DISCLAIMER: This user page is meant as a personal "reminder" list for User:UltimateKuriboh. It should not cited for rulings, as not all statements/rulings here are necessarily correct.
- Targeting legality:
- Cards that "cannot be destroyed." are the only cards that possibly cannot be targeted by cards/effects that would destroy them. ("Field Barrier" and "Imperial Custom" are examples of this.) This is ultimately determined by how their Japanese texts are worded, however.
- Card Rulings:Cybernetic Magician
- Cards that are banished/Tributed/returned/shuffled/sent (substitute this with "X") to the Graveyard for the inherent Summon of a monster are not treated as being X to activate the effect of that monster. Also, cards that prevent costs from being paid to activate cards/effects cannot prevent the inherent Summon of a monster.
- See Card Rulings:Atlantean Marksman and Card Rulings:The Tricky, respectively.
- Inherent Summons:
- Monsters that can be Normal Summoned/Set, but can be inherently Special Summoned, have their inherent Special Summons treated as effects. Monsters that cannot be Normal Summoned/Set, but can be inherently Special Summoned, do not have their inherent Special Summons treated as effects. Card Rulings:Vampire Grace
- You can banish Tokens for the inherent Summons of monsters and to pay costs. Card Rulings:Red-Eyes Darkness Metal Dragon and Card Rulings:Unibird
- Card Rulings:Vampire Lord, Card Rulings:T.G. Halberd Cannon
- When a card is activated, before its activation resolves, it is considered to be on the field. However, if its activation is negated, that "negation" makes it "not be on the field." This is why if "Necrovalley" is activated and MST is Chained, you can Chain "Imperial Tombs of Necrovalley" (duh, it's also why you can MST a "Fire Formation - Tenki"). This is also why the effect of "Black Pendant" doesn't activate after its initial activation is negated by "Magic Jammer".
- Source is Redshift and Ness.
- You may need to "out-of-date" rulings for "Garmr of the Nordic Beasts", "Honest", RDA, "Flashbang", "Phoenixian Cluster Amaryllis", "Attack of the Cornered Rat", "Assault Spirits", "Helping Robo for Combat", "Grave Protector", "Doomcaliber Knight" (regarding "Kuriboh"), "Falchionβ", "Mask of Weakness", "Stronghold Guardian", "Dragunity Knight - Gae Bulg" due to Damage Step page.
- "Zolga", "The Agent of Wisdom - Mercury", "Hero Barrier", Judge List ruling for "Vennominaga the Deity of Poisonous Snakes", Ordeal of a Traveler (regarding "Fairy Box"), "The Last Warrior from Another Planet", "Royal Oppression" (regarding face-up Trap Card's effects), Card Rulings:Big Bang Shot, Card Rulings:Nightmare's Steelcage, Card Rulings:The Agent of Judgment - Saturn, Card Rulings:Makiu, the Magical Mist, Card Rulings:De-Fusion, Card Rulings:Mystical Knight of Jackal, Card Rulings:Chaos Infinity (probably forgot "applied"), Card Rulings:Viser Des??, Card Rulings:Supervise, Card Rulings:Dverg of the Nordic Alfar, Card Rulings:Infernal Dragon?, Card Rulings:Marshmallon Glasses
- Card Rulings:Legendary Fiend, Card Rulings:Cyber Shadow Gardna, Card Rulings:Thousand Energy, Card Rulings:Berserk Dragon, Card Rulings:Last Turn, Card Rulings:Sasuke Samurai 2, Card Rulings:Last Turn, Card Rulings:Elemental HERO Prisma, Card Rulings:Second Booster, Card Rulings:Phantom Hand, Card Rulings:Spellbreaker of the Ice Barrier, Card Rulings:Max Warrior, Card Rulings:Aegis of the Ocean Dragon Lord, Card Rulings:Forbidden Chalice for "priority" or gamestate, or whatever
- Interesting factoid, but irrelevant: Card Rulings:Fake Feather
- ruling conflict between Card Rulings:Ultimate Axon Kicker / Card Rulings:Elemental HERO Wildheart and Card Rulings:Ritual Foregone / Card Rulings:Celestial Transformation / Card Rulings:Instant Fusion?
- Cards with rulings marked "out-of-date": Card Rulings:Rose Fairy, Card Rulings:Dragon Ice, Card Rulings:Majestic Mech - Goryu, Card Rulings:Majestic Mech - Ohka
- Card Rulings:Over Destiny, Card Rulings:Mind Trust says if you take half of an odd Level, you round down.
- Card Rulings:Copy Plant says that if a monster has its Level "technically" reduced below 1, the reduction will apply to any Level boost for that monster afterwards.
- All REDU "Madolche" monsters's effects (where relevant) activate when they are destroyed in your possession, not just while you control them. https://yugiohblog.konami.com/articles/?p=4436
- https://yugiohblog.konami.com/articles/?p=3195 for clarifying that the effects of cards that activate when they themselves "leave the field" don't activate when shuffled into the Main Deck. https://yugiohblog.konami.com/articles/?p=5930 this to add too.
- Card Rulings:Shining Silver Force, Card Rulings:Nature's Reflection: If a card that would increase LP is activated, while an effect that converts LP gain to damage is also active, cards/effects that can only be activated when damage would be inflicted can be activated.
- Similar mechanic: Card Rulings:Damage Translation
- Card Rulings:Teleport, Card Rulings:Infernity Launcher, Card Rulings:Blaze Accelerator: When you activate a Continuous Spell Card, you cannot activate any of its Ignition Effects in the same chain link (Launcher is not perfect though, since it sends itself as a cost, which may be the reason why).
- Card Rulings:Wattcube: Same, but for Equip Spells.
- Card Rulings:Fortissimo the Mobile Fortress: Same, but for Field Spells.
- Card Rulings:Earthbound Immortal Ccapac Apu Even if a Field Spell Card has just been activated (and hasn't resolved yet), it counts as being a face-up Spell Card on the field.

- Somewhat related: Card Rulings:Trap Eater
- Hypothesis: already-active Continuous Effects can apply during resolving effects. But if a Continuous Effect only begins applying during a card effect resolving, it will not interfere with that card effect. Examples: Muka Muka vs. Acid Trap Hole, Chorus of Sanctuary vs. Acid Trap Hole, RUM Soul Shave Force vs. RR Ultimate Falcon, Wisdom-Eye Magician vs. Nobledragon Magician
- "U.A. Signing Deal" vs. "Stygian Dirge"[1]
- "Lost World" vs. "Overtex Qoatlus"
- 2 Continuous/Lingering effects applying at the same time:
- If they would destroy the same card, you get to choose which effect to apply ("Cloudian - Altus" vs. "Limit Reverse")[2]
- Card Rulings:Amazoness Trainee, Card Rulings:Black-Winged Dragon, Card Rulings:Necro Defender, Card Rulings:Mermaid Archer
- Card Rulings:Torapart: Very useful for proving to people when "until the end of the Damage Step" effects expire.
- Alternate means of destruction
- Monsters that are destroyed due to interfering "You can only control 1 X" clauses (aka "highlander clause"), are not treated as being destroyed by a card effect. Card Rulings:Archfiend Zombie-Skull, Card Rulings:Earthbound Immortal Aslla piscu, Card Rulings:Earthbound Immortal Ccarayhua
- Monsters destroyed due to switching control while there are full Monster Zones. Card Rulings:Stardust Phantom, Card Rulings:Owner's Seal
- Regular "once per turn" (OPT) effects are reset whenever the monster leaves the field and then returns, or flipped face-down and then face-up, as per Card Rulings:Black Luster Soldier - Envoy of the Beginning, Card Rulings:Chevalier de Fleur
- OPT effects are not "reset" when control of the card switches ("Legendary Six Samurai - Shi En"[3])
- Direct attack definition: Card Rulings:Confusion Chaff

- You can banish activated S/Ts, as per Card Rulings:VWXYZ-Dragon Catapult Cannon
- Card Rulings:Dark Magic Curtain, Card Rulings:Ribbon of Rebirth: Mandatory effects still activate
- Card Rulings:Evil HERO Infernal Prodigy, Card Rulings:Zolga, Card Rulings:Skull Knight 2: confirmation of Tribute Summons needed to be successful

- Card Rulings:Yata-Garasu: Defense Position monsters that are attacked with a higher DEF count as "inflicting" battle damage.
