Revision as of 22:01, 26 February 2024
It has been suggested that this article be renamed to The☆Luge. (discuss) The reason given was: No indication he is a reference to Lugh the mythological figure. The phonetic shift from ku to gu in his name is a common Japanese pun for imposter/doppelganger names. Additionally, luge is an ice sport, fitting with his visual theming. |

Appearance
The☆Lugh resembles Lucidien "Luke" Kallister from Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS. He is a blue-skinned young man with blue skin and hair resembling Luke's, but the points are shaped like icicles rather than gear spokes. He wears regal and heavy winter clothing due to the cold climate of his ship: wrinkled purple underclothes with a high collar, a dark blue sleeveless surcoat patterned with his insignia in black at the bottom and bound at the waist with a black sash, heavy black gloves and boots, and a heavy black cape with a teal inner layer, attached to his shoulders by black pauldrons and fastened over the chest with a silver section in the shaped of a "U" and a "V" layered and a blue gem atop them. The cape also has several large black feathers arranged behind The☆Lugh and fastened at the small of his back with a diamond-shaped blue gem.
In the second season, The☆Lugh assumes the form of a massage chair through unknown means. His body and seat cushion are patterned after his dark blue robe with five black marks at his feet, and his silver section is attached to the purple back cushion based on his undershirt, which has his elaborate black feathers in a more concentrated pattern at the back. The☆Lugh's face is at the head of the back cushion, with his braid emerging from the back cushion. The chair has a silver wheel at the right side and twin massage wheels attached to tracks in the back cushion.
Personality
Contrary to his intimidating title, The☆Lugh is generally calm and friendly, though his reactions are subdued owing to the danger of his initial inability to properly process them. Though his actions are ultimately misguided, they are done with good intentions, as he offered games to the people of Pawtner and founded the Friendship Rush Duel Tournament out of genuine altruism and shows people his Mr. Universe manuscript with the desire to cheer them up after a loss.
However The☆Lugh is tremendously ignorant as to the danger he and his abilities pose, as he does not seem to understand that his own manuscript freezes those who view it solid, nor that it is regarded as incredibly boring due to its refinement into the more well-known series known throughout the universe. When Zuwijo zir Velgear deliberately insults Mr. Universe in The☆Lugh's presence, he reacts poorly to the thought of his work being considered boring. After his loss to Yudias Velgear and Yuga Ohdo he is able to learn to endure the negativity and soldier on.
Abilities
The☆Lugh is a focal point of Negative Energy in the universe, embodying concepts of boredom and mediocrity. Through his power, his original manuscript of Mr. Universe is regarded as so boring that viewing it freezes anyone who beholds it, including The☆Lugh himself, effects that can be nullified by positive energy.
When The☆Lugh's emotions spiral out of control he releases waves of negative energy that can freeze onlookers and temporarily eliminate objects and people associated or suffused with positive energy, though significant exposure is required to affect the latter.
The☆Lugh is also capable of dividing himself in two for a Tag Duel.
Voice/Mannerisms
The☆Lugh speaks in Hokkaido dialect, Japan's coldest region. He also tends to end his sentences with "or not?", in Rush Duels asking his opponent if the timing to activate one of his cards is correct due to his start as a beginner and getting a hang of the rules.
Deck
The☆Lugh uses an ice-themed Dragon Deck, heavily focused on Normal Monsters that are supported through the "The" series of cards. His Ace Monster, "The Dragias", is a parody of "Multistrike Dragon Dragias"; therefore, The☆Lugh uses a combination of cards and effects to Summon two copies of it to the field as a reference to the original Dragias's effect of attacking twice.
