DIVINE was originally not a legal Attribute, and as of yet, has no support. However, with the inclusion of the first legal "Egyptian God" Card, "Obelisk the Tormentor" as a V Jump promotional card with the February 2009 issue, it was the first "Official" Monster Card of the "Divine" Attribute. With the release of the "Legal" versions of "The Winged Dragon of Ra", "Slifer the Sky Dragon" and "The Creator God of Light, Horakhty" there are a total of 4 monsters with the "Divine" Attribute.

Besides the "Wicked Gods" and the "Egyptian Gods", in episode 117 of Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's an introduction to the Three "Aesir" was made, these being the first DIVINE Attribute Synchro Monsters ever seen. All of them are properties to the members of Team Ragnarok. However, in the TCG/OCG and the English Anime, their Attributes were changed: "Thor" was changed to be EARTH, "Loki" was changed to be DARK, and "Odin" was changed to be LIGHT. Also, while the "Aesir" were DIVINE Monsters, all of the cards that gave direct support to "Aesir" in the anime actually gave support to the DIVINE Attribute.

DIVINE (かみ Kami, "God") is an Attribute in Yu-Gi-Oh!.

Overview[edit]

The DIVINE Attribute is exclusive to the Egyptian God monsters in the TCG/OCG. It is not present in TCG/OCG in their first release, but was added to them in 2010 and 2008 respectively, when the legal "Obelisk the Tormentor" was first released. Before then, three illegal collector's card versions of Egyptian Gods were released with the DIVINE Attribute.

Appearancce in media[edit]

Outside of the OCG and TCG, monsters other than the Egyptian Gods have also been DIVINE. For example, in the Yu-Gi-Oh! R manga, the three Wicked Gods are DIVINE, in the Yu-Gi-Oh! GX anime, the "Sacred Beast" monsters, except "Armityle the Chaos Phantom" are DIVINE, and in the Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D's anime, the three "Aesir" are DIVINE.

Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM[edit]

In Yu-Gi-Oh! BAM, the DIVINE Attribute is used by the Sacred Beasts; "Raviel, Lord of Phantasms", "Uria, Lord of Searing Flames" and "Hamon, Lord of Striking Thunder". DIVINE cards have their own black and gold frame and only one DIVINE card can be included in a Deck.[1]
