9300: Is discarding from your hand an activation cost for "The Fabled Chawa"?
- The text "discard 1 "Fabled" monster" of "The Fabled Nozoochee" and "The Fabled Chawa" is an effect. It it not a cost to activate the effect.
- If the opponent activates the effect of a Continuous Spell or Trap Card which is already face-up on the field while the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is active, then the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" will negate its effect and destroy it.
- If the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is active and the effect of a Continuous Spell or Trap Card like "Level Limit - Area B" or "Gravity Bind" is also active, then the effect of the Spell or Trap Card will remain active and will not be negated.
- The effect of "The Fabled Unicore" which negates the activation of a monster's effect and destroys the monster will also negate the effect of "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" which activates in the hand, so that the effect is negated and the "Gorz the Emissary of Darkness" in the hand is destroyed.
- The effect of "The Fabled Unicore" will also negate the effect of "Sangan" which activates in the Graveyard, the effect of "D.D. Survivor" which activates in the place to where cards are removed from play, and the effect of "Serpentine Princess" which activates in the Deck. However, "Sangan", "D.D. Survivor", and "Serpentine Princess" will not be destroyed, since they are in the Graveyard, the place to where cards are removed from play, and the Deck.
- The effect of "The Fabled Unicore" will also negate the effect of "Elemental HERO Absolute Zero" which activates in the Extra Deck. The "Elemental HERO Absolute Zero" in the Extra Deck will be destroyed and sent to the Graveyard.
- When "Jurrac Stauriko" is destroyed by battle, you may activate the effect of "Jurrac Herra" in Chain to the effect of "Jurrac Stauriko" which Special Summons the "Jurrac Tokens".
- For the effect of "The Fabled Unicore", if both players have the same number of cards when the effect of a Spell Card, a Trap Card, or an Effect Monster Card is resolving, then that activated effect is negated. Suppose you control "The Fabled Unicore":
- If both players have five cards in their hands and afterwards the opponent activates a Normal Spell Card, then when resolving the effect of the Spell Card the opponent only has four cards in his hand and you have five, so the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is not applied and the effect of the opponent's Spell Card is not negated.
- If you have five cards in your hand and the opponent has six cards in his hand, and afterwards the opponent activates "Divine Wrath" or the effect of "Honest", then when resolving the effect of "Divine Wrath" or "Honest" both players have five cards in their hands, so the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is applied and the effect of "Divine Wrath" or "Honest" is negated.
- If you have zero cards in your hand and the opponent has five cards in his hand, and afterwards the opponent activates "Beckoning Light", then the opponent's hand size becomes zero in the middle of resolving the effect of "Beckoning Light", so the effect of "The Fabled Unicore" is not applied and the effect of "Beckoning Light" is not negated.
- If "The Fabled Cerburrel", "Fabled Lurrie", "Fabled Krus", "The Fabled Catsith", or "The Fabled Ganashia" is discarded from the hand to the Graveyard as a cost, then its effect does not miss the timing, and will activate after the current Chain fully resolves.
9306: Effect Mosnter > Darklord Desire
- The text "This card cannot be Special Summoned." and "This card can be Tribute Summoned by Tributing 1 Fairy-Type monster." of "Darklord Desire" are not treated as the effects of an Effect Monster.
- The effect of "Darklord Desire" targets one monster your opponent controls.
- For the effect of "Darklord Desire" which decreases its ATK, the ATK of "Darklord Desire" remains reduced as long as "Darklord Desire" remains face-up on the field.
9307: Trap Card > Tuner's Barrier
- The effect of "Tuner's Barrier" targets one face-up Tuner monster you control.
- "Tuner's Barrier" cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
9308: Trap Card > Scrubbed Raid
- Sending one other card you control to the Graveyard is a cost to activate the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" which ends the Battle Phase.
- You can neither activate "Scrubbed Raid" nor activate the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" during the Damage Step.
- The effect "end the Battle Phase" of "Scrubbed Raid" moves the game forward to the End Step of the Battle Phase.
9309: Effect Monster > Junk Archer
- The effect of "Junk Archer" targets one monster your opponent controls.
- "Junk Archer" has one effect which also returns the removed from play monster to the field in the same Battle Position during the End Phase.
- It does not start a Chain Link when the monster removed from play by effect of "Junk Archer" returns during the End Phase.
1X[edit]
9310: Effect Monster > Eccentric Boy
- The text "If this card is used as a Synchro Material Monster, the other Synchro Material Monsters must be 1 monster in your hand." of "Eccentric Boy" is not treated as the effect of an Effect Monster.
9311: Effect Monster > Gauntlet Warrior
- Tributing "Gauntlet Warrior" is a cost to activate its effect.
- The effect of "Gauntlet Warrior" to increase the ATK of all Warrior-Type monsters can also be activated during the Damage Step.
9312: [Damage Step] Can "Tuner's Barrier" be activated during the Damage Step?
- "Tuner's Barrier" cannot be activated during the Damage Step.
9313: The effect of "Gauntlet Warrior" which increases ATK and DEF is applied for how long?
- The +500 to ATK and DEF from the effect of "Gauntlet Warrior" lasts until the affect monsters battles. If an affected monster does not battle during the turn in which the effect of "Gauntlet Warrior" was activated, then the increase to ATK and DEF remains during subsequent turns.
- If a monster affected by the effect of "Gauntlet Warrior" is no longer face-up on the field, then the monster is no longer affected.
- If you use "Eccentric Boy" and a monster in your hand as Synchro Material Monsters and the monster in your hand's Level has been changed by an effect like "Cost Down", then you use the monster's current, altered Level when performing the Synchro Summon.
9315: [Damage Step] Can the effect of "Gauntlet Warrior" be activated during the Damage Step?
- The effect of "Gauntlet Warrior" to increase the ATK of all Warrior-Type monsters can also be activated during the Damage Step, but not during or after damage calculation.
- You can also Tribute "Gauntlet Warrior" to activate its effect during the Damage Step if "Gauntlet Warrior" is battling. Damage calculation will not be performed, since "Gauntlet Warrior" is no longer on the field. Also, a Replay will not occur, since you are already in the Damage Step.
- When resolving the effect of "De-Synchro", if the Synchro Monster is not returned to the Extra Deck, then you cannot Special Summon the Synchro Material Monsters from the Graveyard. Thus, if "De-Synchro" targets a Synchro Monster which was Special Summoned by using "Eccentric Boy", then the Synchro Monster is removed from play and not returned to the Extra Deck, so you cannot Special Summon the Synchro Material Monsters from the Graveyard.
- If "Beast of the Pharaoh" was sent from the hand to the Graveyard because it was used as a Synchro Material Monster for a Synchro Summon along with "Eccentric Boy", then the effect of "Beast of the Pharaoh" may be activated.
- You cannot use "Eccentric Boy" and a monster from the hand as Synchro Material Monsters to Synchro Summon a monster like "Dark End Dragon" or "Arcanite Magician" if the Synchro Material Monsters are not the ones specified in the text of the Synchro Monster. To Synchro Summon "Dark End Dragon", you must send a DARK monster from your hand to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material Monster. To Synchro Summon "Arcanite Magician", you must send a Spellcaster-Type monster from your hand to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material Monster. To Synchro Summon "Mist Valley Thunder Lord", you must send a "Mist Valley" monster from your hand to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material Monster. To Synchro Summon "Black Brutdrago", you must send a Gemini monster from your hand to the Graveyard as a Synchro Material Monster. And so on.
- You can activate a Spell or Trap Card as Chain Link 1 and then activate the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" in Chain to the card by sending the activated card to the Graveyard. If the activated card was a Normal Spell Card or a Normal Trap Card, then the effect of the card will resolve properly. If the activated card was an Equip, Continuous, or Field Spell Card or a Continuous Trap Card, then the other card is not on the field when resolving its effect, so the effect of the other card is not applied.
2X[edit]
9320: [Damage Step] Can "Scrubbed Raid" be activated during the Damage Step?
- During the Damage Step you cannot activate a Set "Scrubbed Raid" by flipping it face-up. Also, during the Damage Step you cannot activate the effect of a "Scrubbed Raid" which is already face-up.
- If you are Synchro Summoning because you activated "Urgent Tuning", then you may perform the Synchro Summon by using "Eccentric Boy" and a monster in your hand. In this case, if you do not have a monster in your hand which can be used as a Synchro Material Monster or you do not have a Synchro Monster in your Extra Deck which can be Special Summoned, then the opponent can check your hand and your Extra Deck to verify. Also in this case, you cannot activate "Urgent Tuning" if you do not have a monster in your hand which can be used for a Synchro Summon.
- If you would activate a Set "Scrubbed Raid", then you can also send one card you control to the Graveyard to also simultaneously activate its effect to end the Battle Phase.
- If you use a face-up "Eccentric Boy" and a "Tuningware" in your hand as Synchro Material Monsters, then you cannot apply the effect of "Tuningware" to treat it as a Level 2 monster. Thus, you can only Synchro Summon a Level 4 Synchro Monster, since you are using a face-up "Eccentric Boy" (Level 3) and a "Tuningware" in your hand (Level 1).
- If you use a face-up "Eccentric Boy" and a "Tuningware" in your hand as Synchro Material Monsters, then you can activate the effect of "Tuningware" to draw one card when the Synchro Monster is successfully Synchro Summoned.
- A Synchro Monster which used "Eccentric Boy" as a Synchro Material Monster cannot activate its effects and has its effects negated as long as the monster remains face-up on the field.
- Example: "Colossal Fighter" used "Eccentric Boy" as a Synchro Material Monster. If "Imperial Iron Wall" is active and that "Colossal Fighter" is destroyed by battle, then the effect of "Colossal Fighter" will activate, and the effect will not be negated.
- "Junk Archer" has one effect which also returns the removed from play monster to the field in the same Battle Position during the End Phase. If "Junk Archer" is not face-up on the field during the End Phase of a turn in which its effect was activated, then the removed from play monster is still returned to the opponent's side of the field.
- If a Synchro Monster which used "Eccentric Boy" as a Synchro Material Monster is affected by "Interdimensional Matter Transporter", then the Synchro Monster is treated as being removed from play by the effect "it is removed from play when it is removed from the field" of "Eccentric Boy". During the End Phase, the Synchro Monster will not be returned to the field, and will remain removed from play.
9327: Can the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" be activated multiple times in the same Chain?
- You cannot activate the effect of a face-up "Scrubbed Raid" multiple times in the same Chain.
9328: Can "Mist Wurm" be Synchro Summoned by using "Eccentric Boy"?
- If "Eccentric Boy" is used as a Synchro Material Monster, then the other Synchro Material Monsters must be one monster from the hand. Thus, you cannot Synchro Summon a monster like "Mist Wurm" or "Ally of Justice Decisive Armor" which require two or more non-Tuner monsters.
9329: Is the Special Summon of a Synchro Monster which used "Eccentric Boy" treated as a Synchro Summon?
- The Special Summon of a Synchro Monster which used "Eccentric Boy" as a Synchro Material Monster is treated as a Synchro Summon. Thus, the Synchro Monster is treated as if it was Synchro Summoned properly, so the Synchro Monster may be Special Summoned by effects like "D.D.R. - Different Dimension Reincarnation".
3X[edit]
9330: Can the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" be activated during your own Battle Phase?
- You can activate the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" during your own Battle Phase's Start Step or Battle Step, but you cannot activate the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" during the Damage Step or End Step. Also, if you are only activating a Set "Scrubbed Raid" to make it face-up on the field, then you can activate "Scrubbed Raid" during the End Step.
- If a Synchro Monster" which used "Eccentric Boy" as a Synchro Material Monster is flipped face-down by an effect like "Book of Moon", then from that point onward the effect of "Eccentric Boy" is no longer applied. Afterwards, the monster can activate its effects once it is flipped, and the effects which were negated are now applied. Also afterwards, the monster is not removed from play when it is removed from the field.
- If the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" is activated when a monster declares an attack, then the Battle Phase ends, so the attacking monster can no longer be treated as an "attacking monster".
- If the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" is activated in Chain to an effect like "Sakuretsu Armor" or "Dimensional Prison", then the effect of "Sakuretsu Armor" is not applied, and the attacking monster remains on the field.
- If the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" is activated in Chain to "Magic Cylinder", then the Battle Phase ends, so "Magic Cylinder" cannot negate the attack so the effect of inflicting damage equal to the monster's ATK is not applied.
- The effect of "Mirror Force" only destroys all monsters in Attack Position, so all Attack Position monsters will still be destroyed even if the effect of "Scrubbed Raid" ends the Battle Phase.
9333: Effect Monster > Elemental HERO The Shining
- The effect of "Elemental HERO The Shining" which adds cards to your hand targets one to two of your "Elemental Hero" monsters which are removed from play.
- When resolving the effect of "Elemental HERO The Shining" which adds cards to your hand, if two "Elemental Hero" monsters were targeted and only one of them is still removed from play - for example, "Burial from a Different Dimension" was Chained and returned to the Graveyard one of the "Elemental Hero" monsters - then the remaining "Elemental Hero" monster is still returned to the hand.
- If "Elemental HERO The Shining" is destroyed while in the Spell & Trap Card Zone - for example, while it is equipped to "Relinquished" - then the effect of "Elemental HERO The Shining" can still return up to two removed from play "Elemental Hero" monsters to your hand.
- The effect of "Elemental HERO The Shining" which adds up to two removed from play "Elemental Hero" monsters to your hand can also be activated during the Damage Step, if "Elemental HERO The Shining" is destroyed by damage calculation or by a card effect.
9337: If "Elemental HERO The Shining" is destroyed face-down, then can its effect be activated?
- If "Elemental HERO The Shining" is face-down on the field and is destroyed face-down, then you can activate the effect to select up to two removed from play "Elemental Hero" monsters and add them to your hand.
- If "Shrink" is activated and targets "Elemental HERO The Shining", then the effect of "Elemental HERO The Shining" which increases the ATK of "Elemental HERO The Shining" will be applied after the effect of "Shrink" halves its Original ATK. Thus, its Original ATK of 2600 will be halved to 1300, and then its ATK will increase by 300x the number of your removed from play "Elemental Hero" monsters.

- "Inverse Universe" can also be activated during the Damage Step.
