Daisuke Katagiri is a character appearing in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime. He is said to be a Pro Duelist who is under the control of the heralds of the Barian World.

Design

Appearance

While using the power of the card, "Rank-Up Magic - Barian's Force", Katagiri has a Barian Emblem on his forehead. Also, while dueling like this, Katagiri is able to fight without a Duel Gazer. Instead, his right eye changes to red.

Personality

His real personality is similar to Quattro's fake one, as he likes to duel fans and sign autographs. He was shown to be a very kind person at first, but when Gilag brainwashed him, his personality changed drastically and he became much like the real Quattro. He became very violent and brutal, going as far as to brutally attack Rei Shingetsu while he was hurt and then maniacally laugh. When he was defeated by Yuma, his personality went back to normal.

Katagiri has a habit of saying "Hot-Blooded" (熱血ねっけつ, Nekketsu), which is unknown whether that this is normal for him or that it is due to Barian's influence.

Biography

Katagiri was first seen signing autographs at Heartland Middle School. He was very popular with the girls, and even Yuma wanted to meet and duel him at first. After defeating Bronk Stone and 4 other students at once in a friendly Duel, he went to his locker. To his surprise, however, Gilag entered and showed him the "Rank-Up Magic - Barian's Force" card, brainwashing Katagiri completely. When Rei wanted to challenge him, he accepted because he thought he could get Yuma's attention by doing this. He proceeded to brutally defeat Rei, and then waited for Yuma to come. When Yuma came, he instantly dueled him and began to gain the upper hand by destroying Yuma's "Number 34: Terror-Byte" using his "Chaos Xyz" monster. Even so, Yuma defeated him in the end, which turned Katagiri back into his old self.[1]
