Manya has changed and the MC nervously suggests they start the briefing.
Manabu, Nyandestar and the MIK agents move through the corridors, and eventually Manabu spots a small black shadow entering a room. Onstage the MC asks the live participants to take a seat, and as Yuhi watches from excitement backstage Yuamu looks over to see Manya yawning. The camerawoman declares there's thirty seconds until they're live and then Manabu, Nyandestar and the MIK agents enter asking if the alien is in here. The MC hurries to get them out of the shot and asks them to have a seat, Manabu mistaking that for the alien's name and Nyandestar suggesting they just go along with it. The MIK agents quickly sit down with the live participants as the camerawoman calls for ten seconds until broadcast, and once they're seated, counts down from five. Tell Kawai watches on a TV in the street, secreting water again as he eats a cucumber and the MC begins Learning the Fun Way – Ultimate Go Rush, claiming everyone has been waiting for today where their local elementary school team has a match with Manya Atachi's team. He introduces the first member of Manya's team, and Manya leaps out onto stage, cheerfully greeting everyone, Yudias repeating her greeting as Yuhi notes she seems like a different person now. Manya claims she's so excited to be back in her beloved Mutsuba Town's Mutsuba Cable, though the MC whispers this isn't what they discussed; Manya was supposed to be last. Manya reassures him it's fine, claiming she wants to finish quickly so she can have sushi, and the MC rolls with it, claiming you'd normally save the best players until last, but they at Mutsuba Cable like to break those barriers. He begins to introduce her opponent, and Yuhi is preparing to go onstage, but Yuamu tells him she'll go. She cheerfully enters, thanking them for having her, and the MC introduces her as Yuamu thinks she'll use this Duel to turn Manya back into a pure white canvas free of the awful dyes of the city, while Manya thinks Yuamu will be a perfect opponent to cut her ties to the boonies. The MC asks how they're feeling and Manya claims she's excited, while Yuamu agrees they'll have a fun Duel. They face off on the MCV Duel field, declaring their names and calling "Go Rush!!" as they insert their Decks into their Duel Disks, deploying the blades and the green holographic dome.
Manya declares her turn and draws, her hand containing "Bubble Kingdom", "Kanan the Swordmaiden", "Mystical Sandbox", "Tutumes Dark Witch", and "Caught in the Rain". First she Summons "Kanan the Swordmaiden", then "Mystical Sandbox", and finally "Tutumes Dark Witch", and then she activates the Field Spell Card "Bubble Kingdom". Giant bubbles surround them, causing Yudias to believe they've been warped to an unknown planet and Yuhi realizes it's the first time Yudias has seen a Field Spell, admitting it can be a shock even if you know it's just Solid Vision. Manya explains that Aqua Type Normal Monsters gain 500 ATK, increasing the ATK of "Tutumes Dark Witch" to 2000, "Kanan" to 1900 ATK, and "Mystical Sandbox" to 1700, much to Yudias' shock. The MC pops up to introduce the day's Fun Learning Corner and explains that Field Spells stay face-up on the field, and their effects are applied while they are until they're destroyed or removed from the field, commenting that they're amazing aren't they? Yudias agrees they are, and Manya Sets a card to end her turn.
Yuamu declares her turn, vowing to bring back Manya's memories of when they were younger, and she draws a card, her hand containing "Dual Coretls", "Applizard", "Alpha Burn Drake", "Dragosite", and "Update Wyvern". She Summons three monsters, "Dragosite", "Alpha Burn Drake" and "Applizard", then Tributes "Alpha Burn Drake" to Tribute Summon, chanting "It's always up to date with the latest and greatest info! Update Wyvern! Tribute Summon!" Yuhi and Yudias cheers as Yuamu glares at Manya, mentally begging her to remember, recalling they would always read magazines together at the beauty salon Manya's mother went to, commenting on the actors and actresses in them, always up to date with the latest trends, though Manya thinks the magazines were always months out of date. Yuamu next Tributes "Dragosite", chanting "Two cores overclocked! Parallel processing at explosive speeds! Dual Coretls! Tribute Summon!" She sends the top card of her Deck ("Dragonic Gacharge") to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Dual Coretls", doubling and doubling the flow of info to increase its ATK by 400, to 2100, and allow it to attack twice, much to Manya's shock. Yuamu declares battle, ordering "Dual Coretls" to attack "Tutumes Dark Witch", destroying it and reducing Manya to 3900 LP as she gasps her own name. Again "Dual Coretls" attacks, this time destroying "Kanan" and reducing Manya to 3700 LP as she stammers her own name, and then "Update Wyvern" attacks and destroys "Mystical Sandbox" with a barrage of data, reducing Manya to 3600 LP as she stammers. Finally "Applizard" attacks Manya directly, reducing her to 2100 LP as she cries her own name with an echo, Yuhi and Yudias cheering Yuamu's move. As Manya cries out she remembers her time with Yuamu and she asks herself what's happening; the past she discarded is returning. She shoots a glare at the smiling Yuamu, who ends her turn.
Manya stammers that it's her turn and she draws five cards; two "Spirit of the Mini Harp", "Dian Keto the Cure Maiden", and two "Nuvia the Wicked Mischief Maker". She Summons the two "Spirit of the Mini Harp", who both gain ATK from "Bubble Kingdom", rising to 500 ATK, and then they exit stage left to Tribute Summon, Manya chanting "Smashing the counterprograms! With the highest rating of 45%! Dian Keto the Cure Maiden!" Seeing the 2500 ATK monster, the MC gasps, recalling a one-off show about the struggles of a child doctor with healing abilities that went onto become a movie and another TV series; it was The Cure Maiden and is undoubtedly Manya Atachi's most popular work. Yuhi wonders what Manya is doing, confusing Yudias, and he clarifies that "Dian Keto" isn't a Normal Monster and thus won't gain ATK from the Field Spell, so why did Manya Summon it? Manya vows not to lose in the sticks, recalling that she initially was only able to get modelling jobs for no-name stores when she first joined a talent agency and was bullied by her senior actors, wandering lonely and depressed in the rain. She found a box with "please take me home with you" written on the side, containing a small dog, and she asked if the dog was lonely too, telling it not to give up. Then she realized the same could be said to her, and she picked the dog up as she stood up, declaring she couldn't give into the pressure of the big city and vowing she'd become a big-time actress. From that point on she auditioned for role after role, and on her 88th audition she landed the role of The Cure Maiden, her goddess of salvation.
She Summons her two "Nuvia the Wicked Mischief Makers" and the activates the prodigal child actress effect of "Dian Keto" as a Field Spell is in play, "Lovely Skincare". She draws a card and reveals it, "Rainy Megalopolis", and since she drew a Field Spell, she gains 1000 LP, rising to 3100 LP. Then she sends "Bubble Kingdom" to the Graveyard to activate "Rainy Megalopolis" as she controls at least two Aqua Type monsters, placing them on rainclouds in a city at night, and Yuhi gasps that Manya changed out her Field Spell, Yudias gasping "What?" in shock. The MC pops up to explain that a player can only control one Field Spell, but they can replace the one they have to use another, and adds that now "Dian Keto" will come to life. Manya explains that Aqua Type monsters will gain 200 ATK (her two "Nuvia" and "Dian Keto" rising to 1200 and 2700 ATK respectively), while non-Aqua Type monsters lose 200 ATK ("Dual Coretls" falling to 1500 ATK, "Update Wyvern" to 1600 and "Applizard" to 1300), and thinks that she was remade into an actress suited for the big city when she picked up that puppy, Yuamu noting that Manya must have been inspired. Manya then sends another "Mystical Sandbox" and "Kanan" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard to activate the effects of both her "Nuvia", increasing the ATK of all Aqua Type monsters she controls by 200 each. With two copies, all her monsters gain 400 ATK, the two "Nuvia" rising to 1600 ATK and "Dian Keto" to 3100 ATK, and then since Manya has a Field Spell she can also activate her Spell Card "Caught in the Rain", and Yuhi and Yudias gasp as Manya explains that all Normal Monsters Yuamu controls will lose 300 ATK for each monster she controls. "Update Wyvern" and "Applizard" both lose 900 ATK, falling to 700 and 400 respectively, and Manya thinks to herself that showbiz is a world of chance where sometimes it will rain and sometimes it will shine. She orders a "Nuiva the Wicked Mischief Maker" to attack "Applizard", destroying it and reducing Yuamu to 2800 LP, then orders the other to attack and destroy "Update Wyvern", taking Yuamu down to 1900 LP. "Dian Keto" then attacks and destroys "Dual Coretls", declaring her catchphrase to be "the cost of treatment is your heart" as "Dian Keto" blasts a surge of water from her bubble at "Dual Coretls", destroying it and reducing Yuamu to 300 LP as she recognizes The Cure Maiden's catchphrase from the show and Yuhi and Yudias gasp. Manya smiles and wonders if Yuamu understands this is the power she has gained from the big city, a noble and gorgeous energy for a famous actress. Yuamu admits the attack sure packed a punch and Manya believes it may as well be over, ending her turn and returning the ATK of her monsters to normal.
Yuamu declares her turn, drawing five cards: another "Alpha Burn Drake" and "Dragosite", "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon", and two "Beta Burn Dragons". She Summons two monsters, "Alpha Burn Drake" and "Dragosite", and Manya points out the effect of "Rainy Megalopolis" is still applying, reducing the ATK of "Alpha Burn Drake", though Yuamu thinks that she knows and Tributes her two monsters to Tribute Summon, chanting "Super high-speed access with top-notch pairing! Emerging from the sea of electrons, it descends upon us! Come out! Blue Tooth Burst Dragon!" Yuhi cheers that "Blue Tooth" is here, though Manya insists that "Keto" can't be beaten in "Rainy Megalopolis", which reduces "Blue Tooth" to 2300 ATK. Yuamu then Summons two "Beta Burst Dragons", which fall to 1200 ATK as Manya points out she said it was no use, but Yuamu tells Manya she's coming and Manya flinches in shock. Yuamu activates the effect of a "Beta Burst Dragon", inflicting 100 damage to Manya for each monster she controls, and since Manya controls three she loses 300 LP as orange sparks shock her, bringing her down to 2800 LP. Yuamu activates the effect of the second "Beta Burn Dragon", reducing Manya to 2500 LP, though Manya insists this won't make a famous actress like her budge a bit. But Yuamu sends the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon", destroying all monsters Manya controls with 1500 or less ATK, declaring "Mega, Giga, Tera, Peta! It'll only take a second to completely wipe this data!" as "Blue Tooth" blasts a surge of energy from its mouth with "Data Erasing of Destruction", destroying both "Nuvia" as Manya yelps in shock, while Yudias is shocked that "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" had such an effect. Yuhi tells him that Yuamu's Deck is an integrated circuit of monsters, their effects feeding one another as they are added up. Yuamu adds that "Blue Tooth" gains 300 ATK for each monster destroyed, and "Blue Tooth" powers up to 2900 ATK as Manya yelps in terror. Yuamu orders "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" to attack "Dian Keto the Cure Maiden" with "Burst Streaming of Destruction", and it blasts white lightning from its maw to consume "Dian Keto", reducing Manya to 2300 LP as she laments the loss of "Keto", the life of her acting career. "Beta Burn Dragon" then attacks Manya directly with spirals of flames, Manya gasping over the pride as an actress, her makeup and outfits are all being ripped away as she falls to 1100 LP. The camerawoman asks the MC if Manya wasn't supposed to win, and the MC reassures her it's fine, declaring this is the life of live TV and telling her to keep the cameras rolling. Yuamu attacks directly with her other "Beta Burn Dragon", wiping out Manya's LP as she yelps "nya-nya!" and dramatically gasps that all her glory is being ripped away.
Manya can't believe she lost to a little brat from the countryside and protests that she's destined to stand atop the world, much to everyone's shock. But Yuamu claps and cheers, noting it's a line from when Manya played the rival in Runaway Actress Girl, and Manya asks if Yuamu noticed. Yuamu claims that of course she did, as she watches everything Manya appears in, and Manya smiles as she notes Yuamu has kept their five-year promise and thanks her. The MC can only stare in shock as Yuhi notes things are cozy all of a sudden, and Yuamu explains Manya had been acting from the beginning, much to Yuhi and Yudias' surprise, and Manya cheerfully notes Yuamu caught on from the beginning and admit that it was fun, like they were little kids again. Yuamu admits it was nostalgic, like when they used to play actresses in preschool, and as the girls laugh, the MC finally composes himself and pops up with a sign, commenting on the surprising turn of events and asking the audience how they're feeling after this super surprise, while Manya asks how her acting was. The live audience (including most of the MIK agents) erupt in cheers, Yuamu smiling at Manya, though poor Nyandestar is wide-eyed and Manabu asks what on Earth this is. The MC suggests they start the second round, and Nyandestar jerks up, her eyes glowing red as she gasps that she can feel it, and Manabu gasps "What?!"

Turn 1: Manya
Manya's hand contains "Bubble Kingdom", "Kanan the Swordmaiden", "Mystical Sandbox", "Tutumes Dark Witch", and "Caught in the Rain". Manya Normal Summons "Tutumes Dark Witch" (1500/0), "Mystical Sandbox" (1200/1200), and "Kanan" (1400/0). Manya activates the Field Spell Card "Bubble Kingdom". The effect of "Bubble Kingdom" increases the ATK of all Aqua Type Normal Monsters on the field by 500 ("Tutumes Dark Witch": 1500/0 → 2000/0; "Mystical Sandbox": 1200/1200 → 1700/1200; "Kanan": 1400/0 → 1900/0). Manya Sets a card.
Turn 2: Yuamu
Yuamu's hand contains "Dual Coretls", "Applizard", "Alpha Burn Drake", "Dragosite", and "Update Wyvern". Yuamu Normal Summons "Dragosite" (0/1500), "Alpha Burn Drake" (600/1000), and "Applizard" (1500/0). Yuamu Tributes "Alpha Burn Drake" to Tribute Summon "Update Wyvern" (1800/1600). Yuamu Tributes "Dragosite" to Tribute Summon "Dual Coretls" (1700/0). Yuamu activates the effect of "Dual Coretls", sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard increase its by 400 until the end of the turn and allow it to attack monsters twice this turn, but it cannot attack directly. She sends "Dragonic Gacharge" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard ("Dual Coretls": 1700/0 → 2100/0). "Dual Coretls" attacks and destroys "Tutumes Dark Witch" and "Kanan" (Manya: 4000 → 3900 → 3700 LP). "Update Wyvern" attacks and destroys "Mystical Sandbox" (Manya: 3700 → 3600 LP). Manya draws two copies of "Spirit of the Mini Harp", "Dian Keto the Cure Maiden", and two copies of "Nuvia the Wicked Mischief Maker". Manya Normal Summons two copies of "Spirit of the Mini Harp" (0/1400 → 500/1400). Manya Tributes both copies of "Spirit of the Mini Harp" to Tribute Summon "Dian Keto the Cure Maiden" (2500/1000). Manya Normal Summons two copies of "Nuvia the Wicked Mischief Maker" (1000/800). As Manya controls a face-up Field Spell Card, she activates the effect of "Dian Keto", drawing a card and revealing it, and if that card is a Field Spell, she gains 1000 LP. She draws the Field Spell Card "Rainy Megalopolis" (Manya: 2100 → 3100 LP). As Manya controls two or more face-up Aqua Type monsters, she sends "Bubble Kingdom" to the Graveyard to activate the Field Spell Card "Rainy Megalopolis". The effect of "Rainy Megalopolis" increases the ATK of all Aqua Type monsters on the field by 200 and reduces the ATK of all non-Aqua monsters on the field to lose 200 ATK ("Nuvia": 1000/800 → 1200/800, "Nuvia": 1000/800 → 1200/800, "Dian Keto": 2500/1000 → 2700/1000, "Dual Coretls": 1700/0 → 1500/0, "Update Wyvern": 1800/1600 → 1600/1600, "Applizard": 1500/0 → 1300/0). As Manya controls three Aqua Type monsters, she activates the effect of both copies of "Nuvia", sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard to increase the ATK of all Aqua Type monsters she controls by 200 ATK until the end of the turn, then she can add "Rainy Megalopolis" from her Graveyard to her hand. She sends "Mystical Sandbox" and "Kanan" from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard. ("Nuvia": 1200/800 → 1400/800 → 1600/800; "Nuvia": 1200/800 → 1400/800 → 1600/800; "Dian Keto": 2700/1000 → 2900/1000 → 3100/1000). As there is a face-up Field Spell Card on the field, Manya activates her Set Spell Card "Caught in the Rain", reducing the ATK of all Normal Monsters Yuamu controls by 300 for each monster she controls until the end of the turn, then Manya can destroy one card in Yuamu's Spell & Trap Zone. Yuamu controls three monsters ("Update Wyvern": 1600/1600 → 700/1600; "Applizard": 1300/0 → 400/0). One copy of "Nuvia" attacks and destroys "Applizard" (Yuamu: 4000 → 2800 LP). The other copy of "Nuvia" attacks and destroys "Update Wyvern" (Yuamu: 2800 → 1900 LP). "Dian Keto" attacks and destroys "Dual Coretls" (Yuamu: 1900 → 300 LP).
Turn 4: Yuamu
Yuamu draws "Alpha Burn Drake", "Dragosite", "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon", and two copies of "Beta Burn Dragon". Yuamu Normal Summons "Alpha Burn Drake" (600/1000 → 400/1000) and "Dragosite" (0/1500). Yuamu Tributes "Alpha Burn Drake" and "Dragosite" to Tribute Summon "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" (2500/1500 → 2300/1500). Yuamu Normal Summons two copies of "Beta Burn Dragon" (1400/0 → 1200/0). As "Beta Burn Dragon" was Normal Summoned this turn and Yuamu controls another Dragon Type monster, Yuamu activates its effect, inflicting 100 damage to Manya for each monster she controls. Manya controls three monsters (Manya: 3100 → 2800 LP). Yuam activates the effect of her other "Beta Burn Dragon" (Manya: 2800 → 2500 LP). Yuamu activates the effect of "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon", sending the top card of her Deck to the Graveyard to destroy all monsters Manya controls with 1500 or less ATK, then "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" gains 300 ATK for each monster destroyed by this effect. She sends an unknown card from the top of her Deck to the Graveyard and destroys both copies of the 1200 ATK "Nuvia" ("Blue Tooth Burst Dragon": 2300/1500 → 2900/1500). "Blue Tooth Burst Dragon" attacks and destroys "Dian Keto" (Manya: 2500 → 2300 LP). Both copies of "Beta Burn Dragon" attack Manya directly (Manya: 2300 → 1100 → 0 LP).
