"Ready for the Rush!" known as "Let's Go! Rush Duel!" in the Japanese version, is the first episode of the Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS anime. It first aired in Japan on April 4, 2020. It aired on Disney XD on June 6, 2022 and became available for streaming on Hulu on June 7, 2022 in America.

Yuga Ohdo dreams of changing the rigid and restrictive Dueling world with his inventions, which he calls "roads". One day, Yuga learns about a legend from Luke, his classmate from the next class over, who wants to become the "King of Duels". The two of them arrive at a mysterious monument and find the Hologram Man waiting for them. In order to be recognized as the "King of Duels", Yuga must win within the time limit and install the new rules!

Summary

Yuga bangs his head as he wakes up from his dream.

In the middle of Goha City, a massive Dueling robot, packed with cheering fans and staffed by three Duelists around a conical platform in the center of the interior, steps forwards towards a towering mountain. Atop the conical platform within the Dueling robot, Yuga Ohdo grins and cries out as he rockets forward, the Dueling robot copying his movements and sprinting towards the mountain. A voice declares that this is the story of a young boy who wanted to seek freedom, and who cut through his roads and went on to become the King of Duels. Yuga's robot rushes up the stairs of the mountain towards an obscured figure, and Yuga cheers "Let's go! Rush Duel!" (In the dub, there is no narration: Yuga declares the figure may think they rule everything, but they don't rule him, and his Rush Duel will load the road to freedom) as a large red "7" appears over his Duel Disk...and he bangs his head on the overhead lamp in his lab, waking up from his dream. He falls backwards, muttering that it was a dream.

Yuga freaks out after receiving his fifth penalty.

A poster of the robot from Yuga's dream hangs on the wall as Yuga (with an ice pack on his head) types into his computer, connected to his Duel Disk's inner workings. A lime Goha Enterprises Drone hovers by his head with a timer reading "06:66:66", warning Yuga that his Duel Disk has been opened and that he will be penalized if he does not close it in six minutes and sixty-six seconds, but Yuga is too excited to pay attention, declaring that he can do this, just a bit more and his "road" will be installed...and then the timer runs out before his "road" can install and the screen of his computer locks. The Drone tells Yuga that six minutes and sixty-six seconds have passed, and he now has five penalties (out of six). Yuga freaks out and faints, cursing in disappointment.

Luke spies on Yuga as he explains to Gavin what he was attempting to do.

At Goha #7 Elementary the next day, a red Drone cheerfully greets the arriving students, urging them to have another healthy and fun day (in the dub it also urges them to do so by following all 6,666 rules) before spotting a yawning Yuga riding in on his bicycle and noting to him that it looks modified. Yuga quickly gets out of the drone's way as he hears his friends Ricky and Katz calling him, and he greets them cheerfully. Ricky notices the five penalties on Yuga's Duel Disk, and an embarrassed Yuga claims that they're like a challenger's medals. Katz asks him what he's talking about; one more and he's done for. As Yuga asks him not to say that, the mention of a penalty swiftly catches the attention of Gavin Sogetsu, who zooms over to Yuga and angrily asks if he's got another penalty. Yuga politely greets the Student Council President (in the dub he innocently asks if he looks like a rule-breaker), who stands with Rayne and Rino behind him, and leans forward with wide eyes and sternly asks what Yuga's bike is. Yuga casually replies that it's his Duel-cycle as Romin Kassidy walks past and a girl greets her, telling her that her band's new song was awesome. Romin walks away, thanking the girl as Yuga explains to Gavin that it can be used to charge a Duel Disk using kinetic pedal power. Gavin sarcastically calls it convenient before grilling Yuga on what he did to receive another penalty (in the dub, Gavin has been distracted by the Duel-cycle, which he claims violates Rule 456, and Yuga complains about all the rules they have to follow before revealing he opened his Duel Disk). Yuga confidently claims that it wasn't such a big deal, he just opened his Duel Disk. Gavin freaks out at the notion of opening a Duel Disk and swirls into lecturing mode with Rayne and Rino showing off an example, telling Yuga that Duel Disks are important tools for Dueling, and the user data gathered from the Duel Disks is completely controlled by their developers, Goha Enterprises. Therefore, opening or dismantling Duel Disks is completely forbidden, and meddling with them is penalized; when you accumulate six of them, your account will be banned. Yuga sheepishly protests that he just wanted to install new rules, and Gavin freaks out, screaming "NEW RULES!?" as a blue-haired boy walks through the hall and peeks into Yuga's classroom (in the dub, Yuga doesn't initially specify rules, simply claiming he wanted to load his code, and Gavin screams "WHAT CODE!?"). Now in his class with Ricky, Katz and Gavin, Yuga happily confirms that they are new rules for Dueling, and he straps on and activates his Duel Disk, stating that in other words, it's his "road". Ricky and Katz cheer that it's Yuga's catchphrase, and Gavin exasperatedly asks why Yuga wants to install new rules after all this time (in the dub, Gavin tells Yuga that's no reason to get a penalty). Yuga asks if it isn't obvious; he'll take back everyone's smiles from the strict Dueling world they find themselves in through his "road", the Rush Duel (imagining himself standing on a rock with a banner and surrounded by cheering kids). Gavin (still flanked by Rayne and Rino) asks what Yuga means by "strict world", and Yuga begins to explain, but a tone sounds and a blue Goha Enterprises Drone enters the classroom, declaring that class has started and Duel Disks cannot be used at this time. Yuga's Duel Disk deactivates and the blade retracts into the body as he says "like this", and Gavin haughtily and swiftly backs up and out of the class with Rayne and Rino, declaring that they will continue their talk after school in the Student Council Room. Yuga cheerfully agrees, while the blue-haired boy muses on the notion of installing rules that he thought of himself, before taking notice of Romin turning away from Yuga with photos of him, Yuga, and Gavin on her smartphone as Yuga comments that the Student Council President is too strict.

Yuga meets Luke.

After school, a Goha Enterprises Drone bids the students goodbye and tells them to be careful. Ricky and Katz are trading cards at the school entrance, but an orange Drone swoops down and admonishes them for trading cards without being under Goha Enterprises supervision, claiming that it is prohibited. Ricky is mildly annoyed, but Katz simply states that it's a bother, but it can't be helped. Yuga rides past them on his Duel-cycle, and Ricky asks him to Duel, but Yuga apologizes and tells him that he'll pass today. The blue-haired boy steps out from the school gate and asks if he is Yuga Ohdo. Yuga screeches to a halt in front of him, and notes that the boy is from the next class. The blue-haired boy holds up a Deck case and declares that he is the number one Duelist at Goha #7 Elementary, Lucidien Kallister, but he tells Yuga that he can call him "Luke". Yuga sweatdrops and puts on a brave face, and Luke asks if he can have a word with Yuga. Yuga rides past Luke, apologizing and telling him that he's in a hurry, but maybe next time he can. Luke adjusts his cuffs and touches Yuga's Duel-cycle, which goes flat as Yuga leaves, much to his confusion. Luke approaches him again, telling him that he knows a perfect place where he can install his new rules, much to Yuga's surprise. Gavin meanwhile is fuming over Yuga's tardiness in the Student Council Office with Rayne and Rino, but then he notices Yuga leaving with Luke.

The Hologram Man appears.

Under the full moon, Luke declares that when the moon is full enough to be hardly recognizable, a Duelist will carve open a new path and guide the world as the King of Duels; Yuga must have heard about that at least once, right? (In the dub, the legend is "On the night when the moon is full, the darkness will welcome the King of the Duel. Will you be the one to create the road and guide the world with this title bestowed?) Yuga replies that he hasn't and Luke freaks out, protesting that there's totally a legend like that. He opens a door to an underground staircase, claiming that long ago an engineer from Goha Enterprises created a secret door inside the Duel System, and whoever finds it will become the King of Duels. Yuga asks "King of Duels?" and he fantasizes about wearing a crown, before claiming that it doesn't really interest him and giggling. Luke replied that this might interest him. Yuga watches in shock as they reach the bottom of the staircase and approach a stone chair, and Luke tells him to watch. The chair splits with light and opens, and a glowing figure - the man from Yuga's dream - emerges from the light, declaring that he will test whether they are fit to be the King of Duels or not. Luke explains that he discovered this place a week ago, and thought that he could become the King of Duels if he defeated the Hologram Man, whose appearance fades in from the light. But even though Luke was able to defeat him, nothing happened other than the time running out and receiving a penalty. Yuga muses that simply winning isn't the right method, and Luke states that when he heard Yuga talking about his new rules at school, he remembered the line about "carving open a new path" from the legend, and Yuga wonders if it refers to installing new Dueling rules. He runs up to Luke, but then admits that he's already failed five times to install his rules; his account will be banned if he fails again. Luke asks if he wants to bet on that final attempt, pointing at the Hologram Man with his Duel Disk, and Yuga gasps in shock as he sees that Luke's Duel Disk has six penalties; his account has been banned. Luke admits that he couldn't do it, but Yuga might be able to actually change this strict and rigid world. Yuga remembers his dream, and he admits that he likes the sound of that and he holds out his Duel Disk, telling the Hologram Man "Let's do this!" The Hologram Man grins in response.

Luke demonstrates his strange power to depower the Goha Enterprises Drone.

In the street, Gavin is still looking for Yuga and Luke, finally spotting Yuga's Duel-cycle outside the door. In the basement, Luke watches as Yuga begins installing his rules, and Gavin speeds down the stairs, telling Yuga that he told him to come to the Student Council Room after the stall, but freaking out at the sight of the Hologram Man and asking what the heck it is. Luke tells him to calm down as they're in the middle of installing new rules, but Gavin just freaks out even more and Luke has to hold him back as Gavin orders them to stop immediately. A green Goha Enterprises Drone flies into the basement, warning them that they have caught unauthorized access and declaring that if all present do not leave in six minutes and sixty-six seconds, then all present will receive a penalty. Gavin screams "WHAT!?" and Luke tells him to stop talking and keep watching if he doesn't want that to happen, and adds "You too, over there," with a smile. Romin steps out from behind a column, noting that Luke was aware of her (in the dub, she's more surprised by Luke noticing her). Gavin cries her name as Romin walks over and Luke asks if even the popular guitarist from the Elementary School Band is interested in becoming the King of Duels. Romin claims that she isn't interested in Dueling; she was just practicing her guitar on the top floor and asks if they're fine with that (in the dub, she claims her band had been practicing upstairs, but she wanted to know what the ruckus was). The Drone is still announcing its timer, and Gavin screams "Penalty!" in fear, but Luke walks over and growls as he touches the Drone, causing it to stop working and drop to the floor. Romin asks what he did in shock and Luke chuckles, dramatically beginning to claim there is a devil inside him - "I've got it!" Yuga cries, catching Gavin and Romin's attention and leaving a flustered Luke saying "D-Devil" (in the dub, Luke simply claims he has powers beyond mortal men). The Hologram Man's podium ascends, revealing a stone door set into it, and he comments that the one who will become the King of Duels is finally here. Yuga cheers that he did it, but Luke notes that he hasn't installed them yet. Then Yuga's Duel Disk battery starts dying, much to Yuga's horror, and Luke asks him if he's for real. Yuga yelps in panic and Luke tells him to do something.

Gavin retrieves Yuga's Duel-cycle to power his Duel Disk.

Gavin yelps "Penalty!" again, and quickly zips away and returns riding Yuga's Duel-cycle, declaring that he'll generate electricity. Yuga thanks him, and the screen comes back on, but so does the Drone, declaring that it has discovered unauthorized access. Luke gasps that it revived, and Gavin tells him to do what he did earlier. Luke dives after the Drone, eventually jumping onto it, but nothing happens. Luke muses that it's as he thought; two times is his limit per day (in the dub, he simply claims he's out of juice). Yuga sweatdrops as Luke drifts past, and Romin suggests that Yuga might make it if he tries Real-Time Duel Programming. Yuga and Gavin are both confused by the term, but then Yuga remembers; it's the method used by developers to update Duel Disks; programming the Duel Disk through a Duel. Luke, now hanging upside-down from the Drone, asks if Romin was supposed to not be interested in Dueling, and Romin stammers that she obviously doesn't have any interest. Gavin pants from exhaustion as he continues to pedal, asking how Yuga will be able to program it by Dueling in just six minutes and sixty-six seconds. Yuga straps on his Duel Disk, claiming that he can do it if he uses his Rush Duel, and he activates the Real-Time Duel Program as he inserts his Deck case into his Duel Disk. The Hologram Man raises his own Duel Disk and he accepts Yuga's activation. Their Duel Disks activate, and Yuga tells him that they'll be Rush Dueling (in the dub he declares that he's loading his road to victory). His Duel Disk glows, the blade extends from the body and the outer two Main Monster Zones slot into the blade, leaving three, then the blade and connector section glow with a red "7". Gavin gasps that Yuga's Duel Disk changed its shape, and Romin adds that it became the number "7". Luke protests that Goha Enterprises' symbol is a hexagon, and Yuga claims that SEVENS will break through that. A dome of a green grid of light appears over the field, and both Yuga and the Hologram Man declare "Let's go! Rush Duel!" ("Ready for the rush? Let's get this started!" in the dub)

To everyone's shock, Yuga immediately summons three monsters at once.

The field appears, but the five Main Monster Zones of a Goha Duel disappear and are replaced with three. Gavin is surprised the field changed as Yuga and the Hologram Man draw their starting hands; Yuga explains that in a Rush Duel, players start with four cards in their hand. He declares his turn and draws "High Magic - Double Acceleration", adding it to his hand, which also contains "Wind Spirit's Protection", "Dark Sorcerer", "Magical Beast Wolfang", and "Spell Archer", then he removes the three Monster Cards from his hand and places them on his Duel Disk, declaring that he is Summoning "Dark Sorcerer", "Magical Beast Wolfang" and "Spell Archer". The front of his Duel Disk blasts out roads of blue light, with holographic copies of the cards on them, and the three Solid Vision monsters appear from the cards all at once as the images shatter. Gavin gasps in shock, and Luke gasps that Yuga summoned three monsters at once. Romin asks if Summoning three monsters at once is supposed to be amazing, and Gavin asks Yuga how he was able to Summon three monsters so easily. Yuga claims that it's possible because of his Rush Duel; you can accelerate to the maximum right from the start and cut cleanly through the road at high speed (in the dub he points out that he didn't name it "Slow Duel"). Luke repeats the name "Rush Duel", and he comments that it sounds interesting. Yuga Sets the remaining two cards in his hand, slotting them into his Duel Disk, and admits that he can't attack on the first turn, so he ends his turn as the images of the cards fade.

The Hologram Man declares his turn and draws, smiling at his draw. He Summons "Lizard Soldier" and "Lesser Dragon", and like Yuga's, duplicate holographic cards rush out from his Duel Disk on roads of blue light and shatter to reveal the monsters. Gavin gasps that the Hologram Man also Summoned two monsters, and the Hologram Man admits that this is a new feeling to be able to Summon multiple times immediately, declaring that it will be a dynamic Duel. Yuga agrees; this is what's great about Rush Duels. "But what if I do this?" the Hologram Man asks, and he removes the two Monster Cards from his Duel Disk, declaring that he is Tributing two monsters to Tribute Summon the ultimate monster - "Blue-Eyes White Dragon", which emerges with 3000 ATK. Gavin presses up against the barrier, protesting that he can't believe the Hologram Man was able to Summon "Blue-Eyes" so easily. Romin asks if it's an amazing monster, and Gavin protests that of course it is; Luke explains that even among a select few this is a top-grade legendary dragon that possess the highest ATK, and he asks if Yuga is okay. Luke, Romin and Gavin all watch as Yuga laughs nervously, shocked that he's facing a "Blue-Eyes" in his first Rush Duel. Romin says Yuga's name, and Gavin asks her not to tell him that Yuga's completely scared, but then Yuga grins and calls it awesome, prompting Luke to laugh and comment "That guy..." (in the dub, he comments that it looks like Gavin's wrong). The Hologram Man then activates a Spell Card exclusive to the ultimate dragon, "Burst Breath of Destruction", destroying all of Yuga's monsters in a blast of red energy. Gavin is horrified that all of Yuga's monsters were destroyed, and Romin asks "Isn't that bad?" Yuga is nervously laughing again, and Luke whispers his name. Gavin declares that this time Yuga's definitely scared. But the Hologram Man isn't finished yet, and he orders "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" to attack Yuga directly with "White Lightning", blasting Yuga off his feet and reducing his LP to 1000. Gavin begs for forgiveness and cries Yuga's name, while Luke is shocked that Yuga took 3000 damage at once, and Romin protests that Yuga still has 1000 LP left, though this just prompts Gavin to bemoan that Yuga only has 1000 LP left. The Hologram Man ends his turn, and Romin wonders if Yuga will lose. Gavin asks what she's saying, declaring that a Duel is a stream of comebacks and Yuga is the inventor of Rush Duels, so he must have a trump card to turn this situation around. But as he walks into the dome to check Yuga's hand. he yelps that he doesn't have any cards in his hand at all, so a comeback is impossible as he sobs (in the dub he sobs that he's getting a penalty). Luke thinks that Yuga lost 3000 LP in just the second turn, and his opponent is using "Blue-Eyes". One draw won't be able to do it...is this it for Yuga?

But Yuga, still on his back, declares that he remembers now, he remembers when he decided to create Rush Dueling (in the dub he also reassures Gavin it's not over yet). Gavin gasps Yuga's name, and Yuga continues that the more he loved Dueling, the more he realized that it was really strict. He wanted everyone to enjoy Dueling with freedom and have more and more fun. Luke admits that Yuga's Dueling would make everyone excited from the start and that it really is fun, but just that isn't enough. Yuga asks who said it was just that as he sits up, and Luke watches in surprise as Yuga adds that it involves high excitement right from the start, and the chance for a comeback even if you're in a pinch, doesn't that sound like a fun Duel?

Yuga Tribute Summons his ace monster - "Sevens Road Magician".

The Hologram Man gasps in surprise as Yuga gets to his feet, declares his turn, and draws five cards. Luke and Gavin gasp in shock, and Gavin protests that Yuga's only supposed to draw one card per turn. But Yuga reveals that Rush Duels are different; the player draws until they are holding five cards. Luke gasps that Yuga had no cards in his hand, so he was able to draw five cards, and Romin watches as Yuga examines his new hand, consisting of "Straynge Cat", "Mystic Dealer", "Ansler the Magical Swordsman", "Hydro Magician", and "Curtain of Sparks". He thinks that it's still not here and looks up to see the Drone drifting past his face. Gavin gasps that the time limit is at two minutes and thirty seconds. Yuga replies that it's plenty of time, much to the Hologram Man's interest. He Summons "Straynge Cat" and "Mystic Dealer" from his hand, and then he activates the effect of "Mystic Dealer", sending "Ansler the Magical Swordsman" from his hand to the Graveyard to draw a card, declaring that he'll bet it on this card. He gasps that it's here, and he Tributes his two monsters to Tribute Summon, chanting, "A wall, a mountain, not even a planet can block my way! Nothing will stop my road to victory! Let's go! Sevens Road Magician!" The flaming-headed magic swordsman appears with a wide grin and 2100 ATK, and Gavin and Romin say its name (in the dub they're both impressed). Luke declares that this is Yuga's ace monster, but it only has 2100 ATK, so it can't defeat "Blue-Eyes".

Gavin and Luke review the Attributes of the monsters in Yuga's Graveyard.

Yuga asks if Luke is sure about that, and his Duel Disk ejects one of his Set cards as he activates it, the Spell Card "Wind Spirit's Protection". He sends "Hydro Magician" from his hand to the Graveyard to increase the ATK of "Sevens Road Magician" by 1000, to 3100. A twister of wind empowers "Sevens Road Magician", and Luke gasps that Yuga got it higher than "Blue-Eyes". Yuga adds that now he can use this card, the Spell Card "High Magic - Double Acceleration", returning "Ansler" and "Hydro Magician" from his Graveyard to his Deck and increasing the ATK of "Sevens Road Magician" by 2100, to 5200, surrounding it with burning power. Luke gasps that the ATK of "Sevens Road" keeps increasing, but Gavin protests that Yuga won't have enough time even if he defeats "Blue-Eyes". Yuga replies that he can do this; "Sevens Road" has an effect that allows it to increase its ATK by 300 for each different Attribute in his Graveyard (in the dub, Yuga also briefly explains Attributes). Gavin is shocked by the effect, and he and Luke recount that right now Yuga has a FIRE, DARK, WIND, EARTH and WATER monster in his Graveyard, so he has five in total. Romin notes that it will increase the ATK of "Sevens Road" by 1500 points, and Luke adds that it will have 6700 ATK, but the Hologram Man will still have 300 LP even if Yuga destroys "Blue-Eyes". The Hologram Man smiles in satisfaction, but Yuga claims that it isn't over yet, much to his surprise. Yuga explains that he has to send a card from the top of his Deck to his Graveyard to activate the effect of "Sevens Road Magician", and Romin realizes what that means. Gavin states that Yuga has to send a monster other than FIRE, DARK, WIND, EARTH or WATER to his Graveyard, in other words... Luke finishes that Yuga has to send a LIGHT monster to his Graveyard. Yuga declares "Let's go, Sevens Road!" and he activates its "Elemental Road" effect. Luke and Gavin gasp that there is only one chance as Yuga excavates his top card...

"Blue-Eyes White Dragon" is destroyed by "Sevens Road Magician's" "Sevens Magic".

He's got the LIGHT-Attribute "Shining Shaman", and "Sevens Road Magician's" fires and aura intensify as it rises to 7000 ATK, and Luke cheers the ATK score. Romin smiles happily, and Gavin cries Yuga's name. Yuga orders "Sevens Road Magician" to attack "Blue-Eyes", ordering it to cut through his road with "Sevens Magic Attack". "Sevens Road Magician" extends its sword and creates seven symbols of star-shaped light, blasting a stream of energy that disintegrates "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" and consumes the Hologram Man, reducing his LP to zero. The light fades, revealing Yuga standing in shock before the empty podium and the fallen Goha Enterprises Drone as holographic text states "INSTALLED". He gasps that he was able to install it, and Luke asks if he did. The text changes to red letters reading "RUSH DUEL", and Yuga gasps "This is..." which Romin holds up her smartphone to take a picture and whispers "Rush Duel..." Gavin runs forwards, cheering that Yuga actually did it, and Luke ruffles Yuga's hair, telling him that he was awesome as the three boys laugh. The voice of the Hologram Man then congratulates Yuga, and stone pillars begin materializing around the door as he declares that from here a new road will open (in the dub, he directly claims it is the path to becoming the King of Duels). Yuga gasps "Road?" and the doors open, revealing light within as Luke whispers that the legend was true, and the one who will become the King of Duels is... A road of light falls on Yuga, and then the penalty count on his Duel Disk falls to zero. Luke and Gavin gasp in shock and dig out their own Duel Disks; Luke's penalty count is gone too. Suddenly their Duel Disks expand and glow with a "7" just like Yuga's, and Gavin freaks out and tries to close it back up.

In the brightly lit Goha City, children all over the city gasp in shock as their own Duel Disks transform into the 7 shape, and Yuga looks into the passage before him and he gasps that his road has opened (in the dub, he wonders where the road leads to).

Yuga VS Hologram Man.png

The Duel is conducted as a Rush Duel.

Turn 1: Yuga
Yuga draws "High Magic - Double Acceleration". Yuga's hand contains "High Magic - Double Acceleration", "Wind Spirit's Protection", "Dark Sorcerer", "Magical Beast Wolfang", and "Spell Archer". Yuga Normal Summons "Dark Sorcerer" (1500/0), "Magical Beast Wolfang" (1100/100) and "Spell Archer" (1000/400). Yuga Sets two cards.

Turn 2: Hologram Man
The Hologram Man Normal Summons "Lizard Soldier" (1100/800) and "Lesser Dragon" (1200/1000). The Hologram Man Tributes "Lizard Soldier" and "Lesser Dragon" to Tribute Summon "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (3000/2500). As he controls a Level 7 or higher Dragon Type Normal Monster, the Hologram Man activates the Spell Card "Burst Breath of Destruction", destroying all face-up Level 6 or lower monsters Yuga controls. "Dark Sorcerer", "Wolfang" and "Spell Archer" are destroyed. "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" attacks Yuga directly (Yuga 4000 → 1000).

Turn 3: Yuga
Yuga draws "Straynge Cat", "Mystic Dealer", "Ansler the Magical Swordsman", "Hydro Magician", and "Curtain of Sparks". Yuga Normal Summons "Straynge Cat" (0/1400) and "Mystic Dealer" (1000/0). Yuga activates the effect of "Mystic Dealer", sending a Spellcaster Type monster from his hand to the Graveyard to draw a card. He sends "Ansler the Magical Swordsman" to the Graveyard and draws "Sevens Road Magician". Yuga Tributes "Straynge Cat" and "Mystic Dealer" to Tribute Summon "Sevens Road Magician" (2100/1500). Yuga activates his Set Spell Card "Wind Spirit's Protection", sending a card from his hand to the Graveyard to increase the ATK of a Spellcaster Type monster he controls by 1000 until the end of the turn. He sends "Hydro Magician" to the Graveyard and increases the ATK of "Sevens Road Magician" ("Sevens Road Magician" 2100 → 3100 ATK). Yuga activates his Set Spell Card "High Magic - Double Acceleration", returning two Level 5 or higher Spellcaster Type monsters in his Graveyard to his Deck to increase the ATK of a Spellcaster Type monster he controls by its original ATK until the end of the turn. He returns "Ansler" and "Hydro Magician" ("Sevens Road Magician" 3100 → 5200 ATK). Yuga activates the effect of "Sevens Road Magician", sending a card from the top of his Deck to the Graveyard to increase its ATK by 300 times the number of different Attributes in his Graveyard until the end of the turn. He sends the LIGHT "Shining Shaman", so he has six different Attributes in his Graveyard ("Sevens Road Magician" 5200 → 7000 ATK). "Sevens Road Magician" attacks and destroys "Blue-Eyes White Dragon" (Hologram Man 4000 → 0).

Differences in adaptations

  • In the dub, while Yuga and Gavin are riding Yuga's Duel-cycle, they are wearing helmets.
  • In the original version, Luke claims his ability to affect technology is the result of being possessed by a devil, and that he can only use his power twice a day. In the dub, he simply claims to have powers beyond mortal men, and makes no mention of a limit, deducing he's "out of juice" when he fails to deactivate the Goha Enterprises Drone.
