Explanation of Field Power Sources, with Knight-Type (騎士族) mentioned in the "Grassland" (草原) box

Knight ( Kishi) is a Type in Duel Monsters in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga. It does not exist in the OCG/TCG.

Mentions[edit]

During an explanation of the Field Power Sources, the Wild Beast, Warrior, and Knight Types were all said to benefit from the Grassland. (In the English manga, this is changed to say Warrior and Beast-Warrior.)[1]

During his Duel with Dinosaur Ryuzaki, Katsuya Jonouchi states that the Grassland is good terrain for Warriors and Knights.[2]

Bandit Keith revealed that he had Decks prepared for all opponents, including Decks for Dragon, Knight, and Machine Types. (The English manga, replaces "Knight" with "Warrior".)[3]

Dark Yugi gave Warrior, Knight, Magic-User, and Beast Types as examples of ground-unit monsters, capable of moving in the dungeon in a Labyrinth Duel. (In the English version, he does not mention Knight, instead saying "Warriors, Beast-Warriors and Spellcasters".)[4]

Insector Haga said that Jonouchi's Deck was consisted mainly of Warrior and Knight-Type monsters, noting the futility of Jonouchi's chances as "Parasite Paracide" could feed off any almost any humanoid monster. (In the English manga, he instead said "Warriors and Beast Warriors".) However Sugoroku Mutou noted that there are Warriors and Knights that can't be parasitized. Jonouchi then Summoned "Gearfried the Iron Knight", an example of such a card. Despite its name, it was said to be Warrior-Type, rather than a Knight-Type.[5]

Sugoroku Mutou explained that Warrior and Knight-Type monsters cannot cross Ryota Kajiki's "Umi" field. Kajiki later reiterated that Jonouchi's Deck contains mostly Warrior and Knight-Type monsters. (In the English version, both instances are changed to instead mention "Warriors and Beast-Warriors".)[6][7]
