In case you're still wondering, Falzar, I can confirm from personal experience that no IP checking or anything of the sort is used to decide whether the orange "new messages" bar is triggered. My name is Mightykiko, I am a user from beyblade wiki and one of your "editors" from here, [1], entered the chat and started harrassing other users. For example, he pmed me a porn site I didn't even want, he called one of the female users a wh***, and even started picking fights with other members. What has your wiki come to :'(

I have not interacted much with that user, but he has been banned from chat here and on other wikis multiple times and under different accounts. I don't know which wiki he started with, but I'm sure users here did not train him to behave that way. Atem's Mother

Though this is not true - it's usually proved that the mother(s) always hold their child after they gave a birth to child(ren). And Atem's father is just right there in front of her (in manga page). I could guess what's in your mind was that she is not really his mother - more of nurse or babysitter, modern words. If not, then what's in your mind? VSTF

Hey, Delt. I've been editing the Borderlands wiki a bit recently, and I've come across some stuff I find troubling. I don't know what can be done about it but:

They have one admin who has such a vendetta against IP vandalism that he blocked an IP address for a full year in response to a single vandalism edit. His block log is here.

The only active bureaucrat I can find types everything in lower-case and locked every article relating to the first game in the series with the summary "Borderlands 1 Lockdown", since he thinks everyone should be focusing on the new game rather than refining that craptacular coverage of the first game. I think IPs should have the option to improve anything they want, not just new stuff. It make no goddamn sense to me.

I don't know if VSTF can do anything, but if not, maybe you can pass it along to the right people. To me, these seem to be clear violations. Thanks. Cheesedude (talk • contribs) 04:02, October 14, 2012 (UTC)

Sorry, I'm not much help. We can't use VSTF stuff to go against the local administration. You can try talking to the administrators or asking Wikia staff to talk to them. I don't have any quicker way of passing the message on to staff, unless it is a spam/vandalism problem. There's no global policies on block lengths or when it's appropriate to protect pages. So they'll most likely talk to the admins, recommend that they do things differently and explain why it's beneficial, but I doubt they will force them to change. -- Deltaneos (talk) 19:30, October 14, 2012 (UTC)

Genesis Crisis' Trivia

I just found the article being deleted three times, one of them was you... So I am curious of why you decided to dismissing that article? Is that just because that was obviously point? If so, it sound like it was an insult in the same way as if it was treated by being destroyed by the effect of "Mystical Space Typhoon" in Tip Article - It's such to be there for a show, which is of course obviously... I really should have made more use of the summary box when deleting trivia back then. When I deleted the page it said that the name might come from "Vampire Genisis" and Dark Crisis. That was 4¾ years ago and I don't remember making that exact deletion.

• I would say you are right and I disagreed with the "Genesis" part because it was obvious "Genesis" was from "Vampire Genesis" since he's the card needed for and mentioned in its effect. Like how if you know the United States Bill of Rights is for the United States of America, you don't need someone to tell you that the name "United States Bill of Rights" comes from the country, the United States.
• The part about it being named after Dark Crisis, I'm sure was wrong. "Crisis" isn't an uncommon word. It's not unlikely for two things to use it in their names. Also "Crisis" is part of the card's original Japanese name and there is no Japanese set called Dark Crisis.

The two other people who deleted it, deleted it when it said that "Vampire Genesis" appeared in the artwork. I would say that they assumed that was too obvious to need to mention it. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:42, October 15, 2012 (UTC)

Template:Switch

Hey delta, i was thinking if we can have a template in the wikia similar to this: http://reborn.wikia.com/wiki/Template:Switch. It would be ideal since some (if not most) characters have some "forms" or different identity. Possible, yes. Desirable, I'm not sure. It works on the Reborn and One Piece wikis because they have two concrete divisions; anime and manga for Reborn, pre and post timeskip for One Piece. Here it would be different for each character and some may even have more than two. In that case, I get the feeling people would start using it to introduce all kinds of arbitrary divisions. 'A bit like what one user was doing with the "partner" part of character infoboxes until we just removed that parameter.

So yeah, it's possible to set it up, but you might want to talk it over with other editors of character pages to see if they want it. You don't have to feel too put off the idea by my uncertainty. -- Deltaneos (talk) 15:53, October 21, 2012 (UTC)

The Japanese voice actors all seem to be correct. I don't know of any reliable sources for English voice actors. I think the middle names "Kenneth" and "Sebastian" are fake. I've never heard of them and the IP who added the English cast has been repeatedly blocked for inserting false information. Even if they are genuine, I wouldn't mention them in the cast list and would say "Joey" rather than "Joseph 'Joey'".

Suggestion: Extension of cards by effect properties/no duplicate results for searches

The category's of cards by effect is EXTREMELY useful, but it only covers the base/end result of the effect, not the requirements, or how the effect is applied.

For example, "Overwhelm!", "Proof of Powerlessness", and "Grave of the Super Ancient Organism" all require face up monster of a high level to activate, but as the actual resulting effect is different for each, they don't share any effect catagories. Adding some for stuff like that, or how the effect is applied (Target, all on your side of the field, all on theirs, or everything?), is another example.

A less important but still useful group of catagoeries would be a group of tags or catagoeries describing the artwork of the card. If you are building a thunder deck, it would be useful to be able to have a list of cards that feature electricity on the artwork, as beyond spell and traps, many non thunder monsters do.

Also, can there be a checkbox that makes it so during a search, you don't get the same card 9 times because each page for it (main, trivia, artwork, rulings, etc) matches the search? 98.24.14.97 (talk) 17:42, October 25, 2012 (UTC)

Dinoguy1000 was thinking about improving that section, but was unsure what people wanted. So you think there should be properties added to group cards by their costs, activation requirements and non-gameplay themes? It's all doable. I'm not sure if the last one will kick off, but I think it would be an improvement over the Billy Deck article.

There actually are checkboxes to do that, but it's quite tedious. After you search, click "Advanced" in the left column, then untick everything except "(Main)" and click search again. I'd love to set it to only search "(Main)" by default, but that might be against Wikia's terms of use. If you create an account, you're able to set it so that when you search a card name, you'll be taken directly to the card's page (assuming you spell it right), rather than have to look through the search results. Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist

So I came across Volumes 4-9 of Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist at a used bookstore recently. I just finished reading them. A few questions. There are a multitude of cards that have written names identical to the TCG, but then the characters call them something or add a title to them (examples would be randomly referring to "Summoned Skull" as "Summoned Demon" and Pegasus appending "Relinquished" with, "the Lord of Sacrifices"). Should we list those names using the "altname" parameter, just mention it on the card trivia pages, or something else?

In a similar vein, cards seem to sometimes use their written TCG lore when they couldn't. "Electro-Whip" actually had this, but Mai equipped it to "Harpie Lady" anyway. I have to assume the Japanese manga had the card with different effect. On the same note, we know that "Metalmorph" was "Magic Metal Force", but Keith still called it "Metalmorph".

I'm going to try to get some chapter articles up for the chapters I have access to that we don't have. For cards like "Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon", "Clown Zombie", what procedure are we using? The manga really seems to imply they don't exist as cards, so we list them in "other monsters" in {{Decklist}}, right? Ritual Monsters seem to not actually be cards either. "Kuriboh" and "Feral Imp" together were used for "Black Luster Ritual", with "Gaia" seeming to be the one to actually perform the ritual and become "Black Luster Soldier". Similarly, "Jigen Bakudan" and "Winged Dragon" were sacrifices, with "Dark Magician" turning into "Magician of Black Chaos". On the other hand, "Relinquished" was different. "Dark-Eyes Illusionist" and random unnamed thingy were sacrificed, but there was no "performer" for the ritual. "Relinquished" just appeared. Regardless, none of them seemed to be cards.

"Blue-Eyes Ultimate Dragon" also seemed to not be a card, though I'm not sure if that was due to the Duel Disk Expert Rules or not. I can't check either, the volumes I have had no other Fusion Summons. Cheesedude (talk • contribs) 03:18, October 26, 2012 (UTC)

• Something the characters call them that isn't actually printed on the card. I think it's a mixture of Viz wanting to use the TCG names for cards, while also trying to use something close to the Japanese names. I put a few of those from the English manga and Singaporean dub in the Card Names pages, e.g. Card Names:Nuvia the Wicked and Card Names:The Snake Hair, but sorta stopped because I'm not too fond of that namespace.
• Their lore for "Electro-Whip" surprising might be more accurate than one would think. There are some abandoned and rarely referenced early rules. Monsters were split into Monsters and Magic-Users. Monsters had particular elements, which had strengths and weaknesses against each other; Earth > Thunder (sometimes called Lightning) > Water > Fire > Wood > Wind > Earth. Magic-Users were also sub-divided; Black Magic > White Magic > Demon Magic > Illusion Magic > Black Magic. Wind isn't mentioned in the manga and only some of the strengths and weakness are explained. The rest come from video games. In Duelist chapter 4, they explain that each terrain strengthens a particular element; Ocean: Water, Grassland: Fire, Mountains: Lightning, Wasteland: Earth, Forest: Wood. You can see the Duel Monsters article for more information. Since "Harpy Lady" was strengthened by the Mountains, we could assume that her element is Lightning aka Thunder. I can upload a Japanese manga image of "Electro-Whip" and see if I can transcribe it into Google translate.
  • To refer to your original point, they do often use TCG lores rather than manga ones. In which case, I just ignore them and use a translation of the Japanese manga lore.
• Keith actually used "Metalmorph" (Metallizing Magic Reflection Armor) in the Japanese manga. I think the Japanese anime replaces a lot of the cards, whose effects were changed in the OCG, with similar stuff to avoid confusion (irony?), while the dub usually uses the names from the manga and OCG/TCG. I think you know all the examples; "Mystical Moon" → "Full Moon", "Nightmare Wheel" → "Scratch Wheel" etc. and arguably "Electro-Whip" → "Rose Whip".
• When using {{Decklist}} for manga Decks, I've avoided splitting monsters into Normal and Effect at least before Battle City, because it's too unclear at times as to whether something is an effect or a weird rule. For Fusion Monsters, Ritual Monsters and stuff like "Red-Eyes Black Metal Dragon", I've sometimes just added "(not an actual card)" after the name. I proposed adding a parameter for them; Template talk:Decklist#Not quite cards, but couldn't think of a decent name.
• You mean "Griffor", rather than "Feral Imp"? That Ritual thing was inconsistent alright. Although the Japanese lore for "Black Illusion Ritual" is different than the English one. I think it says something along the lines of "a monster with (more than/less than/exactly) 100 ATK" for the sacrifice in contrast to the English manga, which says "two monsters". This could mean that "Dark Eyes Illusionist" was the monster the Ritual was performed on, while the other was the sacrifice, making it consistent with Dark Yugi's two Ritual Summons. To speculate for a minute, if you look at the artwork for "Black Luster Soldier" and "Black Magic Ritual" there's a centre stage for the the monster the ritual is performed on and two containers for the sacrifices. In "Black Illusion Ritual", there's two containers for sacrifices and rather than centre stage for the monster the ritual is performed on, the content of the two containers is being sucked into another container... I'll just upload the Japanese image.
• Mmm, I don't think any of the Fusion Monsters in the manga prior to GX were actual cards. As strange as the Expert Rules were, I don't think think they would ditch the existence of Fusion Monster Cards in favour of keeping all the Fusion Material on the field. Also the Solid Vision hologram for "Black Skull Dragon" appeared above two cards, presumably "Summoned Skull" and "Red-Eyes Black Dragon", rather than one. -- Deltaneos (talk) 12:49, October 26, 2012 (UTC)

That's fair, just using "monsters" seems fine. Would "transformed" monsters work? I think that would encompass most of the cases - rituals, "Metalmorph", Zombies, Toons, etc.

Yeah, I meant "Griffor". That lore would make much more sense, but it doesn't help that the ritual itself doesn't seem to be shown unlike the other two. "Relinquished" just kind of appears. That's pretty consistent with your card art speculation too.

That Duel was very odd. BEUD counted as four cards, "Polymerization" was kept face-up on his Disk with the BEWDs. He had "Negate Attack" and couldn't draw anything else.

"Transformed" sounds alright, but I wonder about "Harpy Lady Sisters", which was two cards out of nowhere rather than a transformation and "Mystical Beast Selket", which I think came out of nowhere. For appearances in Card articles, do we need to have both the Japanese and English? "Spell Shattering Arrow" currently lists the Japanese chapter number. Should that be changed to the English numbers using "manga_d" or should that be added in addition to it and Yu-Gi-Oh! - Duel 104 be redirected to Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist - Duel 045? Okay, I've managed to tackle the lore for "Electro-Whip" and it means something like "Specified monster's offense power goes up by 300.". So yeah, nothing to do with Thunder monsters.

I'd say just use the Duelist number. Same with Millennium World. If necessary, we can get the templates to add 59 and 258 to add the original number in brackets afterwards.

Hey, Delt, I created a manga section at Maximillion Pegasus' Decks and changed the one at Joey Wheeler's Decks a bit. Can you check to see if I've messed anything up or missed anything. I don't have Pegasus' first Duel against Yugi for the manga, so I'm not sure if there were any other additions there. Also, what was "Wattkid" called in the manga (I have to assume it wasn't called "Wattkid", but I don't know for sure it was "Oscillo Hero #2". You got all of them and yeah, it's "Oscillo Hero #2". "Eye of Illusion" also had a different name, "Eye of Deception". Hi Delta. The infobox on my userpage has gone all funny. It used to start at the top of the page and span down the side of the "About" section, but now it stays above it, and it looks unsightly with all the empty white space. For this year, I have about six ranges, with only one recent one. I've been using Special:RecentChanges?hidelogs=1&limit=5000&hideliu=1 and Ctrl+F, but since it takes a rather long time to load and doesn't go back too far, I was looking for alternate methods.

IgorThunderMaster

He appears to be using his mover powers to delete redirects he doesn't like - by moving a page to the redirected title, then moving it back to the right title and suppressing the redirect. This is troubling, as other than that, he makes great use of his mover powers - I often leave stuff unmoved because I know he'll get to it soon enough. He is indeed a great mover. As soon as I saw he had learned how to suppress redirects I set him to work on the unused images, and he's put a huge dent in them already. I hadn't noticed he was using his ability to remove redirects, though. He did seem to have issues with some of them in the past, despite numerous people telling him to leave them be. Loops in wikia js

I tried the same simple loop (your first edit) and I too find that it apparently does not work. I eventually got it working by using (var i = 0, row; row = rows[i]; i++), something that I am totally not used to seeing, but it apparently works (See the "See hidden rows" section of my monobook.js) -Falzar FZ- (talk page|useful stuff) 13:27, November 2, 2012 (UTC)

Tears of a Mermaid

I know this was four years ago, but you added that it appears in Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist - Duel 007. I don't have that chapter, but our article on it makes no mention of it and I don't see why it would have appeared there; it was Yugi's Duel with Haga. Was this a mistake or does it actually appear? I assume you are referring to this edit. At the time, I thought I was changing the Japanese Yu-Gi-Oh! number to the English Yu-Gi-Oh! Duelist number, by subtracting 59. Really, I think all the monster ka should have character articles, but instead of those articles using card tables, not in addition to them, unless of course they have a card. I don't think that "Diabound (character)" page should have been created. Attack on other Wikis

Hello Delta, it has come to my attention that some members of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Wikia are coordinating attacks against other Wikis, namely the Bleach Wikia is one of their victims, the members involved are as follows:

I don't mean to be rude, but don't insinuate that they're "members of the Yu-Gi-Oh! Well, they actively duel other players setting up matches in the chat and talk in the chat to other members on a regular basis everyday, they've also set up their own Yu-Gi-Oh! Here are some related discussions: Forum:Related videos module coming soon, Forum:Related Videos, Talk:Main Page#Videos. There has been talk of disabling the module.

The videos Wikia have put in the module are old; mostly 8-10 year old commercials for VHS and DVDs. They're not exactly a popular topic. But I see your point; if we put videos in that module, a lot of people will click on them. If we added those videos to pages, people may discover articles that they haven't been to before and we get more page views.

Most videos users have added themselves have been deleted because they were copyright violations, irrelevant to this site, disabled from embedding or deleted from YouTube after they were added here. Going through them can be a pain. There are a few which haven't been deleted and I can't think of many Yu-Gi-Oh! videos that can be used here without breaking copyright laws.

I'm not really a fan of adding videos to articles, unless they add some sort of encyclopedic value. Do you know if there are any usage statistics for wikis that show related videos result in a significant increase in article page views? That might be a reason to give them a chance.

Also, do you know if there are any plans for Wikia using HTML5 videos in the hopefully not-too-distant future? I think it would be much easier to handle stuff that's uploaded locally.

Creating the page, shouldn't mean I have absolute control of its faith. Do you have any opinion on what should be done? I know about Dinoguy's addition; I had asked him to check that card when we were comparing Shonen Jump and the tankōbon. He suggested trying to contact Anita Sengupta, the English translator for that particular chapter. I'm not sure if that's a possibility though. "Giant Soldier of Stone" appears later in the manga and I just assumed that it having a different artwork and name in the Japanese version meant it was a different card. But then again "Summoned Skull" appeared in the same scene with a different Japanese name than its later appearance; "デーモン" (Dēmon) instead of "デーモンの召喚" (Dēmon no Shōkan). Confirmation about Toon Monsters

I know this was a long time ago, but I finally concluded that I have figured out this discrepancy(especially after you removed the edit I made on the "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" page). I can just assume that Toon Monsters can dodge or counter attacks that are thrown at them depending on what the player chooses to. Pegasus had his "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon" dodge the attack of "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" because he wanted to show Kaiba why attacking his Toon Monsters with his own monsters will not work(in reality, Kaiba's "Blue-Eyes" would have been destroyed since it had the same ATK as "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon", but monsters literally dodging attacks might be a different story). In the case with "Toon Mermaid" and "Celtic Guardian", it was just to show Yugi that his reckless attacks will not work against Toon Monsters(Even though "Celtic Guardian" and "Toon Mermaid" had the same ATK, the former was destroyed because it wasn't a Toon)Cardsknower (talk • contribs) 04:10, December 4, 2012 (UTC)Cardsknower

Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon dodged the attack, which defined as not "hit" the monster while Toon Mermaid closed her clam shut and allowed the sword to strick on it - which made it counting as hit. Remember the duel between Yami Yugi and Seto as the latter required 5 more stars to entering the castle; Kuriboh populated the field to protecting Yami Yugi and his Celtic Guardian. That's how Celtic Guardian was never damaging until Yugi took over and ordered him to stop, just in middle of his lunge attack that ended just outside the surrounding of Kuriboh Tokens. So yes, "dodge" is complete different story therefore Blue-Eyes White Dragon is a Normal Monster with absolute no effect. "Blue-Eye Toon Dragon" is just literally small size compare to the original form. --iFredCat 10:08, December 4, 2012 (UTC)

Wasn't that spell called "Binding Illusion"? Personally, I don't see why images of anime/manga scenes that aren't cards/slabs need to follow the same naming pattern as cards. I would have just called it something descriptive of the event, but if you're insistent on using an -NC filename, I'd go with BindingIllusion-EN-Anime-DM-NC.jpg.

"Cannot be destroyed by battle, except" VS "Can only be destroyed by battle with"

I'm not sure which one you were in favor with, but after I started editing their lores, I looked at the Japanese lores, and decided to start my way from the 1st Number in numerical sequence. I also decided to directly adapt them after their wording, which is something like "Cannot be destroyed by battle with a monster with a name other than 'Number'." I think earlier before, I tried to say (before the PSCT was reworked again) that "This card cannot be destroyed by battle with non-'Number' monsters." However, the wording was shortly changed afterwards (I don't know who), and so now I think I will present the lore as "Cannot be destroyed by battle except with 'Number' monsters." The other day, I stopped reworking the lores after I reached "Number 22", but am going to revise all the anime ones. Some of the manga lores may be standardized in PSCT lore too, depending on whether or not the English manga translations have already been placed on their pages. --UltimateKuriboh (talk • contribs) 16:36, December 7, 2012 (UTC)

about new template

UltimateKuriboh told me adminstrators are trying to create a template in your sandbox. Well me and UltimateKuriboh have been conversing over what to do with the parts of cards that appear in the anime that aren't written in the lore. He said my suggestion has a flaw in it(If I write two separate anime lores involving the written one and the anime used one, new users will try and create their own separate anime lores for other cards which was not what the wiki is for). It's possible to add that functionality, but there's not much the templates can do about the flaw you've mentioned. When it's appropriate to add the second lore and what the second lore should be are things that can only really be looked at case-by-case. Card search categories

This problem was first was notice by UltimateKuriboh, when he was editing the "Amazoness Arena" and "Amazoness Trainer" pages. The link in the card search categories wasn't working and he try to fix it, but it didn't work. I notice this problem is spreading to other cards that have Monster/Spell/Trap categories, Summoning categories, Stat change categories, and Life Points categories. It wasn't those particular cards, but yes, I tried to fix the problem with a certain card page (which was about 2-7 days ago). I would just guess that the "trait" passed through the generation of Kaiba until they hit Seto and recreated his look in the same way as Priest Seto did. Notes before References?

I've understood notes to be additional explanation, which is too messy to put directly in the article, while references are source material. Following that definition, the notes seemed closer to being part of the content than the references. It's also theoretically possible that a note could need a reference, which would ideally come after it. I think they changed the attribute and added rarities separately, so it's another extra 2 sets, not 1. Also getting images for them all would be hard as they are not available any more.

They said Unfortunately, we found that the extension was quite heavily orientated around the way Wikipedia works (with lots of warnings and rules expected), meaning it would require a fair bit of work to adapt. For the erratas I mentioned in my last post above, following what is usually done, it would be CardName-BAM-EN-VG-2.png but it wouldn't really make sense, since CardName-BAM-EN-VG.png comes after 2 and swapping them around would make the auto image adding on the card table not work so swapping them shouldn't be done there. Maybe I'll upload them to CardName-BAM-EN-VG-PreviousErrata.png.

Appending ?uselang=qqx to URLs, replaces text with the names of their MediaWiki messages in brackets. In this case "(uploadtext)". There's not, due to the way wiki software works. The "#" is a shorthand command. If you type in an article name, then "#", then a section name in that article, it will take you straight to that section. So the system interprets a search for "Luster Dragon #2" as "take me the section called "2" in the "Luster Dragon" article." On the plus side, it's a useful thing to use at times. BAM Acquisition

Seeing you working on the BAM Acquisition stuff gave me a thought: why don't we incorporate the set info stuff directly into the table for other media? That way, we reduce the tab overhead by one set of tabs, and the set info is right there when someone's looking at the info for a given language/region release of a given version of a card. If we go this route, I'm thinking the best presentation would probably be in a separate cell at the bottom of the table, spanning both columns of the table; I can whip up a quick sandbox example if you want. 「ディノ奴千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 23:09, January 2, 2013 (UTC)

Putting the set information directly into the card table? The sets table would only be 434px wide in that case. It would be very squashed for five columns; "Release", "Number", "Set", "Language name" and "Rarity". Putting the sets outside the table was to fix one of the problems with CardTable2, where we have a lot of stuff squashed in the right column, while the left column is completely empty after a point.

Putting the sets below the table, but inside the first set of tabs was done in an earlier draft. I wasn't too keen on needing to change the language of the card to see what sets it was printed in in that language and I thought it made it less obvious that there were more different sets in other languages. That's why the Japanese sets are also in the English tab on that example; they were too important to be missed and no sets would be shown if the card had only been released in Japanese. You can replace the instances of "#000" in your current signature with any of the following for a shade of grey.

I think that's all the three character pure grey shades. You can find more six character colour codes at wikipedia:Variations of gray. "Drake"

Typing in "Drake" in the search box leads the (smart function?) to pull up "Duos Dragon". How does that relate to it? I was expecting to find "Kurama", which doesn't even appear on the "smart function." The smart function is the autocomplete, I assume? Currently, the only pages on the wiki beginning with "Drake" are "Drake Knight" and "Drake Knight Duos Dragon". The autocomplete in the default skin gives you the name of the redirect target instead of the redirect itself. Creating "Drake" as a redirect to "Kurama" should fix your problem.

In the early sets, there wasn't an awful lot of consistency in how Japanese cards got renamed in the English version. This is my best guess, which could be totally wrong; One thing they seemed to like doing is if a card's Japanese name uses English words, they would get the English name to use Japanese words. e.g. "Hitotsu-Me Giant" and "Raigeki". This card is a bird. Its Japanese name "Drake" seems to come from the English word "drake", which among other things means male duck, a bird. "Kurama" seems to come from Mount Kurama, a mountain in Japan, associated with tengu, mythological birds. -- Deltaneos (talk) 20:22, January 8, 2013 (UTC)

That one is a CSS issue. Is it happening every time you view a page or just some times? It looks like something is stopping MediaWiki:Anime-common.css, MediaWiki:Wikipedia.css and MediaWiki:Cardtable.css being applied on those pages. It might be stopping all custom CSS. Master Guide

When you can, could you make this page please? I assume it's on your to-do list, since you are making your way through these promo cards. I specifically ask this because there is a card storyline section that is given in the book, and I would like to make a page entitled "Master Guide 3/Card Storylines".
But this brings up another question: When providing a source/reference, should I cite the website where the translation came from, or not? I'm a bit iffy, since I'm worried about potential copyright issues, but I also want to show the readers that there is a verified source of the Japanese text (along with the English translation). Depending on how long the storyline information is, personally I'd either put the card storylines in a == Section == on a Master Guide 3 article or create a Master Guide 3 card storylines page. I'm not too fond of using subpages in the mainspace.

Normally, posting a translation of something without the original author's permission is copyright violation. But I'm not sure if that's the case this time. The translations I've seen online don't seem to bad. I'm not sure if they're word-for-word-ish or just the raw facts pulled out of paragraphs of text. You can't copyright facts, but you can copyright the way that they're presented. "Pikeru and Curran are twin sisters. Curran is the elder. Pikeru is the younger." are three facts. The way they've been presented is too basic for anyone to claim a copyright on. Penalty Game

I think we should put Kaiba's and Yagumo's Penalty Games in a separate section. The Penalty Games originally are executed by a Millennium Item holder, as far as I know (which sorta involves mystical powers and stuff). Kaiba's "Penalty Game" was an illusion produced by a machine, and Yagumo's was putting a spider into a guy heart (how? no idea). The Gospel of Truth has a section on Penalty Games, including a list of people who have performed them. Kaiba is in the list, but has a darker background in his profile, which uses white-on-black text, while the others use black-on-white text. I assume this is because he was not a Millennium Item holder and his Penalty Games were artificial. The punishments that 777, Kokurano, Goro, the Junky Scorpion owner, Hirutani's gang, Thugs A, B and C and Mokuba received all appear in the book's list of Penalty Games, so genuine Penalty Games don't necessarily involve mystical powers. But doesn't the fact that it was the only one written in white with a black background make it different from the others? The genuine Penalty Games are supernatural as far as I know. In the same way Titan, for example, used hypnosis and stuff to make a fake Shadow Game, Kaiba uses his richie powers to make an illusion with a machine, to sorta mimic the Penalty Game (if I'm not mistaken Yugi had used that vision of death on him previously, and he just mimicked it). I'm not saying that his isn't a Penalty Game, but his is artificial, different from the supernatural ones used by the Millennium Items holders. Comparing the "ho" (ホ) and "bo" (ボ) in the Astral name for "Utopia", it looks like the katakana is shrunk vertically, but keeps its horizontal width, before it's given its dakuten. MediaWiki doesn't seem to let you adjust the width and height of an image disproportionality, at least not without using external CSS.

Thanks for the great feedback with what I did. I sure as hell DON'T think you're being a pain at all regarding this--these copyright Nazis that satiate our free world are getting on my nerves (I know how this feels--I had to cancel THREE YouTube accounts over this past summer because a couple of FAN-MADE Anime Music Videos (AMVs) that I made for FUN were blocked due to said grounds being violated. I can't help it that I have that much of a LOVE for the series. It makes me wonder if TvTokyo is as anal about their material as Disney is about their stuff!!? >;[ )

Anyway, I just wanted to vent about that because it's just a shame. Other than that though, if abridging the audio tracks to <=30 seconds long is how it has to be on this Wikia, then I don't mean to seem lazy but as a senior college student with a lot of things I need to do, I'm formulating this in my head and I think that doing this for the hundreds of more tracks to go may be pretty time-consuming for me, especially since it seems that given that the audio tracks for the Sound Duels tracks pages is still pretty incomplete, it seems that not a lot of the users on this page has a lot of the tracks themselves.

To make the above discourse shorter and simpler, is there a way that I can email, upload or import a folder, containing all the .ogg Sound Duel files I have so that way, another user who has MUCH more time on their hands can access, download and shorten them? In my opinion, I don't think I'm the best person to tediously cut every audio file down. I apologize for a request like this but if this Copyright Nazi manner didn't apply here, I'd still be going onwards and upwards with the Sound Duel-related pages and .oggs.

I noticed. A number of the images just disappeared. Their file pages still exist, but the image has disappeared from them. e.g. File:Symbol-Astral-ru.svg. Thanks, Yu-Gi-Oh! Wiki has always been the definitive Yu-Gi-Oh! resource for the fans, so I try to help out wherever I can. And here's the new image, I'll try to the the same with some of the other logos.

Also, there's a few options for the suggested cards. One is that the paper itselft could just be scanned. Another option is that a table could be made, similar to that of the setlists. Data to be considered is name, booster pack, and quantity. I'm not sure what the problem you're pointing to here is. If it's about {{OCG-TCG card image}} complaining the name is wrong, that's a shortcoming of the template that basically requires me to rewrite it from the ground up (which I've been intending to do for a couple months or longer, anyways). It is indeed about the template saying the name is wrong. Several times Igor's renamed pages trying to rectify this, but I always move them back since the cards are secondary to the sets/characters/archetypes.

Currently, the documentation for CMC, Early DM, and Labyrinth Battle Game is obsolete (and, following my removal of the relevant code for these games from the template proper, incorrect).

On a related note, which pages would we want to add {{Monster World figure}} to? The pages currently using {{CardTable2}} are a given, but what about those formatted as character articles? 「ディノ奴千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 21:17, February 24, 2013 (UTC)

Delete them I suppose, or redirect them back to Template:CardTable2 if you think they're worth keeping for historical significance. The page histories aren't very long. I don't think those pages were ever especially helpful to anyone or will serve any use in the future.

I knew this was going to come up eventually and I haven't been looking forward to it. There are a few problems with Monster World:

• Like with the Dragon Cards, the Monster World pieces not using CardTable2, have little or no stats. There's not a lot we can put in tabular format. Many of them need paragraph-based articles. Two articles on minor things for a small difference, I'm not keen on. Tabular bit as a subsection? Maybe. Much different than putting the info in an infobox? Not really.
• The few that have stats get them from the Monster World Battle Game at the end of Volume 6. They are Goblin, Dragon, Gargoyle and Zorc. All they are given are HP and a special attack. I'm not-so-sure those HP values correspond to the HP they had in the manga. And the Monster World Battle Game has different rules than the Monster World game we see in the manga. Separate tables for Monster World and Monster World Battle Game versions of figures? The only two where this would be applied are the goblin and Zorc. We know the goblin's Level in the manga and HP and special ability in the Battle Game. We know Zorc's Level, HP, but not full HP and a few of his abilities in the manga. We know his HP and special ability in the battle game. Not much justification for two tables there. I'm not sure if there's even justification for one. If Pao and Dragon are the same, they're the same story as the goblin.
• Monster Capsule GB seems to be a mixture of Monster World and Capsule Monster Chess. It probably has the most comprehensive version of Monster World. But I know very little about that game.

I've been waffling between "redirect" and "delete"... but as you said, there's not much there that would actually be especially useful or historically significant, so deletion it is, I guess.

In that case, do we even want a Monster World piece/figure template, then? We could just have a wikitable table for the few cases where we have actual stats, and let the prose and infobox handle the rest, with a hard-coded List of Monster World figures for the overview. This would allow us to most easily cover the differences between Monster World and MWBG, with the least overhead.

I noticed MCGB listed on one or two of the MW figures I looked at. The more I see, the more this game intrigues me. According to an unfinished English translation patch I just found, the game features 125 figures, including one of each of Yugi, Yami, Joey, Tristan, Tea, and Bakura, and other stuff I found confirms my suspicions that individual figures can be leveled up, apparently up to a maximum of level 50. I didn't see anything about figures' stats, though, so I guess I'll just have to download a ROM and track stats for a while to see if there're any patterns, or if it all just looks random, but I did see that figures have different move and attack patterns, and the varieties look pretty free-form. All told, this actually looks like a game with a fair bit of depth, which I was not expecting; user ratings in various places also seem to be pretty good. 「ディノ奴千？！」^{? · ☎ Dinoguy1000} 01:41, February 25, 2013 (UTC)

Advanced Ruling Error

In Activation & Targeting Eligibility, this user has pointing out that Lord of D. must be face-up on the field to activate and to resolve the effect of The Flute of Summoning Dragon. That line you put up as Example #1 is currently wrong because he figured it out. At least I would let you know the reason why I am posting this comment. Yeah, you guys are right, as far as I can tell. Upper Deck Entertainment once said that "Lord of D." only needed to be face-up on the field at the time of activation for "The Flute of Summoning Dragon" to resolve. When you say you don't know where to put it, do you mean you don't know what filename to upload it under or you don't know what pages it could be added to?

• The usual standard for naming a card that appears in a different way is to use the file name the card would use, then add something to the end, descriptive of what it is. Jinzo-JP-Anime-ZX-MC.png, Jinzo-JP-Anime-ZX-Cafe.png, Jinzo-JP-Anime-ZX-Logo.png or something that effect. You might have a better of idea of what would be most fitting.
• I don't think you meant the other option, but anyway, the images could go in the cards' galleries and possibly an article on the Monster Cafe.

Other "Template" Request

I am here again only because I am actually asking for "Decklist" template. It's not look like Yu-Gi-Oh! decklist, but it's more of... Magic the Gathering version, you know? I went with one that you and Dinoguy had been often editing and locked up (to prevent the frame-killer) on. I just need to know something first; You have parameters for "creature", the different coloured creatures, "artifact", "enchantment", "instant", "sorcery" and "land". Which of these do you want to have their own sections and which ones go in the same section? All creatures with their colors would goin' with Artifact in same article... er, section, while Enchantment, Instant and Sorcery in next section since they are treated as Spell (since Spell Card article had organizing (organising in your word) Normal, Quick, Equip, Continuous, etc.) and I would put all Lands in the third sections, treating them like a Trap group. That's how I was tried to building - but I screwed the "code" up.

Cool, nice work. Added the infobox and listing. The arc covers a few different things; Ghost, Duel Academy stuff, Crash Town and the intro to the WRGP, so it is difficult to pick an image. There were 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a hangout room. In each of the bedrooms there were 2 beds. The third floor had 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, and a girl's themed hangout room. 2 of the 3 bedrooms only had one bed while one of them had 2. Korra has a pet polar bear dog named Naga. She slept in Korra's room and she would growl at anyone to threaten her master. The story of Korra's adventure to another world shall be told soon.

Spellbinding Circle

Actually, it's not the same thing. "Jubaku" has been translated as "curse" in "Curse of the Circle". Also, "Spellbinding" is a misinterpretation of what "jubaku" is. 'Ju' means 'spell', and 'baku' means 'bind'. However, this is generally used to refer to a curse or spell. I've wondered about this before. The previews are copyrighted, but people may argue that they're advertisements, so posting them in more places is helping. But I think, technically, only copyright holders can choose where their work can be posted and other people can't make that decision without their consent, even if they think it's beneficial. Realistically, I don't think NAS, TV Tokyo, 4Kids etc. would mind (not positive though). IP-Addressed User edits with no comments

Over at the Gusto page, I keep seeing the Hurricane Tyranno deck suggestion (which is a Daigusto Sphreeze OTK variant) repeatedly being deleted by an IP-Addressed User in the 118.137.x.x range with no comments as to why. FredCat100 called them on it once and I've done so again asking for at least an explanation for the deletion, but it keeps happening. If the deck is bad, then sure I can understand the deletion. But no other deck is touched and no reason is ever given.

I wouldn't say they're necessarily wrong in removing it, but they should really be giving a reason.

I would suggest asking them on their talk page why they keep removing it, but you've already tried that. And since their IP keeps changing, we don't know if they'll read it. You can add a hidden text notice somewhere in the code that will be visible to someone about to remove the section. Something like <!-- Please don't remove this section without explaining why. -->

I personally think we need to be stricter about Deck type submissions in the article space. But I don't see why they're singling that particular one out. -- Deltaneos (talk) 23:39, April 28, 2013 (UTC)
