Alfred (アルフレッド Arufureddo) is a character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. He is the butler of the Kallister family.

Design

Alfred is an elderly man with red eyes and charcoal hair. His hair is neatly parted save a small lock and shaven at the sides, and he has a long goatee, eyebrows and moustache. Alfred wears a grey suit with a black tie, lighter grey waistcoat, white gloves and brown shoes. He wears a roll of what appears to be duct tape on a red and white lanyard around his neck.

Personality

As butler to the heirs of Kallister Gears, Alfred is unfailingly polite and courteous, referring to Yudias by his full name and with honorifics for his bravery in saving Mutsuba Town numerous times and apologizing for Epoch's discourtesy following his discovery of her distracting Yudias in his efforts to get her signature. However he cares deeply for Epoch's mental well-being and is very perceptive in determining her true feelings despite her outward claims.

Etymology

Alfred is likely named after Alfred Pennyworth, the butler to the DC Comics superhero, Batman.

Biography

Fifth Arc

Alfred arrived home from purchasing groceries to find Epoch engaged in a Trumpet Duet with Yudias Velgear, who recognized him from a photo Epoch had shown him and Alfred in turn recognized Yudias for his heroics. Yudias explained he and Shewbahha had delivered a package and Epoch had stolen his Deck and refused to give him her signature. Alfred provided Yudias with the necessary seal, which Yudias gave to Shewbahha to allow him to return to MIK. After Shewbahha left, Alfred apologized for Epoch's actions and asked Yudias to tutor her in Rush Dueling, believing it would help bring her out of her shell and enable her to run Kallister Gears in the future, explaining that Yudias was the only person to reach the final box of the Trumpet Duet and that Epoch had enjoyed spending time with him. Yudias agreed, but Epoch, having been eavesdropping, barged in and denied wanting a tutor before running off, though Alfred once again stated that she liked Yudias.

Deck

Alfred was never showing Dueling on-screen, but in Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! episode 08585: "Spacetime Classroom", he was transformed into "Zero Rite Killing Method" by Kuaidul Velgear. Since Kuaidul also turned other characters into their signature cards, this implies Alfred may own that card.
