Zaion |
Zaion (ザイオン Zaion), also known as The☆Providence (ザ☆セツリ Za☆Setsuri), is a character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GO RUSH!! anime. A chief of staff serving under The☆Lugh, Zaion was later revealed to be the representative for "Providence", a galactic cheap furniture company, with the intentions of pressuring Kallister Gears into mass-producing gears for an unfair price.

Design[edit]
Appearance[edit]
Zaion resembles Nail Saionji from Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS. He has grey hair in the same style as Nail's and conceals his face behind a visor and a dark grey scarf wrapped around his mouth, neck and shoulders. He dresses in dark winter clothing due to the cold climate aboard The☆Lugh's spaceship: a charcoal mantle with a fur lining, a dark grey overcoat with brass buttons and charcoal cuffs that reaches to his ankles, grey pants, charcoal fur-cuffed military boots, and black gloves.
Etymology[edit]
"Zaion" is seemingly taken from portions of Nail's surname, "Saionji," but the "S" is replaced with a "Z." His name can also be translated as "Zion," a place of peace and refuge in religious contexts. This can be a nod to both Nail's philosophy and part of Zaion's alias, "providence," another term with a religious/divine connotation.
Abilities[edit]
Due to swallowing a small gear manufactured by Kallister Gears, Zaion gains the ability to transform living beings into sentient furniture.
Biography[edit]
The☆Providence welcomed London Kirishima and Netsuzo Shinjitsu aboard The☆Lugh's spaceship after opening a way for their ship to enter. London offered a gift to The☆Lugh: a Duel Disk and a Deck of Rush Dueling cards and asked if they could meet the Great King; The☆Providence agreed and brought the two to The☆Lugh's throne room. Once there, The☆Providence conveyed The☆Lugh's desire for London and Netsuzo to Rush Duel one another, declaring defying the Great King would be against providence. London defeated Netsuzo, and The☆Providence congratulated them, bringing a gift from The☆Lugh to Netsuzo to console him over his loss.[3]
Deck[edit]
Zaion uses a Space Deck composed of DARK Attribute Cyberse Type monsters. In a similar vein to The☆Lugh and "The Dragias", his ace monster is "Space Yggdrago", a parody of "Yggdrago the Sky Emperor", which he possesses multiple copies of and fuses into a stronger version: "Deep Space Yggdrago".
