Illusion (
The Illusion Type is based on the Illusion Magic Alignment, originally used by Maximillion J. Pegasus in the Yu-Gi-Oh! manga and subsequently implemented in some early video games, where it was localized as either "Illusionist" or "Dream". It generally included surreal entities such as mythical creatures, reality warpers, and hypnotists. This Type was also assigned to "Dragon Capture Jar" and "Dragon Piper" in Bandai's card game, both cards used by Pegasus.
All Illusion Effect Monsters currently released in the OCG/TCG share the effect that no monster can be destroyed by battles involving them, including themselves (the only exception being "Illusionist of Jongleurghoul", a Normal Monster), and incorporate the Eye of Wdjat in their artworks. Furthermore, almost all of them feature a semi-monochromatic abstract background.
