Lists

"Earthbound Immortal", known as "Earthbound God" (ばくしん Jibakushin) in Japan, is an archetype of Level 10 DARK monsters. They were used by the Dark Signers in the anime.

"Earthbound Immortal" are based on the Nazca Lines. Each of them is pictured rising from its corresponding Line and their form matches the being they represent and their Type.

Monster Nazca Line Type
Uru Spider Insect
Aslla piscu Hummingbird Winged Beast
Cusillu Monkey Beast
Ccarayhua Lizard Reptile
Ccapac Apu Giant Fiend
Chacu Challhua Orca Fish
Wiraqocha Rasca Condor Winged Beast

Playing style

The "Earthbound Immortal" monsters are very powerful and have effects that range from inflincting Effect Damage to your opponent while locking their Battle Phase ("Chacu Challhua"), to taking control of an opposing monter, as in the case of "Uru". Also, all of them can attack their opponent directly and cannot be targeted for attacks.

Such a powerful set of effects comes with the some drawbacks: there cannot be more than 1 "Earthbound Immortal" monster on the field at the same time and they are destroyed once there is no Field Spell Card active.

Their strategy basically relies on attacking directly and dealing a huge damage every turn; once your opponent cannot attack them, and if they are protected by cards like "Safe Zone", "Mound of the Bound Creator", etc, there are few ways of stopping them.

Weaknesses

"Earthbound Immortals" are very strong, but since they depend on Field Spell Cards to exist on the field, cards like "Ancient Fairy Dragon", "Black Rose Dragon" and even "Mystical Space Typhoon" would destroy them. One can use cards like "Field Barrier" or "Malefic Stardust Dragon" to protect a Field Spell Card from being destroyed; "The Seal of Orichalcos" also works well in this Deck, as one of its effects helps prevent destruction, as well as boosts your monsters by 500 ATK. It is also important to be aware of cards that can simply remove the Field Spell without destroying it, such as "Shaddoll Dragon", "Castel, the Skyblaster Musketeer", etc, effectively not only bypassing "Field Barrier", but also disallowing you to play another Field Spell until "Field Barrier" itself is removed somehow. If you don't want to have this worry at all, you can use either "Hardened Armed Dragon" as a Tribute so that your "Earthbound Immortal" cannot be destroyed by card effects (including its own) or Summon an "Earthbound Linewalker" for the same protection. "March of the Monarchs" will also stop them being destroyed by their own effect. In an emergency situation, "Skill Drain" might also help to protect them.
