Illusion (げんそう Gensōma, lit. "Illusion Magic") is a Type of Monster Card. It first debuted in Duelist Nexus.

The Illusion Type is based on the Illusion Magic Alignment, originally used by Maximillion J. Pegasus in the manga and subsequently implemented in some early video games, where it was localized as either "Illusionist" or "Dream". It generally included surreal entities such as mythical creatures, reality warpers, and hypnotists. The Type was also used by "Dragon Capture Jar" and "Dragon Piper" in Bandai's card game, both cards used by Pegasus.

All Illusion monsters currently released in the TCG/OCG share the effect that no monster can be destroyed by a battle involving them.

All Illusion monsters currently released have Eye of Wdjat in their artwork.
