Shining Draw
Shining Draw (シャイニング・ドロー Shainingu Dorō) is an ability native to the denizens of Astral World in the Yu-Gi-Oh! ZEXAL anime which allows a Duelist to create a new card during their draw phase.
History
Shining Draw was first seen in episode 24 inside the Emperor's Key whereas Yuma and Astral utilized the power of ZEXAL giving them the ability to perform the Shining Draw to create "Zexal Weapon" monsters that can equip to "Number C39: Utopia Ray". The cards tend to be created with effects that enable the user to counter whatever cards the opponent has out. ZEXALs II and III retain the ability to perform the Shining Draw, in addition to their other powers.[1][2]
During the Legendary Number War arc, Eliphas a denizen from Astral World demonstrating Shining Draw in his duel against Yuma. He asserted that Yuma cannot use this power unless he becomes combines with Astral through ZEXAL Morph since Yuma is not an Astral World denizen.[3] However Yuma was able to utilize the power of Chaos within him to perform a Shining Draw of his own, which produced "Rank-Down-Magic Numeron Fall" in order to transform "Number 39: Utopia" into "Number 39: Utopia Roots" which could defeat Eliphas' high-rank Xyz monsters.[4]
Dark Draw
Dark Draw (ダーク・ドロー Dāku Dorō) is an ability that is the dark counterpart of the Shining Draw that is used by Dark ZEXAL to create a "DZW -" monster that can be equipped to "Number C39: Utopia Ray V". "Chimera Clad" granted "Utopia Ray V" the ability to prevent itself from being destroyed in battle, as well as doubling its ATK and allowing it to attack again.[5]
