Gavin is a tall boy with blue eyes and close-cropped purple hair that hangs over his eyes and is clipped back over his ears. He generally dresses simply yet smartly in a sky blue school uniform with a white edge and black shoes. The clothes that he wears while Dueling (apparently constantly under whatever clothes he is wearing otherwise at the time) are more traditional Japanese clothing; he wears a sleeveless lavender kimono with a black collar and a black sash that has a blue line running down the middle, and a black mantle with a red inside and gold lining, held at the neck with a gold cord buttoned with green gems. He also wears a dark lilac gauntlet on his right forearm with a three segmented sections edged in red and a black underlayer. The gauntlet also fastens to his hand by a loop over his middle finger, and he carries a black fan when using [[Sogetsu Style]].

Gavin has also been seen in green-trimmed athletic clothes and in rugby uniform with headgear and a green belt for the non-contact variant of the sport. After being transferred to [[Goha #6 Elementary]], Gavin wears their uniform; a largely blue tracksuit with a white trim and the character for "6" emblazoned on the back in red. While laboring at the [[Abandoned Dorm (SEVENS)|Abandoned Dorm]], he also wears a white hard-hat and gloves, a white scarf tied neatly around his neck, and black boots. While [[Yujin Goha]] has an artificial sea created at [[Goha #7 Elementary]], Gavin wears a white and green striped one-piece swimming costume. During the tryouts for the [[Goha Monsters]], Gavin wears a white baseball uniform with a long-sleeved green undershirt and green socks with white shinguards and a white cap. He briefly wears a kendo uniform while substituting for [[Shinken Tsurugi]] and [[Kotetsuki Mendo]], but switches to his usual kimono for his [[Kendo Rush Duel]] with [[Yuran Goha]]. As The Professor Gavin, he dons a brown suit with a beige undershirt that has a brown line running down the middle, a light blue labcoat with oversized chopsticks in the breast pocket, and sunglasses. He is later forced to wear Romin's "The Rockin' Romin" costume for [[Yuo Goha]]'s birthday celebration, donning a pink wig in the shape of her hair, a pink eyemask, and blue tights in addition. As a [[Goha Enterprises]] employee, Gavin wears the uniform worn by the rank-and-file employees; a sleeveless grey knee-length jacket with the Goha Enterprises logo over his heart, a short-sleeved blue collared shirt over along-sleeved charcoal one, charcoal pants, black shoes and a black belt with a Goha Enterprises logo for the buckle.

As part of his efforts to prove himself as distinguished in the modern era, Gavin adopts the persona of "DJ G" (Gakuting in the Japanese version) during his Duel with [[Nail Saionji]] in the [[Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal]] finals. He dresses in a stereotypical "hipster" outfit, with a baggy white hoodie with a baby blue lining, baggy lilac pants with a blue and black-checkered handkerchief tied around his left thigh, red and purple sneakers, a red fingerless glove on his right hand, a red baseball cap with a paper fan attached to the front stamped with a "G" in the style of his family crest, and a comically oversized gold medallion on a gold chain around his neck emblazoned with his family crest. After he returns to his normal kimono he continues to wear the medallion attached to his forehead and later attaches it to his Duel Disk to fend off attacks.

Gavin is serious-minded and assured in his righteousness, but also highly dramatic and energetic. He dislikes tardiness, having never been late to school.<ref name="title" /><ref name="summary" /> He is so dedicated to preventing rule breaking that the mere mention of a penalty by Yuga brings him zooming over to lecture him, and when Yuga blows off his request for him to meet after school, he searches for him throughout the night.<ref name="ep1">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|1|ref}}</ref> Despite finding [[Romin Kassidy]]'s behavior suspicious, he balks at the idea of [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]] invading her privacy, and he seems mortified at the idea of Yuga asking Romin to visit his laboratory.<ref name="ep3">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! Despite his strictness, Gavin means well deep down. Though he could have fled the [[Kaizo|Goha Enterprises Drone]] in the [[Hologram Man's chamber]], he instead assists Yuga and Luke in uploading Yuga's [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Gavin's speech is polite and somewhat formal, generally attaching the honorific "-kun" after people's names once he is familiar with them and using the personal pronoun "watashi". The exceptions are adults like Mimi, who he calls by their surnames with the "-san" honorific.

When he takes on the persona of "DJ G", Gavin adds a lot of English into his speech, including several puns with Japanese words.

Gavin can walk comically quickly, never moving from an upright posture when doing so. Gavin heard [[Yuga Ohdo]] talking about receiving a penalty one day at school and he zoomed over to inquire as to why. After Yuga showed him his [[Duel-cycle]] and explained how it worked, Gavin was horrified to learn that Yuga had been penalized for opening his [[Duel Disk]] and proceeded to lecture him on them and he asked why Yuga even wanted to open the Disk. Yuga explained that he had been trying to install new rules, much to Gavin's horror. Yuga claimed that his [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Dueling]] would be something that could bring back everyone's smiles in such a strict Dueling world, but before he could explain any further, class started and Gavin told Yuga to explain it to him after class. However, Yuga did not come to the Student Council's office, and Gavin spotted Yuga leaving with [[Lucidien Kallister|Lucidien "Luke" Kallister]]. Gavin searched for them alone without [[Rayne Nanahoshi|Rayne]] and [[Rino Nanahoshi|Rino]]'s help, eventually spotting Yuga's Duel-cycle by a door leading to [[Hologram Man's chamber|a basement]] where he found Yuga and Luke installing Yuga's new rules. He was shocked to see the [[Otes|Hologram Man]] standing in the chamber and horrified when a [[Kaizo|Goha Enterprises Drone]] arrived and began counting down the timer before penalizing them all. After [[Romin Kassidy]] arrived, Luke deactivated the Drone and Yuga's Duel Disk began to run out of battery. Gavin swiftly retrieved Yuga's Duel-cycle and used it to power his Duel Disk, allowing Yuga to use Real-Time Duel Programming to install his Rush Duel rules. The Drone reactivated, with Luke unable to deactivate it again, and Gavin, Luke and Romin watched as Yuga Rush Dueled the Hologram Man. Gavin was amazed by the Duelists' ability to repeatedly Summon monsters and by the Hologram Man's use of the legendary "[[Blue-Eyes White Dragon (anime Rush Duel)|Blue-Eyes White Dragon]]". Yuga was reduced to 1000 [[LP]], and Gavin panicked when he saw that Yuga had no cards in his hand, believing that he wouldn't be able to make a comeback. As the Rush Duel progressed, Gavin explained the rules to Yuga's friends, in addition to some basic rules of ''Duel Monsters'' to the inexperienced Romin. Although Yuga came close to winning the Duel with "Sevens Road Magician", Luke was able to hang on with 100 LP due to Yuga failing to assemble enough [[Attribute]]s in his [[Graveyard]] to power it up. Luke defeated Yuga with "[[Multistrike Dragon Dragias (anime)|Multistrike Dragon Dragias]]", but Yuga revealed that he'd modified the Drone that had detected them yesterday and hidden it behind Gavin to livestream the Duel, prompting Gavin to fret that his account could be deleted. As Gavin hurried everyone back to class, Yuga told Luke that he wanted everyone to enjoy Rush Duels, and Luke came to believe Yuga had let him win the Duel, though both Gavin and Romin privately agreed that Yuga had simply lost the Duel.<ref name="ep2"/>

Luke asked Gavin about Romin one day, as he believed she was working for Goha Corp. Gavin was skeptical, but agreed that Romin knew oddly specific facts about Dueling and agreed to have Yuga use one of his Roads to determine if she was hiding something, though Yuga's Road broke inconclusively. Yuga then invited Romin to his [[Road Laboratory]], something Gavin was flustered by. They were greeted by the modified Drone, which Gavin was initially nervous of until he realized that it was Yuga's. Yuga named the Drone Kaizo after it asked for Romin's autograph and showed them his Roads, though Gavin wound up worrying over Luke after he was trapped in a hairstyling Road. Yuga convinced Romin to Rush Duel him, and Luke tried to look in Romin's guitar case after seeing her reluctance to part with it; Gavin was forced to continuously stop Luke to preserve Romin's privacy. Gavin also explained how [[Level]]s and Tribute Summons worked to Romin during the Duel. Yuga quickly pushed Romin into a corner, but she made a comeback with a card she had added to the spare Deck Yuga had lent her; "[[Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar (anime)|Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar]]", amazing Gavin with its powerful effect. Romin explained that she had got the card at a concert and kept it in her guitar case as a good luck charm, reminding Luke of his mission. Yuga tried to make a comeback, but initially had a dead hand until he gambled on returning "Sevens Road Magician" to his Deck and re-drawing it with "[[Recovery Force (anime)|Recovery Force]]", and he defeated Romin. Gavin told Romin that the effect of "Prima Guitarna" was quite strong and noted that Yuga hadn't needed to use the effect of "Sevens Road" to win, though Yuga claimed that an ace should fight an ace. One day after drawing "[[Yamiruler the Dark Delayer (anime)|Yamiruler the Dark Delayer]]" for his daily fortune, Yuga dragged Gavin out of the office to help film a Rush Dueling promo video, though they ran into difficulties with the vocals when Romin refused to sing an Gavin stated they could only sing the school anthem. After Gavin demonstrated how tone-deaf he was, he returned to his duties, but accidentally ran in that halls and began having a crisis between his duties and Rush Dueling. Rayne and Rino convinced Gavin to stay loyal to the Student Council, so Gavin decided to interpret drawing "Yamiruler" as a sign to prohibit Rush Dueling. Yuag suggested they Duel to settle the matter, and Luke added the condition that Gavin would have to step down as Student Council President if he lost. Gavin agreed, eager to settle the matter immediately, but he was inundated with requests from student that took him until the evening to deal with. Although he was exhausted, Gavin still showed up to Duel Yuga, with Rayne and Rino assisting him so he could use his [[Sogetsu Style]]. Despite being able to Summon "Yamiruler" on his first turn, Gavin hesitated and simply Set a monster. Yuga brought Gavin to 2000 LP in one turn, but Gavin still hesitated to Summon "Yamiruler" and argued with Rayne. Yuga began laughing, as he was enjoying the Duel and he encouraged Gavin to do the same, and Gavin took his cards from Rayne and Dueled himself. He brought out "Yamiruler" and "[[Yurushima the Hermit (anime)|Yurushima the Hermit]]" and used "[[Shield & Sword (anime Rush Duel)|Shield & Sword]]" to set up his attacks, bringing Yuga to 300 LP. Despite the effect of "Yamiruler" preventing them from Tribute Summoning Level 7 or higher monsters, Yuga was able to use "[[Sevens Road Witch (anime)|Sevens Road Witch]]" to [[Special Summon]] "Sevens Road Magician" and defeat Gavin. Gavin honored his agreement and stepped down as Student Council President, thanking Rayne and Rino. However, he was instantly reinstated after defeating Luke in the emergency election.<ref name="ep4" />

Gavin noticed that more Rush Dueling videos had been deleted, and he and Yuga determined that Goha Corp were likely responsible. When they arrived at school, they were interviewed about Rush Dueling by the [[Newspaper Club]]; Luke volunteered to be interviewed. Yuga was confident that Goha Corp wouldn't be able to censor an analog publication so easily, though Gavin was skeptical and Romin warned them that the Newspaper Club didn't have the best reputation. To Gavin's fury, the article the Newspaper published insulted Rush Dueling, so Gavin attempted to use the authority of the Student Council to have it changed, though [[Masa]] and [[Cub]] refused to be censored. Yuga threatened to leak the paper to Goha and have it shut down, so the chief of the Newspaper Club, [[Scoop Pitman]] offered to Duel to decide the article contents. Luke accepted the Duel, much to Gavin's trepidation, but he was eventually able to defeat Scoop despite being reduced to 100 LP. The Newspaper Club released a new article that praised Rush Dueling, but also released an article depicting Luke lording it over his friends, much to Gavin's displeasure.<ref name="ep5">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|5|ref}}</ref>

The Newspaper printed an article stating the [[Ramen Hut]] was closing, so Gavin accompanied Yuga, Romin and Kaizo to the restaurant to investigate. They found [[Ramen Hut Owner|the owner]] despondent at the impending closure of the restaurant, begging them to order one final bowl of ramen from him. They instead went to [[GastroByte]] that was out-competing the Ramen Hut to see why it was more popular, but both Yuga and Gavin were refused entry; Yuga due to being considered a troublemaker, and Gavin due to being a chronic complainer, displeasing Gavin. Yuga sent Kaizo in to get information instead, but the information Kaizo provided sent the owner into shock. [[Saburamen]] then arrived, shocking Gavin with how upfront he was and ordering the last ramen, and agreeing to Duel Yuga for it. Gavin narrated both the Duel and the shopkeeper's process as he made the ramen, though this left him in range of hot water droplets when the shopkeeper drained the noodles. Yuga won the Duel, and he offered to split the last ramen among everyone, but Luke ate it before they could, much to Gavin's shock. Fortunately, the shopkeeper reassured them that the Rush Duel had inspired him to stay open, and his customer base subsequently improved. Gavin accompanied Yuga, Saburamen and the others to the Hologram Man's chamber so Saburamen could try to install Dueling rules of his own, but they found the Hologram Man's relic gone.<ref name="ep6">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|6|ref}}</ref>

A new student, [[Mimi Imimi]], transferred to Yuga's class. Gavin and the rest of the Student Council soon became suspicious of her as they were unable to learn which school Mimi had transferred from and he and Luke informed Yuga and Romin of their suspicions. Mimi approached them, stating that she knew about them due to the Goha 7th Newspaper and she offered them gifts to get to know them better, giving Gavin a VHS player that would allow him to watch older Sogetsu Style Duels. They took Mimi to visit the Road Laboratory, but she suddenly left in a hurry, much to their surprise. Suspecting she might return to steal Yuga's notebook, Gavin, Romin and Luke convinced Yuga to remain with them at the Road Laboratory and lie in wait for Mimi; sure enough, she did indeed return and attempted to steal the notebook. Gavin angrily returned the VHS player to Mimi, though she claimed she had simply wanted to learn more about Rush Duels, which Gavin told her was no excuse for stealing. To his shock, Yuga offered Mimi the notebook anyway, though Mimi refused to take it and they eventually decided to settle the matter with a Rush Duel. Gavin was surprised by Mimi's [[Bubble Era]] monsters being versions of legendary monsters and unaccustomed to their festive tropes, which caused him some confusion during the Duel. Yuga was eventually able to win the Duel and give Mimi his notebook, claiming that Mimi would love Rush Duels even more afterwards, much to Gavin's exasperation. The following day, he talked with Yuga about ways to make Rush Dueling more exciting, though Gavin was unable to think of an idea.<ref name="ep7">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|7|ref}}</ref>

Gavin joined Yuga, Luke and Kaizo to investigate the disappearance of the Hologram Man's monument, which Yuga dubbed "[[The Relic]]", but they were unable to find any clues. They headed for a vending machine to resist the heat, but Romin had emptied the nearest one and the one across the street was blocked away by [[Yosh Imimi]], who had a grudge against Luke and challenged him to a Rush Duel. Yosh called himself the King of Combat, a term Gavin and Luke assumed meant he was calling himself the King of Duels, so Luke arrogantly accepted his challenge. Though the Field Spell put Luke at a significant disadvantage, he was still able to deplete a large portion of Yosh's LP with "Multistrike Dragon Dragias", prompting Yosh to vow that he would win to have Luke convince his mother to let him Rush Duel. He explained that he had asked Luke for advice in the Goha 7th Newspaper, but when he'd interpreted Luke's advice to act like [[Good Max]], his mother had been horrified and threatened not to make Yosh's favorite meal. He destroyed "Dragias" and reduced Luke to 500 LP, but Luke was able to come back with a new ace monster, "[[Dragonic Slayer (anime)|Dragonic Slayer]]", bring back "Dragias", and defeat Yosh. After the Duel, Yosh expressed excitement over the Rush Duel despite his loss, though Gavin had to remind everyone they hadn't thought of a way to convince Yosh's mother to let him Rush Duel. Rumors spread on the internet of a dinosaur created by Goha Enterprises, "[[Gossie]]", though Gavin was skeptical of its existence. Nevertheless, he and Romin accompanied Yuga and Luke in searching for it using Kaizo to detect an adventurous spirit. They encountered [[Goha 2 Elementary|Goha #2 Elementary]]'s [[Duel Dinosaur Club]], who were also searching for Gossie, and teamed up with them to search, but their efforts were in vain until Gavin suggested Gossie might be nostalgic for something ancient like the Relic. Luke then learned the Duel Dinosaur Club intended to exploit Gossie for money, though Yuga offered to give them the location of the Relic if their president, [[Professor Diggs]], defeated him in a Rush Duel. During the Duel, Yuga stated that Diggs's adventurous spirit was genuine, leading Diggs to suggest they look for Gossie in good faith at the construction site it had first appeared, prompting Yuga to suddenly lose interest in looking for Gossie. Although Yuga defeated Diggs, they investigated the construction site anyway, where Gossie apparently appeared, but was simply heating pipes combined with Yuga's noise-cancelling Road. To make it up to Diggs and his friends, Yuga brought them to the Hologram Man's chamber, and [[Tracker]]'s sneeze revealed seven symbols carved in the ground; Gavin wondered if they were emblems.<ref name="ep9">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|9|ref}}</ref> As they examined the symbols, Luke suggested that one of them resembled "Dragias", but before they could decide further, Romin told them she was leaving, as she had a concert that weekend to prepare for, and she gave them VIP tickets to the concert, which would be held at the [[Big Seven Arena]].<ref name="ep10" />

Gavin bought flowers for Romin before the concert, and they went to her dressing room before the concert, though Luke was apparently scared by something in the halls of the disused building. He and Yuga both gave their gifts to Romin; Yuga having modified his noise-cancelling Road into a [[Duel Guitar]], but Luke was mortified that he hadn't brought anything for Romin and rushed off to find something, only to scream in fear soon afterwards. Gavin, Kaizo and Yuga found Luke scared in a dark corridor, claiming Romin was in danger, and she had vanished from the room when they returned. Gavin suggested Romin had gone to the bathroom, though Yuga noted they would have passed her in the corridor if she had. The concert then began, with the charismatic [[Roa Kassidy]], Romin's cousin, leading the event, while Romin herself was nowhere to be seen. Roa then invited Yuga on stage to Duel for the rights to Rush Dueling, and though Gavin was skeptical, Yuga agreed, as he didn't care about Rush Dueling and felt the Duel could be good for publicity. Roa brought them on stage, as he wanted a three-on-three team Duel, and Luke volunteered to Duel first, facing [[RoaRomin]]'s bassist, [[Toombs]]. Toombs told Luke ghost stories throughout the match, terrifying Gavin with his [[Zombie]] monsters, but Luke eventually declared that Toombs was using his name to scare him, having not realized what Toombs's name was. He defeated Toombs, and Gavin admitted that it had been a terrifying match.<ref name="ep10" />

Yuga was eager to Duel in the next match, but Gavin asked to Duel next, as he wanted to have them win without Yuga needing to Duel. To Gavin's shock, his opponent was Romin, who revealed she had been spying on them for Roa, though Gavin was impressed that Yuga had already deduced this. Gavin vowed not to hold back, though he believed Romin was conflicted over having to Duel her friend. Rayne and Rino arrived to hold his cards for him, and Gavin patiently reminded them he was now using Neo Sogetsu Style and drawing his own cards, which he sheepishly admitted he'd realized was faster. He Tribute Summoned "Yamiruler" on his first turn and used its effect to lock Romin down, preventing her from Tribute Summoning "Prima Guitarna". On his next turn, Gavin re-used the effect of "Yamiruler" and brought out two "[[Nandes the Fire Awakener (anime)|Nandes the Fire Awakener]]" to switch "Yamiruler" back into Attack Position, allowing him to destroy Romin's [[Set]] monsters and reduce her to 900 LP. Despite her predicament, Romin played the Duel Guitar during the Duel, which Gavin claimed was her true voice. Saburamen and his friends [[Sushiko Maki]] and [[Briscoe]] then arrived to cater for the event, and the abundance of food drove Romin into an obsessive hunger. She flipped "Yamiruler" face-down to dispel its effect and then Tribute Summoned "Prima Guitarna" and "[[Esperade the Smashing Superstar (anime)|Esperade the Smashing Superstar]]", increasing the ATK of her monsters and destroying most of Gavin's to defeat him. Gavin lamented his loss as Romin celebrated, but she snapped out of her hunger when she accidentally ejected a chocolate bar from the Duel Guitar and ate it. Roa then challenged Yuga to the final match of the team Duel.<ref name="ep11" />

After Gavin's Duel, Saburamen, Briscoe and Sushiko apologized to him and Yuga for their indirect role in his loss, though Gavin reassured them it wasn't their fault. Romin tried to warn Yuga not to Duel, causing Gavin to wonder if Roa had prepared a trap for Yuga, though Yuga Dueled Roa anyway. Roa Set his hand on the first turn, something Gavin noted was to keep his strategy a secret from Yuga. Yuga Summoned three high-Level monsters on his turn, a display that Gavin praised, though Roa criticized it as Yuga hadn't Summoned "Sevens Road Magician". He asked where Yuga had got the card, and Yuga revealed he had been given the card by the Hologram Man at the [[666th Goha Dueling Tournament]], where Otes had used it and been disqualified from the finals. Roa suggested that the Hologram Man had been disqualified because "Sevens Road Magician" was illegal, a claim Gavin dismissed as nonsense. A Goha executive then arrived, and Gavin felt like he had met her before, though she denied knowing him. Despite Gavin's initial dismissal of Roa's claims, "Sevens Road Magician" proved to be difficult to search for on the Goha website, and Gavin began to doubt Yuga. He, Rayne, and Rino found the rules on using disputed cards in their rulebooks as Roa clarified that if Yuga drew "Sevens Road Magician", he would be disqualified. Luke then convinced Gavin to believe in Yuga, and Gavin agreed that someone who didn't respect rules would not want to make new ones. They decided to ask around about "Sevens Road Magician", and Gavin contacted Scoop, but Scoop had no information for him. He returned to the Duel with Saburamen and Rino, who had also failed to find any information on "Sevens Road". Roa was able to empty Yuga's hand to ensure he drew more card on the next turn, and Yuga drew "Sevens Road Magician".<ref name="ep12">{{episode|SEVENS|12|ref}}</ref>

Before Yuga could be disqualified, the Relic suddenly emerged from the ground and the Duel Dinosaur Club arrived to examine it; Yuga explained they had examined the emblems they found and found that they formed the logo of Big Seven Arena, suggesting the Relic would appear there. The Relic projected the Hologram Man, who introduced himself as Otes and the Newspaper Club also arrived, revealing that Otes had been disqualified for being a Goha employee and that "Sevens Road" was legal. Roa had been blocking its information on the internet, something Gavin realized Roa must have known would be discovered, and was revealed to have been present with Yuga at the 60th Goha Duel Tournament when Otes entrusted "Sevens Road Magician" to Yuga. Despite Roa's actions and Gavin's skepticism, Yuga offered to Duel with the right to the title of King of Duels on the line. Yuga brought out "Sevens Road Magician" and "Sevens Road Witch", Gavin recalling the latter and noting that Otes had also created it, and he almost defeated Roa, but Roa was able to negate the attack of "Sevens Road Magician". Roa brought out his own ace monster, "[[Royal Rebel's Heavy Metal (anime)|Royal Rebel's Heavy Metal]]", weakening "Sevens Road Magician" and absorbing "Sevens Road Witch" with the effect of "Hevaymetal" and almost defeating him, shocking Gavin with his strength. Yuga was able to comeback the next turn with "Sevens Road Mage", defeating Roa, and Gavin was pleased that Rush Dueling was safe and Romin free. Yuga accepted the road to the King of Duels as the Relic sunk into the ground again, and later at the Road Laboratory, Gavin and Luke speculated on Romin's secret. Yuga arrived with juice, having deduced Romin's secret to be that she was tone-deaf, much to Romin's embarrassment.<ref name="ep13">{{episode|SEVENS|13|ref}}</ref>

Gavin went with [[Romin Kassidy|Romin]] to help her apologize to [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]] for spying on them, but Luke refused to talk to Romin, so they went to the [[Road Laboratory]] the next day to ask [[Yuga Ohdo|Yuga]] for advice. Yuga suggested cooking for Luke, and Gavin admitted that Luke certainly liked his food, though Romin admitted she wasn't much of a cook herself. Yuga had [[Kaizo]] determine Luke's favorite food to be curry rice, which Romin decided she would be able to make. After Yuga had to rush off after the excited Kaizo, Gavin offered his assistance, so Romin took him, [[Rayne Nanahoshi|Rayne]] and [[Rino Nanahoshi|Rino]] to [[Roa Kassidy's apartment|Roa's apartment]], where Romin was house-sitting for [[Roa Kassidy|Roa]]. It quickly became apparent to Gavin that Romin had no idea what she was doing after she caused a dust explosion by accident, so he, Rayne and Rino had to micromanage Romin to prepare the rice safely. When Romin prepared the curry however, she accidentally threw in the ingredients for gunpowder, much to Gavin's exasperation. Eventually Romin managed to cook the curry, though Gavin was still nervous given how many mistakes Romin had made and the curry's blue color. Rayne insisted Romin try the curry first, and Romin claimed it was delicious and served them helpings as well, though Gavin and his assistants found themselves unable to eat it. They were fortunately spared by the arrival of Luke, who Yuga had brought with him, and Luke was entranced by the smell of the curry and ate Gavin's serving, moved by how delicious it was. After Luke demanded seconds, Gavin finally tasted the curry and admitted that it was surprisingly tasty. Luke named the curry "[[Dragias Curry]]" after its color, so Romin tried to add spices to it to simulate the second attack of "[[Multistrike Dragon Dragias (anime)|Multistrike Dragon Dragias]]", but her additions flooded the entire apartment.<ref name="ep14" />

At school one day, Gavin was examining his Deck when Luke wondered why he couldn't see himself as the [[king of Games (title)|King of Duels]] lately. Gavin suggested that Yuga's recent desire to become the King himself was responsible, much to Luke's shock, though he claimed Yuga would still make him King, despite Gavin stating that was all in Luke's head. Kaizo then arrived and claimed it had determined where [[the Relic]] would next appear, leading them to the harbor. They boarded a boat to the island where the Relic was supposed to be, only to learn they were on board [[Goha Aquatic Elementary]], a ship Gavin explained the history of to his underclassmen. The ship's captain, [[Skipjack]], then found the [[Duel-cycle]]'s Robot Mode in one of his nets and accused Yuga of ocean pollution and challenged him to a [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Duel]]. As Skipjack and Yuga Dueled, Gavin explained more facts about the Fishing Elementary, including that the requirement to become captain was to catch the most fish. Yuga was pushed into a corner by Skipjack's "[[Hydro Cannon Big Bluefin (anime)|Hydro Cannon Big Bluefin]]" and "[[Bait Bite Ball (anime)|Bait Bite Ball]]", but managed to restore enough [[LP]] to survive Skipjack's attacks, though Gavin still believed that Yuga would win. Yuga was able to defeat Skipjack with a new monster, "[[Lightning Voltcondor (anime)|Lightning Voltcondor]]", and after Skipjack congratulated Yuga on his victory, Gavin informed him that Yuga had created Rush Dueling. Yuga then learned from the memory of the Duel-cycle that Kaizo's data had been replaced, with only a fragment surviving in the Duel-cycle; Gavin realized that Kaizo had tried to warn them of the danger they were in. The island they had been trying to get to was revealed to be nonexistent, and the fake Kaizo fled back to [[Goha City]]. After they got back to shore, Gavin accompanied Yuga, Luke and Romin in following Kaizo's transmitter, which led to [[GastroByte]].<ref name="ep15" /> Although they were unsure if they would be allowed in due to Gavin's prior altercation with a [[Goha Enterprises Drone]], [[Mimi Imimi|Mimi]] was able to get them into the restaurant, though she abruptly left for the bathroom. Gavin had a meal, but Luke devoured a ridiculous quantity of food which resulted in a massive bill due to the 66 yen promotion ending just before they finished. Luke rushed off after calling Romin a traitor when she criticized his decision-making, leaving Gavin, Romin and Yuga unable to pay for the meal and put to work washing dishes under the supervision of [[Buff Grimes]] to pay for their bill. As Gavin worried Luke wouldn't return, Romin accidentally knocked over a stack of plates, which would add a tremendous amount to their bill, but Grimes offered to forget their bill if they could defeat him in a Duel. Romin volunteered to Duel, believing the situation to be her fault, though Gavin stated this was Luke's fault and he should Duel. Though Romin [[Tribute Summon]]ed "[[Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar (anime)|Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar]]" on her first turn, Grimes swiftly overpowered Romin by repeatedly retrieving his "[[Bleach Mortar (anime)|Bleach Mortar]]", though Gavin noticed that Grimes was [[Set]]ting the card before activating it every time and then rubbing his [[Duel Disk]]. Yuga eventually accused Grimes of cheating, and Gavin demanded to examine Grimes's Duel Disk, though Grimes refused, claiming the Duel Disk should have detected the cheating. Luke then stepped into the room and used his Pauli effect-like power to deactivate the cheating function of Grimes's Duel Disk, and Gavin admonished Grimes for doing so, though Grimes was still able to legitimately return "Bleach Mortar" to the top of his Deck and destroy "Prima Guitarna". Luke then gloated over saving Romin, angering her as she had been when she defeated Gavin and she defeated Grimes using "[[Esperade the Smashing Superstar (anime)|Esperade the Smashing Superstar]]" and "[[Powerful Pierce!! (anime)|Powerful Pierce!!]]", which she had added to her Deck after seeing Gavin use. After the Duel, Gavin realized that being pushed to the limits of her patience could also send Romin over the edge, and after Grimes accidentally spilled the beans on Kaizo's location, they entered a strange room in the hall, where they were met by [[Nail Saionji]].<ref name="ep16">{{episode|SEVENS|16|ref}}</ref>

Nail revealed that he oversaw Goha Duels and they would be able retrieve Kaizo's data if they could defeat the Duelists in the [[Garden of Curiosity]], but their Dueling accounts would be deleted if they lost six times. They soon encountered the first Duelist, [[Kit Schrödinger]], who Luke agreed to Duel. Kit used card effects that forced Luke to declare the top card of his Deck, and though Gavin initially believed they wouldn't faze Luke, he was quickly proven wrong as Luke began to worry tremendously. Kit reduced Luke to 100 LP, and Gavin finally realized what was worrying Luke so much; whether Yuga would give him the Throne of the King if he became King of Duels. Gavin suggested Luke clear up his worries now by asking Yuga himself, and Yuga confirmed that he wouldn't give the title to Luke, though he encouraged him to win it himself. Energized by the resolution, Luke brought out "[[Piercing Dragon Bunker Strike (anime)|Piercing Dragon Bunker Strike]]" and drew then returned cards to the top of his Deck to ensure he knew the top card, a strategy that impressed Gavin. However, when it came time to guess the top card, Luke had already forgotten what cards he'd put on top of his Deck, much to Gavin's exasperation. Fortunately, Luke guessed correctly this time and defeated Kit, who Nail dropped through a trapdoor. Nail then sent Gavin and his friends home, telling them to return the next day.<ref name="ep17">{{episode|SEVENS|17|ref}}</ref>

The next day, Gavin, Luke and Romin discussed Nail at the Road Laboratory, as well as the fate of Kaizo should they fail to retrieve its data. Yuga then took them to the [[Hologram Man's chamber]] to search for clues to the "key" that [[Otes]] had mentioned, but Romin had to leave before they could find anything. Gavin, Yuga and Luke were then dropped into the Garden of Curiosity again, landing in the room where Luke had Dueled Kit and Nail appeared to them. Yuga asks Nail if he knew anything about the "key", but Nail claimed to know nothing. Gavin used the GPS on his phone to lead them towards the [[Goha Enterprises Main Office]], as Yuga speculated that Nail's haven was likely situated beneath it, and they eventually ran into [[Tyler Getz]], the drummer of [[RoaRomin]]. Romin and Roa then arrived, and Tyler Dueled Roa instead of them, claiming that Roa had mistreated him. Tyler quickly pushed Roa into a corner, but Roa sang to Tyler about how he was his friend before defeating him with "[[Royal Rebel's Invasion (anime)|Royal Rebel's Invasion]]". After his loss, Tyler was dropped down a trapdoor as Kit had been, but Roa tried to save him, claiming he was hopeless without Tyler. Gavin was immensely touched by Roa's words, but then Romin told them she had left earlier because Roa had asked her to get Yuga to make a drumming robot, something Luke blurted out. Tyler then let go of Roa, swearing revenge, and Nail then returned them to the surface, where Roa departed, amending his request to a Duel Disk drumset.<ref name="ep18">{{episode|SEVENS|18|ref}}</ref>

The following day Yuga told Gavin and the others about the [[Super Rush Robot]] he had seen in a dream, which he believed to be the key Otes spoke of. He revealed blueprints for the robot that included Kaizo as the cooling system in the crotch of the robot, something that upset Kaizo and he hopped out of the Road Laboratory. Gavin was surprised to find four [[Comforting Harmonious Massage Chairs]] outside, and he was soon convinced to try one after Luke impulsively did so, only to be brought down into the Garden of Curiosity by [[Seatbastian]], the A.I. in Nail's massage chair, who challenged Yuga to a Duel. Seatbastian began by Summoning 0 ATK monsters, and Gavin initially wondered if they had overestimated Seatbastian, only for him to [[Collapsing Chairs (anime)|destroy]] all the monsters on the field. He then combined his "[[Throne of Darkness (anime)|Throne of Darkness]]" with "[[Dahut, Dark Ruler of the Chair (anime)|Dahut, Dark Ruler of the Chair]]" to boost it to 4000 ATK, though Yuga was able to [[Curtain of Sparks (anime)|save himself]]. Seatbastian began to act erratically, something Gavin speculated was due to his failure to defeat Yuga, and he returned Yuga's "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" to his hand and hid it in Kaizo, then disguised the other cards in Yuga's hand as duplicates of Kaizo with his "[[Gate to the Throne]]" Trap. Although Gavin was tentative in his support of Kaizo, he agreed that they still loved him after Yuga was able to pick him out of the duplicates. Yuga defeated Seatbastian, returning them to the surface, where Gavin assured Kaizo they had been sincere in their declaration, while Yuga suggested making Kaizo a deodorizer on the Super Rush Robot's posterior instead.<ref name="ep19">{{episode|SEVENS|19|ref}}</ref>

[[Yosh Imimi|Yosh]] came to ask Luke for advice, and Gavin was pleased to see he had regained his confidence. They were then dropped into the Garden of Curiosity again, where they were challenged to a Duel by Number Six, the Goha executive who had appeared during Yuga's Duel with Roa, whose voice Gavin found familiar. Although Gavin was eager to Duel her, Yosh, who had been dropped underground with them, won their game of [[Rock-paper-scissors]] to decide who Dueled Number Six. Number Six's use of a "bubble-like" strategy to gain LP on her first turn caught Gavin's attention, and he began to suspect she was Mimi. Number Six pushed Yosh into a corner, telling him to surrender, but Yosh refused to give up, declaring that he wanted to grow up to be as strong as his mother, who still had big dreams even as an adult, and he defeated Number Six. Number Six's helmet broke after Yosh passed out from exhaustion, revealing that she was indeed Mimi, though Gavin was shocked to learn that she was Yosh's mother. They were all then penalized, as Nail explained the system had judged Mimi to be one of their friends, and Gavin called the tactic low, though Yuga didn't believe Nail had done so out of malice. After returning to the surface, Mimi asked them not to reveal her identity to Yosh, bribing Luke with coupons for GastroByte.<ref name="ep20">{{Episode|SEVENS|20|ref}}</ref>

The next day they gathered their friends at the Road Laboratory to explain why they had all been penalized, though no sooner had Gavin stopped Luke and Romin from squabbling after Luke called Mimi a traitorous spy, they were dropped into the Garden of Curiosity again, this time with [[Saburamen]]. They were approached by Mysterious M, who Gavin realized was Mimi and who told them that Nail's haven was in the [[Gate of Curiosity]]. After three hours, the group were no closer to finding the Gate, though Saburamen managed to find a ramen shop called [[Out of This World Ramen]], run by [[Celestia Noodlina]], who claimed to be an alien. After they had a bowl of ramen, Celestia challenged them to a Duel that Saburamen accepted. Saburamen gained an early lead, but Celestia revealed that her ship was powered by her LP and would be inoperable if she lost. Celestia Tribute Summoned her ace monster, "[[Cosmic String Noodryad (anime)|Cosmic String Noodryad]]" and pushed Saburamen into a corner, and Gavin noticed that Saburamen's earlier enthusiasm seemed to have faded, and was surprised when Luke deduced something was worrying him. Saburamen blurted out that he was torn between wining the Duel or sparing Celestia to journey around the galaxy with her to sample ramen, so Yuga encouraged Saburamen to choose his own path, and Saburamen regained his enthusiasm and defeated Celestia. After the Duel Celestia was transported away by a blue light, causing Gavin to wonder if she had been an alien after all. The group subsequently resumed their search for the Gate of Curiosity.<ref name="ep21">{{Episode|SEVENS|21|ref}}</ref>

Luke decided to treat his friends to a meal at GastroByte using the coupons Mimi had given him, though his power caused some difficulties around the restaurant. While they were eating, a waiter Drone splashed water on Luke and took him away to clean him up. After Gavin noted that Luke had been gone for a while, the holograms in their VIP room began to break down, and their screens showed Luke Rush Dueling Grimes, who was cheating again, though Gavin believed Luke would be fine, as he could use his power to stop Grimes's cheating. Yuga explained he believed the power was connected to [[Luke's wristwatch]], which Luke had lent to Yuga to look at before being kidnapped. After Gavin and Yuga failed to get the door open themselves, Yuga was able to use Kaizo to lever the door open and they managed to get to the dishwashing room as Grimes prepared to [[Deck out]] Luke. Yuga and Romin tried to invoke the power of Luke's watch, but were unable to, so Gavin tried to do so himself, though he also failed and Gavin was left ashamed at trying to invoke a devil. Luke decided to defeat Grimes with skill instead, and he was able to stop Grimes's combo with a Trap Card, then defeat him on his next turn with three of his ace monsters. After the Duel, Yuga tricked Grimes into revealing where the Gate of Curiosity was and Luke used his power to open the reinforced door, causing Gavin to wonder if his power was connected to a devil after all. Grimes was dropped down a trapdoor by Nail, and Gavin accompanied his friends to the Gate of Curiosity.<ref name="ep22">{{Episode|SEVENS|22|ref}}</ref>

When they arrived at the Gate, they were surprised to find a street of shops staffed by Drones selling items branded with providence, so Gavin suggested they take the opportunity to learn about Nail's providence. However, many of the goods the Drones sold differed from the normal, including suggesting a piece of a bun was a single one and having them use goldfish catching nets with no screens. As they continued to experience the shops, Gavin became more confused as to the definition of Nail's providence, but Yuga claimed he understood it, and they advanced into Nail's haven. They found the haven in ruins, only for Gavin to realize that the damage was simply [[Solid Vision]]. Nail and Seatbastian emerged to greet them, Nail claiming that they wouldn't be able to have the Rush Duel that Yuga wanted as Yuga would be unable to win. Despite going to severe lengths to protect one of his Trap Cards during his Duel with Yuga, Nail's "[[Quantum Hole (anime)|Quantum Hole]]" only allowed him to draw cards, though Gavin suspected Nail was trying to draw something specific. Nail's [[Cyberse]] monsters focused on this strategy too, and as Nail discussed what providence was, which he believed to be the source of all creation, Gavin realized that the names of Nail's monsters contained negative power denominations that continued to approach zero, and he tried to warn Yuga. But his warning came too late, as Nail [[Maximum Summon]]ed "[[Yggdrago the Sky Emperor‎‎ (anime)|Yggdrago the Sky Emperor‎‎‎‎]]" and defeated Yuga.<ref name="ep23" /> Nail explained that he had installed the Summoning method using a gap in the code of Rush Duels that Yuga himself had left in, a fact that Yuga confirmed when Gavin asked him about it. Nail then returned them to the surface, warning them that they had two penalties now.<ref name="ep24">{{episode|SEVENS|24|ref}}</ref>

Although Gavin, Romin and Luke had promised Yuga they would work with him to discover a way to defeat Maximum Summoning, Yuga was not at the Road Laboratory when they went there the next day. Gavin worried that Yuga had become depressed by his loss, and with the three of them unable to find Yuga, they decided to look for hints on how to defeat Maximum Summoning on their own. Gavin visited the library, the [[Newspaper Club]] to show [[Scoop Pitman|Scoop]], [[Masa]] and [[Cub]] a drawing of "Yggdrago", and the Student Council Room to look for information with Rayne and Rino, but they found no information. Rayne noted that there was likely no information on Maximum if it was as new as Gavin claimed, and Gavin realized that Otes was the most likely person who would know about Maximum Summoning and he headed to his chamber to contact him. To his surprise, Romin and Luke arrived as well, having had the same idea, and Otes appeared to them after they had gathered. He confirmed that he knew about Maximum Summoning and agreed to tell them how to defeat it if they all defeated him in a Rush Duel, though he warned them that the system would penalize them all regardless of the results, as Otes was counted as one of Yuga's allies. Despite the risk, Gavin, Romin and Luke all agreed to Duel, and Otes split in three to Duel them. Otes opposed Gavin with "[[Red-Eyes Black Dragon (anime Rush Duel)|Red-Eyes Black Dragon]]" and reduced his [[LP]] with "[[Inferno Fire Blast (anime Rush Duel)|Inferno Fire Blast]]". Gavin Tribute Summoned "[[Kimeruler the Dark Raider (anime)|Kimeruler the Dark Raider]]", but this allowed Otes to use "[[Black Dragon's Roar (anime)|Black Dragon's Roar]]" to increase the ATK and DEF of "Red-Eyes" and return "Inferno Fire Blast" to the top of his Deck, ensuring that Gavin would lose on his next turn. Remembering that he wanted to repay Yuga for everything he had done for him, Gavin gambled with "[[Blazing Chestnut (anime)|Blazing Chestnut]]" to increase the ATK of "Kimeruler" high enough to defeat Otes, but low enough that he would survive his Spell's negative effect, managing to excavate just the right monster to accomplish both. Gavin then switched "Red-Eyes" to Defense Position with "[[Block Attack (anime Rush Duel)|Block Attack]]", allowing "Kimeruler" to attack directly and defeat Otes. Romin and Luke won their Duels with Otes as well, and Otes congratulated them before vanishing, telling them that the hint to defeating Maximum was within them all along. As they considered Otes' words, they realized that all ''three'' of them had found the resolve to continue, and they wondered if this was what Otes meant.<ref name="ep24" /> Gavin, Luke, and Romin decided that Yuga's best chance to beat Nail would be to install Maximum Summoning himself, and that Yuga could rewrite their [[Duel ID cards]] into [[Maximum Monster]]s, so they returned to the Road Laboratory to wait for Yuga, who finally returned that evening and apologized to them.<ref name="ep25" /><ref name="ep24" /> Gavin reassured Yuga it was fine and encouraged him to accept their resolve, as it was all up to him now.<ref name="ep24" /> They explained their plan to Yuga, who was unwilling to rewrite their ID cards due to the prospect of erasing their accounts and preventing them from Dueling again, something that amused Gavin, who had thought Yuga would agree instantly. After Luke convinced Yuga to accept their offer, Yuga hacked into Gavin, Luke and Romin's Duel Disks to eject their ID cards, but they were interrupted by a Goha Enterprises Drone that had detected the action, which Gavin struck down and deactivated, allowing them to proceed without further interrupting and add the ejected ID cards to Yuga's Deck.<ref name="ep25" />

Yuga took them to the Goha Enterprises Main Office, prompting Gavin to assume Yuga was going to beg forgiveness from the [[Goha President]] until Romin and Yuga pointed out that was unlikely. Yuga clarified he wanted to visit the [[Goha Duel Museum]], which Gavin theorized to be in case Yuga was unable to defeat Nail. As they explored the Duel History exhibit, Nail and Seatbastian arrived and Gavin was mortified both by Luke mistaking Nail for a model and Nail noting Luke's low grades. Nail challenged Yuga to a rematch, and Yuga accepted, beginning with a strong defensive formation that Gavin praised. Nail began cycling through his cards again on his next turn, Gavin noting the danger of the strategy, and he Maximum Summoned "Yggdrago the Sky Emperor", taking them to the roof due to the Maximum Monster's massive size. Yuga tried to destroy it with [[Magiquartet Shock (anime)|a Trap]], but "Yggdrago" could not be destroyed by Traps and Nail explained that it was three monsters as one, and thus had three effects. Nail used the effects, including the one he had defeated Yuga with, to tear down his defenses, though Yuga was still able to survive the turn unharmed with [[Trick Guard|his other Trap]]. Gavin worried that Yuga would be unable to hold out for much longer, but Yuga was able to draw their ID cards on his next turn and rewrite them into Maximum Monsters, though his Duel Disk became unable to bear the strain of the [[Real-Time Duel Programming|Real-Time Rush Duel Programming]]. Kaizo then volunteered to be used; Gavin realizing that his processing power could be used to complete the installation. Yuga was able to successfully do so, and Gavin joined Yuga in Maximum Summoning "[[Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord (R) (anime)|Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord [R]]]".<ref name="ep25" /> Yuga used the effect of "Magnum Overlord [R]" to increase the ATK of "[[Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord (anime)|Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord]]" higher than "Yggdrago", but Nail was able to protect "Yggdrago" from being destroyed and inflict the damage to Yuga as well, though the effect of "Magnum Overlord" protected itself from Nail's [[Absurd Void Hole|Trap]]. Nail powered-up "Yggdrago" on his next turn and attacked, Gavin protecting Luke and Romin from the blast. Yuga was able to negate the attack by [[Emergency Return (anime)|returning]] "Magnum Overlord" to his hand, but before he could re-Maximum Summon "Magnum Overlord", Nail [[Paradigm Shift|returned it to his Deck]], forcing him to hold out with "Sevens Road Magician" and "[[Sevens Road Witch (anime)|Sevens Road Witch]]", though Nail was again able to protect "Yggdrago" and restored his LP to 4000. As Nail told them that this would be the last Rush Duel after reducing Yuga to 100 LP, Seatbastian reported that many other elementary students had declared their support for Yuga and also been penalized, much to Gavin's surprise. Yuga was able to use card effects to re-draw his Maximum cards, but Nail returned them to the Deck again, though Yuga was able to draw it for a third time and Maximum Summon it. Nail reminded Yuga that his "[[Pair Destruction]]" Trap that they'd seen earlier that turn was still Set, which would cause a [[DRAW]]. Fortunately, Yuga was able to power-up "Magnum Overlord" even further with the final effect of "Magnum Overlord", allowing him to defeat Nail. After the Rush Duel, Seatbastian returned Kaizo to them and he revealed that he had been Dueling with five penalties as well and that his account had been deleted, though Gavin's Duel ID was restored from "Magnum Overlord [R]".<ref name="ep26">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! ===Goha #6 Elementary===
Gavin walked to school early with [[Romin Kassidy|Romin]], who had woken up with a bad feeling, though this time they had both been beaten by [[Yuga Ohdo|Yuga]]. Gavin and Romin met Yuga on the roof, finding him deep in thought, and Yuga explained that he had been remembering his Duel with [[Nail Saionji|Nail]], thanking Gavin and Romin for helping him win. [[Kaizo]] then arrived, crying that something bad had happened to the [[Goha 7 Elementary Student Council|Student Council]] Room. To Gavin's horror, [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]] had turned the Student Council Room into a clubroom for his new [[Rush Duel Club|Luke Club]] and he dubbed Gavin the second member, but Gavin refused to join as he was uncomfortable with the prospect. Throughout the day, Gavin saw Luke trying to recruit members for his Club, including when he passionately defended Rush Dueling to the sports players. After school, Gavin, Yuga and Romin eavesdropped on Luke through the door and listened to him laughing. They found him Dueling himself, and Gavin was intrigued by Luke's new "[[Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias (anime)|Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias]]" card. Having seen Luke's passion, Gavin told him that the Student Council would officially install the club as the Rush Duel Club and agreed to join, with Gavin challenging Romin to a Duel.<ref name="ep27">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|27|ref}}</ref>

Luke received an invitation to a [[Dark Rush Duel Tournament|Rush Duel Tournament]], and he eagerly signed the Rush Duel Club up for a [[Rush Duel Training Camp]] to prepare for it. [[Seatbastian]] applied to be an advisor for the club so that they would be permitted to attend the camp, so Gavin travelled with his fellow club members to the club's location where they met with [[Saburamen]], [[Briscoe]], [[Sushiko Maki|Sushiko]], the [[Duel Dinosaur Club]] and [[Goha 5 Elementary|Goha #5 Elementary's]] [[Battle Bug Club]], Gavin trying to mediate the tension between Kaizo and Seatbastian. Gavin was quickly tired out by Luke's training, and exasperated at Luke's logic of taking it easy on Romin to make her impatient and hone her enraged state, though he noticed that Yuga had disappeared. Yuga returned that evening, having encountered [[Asana Mutsuba]] from [[Goha 6 Elementary|Goha #6 Elementary's]] [[Heavy Cavalry Duel Club]], a club Gavin had heard outranked their school's Student Council and who the Duel Dinosaur Club had clashed with in the past. They were then interrupted by Romin and Sushiko arguing over the television remote, as there was only one television in the cabin. Yuga suggested they Rush Duel to see who got the remote; though Sushiko's tactics of restoring her opponent's [[LP]] impeded Romin's usual strategy, Romin eventually "awakened". As they Dueled, Luke turned the T.V. on to see an advertisement for the show Sushiko wanted to watch which was guest-starring [[Princess G]], who Gavin recalled was the guitarist who had given Romin her "[[Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar (anime)|Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar]]" card, and the distraction snapped Romin out of her enraged state. Sushiko was able to survive Romin's attacks and defeat her, before Briscoe came in with dinner for them all.<ref name="ep28">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|28|ref}}</ref> On the third day at the camp after everyone else had left, Gavin, Yuga, Luke, and Romin were stranded at the cabin due to a massive trench that had been dug around it, and they were out of food due to Luke eating it all the previous night. Yuga sent Kaizo to get help from Seatbastian and the manager, and Gavin also pointed out that [[Rayne Nanahoshi|Rayne]] and [[Rino Nanahoshi|Rino]] were on their way as well, but neither Kaizo nor the twins came to the cabin. They were finally rescued that evening by [[Galian Townsend]] from the Heavy Cavalry Club; Gavin asked Galian if he had seen Rayne and Rino, but Galian claimed not have. Afterwards they went to find Kaizo for failing to come back for them.<ref name="ep29">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|29|ref}}</ref>

Gavin received a postcard from Rayne and Rino, who had gone on holiday to the hot springs, which he showed to Yuga, Romin and Kaizo after the training camp. Luke then arrived with their entry form for the Rush Duel Tournament, but was revealed to have accidentally entered them into the "Trumpet Duet Tournament" instead, much to Gavin's shock, particularly as he'd sent a notice of entry to the school. Yuga suggested they enter anyway, so they visited the [[Music Club]] to get instruction in wind instruments, though Luke exhibited uncharacteristic fear of the clubroom. They were then attacked by karakuri dummies, the members of the club, before the president, Luke's sister [[Tiadosia Kallister|Tiger]] returned. Tiger agreed to help them if they could defeat her, so Yuga challenged her to a Rush Duel despite Tiger informing them that she had defeated Luke in the past. Gavin was impressed by the efficiency of Tiger's strategy, though he was surprised by her passionate declaration that breathing was the most important part of martial arts. He praised Yuga's counterattacks, but was shocked when Tiger used the effect of "[[Nuncharinet the Music Princess (anime)|Nuncharinet the Music Princess]]", which could potentially sap "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" of most of its [[ATK]], though fortunately Tiger failed to send the required card to activate the effect and Yuga was able to remain in the Duel. Yuga defeated Tiger, and she began training Gavin and the others in wind instruments as she had promised she would.<ref name="ep30">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|30|ref}}</ref>

On the day of the Trumpet Duet Tournament, Gavin and his friends went to the disheveled building where the tournament was being held, Gavin carrying the group's instruments. As they headed to the room holding the tournament, Gavin noted the building resembled a school, though he was surprised to find students from Goha #6 Elementary were Rush Dueling there and that the Trumpet Duet Tournament was really the "[[Dark Rush Duel Tournament]]", organized by former [[Goha #6 Elementary Student Council]] president [[Janko Entant]] in the old Goha #6 Elementary campus. To Gavin's surprise, Janko had an odd seizure that he explained was due to his body requiring cards to draw, and he explained how the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club had kicked him out of the Student Council. Angered that his instrument practice had been for nothing, Luke challenged Janko to a Rush Duel to punish him. Janko's use of an ant-based Deck prompted Yuga and Romin to accidentally make several ant-based buns during the course of the Duel, much to Gavin's exasperation, though he eventually fell into the trap himself. Janko's tactic of powering up his weaker ant monsters based on their numbers almost defeated Luke, but Luke was able to defeat him with the similarly inspired "[[Insurrection Dragon (anime)|Insurrection Dragon]]".<ref name="ep31">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|31|ref}}</ref> After the Duel, the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club broke down the wall of the old Goha 6th campus, and Gavin met the club's president, Asana Mutsuba, for the first time, becoming bewildered by her love of machines. Asana opposed Rush Dueling due to being a "modification" (something Gavin noted angered Kaizo), so Yuga challenged her to a Rush Duel to allow the students of Goha #6 Elementary to Rush Duel freely, a challenge Gavin and Janko noted that Asana could not refuse due to her school's traditions. Gavin was shocked that Asana appeared to use [[Dragon]] monster, only to be corrected by Luke that they were [[Wyrm]]s. Asana pushed Yuga into a corner, but Yuga was able to make a comeback, only for Asana to [[Maximum Summon]] "[[Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco (anime)|Wyrm Excavator the Heavy Cavalry Draco]]" and defeat Yuga. As the conditions for their loss, Gavin and his friends were forced to transfer to Goha #6 Elementary, and Gavin was reunited with Rayne and Rino, who tearfully explained that they had also been forced to transfer to Goha #6 Elementary, much to Gavin's shock.<ref name="ep32">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|32|ref}}</ref>

On his first day at Goha #6 Elementary, Gavin was exhausted by the school's traditional morning run and complained that it was inefficient for Student Council duties, only to be reminded by Galian that he was no longer a Student Council President, sending him into seizures akin to Janko's until Rayne snapped him out of it, reminding him that he was still the heir to [[Sogetsu Style]]. After school that day, Kaizo came to Yuga in disguise to inform him of something while Gavin and his friends concealed the Drone, and Yuga suggested they challenge the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club to a Rush Duel for the freedom to Rush Duel freely. Gavin celebrated the notion of returning to Goha #7's Student Council, but they were opposed by Galian and [[Schubel Quill]]. Gavin challenged Galian to a Rush Duel, both to return to Goha #7 and to avenge Rayne's loss to him. Although Galian was able to damage Gavin on his first turn, Gavin was able to gain an early lead by combining the effect of "[[Yamiruler the Dark Delayer (anime)|Yamiruler the Dark Delayer]]" and "[[Shield & Sword (anime Rush Duel)|Shield & Sword]]" to destroy Galian's "[[Drilling Mandrill (anime)|Drilling Mandrill]]". Galian [[Darkness Approaches (anime Rush Duel)|flipped]] "Yamiruler" face-down to dispell its effect and Special Summoned "[[Shield Boring Kong (anime)|Shield Boring Kong]]" to destroy it and increase its own ATK, sending Gavin into a seizure again, but Gavin retained enough agency to change "Shield Boring Kong" to [[Defense Position]] to save himself. His friends praised his move, telling Gavin that he was still himself even if he wasn't the Student Council President anymore, and Gavin likewise thanked Galian for the Rush Duel that had reminded him of this. After Galian returned "Shield Boring Kong" to Attack Position and vastly increased its ATK, Gavin Tribute Summoned "[[Semeruler the Dark Summoner (anime)|Semeruler the Dark Summoner]]", using its effect to Special Summon "[[Yurushima Sage (anime)|Yurushima Sage]]" and change "Shield Boring Kong" back to Defense Position, allowing Gavin to destroy it with "[[Umegumi the Ruler's Squad (anime)|Umegumi the Ruler's Squad]]" and defeat Galian with "Semeruler", also destroying Galian's [[Heavy Cavalry]], GG03. After the Duel Galian left Goha #6 Elementary, but Asana refused to allow Gavin and his friends to leave after discovering that Yuga and Kaizo had been placing Roads across the campus. To Gavin's despondence, they were sent to the [[Abandoned Dorm (SEVENS)|Abandoned Dorm]], even further from Goha #7, though Yuga explained he had wanted to be sent there to gain access to the mine at the dorm, which he believed contained the secrets of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club.<ref name="ep33" />

While they worked at the mine, Galian joined them in their labors, having decided to start from the basics, though his carressing of his shovel caused Gavin to realize he was in shock from losing GG03. As they broke for lunch, Gavin asked Yuga what his plan was given all the high security, and Yuga reminded him that the security only applied to them, but not to Seatbastian and Kaizo, who he had sent to find Nail to ask where Asana had received her [[Maximum Monster]]s while disguising Roads as them, though they had to stop the oblivious Luke from trying to get a massage from Seatbastian. Later that day an alarm went off, causing the group to realize that Kaizo and Seatbastian had escaped successfully, and Gavin and his friends seized their chance to escape into the mine, using their Duel Disk lights to see in the darkness.<ref name="ep34">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|34|ref}}</ref> As they moved through the mine, Yuga revealed that he was using Kaizo's spare parts to trace their steps, a plan that impressed Gavin, though it was to no avail as Luke had been thoughtlessly picking them up to make a monster. They soon began to tire, though fortunately [[Tracker]] arrived with Kaizo, having been sent by Nail to help them find a cache of prototype Duel Disks buried in the outskirts of Goha City that Nail theorized could explain Asana's Maximum. Tracker began sniffing around, which Gavin recalled was how his excavation ability worked, and his sneeze opened an underground hallway.<ref name="ep35">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|35|ref}}</ref> As they headed down the hallway, Rayne slipped in a puddle, much to Gavin's alarm, though fortunately Yuga was able to catch her. The hallway led them to the Heavy Cavalry Colosseum, where Schubel and [[Pidgetrap Quill|Pidgetrap]] were waiting for them. An exhausted Galian was also there, and he challenged them to a Duel to prevent them from passing with his place at Goha #6 Elementary on the line, but he passed out and Rayne caught him, then challenged them in his place. After Rino accepted the Duel, Gavin arranged for Luke to serve as his Sogetsu style attendant. Gavin praised the skills of both the twins throughout the Duel, especially when Rino was able to end the Duel in a perfect [[DRAW]], allowing Galian to remain at Goha 6th.<ref name="ep36">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|36|ref}}</ref> As there had been no victor, Schubel insisted on another Duel, and Luke accepted his challenge as he felt responsible for falling for Asana's trap, though Gavin found it difficult to bear his gullibility as Schubel and Pidgetrap continued to trick Luke. Pidgetrap ended up Dueling Luke instead of Schubel, and his Trap Cards quickly put pressure on Luke, much to Gavin's concern. Fortunately Schubel and Pidgetrap began arguing after Schubel made a move on his own and Luke was eventually able to snap out of his funk and Tribute Summon "Miragias and defeat Pidgetrap due to Schubel's prior mistake. After the Duel Luke continued talking in bird noises as he had with Pidgetrap, which Gavin and Yuga had to translate for Romin as they continued on.<ref name="ep37">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|37|ref}}</ref>

Gavin and his friends finally reached the mine, where Tracker quickly uncovered a prototype Duel Disk. After Yuga and Tracker dug up enough prototype Duel Disks for Yuga to extract three [[Duel ID cards]] and add them to his Deck, Gavin and Yuga discussed how Asana had likely created her own Maximum with Duel ID cards from the mine. Asana and the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club then arrived and she confirmed Yuga's theory, informing them that most of the Duel ID cards in the Duel Disks couldn't be used due to their age. Asana challenged Yuga to another Duel, agreeing to allow the students of Goha #6 Elementary to Rush Duel freely if she lost as she had when they last Dueled, but with the condition that Rush Dueling would be banned at all elementary schools in Goha City if she won. Yuga was barely able to fend off "Wyrm Excavator", and Asana revealed that she knew Yuga was planning on using "[[Yggdrago the Sky Emperor (anime)|Yggdrago the Sky Emperor]]" against her and urged him to Summon it, though Yuga confirmed that he'd added the three Duel ID cards to his Deck and was gambling on being able to recreate "[[Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord (anime)|Supreme Machine Magnum Overlord]]". To Gavin's joy, Yuga succeeded in drawing and Maximum Summoning "Magnum Overlord", and Gavin marveled at its size as Yuga powered it up and attacked "Wyrm Excavator". However, Asana was able to make the ATK of their Maximum Monsters equal, and as they destroyed one another Asana and Yuga's Maximum cards began to disintegrate; Gavin noting that it wasn't a surprise and ruling that whoever's Maximum was destroyed first would take the ATK of the other.<ref name="ep38">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|38|ref}}</ref> Both Maximums were destroyed at the same time, allowing the Duel to continue, but as Asana pushed Yuga into a corner with "[[Constructor Wyrm Buildragon (anime)|Constructor Wyrm Buildragon]]", R6 began to break down and Asana revealed that parts for Heavy Cavalry were no longer manufactured. Gavin realized that using other parts would count as a modification, which the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club forbade, but was mortified at by Luke's casual dismissal of the club's traditions and tried to apologize for him. Asana revealed that [[Goha Enterprises]] had offered to remanufacture the parts if she crushed Rush Dueling and attempted to defeat Yuga there and then, but Yuga was able to endure the turn and make a comeback with "[[Steel Mech Lord Mirror Innovator (anime)|Steel Mech Lord Mirror Innovator]]". The sight of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club working together to keep R6 intact gave Gavin second thoughts about Yuga defeating them, though Yuga still defeated Asana, destroying R6. After the Duel, Yuga uncovered a room that reminded Gavin of the [[Road Laboratory]] containing [[R0]], a mobile Duel Device constructed and modified by [[Mutsuba Heavy Machinery]]. Following [[Asana Mutsuba|Asana]]'s defeat, Gavin and his friends returned to [[Goha 7 Elementary|Goha #7 Elementary]], where Gavin was mortified to find the [[Goha 7 Elementary Student Council|Student Council]] room had fallen into disrepair while he was gone. As he and [[Rino Nanahoshi|Rino]] began to clean the room up, they had to remind [[Rayne Nanahoshi|Rayne]] to join them. [[Romin Kassidy|Romin]] then revealed that her idol [[Gwendoline Purdy|Princess G]] had been fired by [[Goha Enterprises]] for speaking out in favor of [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Dueling]] and remained despondent throughout the day. Gavin came to see the younger students during recess, noting the entertaining clumsiness of [[Yuga Ohdo|Yuga]] and Romin's student  teacher Gwendoline Purdy, but was shocked when Romin declared her intention to quit Rush Dueling after one last Duel with Yuga. Gavin and [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]] cheered Romin on throughout the Duel, but were consistently told off by her for doing so. Romin was able to make a comeback with "[[Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar (anime)|Prima Guitarna the Shining Superstar]]" and insisted she didn't want to rely on awakening to win a Duel, impressing Gavin. Defeating Yuga, Romin ran into the nearby room where she had heard music playing, and Gavin begged her not to quit Rush Dueling, only for Romin to inform him that she had decided not to.<ref name="ep40">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! One day at school, Gavin, Luke and Romin learned that a [[Maximum Monster]] had been found in a booster pack and they quickly called Yuga over to inform him. Before class, Gavin, Yuga and Luke discussed the notion that Goha could be accepting Rush Duels if they were printing official Maximum Monsters, but to their shock, Rayne informed them that she wanted to graduate from the Student Council and the [[Sogetsu Style]]. Gavin told Rayne to explain her decision to him at recess, but also had to deal with the power-hungry Luke and [[Kaizo]] making a bid for Rayne's position. Rayne refused to give Gavin answer as to why she was leaving, claiming she no longer had to answer him, so Gavin challenged her to a Rush Duel to give her the right to graduate. Rayne kept Gavin waiting in the dojo after school, but eventually showed up and mocked Gavin as he was about to Summon "[[Yamiruler the Dark Delayer (anime)|Yamiruler the Dark Delayer]]", much to his anger. Rayne was able to prevent Gavin from using the effect of "Yamiruler" in combination with "[[Nandes the Fire Awakener (anime)|Nandes the Fire Awakener]]" and continued to mock Gavin as she pressured him with her two "[[Etraynze the Shadow Flower Ninja (anime)|Etraynze the Shadow Flower Ninja]]" and "[[Gajumaru the Shadow Flower Lion (anime)|Gajumaru the Shadow Flower Lion]]", unnerving him with her dramatic manner. Gavin was barely able to remain in the Duel and Rino explained that Rayne believed herself responsible for Gavin abandoning Sogetsu Style. Determined to Duel in a more distinguished manner, Gavin brought out "[[Semeruler the Dark Summoner (anime)|Semeruler the Dark Summoner]]", only for Rayne to prevent him from using its effect as he had "Yamiruler", so instead he [[Tribute Summon]]ed "[[Icezark the Unequaled (anime)|Icezark the Unequaled]]" and used it to revive "Semeruler", then use the effect of "Semeruler" to [[Special Summon]] "[[Takegumi the Ruler's Squad (anime)|Takegumi the Ruler's Squad]]" and increase the [[ATK]] of "Icezark" high enough to destroy "Gajumaru", defeating Rayne. Though Gavin had won and Rayne had realized how she had misinterpreted the situation, she still left his service for her actions. Afterwards Yuga and Romin tried to cheer Gavin up, but Gavin was shocked to find that Luke and Kaizo had been abusing their perceived power to paint the school the color of "[[Multistrike Dragon Dragias (anime)|Multistrike Dragon Dragias]]". After [[Tiadosia Kallister|Tiger]] put Luke in his place, a girl resembling [[Celestia Noodlina]] appeared on the school's videoscreens, claiming to be [[Prioria Sweetalina]] and revealing the [[Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal]], prompting Gavin to wonder if Goha really ''had'' accepted Rush Dueling.<ref name="ep41">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|41|ref}}</ref>

Gavin was eager to enter the tournament, though cautious over its purpose and frustrated by Luke taking it lightly. He was concerned over whether he or Romin would enter, but Yuga reassured them that he didn't want to enter the tournament, so both of them could enter with Luke. Angered by Yuga's decision, Luke almost hit him before running off, and Gavin and Romin went after him. They eventually realized that Luke had likely gone to the [[Maximum Mountain|Mutsuba mine]] to search for [[Maximum Monster]]s and found him there with the [[Heavy Cavalry Duel Club]], [[Tracker]] and [[Goha 5 Elementary|Goha #5 Elementary's]] [[Duelstronauts]]. They all discussed Yuga's motive for not joining the tournament and theorized that he likely didn't want to prevent them from joining the tournament before entering the mine to search for Maximum Monsters. However their excavation ended in failure, and they reported back to Yuga in the [[Road Laboratory]] at the end of the day, who told them he would follow them in the tournament.<ref name="ep42">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|42|ref}}</ref> Gavin and Romin later Dueled Luke over the right to name their team, but Luke defeated them both and chose to name their team "Team King Luke's Kings".<ref name="ep45">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! Gavin, Romin, Luke and Yuga went to [[Goha Stadium]] on the day of registration, where Luke began suggesting that Gavin or Romin could still step down for Yuga. As Luke boasted, Gavin, Romin and Yuga noticed [[Otes|a cloaked man]] in the crowd and pursued him, but ran into [[Mimi Imimi|Mimi]] dressed as tournament mascot Kid Goha, who asked Yuga if the tournament had been his idea, inadvertently revealing that the tournament ''hadn't'' been Goha's idea. Luke took them to register, where they found [[Schubel Quill|Schubel]] and [[Galian Townsend|Galian]] trying to register with [[Pidgetrap Quill|Pidgetrap]] as their third team member due to Asana's fever. Luke suggested that Yuga substitute for Asana instead, though Yuga was still unwilling until Otes arrived and challenged him to a Duel, cryptically hinting at the true purpose of the tournament. Otes overpowered Yuga with "[[Summoned Skull (anime Rush Duel)|Summoned Skull]]" and cautioned him against stopping on his Road and allowing Rush Dueling to become as static as Goha Dueling. Yuga was able to recover "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" using a new "[[Sevens Road]]", "[[Sevens Road Warlock (anime)|Sevens Road Warlock]]", but Otes returned the monsters in his Graveyard to his Deck to prevent him from powering-up "Sevens Road Magician"; Yuga was able to instead increase its ATK with "[[Sevens Twin Burst]]" and defeat Otes. After the Duel Gavin asked Otes what he had meant about the true purpose of the tournament, but Yuga decided to learn that by Dueling in the tournament, deciding to join Galian and Schubel's team. Otes was then arrested due to his disqualification from the [[666th Goha Dueling Tournament]] and taken away, telling Yuga that his Road would always be in his heart.<ref name="ep43">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|43|ref}}</ref>

At the opening ceremonies of the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal, Gavin took note of Goha's attempts to make Rush Dueling seem like their product and that Mimi seemed to have become the new [[Goha President]]. To his surprise, [[Roa Kassidy|Roa]], [[Tyler Getz|Tyler]] and [[Toombs]] interrupted Mimi's speech as Team Roa and Tyler and Toombs, prompting Gavin to comment on Roa's poor naming sense. Roa challenged Mimi to a Duel for the right to talk to the captive Otes, and she accepted his challenge, much to Gavin's surprise. Gavin was also surprised by the change in Mimi's Deck, which proved to be crippling for Roa's Tribute Summoning Deck and pushed him into a corner. Fortunately Roa was able to make a comeback, bringing out his two ace monsters, but then Tributed them for "[[Royal Rebel's Doom Metal (anime)|Royal Rebel's Doom Metal]]", allowing him to defeat Mimi. To Gavin's shock, Otes was revealed to have escaped, and Tyler and Toombs left Roa over his treatment of them. Schubel and Galian then had to withdraw from the tournament as well, having been called to Asana's side by [[Caterpillio Elephantis]], so Yuga and Roa formed a team together, and to Gavin's utter shock, they called [[Nail Saionji|Nail]] in to serve as their third member.<ref name="ep44">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|44|ref}}</ref>

Although Gavin, Romin, and Luke initially easily climbed to the top of the leaderboard on the first day of the tournament, they were soon overtaken by Team YNR, which Gavin had expected. They met Yuga, Roa and Nail at the [[Ramen Hut]], where Luke confronted Yuga over "abandoning" him, much to Gavin's irritation. As they discussed  Tracker, [[Professor Diggs|Diggs]] and [[Trench]] then arrived, Tracker having become far wealthier since Romin had last seen them and their team being third on the leaderboard, and Tracker challenged Yuga to a Duel. Gavin watched Yuga and Tracker's Rush Duel, disgusted by Tracker's use of "[[Sneezing Greedizauls (anime)|Sneezing Greedizauls]]". To his shock, Tracker [[Maximum Summon]]ed "[[Dynamic Dino Dynamix (anime)|Dynamic Dino Dynamix]]", and Rayne, who had offered her services to Nail, revealed that Tracker, Diggs and Trench had been distributing Maximums. Luke's seething rage over the matter intimidated Diggs and Trench into confessing that Tracker had strip-mined Maximum Mountain, but Yuga revealed that Nail, Roa and Asana had given him the pieces to create a new Maximum Monster, "[[Hyper Engine Vast Vulcan (anime)|Hyper Engine Vast Vulcan]]", and defeated Tracker. After the Duel, Gavin asked Nail to take care of Rayne, though Nail and [[Seatbastian]] insisted they take her back, while Tracker, Diggs and Trench apologized, and Tracker admitted he'd had help from an individual calling himself "[[Goha 66 (character)|Goha 66]]".<ref name="ep45"/>

Gavin and his friends decided to investigate [[Goha 66]]; while Yuga, Roa and Nail searched the Goha Enterprises database for information, Gavin, Romin, and Luke headed for Maximum Mountain. They came upon several Duelists who had been eliminated from the tournament and who tried to re-enter the tournament by Dueling them despite Gavin's protests that the tournament didn't have a revival rule, and though Gavin defeated a number of them, he was eventually exhausted by his opponents. Fortunately they were rescued by [[Saburamen]], [[Briscoe]], [[Sushiko Maki|Sushiko]], the [[Newspaper Club]] and the [[Post-Apocalyptic Club]], who had been sent by Rino, and at [[Scoop Pitman|Scoop]]'s suggestion, Gavin, Romin, and Luke fled with Saburamen, Briscoe and Sushiko. They soon came upon a Stonehenge that hade been made of cake by Prioria Sweetalina, which the starving Romin and Luke proceeded to devour. Prioria revealed that she had been ordered by Goha 66 to oppose them, and Gavin intended to accept her challenge until Sushiko reminded him that he was exhausted and offered to Duel instead; Briscoe ended up Dueling Prioria for breaking Saburamen's heart over denying she was Celestia. Gavin was worried when Prioria pushed Briscoe into a corner, but Sushiko reassured him that Briscoe had a fire lit beneath him, and Briscoe passionately defeated Prioria. After the Duel Briscoe and Prioria bonded, but Prioria had to return to her era.<ref name="ep46">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|46|ref}}</ref> After the Duel they continued onto Maximum Mountain, though they were held up by the now-full Luke and Romin until they fell from a rope bridge and swam off their meal. Eventually they arrived at the [[Abandoned Dorm (SEVENS)|Abandoned Dorm]], where they were opposed by Tyler, Toombs and Kaizo, now piloting a robot body and siding with Goha 66. Kaizo challenged Luke to a Duel over the abuse he had suffered at his and Yuga's hand, declaring his intention to modify Gavin, Luke, and Romin into his personal servants; he intended to modify Gavin into his chauffeur. To Gavin's surprise, Kaizo was able to give Luke significant trouble with his business Dueling strategy, though Luke eventually defeated him. After the Duel, Kaizo tried to escape, but Luke disabled him using his power and took him with them to Maximum Mountain, where they found that Tiger and the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club had defeated Goha 66. Luke turned on Kaizo's confession switch to reveal that Goha 66 were trying to take control of the main Dueling server to take over Goha Enterprises and the Dueling world, and that said server was located in Maximum Mountain.<ref name="ep47">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|47|ref}}</ref> Luke was terrified to see his sister and promptly hid behind Gavin, and Gavin learned that Asana and Tiger had been childhood friends, realizing that Asana had forgotten Luke due to his nickname. Tiger had challenged Asana to a Duel, shouting down any protest, so Gavin was left with no choice but to watch the Duel with Luke hiding behind him the entire time. As the Duel progressed Gavin became curious about what had happened between Tiger and Asana, though Luke claimed not to know anything. Eventually Asana revealed that she and Tiger had been childhood friends until they split up to look for Luke after he went missing on a snowy day, with Tiger claiming that Asana had abandoned her. Schubel and Pidgetrap then revealed that Asana had instead rescued them and not told Tiger what she had done out of pride and Asana apologized to Tiger, abating her anger. Asana defeated Tiger and the two reconciled, though Luke ruined the moment by calling his sister Asana's nickname for her and was yelled into a wall as a result. The wall crumbled to reveal the main server Goha 66 had been looking for, but it proved to be too small to contain the information they needed, leading to Goha 66 revealing a note given to him reading "My best, most awesome plan to take over Goha".<ref name="ep48">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|48|ref}}</ref>

Team King Luke's Kings finished second on the second day of the Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal, seven points behind Yuga's team, so they would participate in a series of final matches the next day.<ref name="ep48" /> Gavin meanwhile was still concerned over Rayne's departure and concluded that Sogetsu Style needed to evolve with the times. He planned to adopt a more modern image during the finals in the style of rappers, despite knowing that there was a chance he would be Dueling Nail.<ref name="ep50" /> On the day of the finals, Gavin, Romin and Luke met with Yuga, Nail and Roa in Goha Stadium and Luke and Yuga reaffirmed their drives to win. Romin and Roa Dueled first, Roa gaining an early lead over Romin with "Royal Rebel's Doom Metal" and worrying Gavin, though Luke assured him Roa would win. Sure enough, Romin almost defeated Roa in a single turn using her Jam playstyle, but Roa was able to survive by bringing out "[[Royal Rebel's Heavy Metal (anime)|Royal Rebel's Heavy Metal]]" and "[[Royal Rebel's Invasion (anime)|Invasion]]" after Tyler and Toombs returned to support him. To Gavin's concern, Roa almost defeated Romin with his three ace monster, but Luke assured him that Romin was enjoying the Duel. Romin was able to combine the combo she had used to defeat Yuga with her "[[Climax Finale (anime)|Climax Finale]]" Spell, retrieving it with "[[Endoll (anime)|Endoll]]" to use it again and defeat Roa, putting Team King Luke's Kings on equal points with Team YNR. After the Duel the members of [[RoaRomin]] reconciled and Tyler and Toombs offered to help determine who was behind the tournament.<ref name="ep49">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|49|ref}}</ref>

Gavin was set to Duel Nail in the next Duel, and he assured Romin and Luke that he had a plan to win, unveiling his "DJ G" Style at the beginning of the Duel, though he quickly realized that he'd messed up. He brought out three "[[Sunny Fairy Spinangel (anime)|Sunny Fairy Spinangel]]", but Nail swiftly Maximum Summoned "[[Yggdrago the Sky Emperor (anime)|Yggdrago the Sky Emperor]]" and destroyed two of Gavin's "Spinangels". As Gavin tried to calm himself over the prospect of facing "Yggdrago", Rino came to his aid, promising to be with Gavin in his final Rush Duel and explaining that Gavin had dishonored his family name. The power in the stadium went out, and Gavin had a vision of his ancestor [[Gakugen Sogetsu]], the founder of the Sogetsu Style, and realized what was at the heart of the Sogetsu Style - that Gakugen had simply concentrated on a clear path to victory with his aides beside him. Returning to his original dress and persona, Gavin vowed to Duel in a distinguished manner and brought out "[[Karchizark the Unequaled (anime)|Karchizark the Unequaled]]", increasing its ATK past that of "Yggdrago". However Nail prevented "Yggdrago's" destruction, and on his next turn Gavin did his best to survive, weathering the effects of "Yggdrago" and keeping "Kachisuzaku" on the field, believing he could make it to the next turn. Nail then used "[[Tribute to The Doomed (anime Rush Duel)|Tribute to The Doomed]]" to destroy "Kachisuzaku", forcing Gavin to use "[[The Three Dark Rulers]]" to send "Semeruler" from his Deck to the Graveyard to fulfill its conditions and end the Duel in a [[DRAW]]. After the Duel Rayne approached Gavin in concern and Gavin asked her if he had been distinguished; Rayne replied that he had brought honor to his family name. To Gavin's joy, Rayne requested to graduate from Nail's service and returned to his side. Gavin apologized to Romin and Luke for failing to win, though Romin reassured him a DRAW was fine as Luke prepared to Duel Yuga in the final match.<ref name="ep50" />

Before Luke and Yuga's Duel, Gavin and Romin discussed the true purpose of the tournament Otes had mentioned and Gavin noted they would likely find out during the Duel. Luke noted to Gavin that he'd never have expected him to DRAW with Nail and thanked him for helping Luke to get to this point. When the Duel began Yuga was uncharacteristically nervous and only Summoned "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" after changing his hand out with "[[Amazing Dealer (anime)|Amazing Dealer]]"; Gavin realized he had likely drawn a bad hand as he had the last time he Dueled Luke. Luke didn't hold back, bringing out "Multistrike Dragon Dragias" and "[[Dragorite (anime)|Dragorite]]", but though he destroyed "Sevens Road Magician", Yuga used his "[[Surprising Barcode]]" Trap to prevent further damage by revealing the parts of "Vast Vulcan" from the top of his Deck. Yuga Maximum Summoned "Vast Vulcan" on his next turn and pushed Luke into a corner, prompting Gavin to remark on Yuga being their foe. Though Yuga almost defeated Luke, Luke was able to survive with his "[[7 Chance (anime)|7 Chance]]" Trap and draw a new ace, "[[Steel Strike Dragon Metagias (anime)|Steel Strike Dragon Metagias]]". To Gavin's shock the power began to fail again as it had during his and Nail's Duel and Tyler called them to reveal the [[Goha Duel Server]] was being hacked. The Duelstronauts then arrived and projected footage of the moon, as Yuga had believed the actions of Goha 66 were intended to draw everyone's attention underground and away from space. The footage revealed the Goha Duel Server was carved into the moon's surface, and the portion containing the Rush Duel program was the [[Super Rush Robot]], currently being eroded by [[Goha Enterprises Drone]]s in an effort to uninstall Rush Dueling.<ref name="ep51">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|51|ref}}</ref> Everyone concluded Otes was behind the hack, though Gavin and Romin noted he'd had Yuga install Rush Dueling in the first place and noted his true goal had to be something else. Gavin and Nail concluded stopping the Rush Duel would prevent the erosion, but Yuga and Luke decided to continue regardless, much to Gavin's shock. Gavin was impressed by Luke's efforts to destroy "Vast Vulcan' with "Metagias" and wondered what Yuga would do without his Maximum; Yuga brought out three of his ace monsters on his next turn and almost defeated Luke. Luke was barely able to hang on and Summoned "[[Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias (anime)|Illusion Strike Dragon Miragias]]" and "Dragias" on his next turn, attacking Yuga relentlessly as the Super Rush Robot continued to erode, but Yuga returned all his monsters to his hand with "[[Sevens Road Force]]". Gavin believed Luke had lost, but Luke was able to use a Trap to re-Summon "Dragias", destroying "Sevens Road Magician" and defeating Yuga. As they celebrated Luke's victory, Rush Dueling was uninstalled, but to Gavin's shock Yuga and Nail had reinstalled it during the Duel by using Kaizo as a processor and containing the data in a new Super Rush Robot Nail had constructed from space debris.<ref name="ep52">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|52|ref}}</ref> Luke was then crowned King of Duels, but Gavin and Romin decided to decline the title, as they didn't want to be associated with a tournament Otes had planned to destroy Rush Dueling with.<ref name="ep53">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|53|ref}}</ref>

===Goha 6 Siblings===
Although [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Dueling]] had experienced a boom due to the [[Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal]], the [[Rush Duel Club]] hadn't had any new members due to [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]]'s ego scaring them away. Although [[Yuga Ohdo|Yuga]] made an excuse and left after school, Gavin and [[Romin Kassidy|Romin]] decided to deal with Luke's ego and sought assistance from [[Tiadosia Kallister|Tiger]], who vowed to punish Luke for them. Luke then brought them a new clubmember, a boy in a chameleon costume he'd nicknamed [[Yuga Goha|Swirls]], but his aggressive questioning and even Romin and Gavin's kindness scared Swirls away. Gavin, Romin and Luke pursued him, finding [[Kaizo]] on his own and asking if he'd seen Swirls. Kaizo revealed he'd met Yuga and gone to the [[Hologram Man's chamber]], and they found him there as [[Otes]] issued a challenge to Yuga and Swirls. Luke encouraged Swirls to stop running, so Swirls agreed to Duel, borrowing Yuga's Deck for the Duel. After Swirls and Otes recreated Yuga and Otes' moves from their first Duel, Gavin hoped Swirls would be able to draw "[[Sevens Road Magician (anime)|Sevens Road Magician]]" as Yuga had, but Swirls instead Summoned "[[Sevens Road Wiz (anime)|Sevens Road Wiz]]" and used its effect to reduce the [[ATK]] of "[[Blue-Eyes White Dragon (anime Rush Duel)|Blue-Eyes White Dragon]]" to zero, allowing him to defeat Otes. After the Rush Duel Yuga asked Otes why he'd tried to destroy Rush Dueling, but Otes asked if Yuga had any proof that he was behind it, suggesting that the attempt had been a good thing given how much stronger Rush Dueling had become. The following day Tiger leaked Luke's childhood "The Lukeman" manga to [[Goha 7 Elementary|Goha #7 Elementary]], sending him cowering to the Rush Duel Clubroom as Gavin explained to Yuga what had happened, and they found Swirls, who had joined the club, standing guard for Luke.<ref name="ep53" />

As Yuga, Romin and [[Buff Grimes|Grimes]] were cleaning Swirls, [[Yosh Imimi|Yosh]], and the [[Music Club]]'s costumes, [[Super Mobile Fortress Sixross|a massive spaceship]] appeared in the sky and docked with the [[Goha Enterprises Main Office]]. The true [[Goha Enterprises|Goha]] Presidents, the [[Goha Six]], issued a challenge to Yuga and his friends, holding the [[Super Rush Robot]] hostage with [[Forcersizers]] that would force it to move until it shook itself apart unless he defeated all of them, and if they lost six times Yuga would become a Goha employee. Gavin expressed exasperation with Luke's desire to be hired by Goha as well and was surprised to see that [[Nail Saionji|Nail]] was providing the Goha Six with Duel fields. The eldest of the Goha Six, [[Yuro Goha]], challenged Yuga to a [[Turbo Duel|Turbo Rush Duel]] and Yuga used the air-conditioning Road he'd created for the Turbo Rush Duel. Although Yuga inflicted early damage to Yuro, Yuro was able to Summon [[Air Formula Eagle (anime)|three]] [[Cyber-Tech Alligator (anime Rush Duel)|monsters]] [[Sky Dragon (anime Rush Duel)|with]] enough ATK to defeat him, though Gavin noted Yuga had "[[Dark Revelation (anime)|Dark Revelation]]" [[Set]] to destroy them. Yuro gave up his chance to defeat Yuga by destroying "Dark Revelation" and restricted Yuga's attacks on his next turn, but Yuga was able to destroy Yuro's "[[Following World (anime)|Following World]]" [[Field Spell Card|Field Spell]] and defeat him, giving the Rush Duel Club one victory. After the Duel the [[Yuo Goha|youngest]] of the Goha Six had Yuro step down from his position for losing, Gavin noting that the siblings had their own problems, though Yuro wasn't too upset at abdicating his position and bid them farewell.<ref name="ep54">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|54|ref}}</ref>

Two days later Gavin, Yuga, Romin and Kaizo watched the Super Rush Robot's continuous stretches on Yuga's phone, Gavin noting the stress the robot was under. The second of the Goha Six, [[Yujin Goha]], then arrived at Goha #7 Elementary and challenged Yuga to a Rush Duel, bewildering Gavin with his love of the sea. Yujin had Nail create an artificial sea for his Duel that Romin almost fell into, but fortunately Yuro, who had enrolled at Goha #7 Elementary, saved her. After changing into swimming clothes provided by [[Seatbastian]], Luke accepted Yujin's challenge due to Yuga's inability to swim. To Gavin's surprise, Yuro noted that Yujin's Deck was new and Yujin claimed to have been given "the treasure of the sea" by [[Finn|a dolphin]] he'd met the previous night. Gavin was initially skeptical, but shocked when Yujin [[Special Summon]]ed "[[Levia-Dragon - Daedalus (anime Rush Duel)|Levia-Dragon - Daedalus]]" and used its powerful effect to clear the field, almost defeating Luke. Luke counterattacked with "[[Steel Strike Dragon Metagias (anime)|Steel Strike Dragon Metagias]]" and his two "[[Fortitude Dragon (anime)|Fortitude Dragon]]s", and Gavin praised Luke's fortitude. Yujin made a last attempt to defeat Luke by drawing "[[Umi (anime Rush Duel)|Umi]]" with his "[[Dolphin Counterattack (anime)|Dolphin Counterattack]]", but drew "[[Stream (anime)|Stream]]" instead as Kaizo accidentally unplugged his ocean, allowing Luke ot defeat Yujin and put their score 2-0 with the Goha Six.<ref name="ep55">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! Following Yuro's enrolment at Goha #7 Elementary, Gavin had to deal with him breaking regulations by driving his [[Duel Runner]] on school grounds. After trying to stop Yuro for the umpteenth time, Gavin learned that Luke had signed them up for the [[Goha Monsters]] baseball team tryouts due to his desire to become "King of Stolen Bases" so he could steal Yuga's seat if he became Goha President. Despite Gavin's skepticism they could be scouted, they nevertheless went to tryouts, Gavin performing adequately due to his [[Sogetsu Style]] training, while attributing Romin's excellent performance due to her consistent athleticism at school. The third of the Goha Six, [[Yuka Goha]], also arrived at the trials and challenged Romin to a Rush Duel, but Luke called for a timeout before the Duel could even start to give Romin three of his cards, explaining later that they had asked him to join the Dueling baseball world, much to Gavin's exasperation. Romin was able to make good use of Luke's cards, but Yuka remained in the Duel with her "[[Requesting 9 (anime)|Requesting 9]]" Trap and returned her [[Signature card|ace]], "[[Player 39: Home Run Hitter (anime)|Player #39: Home Run Hitter]]" to the field, using its effect to defeat Romin. Romin was dismayed by her loss, but Gavin reassured her the Goha Six were difficult opponents and noted they remained in the lead at 2-1. Yuka then tried to get Romin to join the Goha Monsters, while Gavin and Yuga had to finally tell Luke that he had mistaken what "base stealing" meant after he tried to actually steal the base.<ref name="ep56">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|56|ref}}</ref>

After finishing [[Goha 7 Elementary Student Council|Student Council]] work one afternoon, Gavin was approached by [[Shinken Tsurugi]] and [[Kotetsuki Mendo]] of the [[Kendo Club]], who asked Gavin to substitute for them in the weekend's kendo tournament as they had been injured by Tiger after misnaming her when requesting training. Gavin agreed, as he felt he could not abandon a club in need, but to his shock the [[Goha Martial Arts Stadium]] was deserted when they arrived save the fourth of the Goha Six, [[Yuran Goha]], and his attendant Drone [[Mrs. Drone]]. Mrs. Drone challenged them to a [[Kendo Rush Duel]] with Nail refereeing, and Gavin accepted the challenge as he believed only his Sogetsu Style training could match Yuran, having [[Rino Nanahoshi|Rino]] face Mrs. Drone in the kendo segment of the Duel. Yuran played his first turn passively, only [[Set]]ting a single monster and three cards at the beckoning of Mrs. Drone. Gavin started with a strong offense, but though he attacked Yuran directly with "[[Kimeruler the Dark Raider (anime)|Kimeruler the Dark Raider]]", Yuran was able to blunt his remaining attacks and damage him with Trap Cards. [[Rayne Nanahoshi|Rayne]] expressed concern to Gavin that Yuran lacked a fighting spirit, though Gavin dismissed it as the siblings all being different and congratulated Yuran for his moves (and being exasperated by ''Mrs. Drone'' accepting the compliment). To everyone's shock Swirls came in with Shinken's rival [[Ryu Nito]], who explained that Yuran had cut down him and the other tournament participants at once and Yuran began to speak for himself, claiming he knew all he needed to about Gavin. Yuran Tribute Set a monster and destroyed "Kimeruler", closing the gap between him and Gavin. Knowing Yuran's monster likely had high [[DEF]] and that he would oppose him with Traps, Gavin [[Tribute Summon]]ed "[[Kimeluna the Dark Shifter (anime)|Kimeluna the Dark Shifter]]" and switched her ATK and DEF with "[[Shield & Sword (anime Rush Duel)|Shield & Sword]]", then used the effect of "Kimeluna" to change Yuran's Set "[[Millennium Shield (anime Rush Duel)|Millennium Shield]]" into [[Attack Position]], before protecting himself from damage by Trap effects and his monsters from destruction. Beliving he'd won, Gavin attacked, but Yuran activated "[[Sword & Shield (anime)|Sword & Shield]]" to switch the ATK and DEF of their monsters again. Mrs. Drone explained Yuran's style was to counterattack after watching his opponent to gain information as Gavin was defeated, tying their score with the Goha Six at 2-2.<ref name="ep57">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|57|ref}}</ref>

Having lost twice to the Goha Six, Gavin called the Rush Duel Club to a meeting after school one day to discuss how to defeating them, but was displeased to learn Luke had gone to the [[Ramen Hut]] first and would be arriving later. [[Mimi Imimi|Mimi]] then visited them in the guise of Mysterious M, and Gavin, Yuga and Romin pretended they didn't know who she was to avoid alerting Swirls to their identity. Mimi explained they would likely be Dueling Yuo Goha next, the youngest and strongest of the Goha Six, but they heard Luke screaming in the hallway and rushed out to find the halls full of puppets. Yuro proceeded to run the puppets down, much to Gavin's protest, revealing they belonged to Yuo, who descended from the Super Mobile Fortress Sixross to Duel Yuga in a circus tent provided by Nail. Yuga started strongly with three [[Warrior]] monsters, but Yuo brought out "[[Gyakutenno Megami (anime Rush Duel)|Gyakutenno Megami]]", a monster Gavin had never seen before, then [[Tribute]]d her to Summon "[[Daigyakutenno Megami (anime)|Daigyakutenno Megami]]" and activate his "[[Imaginary Arc Tower (anime)|Imaginary Arc Tower]]" Field Spell to weaken Yuga's non-[[LIGHT]] monsters, destroying them all in a single turn. Swirls worried over Yuga's predicament, but Gavin was confident Yuga would make a comeback and delighted to be proven right when Yuga [[Maximum Summon]]ed "[[Hyper Engine Vast Vulcan (anime)|Hyper Engine Vast Vulcan]]", using its effects to destroy Yuo's Field Spell and successfully bypass the effects of Yuo's "[[Imaginary Arc Turret]]" Trap. To Gavin's shock "Vast Vulcan" began to disappear, and Kaizo arrived with the [[Duelstronauts]]'s [[Hubbel Space Binoculars]], revealing the right arm of the Super Rush Robot, which contained the data for Maximum, had fallen off. Fortunately the robot was able to reattach the arm of its own accord, allowing Yuga to attack. Although Yuo hadn't been defeated, Gavin was confident Yuga could still win, but Yuo claimed Yuga had been dancing to his tune and activated "[[Fusion (anime Rush Duel)|Fusion]]", fusing his "[[Imaginary Actor (anime)|Imaginary Actor]]" and "[[Sword Dancer (anime)|Sword Dancer]]" into the [[Cyborg]] "[[Metarion Ashurastar (anime)|Metarion Ashurastar]]". Gavin realized Yuo had fused the monsters after pondering the English, and Yuo activated the [[Multi-Choice Effect]] of "Ashurastar", which could destroy a Set card Yuga controlled. Gavin believed Yuga was safe as he had no Set cards, but Yuo revealed "Ashurastar" had a ''second'' effect that allowed it to gain the ATK of "Vast Vulcan", and it destroyed "Vast Vulcan" and defeated Yuga.<ref name="ep58">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|58|ref}}</ref>

Now with "Fusion" to fight as well as Yuo, Gavin called a meeting the next day between the Goha #7 and [[Goha 6 Elementary Student Council|#6 Student Councils]] at [[GastroByte]], where Mimi volunteered to pay for their meal. As soon as they arrived [[Janko Entant|Janko]] had one of his seizures, prompting Gavin to note he hadn't changed. Once they ordered, Goha #6 secretary [[Osamu Rojihara]] began arguing with Gavin over the order of their school's names in the title, Gavin getting more aggravated until Rayne and Rino told him off, and Gavin apologized. To his shock, they found the food had already been eaten by Janko's vice-president [[Botan Kenzaki]], and despite Janko lecturing her, Gavin suggested they just order again. After Gavin recapped Yuga's installation and re-installation of Rush Dueling, Romin arrived to join them for their meal, having spotted them after band practice, but Botan ate everyone's food again. Gavin tried to brush it off, but Romin called Kaizo to keep an eye on Botan and Gavin continued his presentation, discussing their confilct with Nail and the creation of Maximum and the [[Heavy Cavalry Duel Club]] after Rayne dropped a journal on them. He and Janko agreed the solidarity of the Heavy Cavalry Duel Club had been impressive and that they needed that to combat "Fusion", but the meeting slowly descended into chaos as Botan continued eating everyone's food and Janko asked to take over, accusing Gavin of being undistinguished. Gavin was incensed by the notion given Janko's trauma and adopted his DJ G persona again, desperately trying to get himself taken seriously.<ref name="ep59">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|59|ref}}</ref>

Gavin, Luke, Swirls and Romin later found Yuga methodically hammering at his air-conditioning Road in a delirium, and he, Luke and Romin were conscripted into Yuga's effort to visit Yuo on the Super Mobile Fortress Sixross. Gavin wondered if Yuga was trying to get a hint on defeating "Fusion" from Yuo while Swirls looked at [[Goha Library]]. After they broke into the ship, Romin revealed she'd made pink "Prima Guitarna Curry" in case Yuga and Yuo came to blows, prompting Gavin and Luke to worry it would explode as her [[Dragias Curry]] had. They ended up in Yuka's baseball field and were attacked by [[Goha Enterprises Drone]]s throwing baseball, forcing Gavin to briefly protect Romin's curry before giving it to Luke and using a baseball glove to ward the balls off. Yuo agreed to accept Yuga's audience and dropped Gavin, Romin and Luke into the kitchen, where Gavin had to stop Romin from trying to add to her curry. Eventually they made it to Yuo's room, where they found an excited Yuga explaining to Yuo the possibilities "Fusion" meant for Rush Dueling if they didn't know where it came from before he fell asleep, having been delirious due to not sleeping the previous night. Yuo angrily set his puppets and iron maiden on them, and Luke suggested detonating Romin's curry, though Gavin worried it could destroy Goha City. Fortunately Kaizo had recruited Tiger to rescue them, and Yuro helped everyone escape other than Kaizo, who was trapped in Yuo's iron maiden and launched into space. After returning them to the [[Road Laboratory]], Yuro revealed that Yuo's "Fusion" had been in space debris that hit [[Goha Space Elementary]].<ref name="ep60">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|60|ref}}</ref>

The Rush Duel Club joined [[RoaRomin]] for dinner at [[Big Seven Arena]] before Yuga took them to watch the [[Goha Meteor Shower]], where Luke practiced tongue twisters to try and wish on a shooting star, much to Gavin's confusion. To Gavin's shock a baseball stadium was provided by Nail, and he realized the Goha Six were challenging them again. Yuka arrived and challenged their best slugger, so [[Roa Kassidy|Roa]] accepted his challenge. Roa started well against Yuka, who began clutching her shoulder and angrily yelled at her siblings that they were the six of them together before vowing to win, reviving "Home Run Hitter" with "[[Player 99: Grand Slam Dragon (anime)|Player #99: Grand Slam Dragon]]" and almost defeating Roa. Unable to attack with his usual high-[[Level]] monsters due to Yuka's "[[King Shift of Fire]]", Roa instead gambled on "[[Destiny Introduction]]", which Gavin realized would cause Roa to lose if he drew an [[Effect Monster]]. Fortunately Roa drew two [[Normal Monster]]s and used Spell Cards to increase their ATK and reduce that of Yuka's, successfully defeating her. Yuka fled in tears after the Duel, vowing that Yuo would never become president without a certain object. After the Duel they headed outside to watch the Goha Meteor Shower again, but Gavin decided they were unlikely to see it and suggested they head home.<ref name="ep61">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|61|ref}}</ref>

The next morning Tiger called Gavin, Yuga, Romin and Swirls to the Music Clubroom and told them Luke had gone missing after returning home. Yuga decided to track Luke based on what he'd eaten, only to shock Tiger with his Road after being told they'd had curry for dinner; Gavin noting that Tiger and Luke would have had the same food. Tiger clarified Luke had "Bunker Strike Curry" of his own making, and Yuga was able to track Luke to the outskirts of Goha City. As they searched, Gavin noted that they lost a lot of strength without Luke while brushing off Romin just realizing they hadn't seen the sixth Goha Six yet. As they arrived at the [[Goha 6th Quarry]], Nail arranged two pillars for Yuo to Duel on, but as Yuo descended from the Super Mobile Fortress Sixross, Luke emerged from the trees wearing [[The Lukeman|a draconian helmet]] and calling himself "The Lukeman", taking on Yuo himself. Though worried by Yuo's use of "Daigyakutenno Megami" and "Imaginary Arc Turret", Gavin was impressed by Luke's use of "[[The Star Dragon (anime)|The Star Dragon]]" to bypass the Trap and weaken "Daigyakutenno Megami" enough to destroy. Yuo [[Fusion Summon]]ed "[[Metarion Vritrastar (anime)|Metarion Vritrastar]]" on his next turn, fusing "Imaginary Actor" with "[[Serpainter (anime)|Serpainter]]", and Gavin realized that fusing different monsters resulted in a different [[Fusion Monster]]. Luke was able to survive Yuo's attack, and to Gavin's shock and joy he used his own "Fusion" on the next turn, fusing "[[Multistrike Dragon Dragias (anime)|Multistrike Dragon Dragias]]" with "[[The Dragon (anime)|The Dragon]]" into "[[Hyperstrike Dragon Dragiastar F (anime)|Hyperstrike Dragon Dragiastar F]]". Yuo attempted to destroy "Dragiastar F" with [[Imaginary Arc Turbulence (anime)|a Trap]] due to having the [[Dragon]]-[[Type]] "Serpainter" in his Graveyard, but failed due to "Dragiastar F" being a [[High Dragon]]-Type and Luke defeated Yuo. After the Duel, the helmet vanished and left Luke with no memory of the Duel. Gavin then witnessed Yuran's attempt to remove Yuo as president and reinstate the other siblings, but Yuo revealed he had the sixth Goha Six badge and stripped Yuran of his position for treason, leaving him the sole Goha President.<ref name="ep62">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|62|ref}}</ref>

With Luke still unable to remember the Duel with Yuo, he returned to the Goha 6th Quarry to look for "Fusion" while Gavin, Romin, and Yuga reconvened at the Road Laboratory. Mrs. Drone then arrived, having been hacked by Yuo to spy on the other Goha Six and begged Yuga to fix her, and as Yuga did so they noted Yuo had sole control over Goha Enterprises and Gavin admitted he was worried by the unknown sixth Goha Six. To their shock holoscreens depicting Luke facing off with Roa appeared and Luke claimed to be the sixth Goha Six. As Luke Rush Dueled Roa, Gavin noted how often Luke was drawing and speculated he was trying to draw "Fusion", though Luke apparently failed to do so. Although Roa's insults initially cowed Luke, he was able to comeback and defeat Roa. Roa, Mimi and Swirls, who had all gone to the [[Goha Enterprises Main Office]], came to the Road Laboratory afterwards, Mimi explaining that the helmet Luke had been wearing as "The Lukeman" was one of the helmets that the Goha President could wear and Roa explained his belief that Luke could only use "Fusion" as The Lukeman.<ref name="ep63">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|63|ref}}</ref>

The rest of the Goha Six came to the Road Laboratory and asked Yuga to help defeat Yuo, and Tiger also arrived and confirmed Luke wasn't a Goha. She brought Gavin, Yuga, Romin and Swirls to [[Kallister family mansion|her family's mansion]], and Gavin realized the Kallister family owned [[Kallister Gears]]. Tiger introduced them to her great-grandfather [[Valencian Kallister|Valencian "Vance" Kallister]], who reaffirmed that Luke wasn't a Goha Six, but then they heard Luke calling for his mother and Tiger tracked him down and yelled him outside, ignoring Gavin and Romin's attempts to calm her down. She challenged Luke to a Rush Duel, angered over his thoughtless actions and easily pushed him into a corner, but before she could defeat Luke the Goha helmet reappeared again and took control of him, once again claiming to be The Lukeman. The Lukeman Fusion Summoned "Hyperstrike Dragon Dragiastar F" and used its other Multi-Choice Effect to power it up and allow it to attack twice, defeating Tiger. Yuo captured The Lukeman in Sixross afterwards and departed.<ref name="ep64">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|64|ref}}</ref>

[[Asana Mutsuba|Asana]] called the Rush Duel Club to [[Maximum Mountain]] to meet with her and the [[Heavy Cavalry Duel Club]], Gavin and Romin discussing the Drone controlling Luke on the way. Asana showed them a tiger-shaped outcrop that Tiger had been carving and Gavin realized that Tiger had been training after her loss to The Lukeman. After Asana saved an exhausted Tiger from what would have been a fatal fall, Sixross arrived for the day's Rush Duel and Tiger tried to accept the challenge, but was still too exhausted to stand, so Asana asked to accept the Duel. To everyone's shock, Yuo revealed that Asana would be Dueling Nail, who explained Yuo had ordered him to Duel despite his impartiality. Nail Maximum Summoned "[[Yggdrago the Sky Emperor (anime)|Yggdrago the Sky Emperor]]" on his first turn and Asana opposed him by powering up "[[Constructor Wyrm Buildragon (anime)|Constructor Wyrm Buildragon]]" with "[[Bucket Wheel Force]]". Asana revealing [[Galian Townsend|Galian]] and [[Pidgetrap Quill|Pidgetrap]]'s [[Signature card|ace monsters]] with the requirement for "Bucket Wheel Force" caused Gavin to realize she had added her friends' ace monsters to her Deck in lieu of her Maximum, a change she attributed to Yuga, but Nail used "[[Emergency Return (anime)|Emergency Return]]" to return "Yggdrago" to his hand to avoid its destruction as Yuga had during their second Rush Duel, telling Asana that Yuga had changed him as well. Nail Maximum Summoned "Yggdrago" again on his next turn, prompting Asana to defend with her friends' monsters, and Nail used the effects of "Yggdrago" and "[[Tribute to The Doomed (anime Rush Duel)|Tribute to The Doomed]]" to destroy two of them before reusing "Yggdrago" with "[[Viscom Nanotron (anime)|Viscom Nanotron]]" and destroying Asana's last monster. Fortunately Asana was able to survive by [[Three Cavalteers (anime)|reducing the ATK]] of "Yggdrago" and on her next turn she Summoned a new ace, "[[Constructor Sky Wyrm Gantry Dragon (anime)|Constructor Sky Wyrm Gantry Dragon]]", and revived "Buildragon" and "[[Constructor Demolisher Wyrm Drake Crush (anime)|Constructor Demolisher Wyrm Drake Crush]]", reducing the ATK of "Yggdrago" and increasing the ATK of "Drake Crush" with "Bucket Wheel Force" again. To Gavin's surprise Nail [[Pair Collision (anime)|prevented the destruction]] of "Yggdrago" even though he knew he would still lose, and after being defeated he resigned from Goha Enterprises and departed.<ref name="ep65">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|65|ref}}</ref>

Yuo declared their score was at 5-5, though Gavin insisted it should be 5-3 as two of the Goha Six's victories had come from Luke. To Gavin's surprise Yuga told him to keep the score as it was and he challenged the newly arrived The Lukeman to a Rush Duel.<ref name="ep65" /> The Lukeman was clad in a costume he termed his "Ultimate Form" for his Duel with Yuga, and Yuga responded in kind by donning a devilish costume and dubbing himself "Yuga the Destructor", much to Gavin's utter shock. The rest of the Goha Six and Mimi then arrived and explained what was going on: The Lukeman was an electronic lifeform created when Tiger had tried to fax ''The Lukeman'' manga and had struck it in frustration, causing a burst of energy that became sentient and created the "Fusion" cards from [[Program storage cards]] in the remains of Goha satellites destroyed by Nail eight years previously. The Lukeman desired to become one with Luke, which was why it had sought him out, and Yuga wanted to help The Lukeman, which was the reason behind his costume as "Yuga the Destructor". Gavin and the others were so distracted by the revelations they didn't notice The Lukeman had Fusion Summoned "Hyperstrike Dragon Dragiastar F" and almost defeated Yuga the Destructor, but Yuga was able to barely survive. Yuga then assumed a new guise, "The Yugaman", claiming to be an ally of The Lukeman, and Gavin and the others were provided with costumes as well.<ref name="ep66">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|66|ref}}</ref> Gavin took on the name of The Professor Gavin, and joined his friends in convincing The Lukeman they weren't his enemies, but having "The Rockin' Romin" be captured by the "Gohaliens" played by the Goha Six to force the Rush Duel to continue. Although The Yugaman destroyed "Dragiastar F" with the effect of "[[Ultimate Flag Mech Ace Breaker (anime)|Ultimate Flag Mech Ace Breaker]]", The Lukeman negated The Yugaman's follow-up direct attack and returned "Fusion" to his Deck on his next turn with "[[Peace Dragon]]" while also increasing both players' LP, prompting an enraged Yuo to ask if The Lukeman was Dueling seriously. The Lukeman re-drew "Fusion" and Fusion Summoned "[[Full Moon Dragon Umbralancer F (anime)|Full Moon Dragon Umbralancer F]]", reviving "Dragiastar F" and almost defeating The Yugaman. On his next turn The Yugaman [[Sevens Glory|revived]] "Sevens Road Magician", but The Lukeman [[Lode Crusher|returned]] all the monsters in his Graveyard to his Deck to prevent him using the effect of "Sevens Road Magician". The Yugaman tried to counter by drawing a new card with "[[1/Infinity]]", which forced both players to draw and would damage Yuga if he didn't draw the same card as The Lukeman. To Gavin's horror The Lukeman drew "Fusion", which Yuga didn't have in his Deck. A meteor then entered [[Earth (planet)|Earth]]'s atmosphere and plunged towards Yuga, and Gavin shielded Romin from the shockwave as he watched in horror. Yuga was able to block the meteor with his Duel Disk, and Gavin realized it could have been the remains of a satellite containing "Fusion". To his joy he was proved correct when Yuga drew "Fusion" and Fusion Summoned "[[Sevens Paladin (anime)|Sevens Paladin]]", which could gain ATK from monsters in both Graveyards, and Yuga successfully sent the [[EARTH]] monster he needed to the Graveyard to activate the effect of "Sevens Paladin", allowing him to destroy both of The Lukeman's Fusion Monsters and defeat him.<ref name="ep67">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|67|ref}}</ref>

As The Lukeman thanked Yuga, Yuo tried to destroy the Super Rush Robot in Sixross, but was stopped when Kaizo, who had been caught in the Goha Meteor Shower]], crashed into Sixross and detonated Romin's Prima Guitarna Curry, crashing Sixross. Gavin ordered Yuo to release the Super Rush Robot as he'd promised and Yuo reluctantly did so. The Lukeman then released Luke and left for outer space, promising to return if they needed him. As he left, more meteors began to enter the atmosphere, and Gavin wondered if they all contained "Fusion" cards. Mimi then claimed Swirls to be the sixth Goha Six, though she was proven wrong when the sixth Goha Six's badge didn't react to him. Yuga then offered to join Goha Enterprises as the Goha Six had initially asked, in exchange for Yuo retaining his position and reinstating his siblings, much to Gavin's shock.<ref name="ep67" />

At some point Gavin found a "[[Fusion (anime Rush Duel)|Fusion]]" card and added it to his Deck.<ref name="ep69">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|69|ref}}</ref> Gavin and [[Romin Kassidy|Romin]] were recruited by the rest of the [[Goha Six]] to talk with [[Yuo Goha|Yuo]], who they were planning a surprise birthday party for and they were tasked with both participating in a play for him and teaching him to say "thank you", as Yuo had never thanked anyone. They found Yuo sitting alone at a playground and The Professor Gavin quickly talked Yuo into playing along with The Rockin' Romin, reminding him of Romin's explosive cooking and temper. Yuo was already suspicious of his siblings' motives and after Romin told Yuo his siblings were planning a surprise birthday party for him, Gavin helped convince Yuo of the likelihood given all the evidence in favor of the notion, while also convincing him to buy ice-creams for Romin when she used her "Miracle Beauty Problem-Solving Beam". Eventually they convinced him to agree to learn to say thank you, and spent most of the afternoon teaching him to do so. Their efforts proved difficult to the point they had to teach Yuo the sounds of the phrase, and Gavin even recruited [[Janko Entant]] to teach Yuo the "ari" portion of the phrase and resorted to "DJ G". Once they finished, Gavin and Romin quickly went to Sixross and Romin forced Gavin to change into each other's costumes, resulting in ''Gavin'' being "held hostage" as "The Rockin' Romin". When Yuo arrived he almost left in shame until his siblings wished him a happy birthday, and he happily participated in their play and "freed" "The Rockin' Romin". Afterwards Gavin changed back into his usual clothes and joined the Goha Six for Yuo's birthday dinner, though he was disapproving of Romin asking to let them join the following year.<ref name="ep68">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! [[Yuga Ohdo|Yuga]] took Gavin and his friends to see [[Nail Saionji|Nail]] in his new store, having requested to Yuo that Nail be allowed back into [[Goha Enterprises]] as he wanted to work on [[Maximum Monster]]s with Nail. Nail declined Yuga's offer and suggested that Gavin and his friends also become Goha employees to aid Yuga should he need it. Gavin was placed in the General Headquarters' Department of Internal Discipline, Serious Division with [[Rayne Nanahoshi|Rayne]] and [[Rino Nanahoshi|Rino]] for his efforts as [[Goha 7 Elementary Student Council|Goha #7 Elementary Student Council]] President and quickly took to his new role of enforcing rules at the company, scolding Yuga for riding his [[Duel-cycle]] in the hallway. As he reveled in his new maturity he was brushed aside by [[Oceania Illumilina]], who had taken over announcing the [[Goha Rush Duel Team Battle Royal]] after [[Prioria Sweetalina]] left, now responsible for appliance manitenance, and he thanked her for her efforts, but was surprised when she brushed him off. After he visited the staff canteen where Romin was now working, Gavin noticed Oceania's fixtures hadn't been properly changed, though she again brushed him off. Gavin was astounded to learn [[Lucidien Kallister|Luke]] had created his own "Luke Division" with [[Yuga Goha|Swirls]] and shocked when he saw Oceania had recklessly used octopus wiring to install the Luke Division's new appliances, overloading the [[Goha Enterprises Main Office]]'s power. Deciding to confront Oceania over her laziness, Gavin went to her office and challenged her to a [[Yu-Gi-Oh! Rush Duel|Rush Duel]] with the stipulation she clean up her act if he won, though he had to clean Oceania's [[Duel Disk]] just to even begin the Duel. Gavin quickly gained an advantage over Oceania with "[[Yamiruler the Dark Delayer (anime)|Yamiruler the Dark Delayer]]" due to her carelessness causing her to misplay, but was shocked when she claimed she had a dream to take over Goha Enterprises with her own business and by how she bypassed the effect of "Yamiruler" by [[Fusion Summon]]ing "[[Showering Seaferno (anime)|Showering Seaferno]]" and was barely able to survive her attack. On his next turn Gavin Fusion Summoned himself, Summoning the first [[Celestial Warrior]] monsters "[[Yamiterasu the Divine Ruler (anime)|Yamiterasu the Divine Ruler]]" and increasing its [[ATK]] vastly while preventing Oceania from [[Special Summon]]ing monsters in [[Attack Position]], a strategy that saved him when Oceania again misplayed and allowed him to defeat her. Oceania swam off into the sea after the Duel with a promise to work harder in the future, but angered by Rayne's claim that "scales" had fallen from her.<ref name="ep69" />

Gavin, Rayne and Rino were assigned to show the [[Goha 5 Elementary|Goha #5 Elementary]] students around the Goha Enterprises Main Office for a field trip, including the [[Duelstronauts]] and [[Kit Schrödinger]] and his friends, [[Muttsy Pavlov]] and [[Grizzle Maxwell]], but they soon learned one group had gone missing. [[Booster Page|Booster]] and Kit noted it was likely the [[Battle Bug Club]] who had visited the [[Rush Duel Training Camp]] and Gavin and his friends quickly split up to find them due to the sensitive material Goha had, including Yuga's "[[Hyper Engine Vast Vulcan (anime)|Hyper Engine Vast Vulcan]]" cards. Gavin and Romin arrived at Yuga's office to find the door had been cut down and Yuga and Luke facing off with [[Kabuto Bito]] and [[Kirihito Kamagaya]] before Rayne and Rino's cousin [[Nana Nanahoshi]] arrived with Swirls, her ladybug hat scaring Yuga away. Realizing Nana was part of the Nanahoshi branch dedicated to spreading chaos, Gavin was appalled by her goal of stealing Yuga's Maximum, but shock when Yuga returned with [[Kaizo]] wired into a Road and threatening to blow up the building just to get rid of the ladybug, due to a fear of them Nana had instilled in him when they were younger. To Gavin's relief Luke convinced Yuga to Rush Duel Nana instead, but Yuga's fear of Nana's ladybug monsters eventually drove him to flee the Duel, and [[Luke's wristwatch]] was apparently set off when he went after Yuga, briefly deactivating the building's power again. Yuga returned to the Duel afterwards and [[Maximum Summon]]ed a new Maximum, "[[Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord (anime)|Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord]]", which he explained had been transformed from "Vast Vulcan" due to Luke's Pauli effect, and he defeated Nana. Gavin was surprised to learn Yuga had thought Nana's hat to be a real ladybug, and Nana left, claiming they would meet again. After trying to tell Yuga off again for riding his Duel-cycle in the Goha Enterprises Main Office one morning, Gavin learned Romin had cooked both her [[Dragias Curry]] and her [[Prima Guitarna Curry]] and sent a company-wide notice to warn people not to mix them, fearing they could detonate with enough force to destroy the building. To Gavin's horror he learned Romin had challenged [[Mimi Imimi|Mimi]] to a Rush Duel over not eating her curry and sprinted to the Gohanium Section's Explosive Proof laboratory, a breach of the rules Luke called him out on. Gavin explained the emergency to them and took them to the lab, where they watched the Rush Duel from behind explosive-proof glass set up by [[Dr. Delta]], [[Dr. Gamma]] and [[Dr. Zeta]], though to Gavin's dismay Luke wanted to eat the curry and Yuga was more interested in the Duel. After Romin gained an early lead over Mimi, a droplet of the two curries mixed and blew out the glass, and Gavin and the [[Chef Drone]]s had to yank the hungry Luke back from trying to eat the curries. To Gavin's joy Mimi appeared to win, but Romin survived by increasing her LP and Fusion Summoned "[[CAN:D LIVE (anime)|CAN:D LIVE]]", defeating Mimi. Gavin was horrified by Romin's victory, but to his relief Delta, Gamma and Zeta took all the curry to experiment on, though he was worried when Yuga noted Luke had disappeared. Sure enough, Gavin heard a small explosion while he, Yuga and Mimi were watching Romin cook and they headed into the lower floors to find Luke had set off the curry and was happily devouring it.<ref name="ep71">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|71|ref}}</ref>

After a busy morning stamping documents with Rayne and Rino's assistance, Luke called Gavin and Romin to his office.<ref name="ep72">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|73|ref}}</ref> He showed them a [[Duel ID cards|Duel ID card]] with the name "Yuga Goha" and Mimi confirmed that Yuga was likely the sixth Goha Six given their names all began with "Yu". Gavin worried Yuga was getting out of their reach, but Luke reminded him Yuga was still Yuga, though he immediately started trying to get in Yuga's good graces in hopes of becoming Goha President after Yuga abdicated the position, efforts that Gavin, Romin and Swirls spied on. Mimi eventually suggested Luke have a corporate entertainment Rush Duel with Yuga and lose on purpose to put him in a good mood, a plan Gavin was skeptical Luke could carry out. Despite the situation, Gavin was impressed when Yuga immediately Maximum Summoned "Supreme Skystream Magnum Overlord", though confused when Yuga used its effect despite being unable to attack that turn, observations Luke shouted at him for, as he was trying to flatter Yuga. After Luke only Summoned "[[Dragorite (anime)|Dragorite]]" and Set three cards, Yuga used all the effects of "Magnum Overlord", including sending it to the Graveyard, a move that initially confused Gavin and angered Luke, prompting Yuga to ask if Luke was trying to lose on purpose. Luke suddenly dropped his act and denied he'd been trying to lose, Dueling seriously, though Yuga used the effect of "Magnum Overlord" to Summon two of his ace monsters, then Fusion Summoned "[[Raidacross Ash, Hero of Chaos (anime)|Raidacross Ash, Hero of Chaos]]" and destroyed most of Luke's Traps. However Luke survived with "[[7 Chance (anime)|7 Chance]]", a move that confused everyone watching until Gavin noticed it. On his next turn Luke Fusion Summoned "[[Hyperstrike Dragon Dragiastar F (anime)|Hyperstrike Dragon Dragiastar F]]" himself for the first time and locked Yuga from using his own Traps, defeating him again. Although Yuga threw another tantrum over losing to Luke once more, they made up over the last kake udon in the canteen and Gavin noted Yuga and Luke would never change regardless of whether Yuga was the sixth Goha Six or not.<ref name="ep73" />

Rino alerted Gavin and Rayne to a zombie outbreak in Goha Enterprises, and Gavin went with them to the Gohanium Section where they saw Mimi being surrounded by zombies. Mimi told them to run, warning them they would be zombified if they lost a Duel to the zombies, before being overwhelmed herself. Rayne and Rino convinced Gavin he needed to escape, and they decided to take an elevator to the helipad and escape on the emergency Drone, but Gavin realized there were likely zombies inside it and his hunch proved correct, saving them. They instead took the stairs to the upper levels, and Gavin began to rely on his knowledge of zombie films, realizing they were likely to be attacked when Rino believed the upper floors to be free of zombies. The zombified [[Graves]], [[Mason]] and [[Hicks]] then attacked them, though [[Yosh Imimi|Yosh]] soon arrived to rescue them. When Mimi arrived with the rest of the horde, Gavin tried to warn Rayne and Rino not to get distracted, but Mason, Graves and Hicks grabbed them, and they and Yosh told Gavin to run, Gavin eventually agreeing. As Gavin fled, he reflected the outbreak was likely global, but was still resolved to escape. He found Luke hiding in a bathroom stall, but was unable to do so himself as zombies inhabited the others, though fortunately Swirls helped Gavin escape through the ceilings, leaving Luke to the horde. Gavin and Swirls emerged in the kitchen, where Romin had been holding out against the zombies after trying to make Dragias Curry, so Gavin had her finish it to use it as a weapon while holding the barricade up with Swirls. The resulting curry explosion separated Gavin from his friends, but he finally made it to the helipad, only for Yuo to escape before Gavin could warn him being selfish would likely backfire, and Gavin was once again proven right when the evacuation Drone crashed. The zombie horde arrived, with Yuga at its head, and [[D.K.|a zombie]] challenged Gavin to a Rush Duel, Gavin vowing to defeat them all. He Set his entire hand as a defense against the zombies, managing to endure the zombie's attacks, and on his next turn he steadily changed the zombie's [[Zombie]] monsters into Defense Position, including using the other effect of "Yamiterasu", before switching them all back into [[Attack Position]] with "[[Silent Celebration]]" and reducing the ATK of the zombie's "[[Cyber-Stein Frankenshrine (anime)|Cyber-Stein Frankenshrine]]", allowing him to defeat the zombie. To Gavin's utter shock the zombies began applauding him, Yuga claiming he knew Gavin would be the last one standing. The PA then declared Recreation Time to be over and Yuga explained they had all been participating in a zombie play event, and the "zombie" Gavin had Dueled, D.K., had helped organize it.<ref name="ep74">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|74|ref}}</ref>

After the event, Swirls continued to act strangely. Gavin went to the [[Road Laboratory]] with Romin, [[Roa Kassidy|Roa]] and Mimi to ask Yuga if he was the sixth Goha Six, but when Yuga was late, Romin suggested going to his house, pointing out they didn't know much about him and causing Gavin to have a slight crisis over how little he knew about Yuga. They headed to Yuga's house and ran into [[Asana Mutsuba|Asana]] on the way, who was also curious over if Yuga was a Goha, but who disapproved of them sneaking behind Yuga's back, something Gavin was feeling conflicted over himself. Asana challenged them to a Rush Duel to stop them, and Roa accepted her challenge at Romin's prompting. After Roa inflicted early damage to Asana, Asana Fusion Summoned "[[Infinite Constructor Wyrm Buildream (anime)|Infinite Constructor Wyrm Buildream]]" and almost defeated Roa in a [[One Turn Kill]], but Roa survived by [[Card Reprinting (anime)|increasing his]] LP. Roa Summoned "[[Royal Rebel's Doom Metal (anime)|Royal Rebel's Doom Metal]]" on his next turn, only for Asana to [[Buried Shield (anime)|change]] it face-down, a choice Roa claimed was the right one, as was her decision to stop them investigating Yuga. However he claimed the right choice wasn't always the best one and Summoned "[[Royal Rebel's Hard Rock (anime)|Royal Rebel's Hard Rock]]", using its effect to damage Asana and gain the ATK of "Buildream", defeating her. Asana left, warning them they wouldn't be able to regain Yuga's trust if they betrayed him. Romin led them to what she believed to be Yuga's neighbourhood, and Gavin started seeing Yuga throughout it, but ended up running in circles after him before reuniting with Roa, Romin and Mimi. To Gavin shock seven Yugas approached them and Gavin wondered if they were clones intended to protect the real one. The Yugas accused them of spying on him and challenged them to Rush Duels, but before Gavin and Roa could accept, Asana returned with another Romin, claiming these weren't Yuga. The Romin who had been with Gavin revealed herself to be Nana, and the Yugas her operatives, and Nana claimed she was doing reconnaissance, mocking Gavin, Roa and Mimi for being so willing to be manipulated into betraying Yuga. She revealed Yuga and Luke were helping Swirls, Gavin recalling Swirls' odd actions after the Zombie Party, before claiming their plans would become even more interesting and withdrawing with her operatives. Afterwards Gavin and Mimi joined Roa in apologizing to Asana for their actions, and Asana admitted she'd lost faith in Yuga as well and apologized too.<ref name="ep75">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|75|ref}}</ref> Gavin and Romin returned to the Goha Enterprises Main Building to wait for Yuga, Luke and Swirls, and eventually they returned that evening, as Yuga was late for an emergency meeting with Yuo. Luke explained to Gavin that Yuga's wasn't the sixth Goha Six after all and that [[Tiadosia Kallister|Tiger]] had defeated Yuga in a Rush Duel to prevent him from helping Swirls, who they believed to be affected by a "forbidden card" used by Nana, while Gavin and Romin told Luke about how Nana had manipulated them and Gavin shamefully apologized to Yuga, though Yuga didn't mind and offered to invite them to [[Yuga's house|his house]].<ref name="ep76">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|76|ref}}</ref>

Gavin, Yuga, Luke, and Romin went to Yuo's office for the meeting, though Yuo and the [[President Drone]] were the only others present.<ref name="ep76">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh! SEVENS|76|ref}}</ref> Yuo proposed Rush Dueling and Goha Dueling be fused, denying Gavin's accusations of trying to destroy Rush Dueling again, and to Gavin's shock Yuga agreed to Yuo's proposal. As Romin had feared, Yuo was indeed using the fusion as an excuse to destroy Rush Dueling, but fortunately Yuga had developed a Road that allowed people to create their own ''[[Duel Monsters]]'' formats, preventing Yuo from merging them all. Yuo tried to fire Yuga, but his decision was vetoed by the rest of the Goha Six, though Yuga told them they could fire him if they told him about the forbidden card. The Goha Six didn't know anything about it, but had detected activity underground, causing Luke to fan himself with an oversized card that Luke explained he'd printed with a [[Duel Card Manufacturer]] under the Goha Enterprises Main Office, causing everyone to realize that was likely where Nana had printed the forbidden card. Gavin joined his friends and the Goha Six in an elevator to the factory that contained the Duel Card Manufacturer, which had been repaired despite Luke's claims it had been destroyed, and watched as Mrs. Drone printed the forbidden card, "[[Monster Reborn (anime Rush Duel)|Monster Reborn]]". To Gavin's shock the sight of the card sent Swirls into a rage and he armed himself with a black [[Duel Disk]] that had been contained in the President Drone. Yuga explained this was their chance to break the spell on Swirls, but Yuo challenged Swirls to a Rush Duel before he could. Yuo used "Monster Reborn", though it didn't seem to affect Swirls, but after Fusion Summoning "[[Metarion King Cobrastar (anime)|Metarion King Cobrastar]]" and attacking, Yuo chanted a spell that visibly affected Swirls, and Gavin cheered as he believed he would be back to normal. However to Gavin's shock, Swirls survived Yuo's attacks and broke out of his costume, revealing himself to be [[Yuga Goha]], the sixth Goha Six, and Yuro explained they had sealed him away in the past after he tried to use "Monster Reborn", but had lost their memories of doing so, shocking Gavin that the real Swirls was so violent. "Swirls" vowed revenge for being sealed and defeated Yuo with "Monster Reborn" and "[[Predator Gunleon (anime)|Predator Gunleon]]", before leaving for the helipad. Luke tried to convince Swirls to return to the Luke Division with him, but Yuga Goha bid them farewell and flew away with the President Drone after it transformed into wings for him.<ref name="ep77">{{episode|Yu-Gi-Oh!
